Gadget to help women feign virginity angers many in Egypt

Reporting from Cairo – Whether it’s seen as a clever little gadget to help a woman keep a secret or a devilish deception that threatens Islam, the Artificial Virginity Hymen Kit is not welcome in Egypt.

The kit allows a bride who is not a virgin to pretend that she is. A pouch inserted into the vagina on her wedding night ruptures and leaks a blood-like liquid designed to trick a new husband into believing that his wife is chaste. It’s a wink of ingenuity to soothe a man’s ego and keep the dowry intact.

Diana West: Losing our way to victory

And what war would that be? Since 9/11, the answer to this question has eluded our leaders, civilian and military, but it remains the missing link to a cogent U.S. foreign policy.

It is not, as our presidents vaguely in-voke, a war against “terrorism,” “radicalism” or “extremism”; and it is not, as the current hearts-and-minds-obsessed Af-ghanistan commander calls it, “a struggle to gain the support of the (Afghan) people.” It is something more specific than presidents describe, and it is something larger than the outlines of Iraq or Afghanistan. The war that has fallen to our generation is to halt the spread of Islamic law (Sharia) in the West, whether driven by the explosive belts of violent jihad, the morality-laundering of petro-dollars or decisive demographic shifts.

Obama Increases Aid to Muslim Countries

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Mr. “I don’t want to meddle in other Countries’ business (*if they are Muslim)” is upping U.S. aid to Islamic Dictatorships.  They deserve it right? I mean, they do so much for the U.S, and besides, it isn’t like we are in a recession.  Right?…..right?…..

Obama Bows To Saudi KingIn the latest in a recent series of increased American assistance efforts for Arab and Muslim states, U.S. President Barack Obama has allocated an additional $150 million to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The regimes leading Egypt, the Palestinian Authority, the United Arab Emirates and even Saudi Arabia have all benefited from recent American policy shifts.

Jordan’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Suhair Al-Ali, was quoted by The Jordan Times as explaining that the [Jordanian] kingdom receives $363 million annually from the United States in economic assistance. The allocations signed into law by Obama this week mean that Jordan will receive a total of $513 million from the U.S. in 2009. The minister told the Jordanian newspaper that the additional American aid was the result of ongoing efforts by Jordan’s King Abdullah II, as well as Obama’s “recognition of the important role Jordan plays in the region.”

Egypt received $310 million in supplemental appropriations from the U.S. House of Representatives, currently controlled by Obama’s Democratic party. At the same time, 2009 State Department funding for the promotion of democratic initiatives in Egypt was cut from $50 million to $20 million. In addition, the U.S. has agreed not to give any of the pro-democracy funds to organizations that are not approved by the Mubarak regime. In the year 2007, Egypt received a total of $2.4 billion.

On another front, in March of this year, it was reported that the Obama administration planned to dramatically increase funding to the Palestinian Authority for security training, which is conducted by Jordanian police under the supervision of U.S. General Keith Dayton. The U.S. allocated $75 million for the PA police training in 2008, but reports indicated that the Obama administration was planning to pump up to $130 million into the program in 2009In.  In any event, the U.S. has already pledged $600 million in funds to the Palestinian Authority, with another $300 million for humanitarian aid to the Hamas regime in Gaza.

Elsewhere in the region, the U.S. is set to help the United Arab Emirates become the first Arab nation with a developed nuclear power infrastructure. President Obama gave his official support and authorization for the $41 billion project, allowing private U.S. companies to compete for construction contracts.

In Pakistan, the U.S. president proposed $2.8 billion in aid for that nation’s military, alongside civilian aid of $1.5 billion a year for the next five years. The military aid is ostensibly to allow the Pakistanis to more effectively fight jihadist and al-Qaeda terrorism emanating from the Swat Valley and along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

The Obama administration’s assistance to Arab and Muslim states extends beyond the monetary, however.

According to an article in Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin earlier this month, the American government has petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to preserve sovereign immunity for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and four Saudi princes in connection with a civil case seeking compensation for victims of the massive September 11, 2001, al-Qaeda terrorist attacks on the American homeland. The claimants in the case say that there is sufficient evidence of Saudi involvement in 9/11 for the court to lift the normally applicable immunity.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Saud al-Faisal, told Newsweek magazine this month that the United States should cut off all aid to Israel if the Jewish State does not accept the 2002 Saudi-sponsored Arab-Israeli terms of negotiation.

Prompted By Obama, C.A.I.R. To Distribute 100,000 Korans to American Leaders.

Monday, June 29th, 2009

http://www.pipelinenews.org/images/CAIRbusted.jpgThe Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), whose officials in the past have been convicted for being associated with Muslim terrorist groups, said it will announce at a news conference Tuesday that it is launching an “education campaign” and will distribute 100,000 copies of the Koran to local, state and national leaders. The books will provide an English translation and commentary.

CAIR said the distribution is prompted by U.S. President Barack Obama’s recent speech in Cairo, in which he said he wants to reach out to Muslims throughout the world. He praised the Muslim community in the U.S, whose values he said incorporate tenets of Islam. President Obama, whose father was a Muslim, quoted the Koran four times in his speech in Cairo and used the word “violence” instead of “terror” in his reference to extremists.

“Through this ground-breaking outreach initiative, we hope not only to educate policy-makers and opinion leaders about Islam, but also to provide an opportunity for American Muslims to reach out to their fellow citizens of other faiths,” said CAIR board chairman, North Carolina State Senator Larry Shaw.

When Egypt Occupied Gaza

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_u-AKWDZaYso/R9dC65Cmp1I/AAAAAAAACMM/MpasBVcWE0Y/s400/Palestinian_lynch.jpgFollowing the footsteps of all Western leaders before him in recent history, President Obama has waxed poetic on the need to fulfill the dreams of every Phakestinian by providing them with a ”much deserved” State.  (Even comparing Phakestinian suffering to the Jews in the Holocaust)

His statements, and policy is based on many false assumptions, but none more influential than the repeatedly proven false belief that the Phakestinians are suffering from an unprecedented “occupation” by Israel, and that they actually want to live side-by-side with Israel in peace within their own Country.

Carl In Jerusalem, does a fantastic job explaining the folly of this assumption, and gives a bit of a history lesson on the Arab-Israel conflict from an angle that is often not discussed: When Egypt Occupied Gaza.

Below are excepts from Carl In Jerusalem.

Egypt occupied the Gaza Strip from 1948-67.  Had they chosen to do so, and if the real goal of the ‘Palestinians’ and the Arab countries had been to do so, Egypt could have granted Gaza independence as a ‘Palestinian’ state. (Jordan could have done the same with the ‘West Bank’).

But that was not Egypt’s goal and the Arab countries have no interest in the ‘Palestinians’ or a ‘Palestinian state.’ Here are a couple of examples of how the ‘refugees’ in Gaza were treated in the 1960’s, long before there was any ‘occupation.’

Egypt’s policy for the Strip was succinctly spelled out by the deputy governor, Muhammad Flafaga, in an interview appearing in the Danish newspaper Aktuelt on February 9, 1967:

  • Question: Why not send the refugees to other Arab countries? Syria would no doubt be able to absorb a vast number of them. Are you afraid that national bonds with Palestine will be loosened, that the hatred against Israel will vanish if they become ordinary citizens?
  • Answer: As a matter of fact, you are right. Syria could take all of them, and the problem would be solved. But we do not want that. They are to return to Palestine.

UNRWA reported in 1956: “One of the obstacles to the achievement of the General Assembly’s goal of making the refugees self-supporting continues to be the opposition of the governments in the area.”

Ralph Galloway, an UNRWA official who quit in frustration, observed bitterly: “The Arab states don’t want to solve the refugee problem. They want to keep it as an open sore, as a weapon against Israel. Arab leaders don’t give a damn whether the refugees live or die.”

No discussion about the Arab-Israel conflict would not be complete without mentioning the 1974 P.L.O. Phased Plan.

One of the major reasons why the Arab-Israel conflict has yet to be resolved is because we don’t allow ourselves to properly understand it, and instead naively cling to baseless assumptions regarding the Arab goals; namely destroying Israel.

The “Disengagement” from Gaza in 2005 is a recent blaring example of this.

Obama to offer Muslim Personal Commitment

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Obama being a good appeaser is now going to offer Muslims a “Personal Commitment”. He claims we will build bridges and pursue “Common Interest”. Whats are the common interest we have with Islam. I have none and despise their Barbaric Society.

Obama speech to offer personal commitment to Muslims

President Barack Obama will offer a “personal commitment” to bridge US differences with Muslims in his long-awaited speech to the Islamic world next week in Egypt, aides said. But White House advisors said Friday that Obama would not shy away from addressing “tough issues” in the speech on Thursday at the University of Cairo which will be co-hosted by Al-Azhar University, an ancient center of Islam and learning.

Egypt is Muslim occupied. The Coptic Christians are the real Egyptians and I doubt Obama will meet with them. Its ironic he chooses a conquered land to address the Muslims. No thanks I don’t want any bridges with Islam. I wish America would realize the dangers we are playing with.

Egypt Condemns Iran and its Allies

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

The Egyptians are smart, they know Iran is the trouble in that region. This public attack is more evidence that Egypt is on the side of Israel against the Islamo-Fascists.

Egypt attacks Iran and allies in Arab world

Cairo chides Iran, Hamas, Hizbullah, says cooperation over Gaza provokes conflict in the Middle East

Egypt aired its grievances against Iran, the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas and the Lebanese Shiite group Hizbullah, saying they worked together in the fighting over Gaza to provoke conflict in the Middle East.

“(They tried) to turn the region to confrontation in the interest of Iran, which is trying to use its cards to escape Western pressure … on the nuclear file,” Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit said in an interview with Orbit satellite channel broadcast on Wednesday.

Good for Egypt, they are standing up to Iran and know Israel is not their enemies. This Israeli-Egyptian alliance is a very powerful counter balance to the Iranian-Jihadi alliance. Things are getting interesting.

Obama Lied About Firing Anti-Israel Adviser?

Monday, November 10th, 2008

In May of this year, Barack Obama fired Middle East adviser Robert Malley when it was revealed that Malley had been holding secret talks with Hamas.

One of Barack Obama’s Middle East policy advisers disclosed yesterday that he had held meetings with the militant Palestinian group Hamas – prompting the likely Democratic nominee to sever all links with him.

Robert Malley told The Times that he had been in regular contact with Hamas, which controls Gaza and is listed by the US State Department as a terrorist organisation. Such talks, he stressed, were related to his work for a conflict resolution think-tank and had no connection with his position on Mr Obama’s Middle East advisory council. “I’ve never hidden the fact that in my job with the International Crisis Group I meet all kinds of people,” he added.

Ben LaBolt, a spokesman for Mr Obama, responded swiftly: “Rob Malley has, like hundreds of other experts, provided informal advice to the campaign in the past. He has no formal role in the campaign and he will not play any role in the future.”

According to reports from the Middle East, Ben LaBolt and the Obama campaign were lying.

Report: Obama Sends Advisor Malley to Cozy Up to Egypt and Syria.

According to a report on Middle East Newsline, President-elect Barack Obama has dispatched his “senior foreign policy adviser”, Robert Malley to Egypt and Syria to outline Obama’s policy on the Middle East.

Malley reportedly relayed a promise from Obama that the United States would seek to enhance relations with Cairo and reconcile differences with Damascus.

“The tenor of the messages was that the Obama administration would take into greater account Egyptian and Syrian interests,” an aide to Malley was quoted as saying. The aide said Obama plans to launch a U.S. diplomatic initiative toward Syria. Malley met both Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad “to explain Obama’s agenda for the Middle East.”

UPDATE at 11/10/08 9:04:36 am:

An Egyptian source confirms the story from Arutz Sheva:

On the flipside, it emerged that Obama had sent his senior foreign policy advisor Robert Malley to both Cairo and Damascus these past few weeks to outline the president-elect’s plans for the region, which indicates a willingness to further strengthen ties with staunch US ally Egypt and begin boosting relations with Syria.

UPDATE at 11/10/08 11:37:19 am:

Allahpundit is skeptical, and that’s a good attitude to maintain. But Barack Obama’s lack of transparency about his past associations with anti-Israel activists is enough to keep us from discounting the story entirely. If the Obama people issue a disavowal, we’ll report that, of course.
