If you follow the money, EMS leads back to Fenton Communications, and ultimately back to the Tides Foundation. That’s the same Theresa Heinz’s Tides Foundation that gave Saint Hansen a quarter million just for giggles. You did know that Hansen is Gavin’s boss, right? If you think this is how things are supposed to be, you’re denser than I thought. Show me one skeptic anywhere in the world who received even a research grant, let alone a stringless gift like that of that magnitude. I double-dog dare you.
WTF happened to the skeptic who didn’t want to take Dan Rather’s libel at face value? Have you forgotten what put LGF on the map? It was because a good citizen debunking of the powerful propagandists attracted a lot of smart people to a site that represented the best of the web. My Open Letter To The Loozard King and his minions:
Today, Charles Johnson of 1.0, posted a misleading and patently false thread at his site whining that The Blogmocracy was participating in “Assassination Rhetoric” and “threatening the life of the President.”
Usually, I would ignore the paranoid rantings of Mr. Johnson (as it is his site and he can do whatever he wants there; as can we here) but this claim is a serious charge, and an outright LIE.
If he feels so threatened by The Blogmocracy that he must criticize us, then fine, but do so legitimately, and honestly! I welcome the competition. However, what he has done here is simply an outright lie, and serious misrepresentation of the facts dealing with exceptionally serious issues regarding our President.
The so-called proof Mr. Johnson gives of this claimed “assassination rhetoric” is a post by “Bill Jenkins” (a poster, but not Admin here) quoting Thomas Jefferson. (It is #6 on the “Leftists Love Their Autocrats” thread from yesterday.) [*at the time of Mr. Johnson's thread there were 56 posts on the "Leftists Love..." thread) There are a few major problems with Charles' claims however.
(1) The comment Mr. Johnson uses for his principal argument is not directed at the President. In fact, it isn't directed at anyone. (Go to the thread and see for yourself.) The so-called "proof" that Mr. Johnson gives that this comment is "assassination rhetoric" is that it shows a picture of President Obama with the comment. What he purposefully omits is that this picture has nothing in particular to do with the comment, but instead is just "Bill Jenkins" avatar which is attached to all his comments. Furthermore, if the comment were directed any anyone, it would have been at the subject of the overall thread: Thomas Friedman. (I am not stating however that threats towards Mr. Friedman would be proper, but they are hardly "assassination rhetoric" "threatening the life of the President."
(2) In his post, Mr. Johnson blatantly alters the original comment by adding in a link, and language that wasn't part of Bill Jenkins' post. I presume the "Lizardiods" aren't going to take my word for it, but you don't have to. This fact is evidenced by Mr. Johnson's own screenshot which he uses as so-called evidence. You will notice that in Mr. Johnson's attack, the words: "(With a picture of Barack Obama.)" [Which interestingly used to have a link to a picture, but now the link has been removed on LGF. Who is the one doing the hiding Mr. Johnson?] was added to “Bill Jenkins” comment.
The flaw in Mr. Johnson’s argument however is that there is no picture of Barack Obama there, nor was there ever! Just look at the screenshot provided. This language connecting the comment to President Obama was falsely added by Mr. Johnson to bolster his lie. As is stated in #1 above, yes there is a pic of Obama present, but it is simply the avatar that accompanies ALL of “Bill Jenkins’” comments and thus had nothing specific to do with the comment in question.
(3) Mr. Johnson then goes on to whine about some of The Blogomcracy’s posters’ statements about him. Unlike Mr. Johnson, I am not going to lie – those two statements are true, and for the most part in context. I don’t agree with these personal jokes regarding Mr. Johnson, but at least here he is not lying – they were said. I will agree, they are rude, and inappropriate – but so what! Was it not Mr. Johnson who told most of us to “get off his blog”, and if we didn’t like the restrictions, etc. on LGF that we should “go get our own blog?” Well guess what Mr. Johnson, and those “Lizardoids” reading this, WE DID. So quit your whining, and stop being so thin-skinned. You and I both know that these expressions of humor, and anger are not legitimate or actual threats against you. If we are going to participate in such purposeful melodrama over comments made at blogs, maybe we will have to take seriously all the threats against the Liberals, the U.N., the “Palestinians”, etc., that have occurred at LGF over the years.
(4) Last is Mr. Johnson’s disingenuous use of a post from a long time ago by former Admin “Avideditor” to attempt to claim that these types of posts are typical of The Blogmocracy. This claim however is again proven false by Mr. Johnson’s own so-called “proof”. He attaches screenshots from “Avideditor’s” own site complaining that we removed him as an Admin, and banned him from our site (something we rarely do) because of that comment.
This doesn’t prove that “assassination rhetoric” against the President is typical, but quite the opposite – it proves that despite our exceptionally liberal policy towards free speech on our site, and strict policy against banning people, the Admins at that time found “assassination rhetoric” against the President (even in question form) to be appalling, and beyond-the-pale and thus acted accordingly by banning the person who made the comment.
Counter to Mr. Johnson’s underlying claim, they didn’t encourage this type of rhetoric, or consider it acceptable, but instead took the huge step here to ban an Admin for said comment. This fact is further proven by the realty that “Avideditor” is angry at The Blogmocracy, and had to make his Anti-Blogmocrcy comments (those used by Mr. Johnson) from his own site and not ours!
Mr. Johnson is outright lying, and obviously thinks so low of his “lizardoids” that he expects them not to see the blaring flaws in the so-called evidence he provides. This is probably why he bans anyone that comes here, or elsewhere to find out the truth for themselves. I however think higher of them then he does apparently, and know that when provided with honest evidence they will make the right conclusion.
Assassination rhetoric against the President of The United States is a very serious offense, and something the Admins here take exceptionally serious. Not only is it against the law, it is WRONG! As Mr. Johnson inadvertently proves, when we are aware of it, we are so offended that we are even willing to ban a long time associate, and Admin because of it.
Mr. Johnson’s claims are disingenuous, false, and pathetic. Criticize us if you must, but at least have the honor to do so honestly!
(*I would have been more than happy to have posted this “face-to-face” on LGF, but we all know how that goes.)

The not-so-funny comment was made in the context of Charles Johnson revealing my personal info on his public blog. He had just revealed a persons real name that posts here. It appears it was purely out of vindictiveness.
I made that comment in the context of “if he outs me, I am not sure if I care, but then its not that long of a drive to Culver City……”
I did not mean it as an actual threat of bodily harm to Charles, although I understand why it was taken that way. So my sincere apologies to Charles Johnson for my “threat” of bodily harm.
Now of course Charles failed to mention the context of my comment which was based on his comment, I wonder why?

One big problem Chucky, I am not Pmedia. I do not post at Free Republic nor do I support some of their positions. If I had to post about you I would do that here. Following up on my post from yesterday that outed Jim Thompson, the founder of the right wing website Free Republic, for calling for a revolution to overturn the results of last November’s election, it seems the kook right wing fringe blogosphere’s case of Obama Derangement Syndrome is getting even worse. Obviously echoing Thompson’s extremist rhetoric, the kookish Sam Adams over at The Original Tea Party Guy gives us this little gem,
“The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil constitution, are worth defending against all hazards: And it is our duty to defend them against all attacks.”
But I’m sure he doesn’t mean anything violent by that, of course. Wink wink, nudge nudge. Adams’ fellow tax protestor, John Marshall who posts at the subversively named Free the Supreme Court, tells us,
“An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily, a power to destroy; because there is a limit beyond which no institution and no property can bear taxation.”
Sheesh, how does Marshall think we’re going to fund the health care we need if we don’t have taxes? He’s probably another one of those “patriots” who wants to see Obama fail to save the economy. And I’m sure he’s a racist who doesn’t want Sotomayor on the Supreme Court, either. There is something seriously wrong with the water over there in Ronpaulistan.
As another example, see the incitements to violence by Thompson’s wacko fellow-traveller at Hanover County “Patriot”,

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said she doesn’t think the recent murder of Dr. George Tiller, a late-term abortion provider, and the shooting of a security guard at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum vindicate a controversial Department of Homeland Security report issued to law enforcement about rising right-wing extremism.
The shootings were not evidence of growing violent political extremism in the United States, Napolitano said at a Thursday press briefing in Washington. “I don’t look at those murders as anything other than terrible crimes and tragedies,” Napolitano said. Stepping up her criticism of the report, Napolitano added, “I do think, as I’ve said before, that the so-called right-wing extremist report was not a well-produced product. It could and should have been done better. We’ve already taken steps within the department to improve that situation.” She did not elaborate.
Released in April, the report from the department’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis warned law enforcement that white-power militias and other right-wing extremist groups might exploit the economic downturn and the election of the nation’s first African-American president. Conservative groups immediately denounced the report, contending it insufficiently distinguished mainstream political opinions on the right from incitements to violence.
Napolitano added a limited defense of the report for placing a warning about so-called “lone wolf” attacks — in which assailants who might be motivated by political extremism to commit acts of violence without detectable signs of supporting networks that can alert law enforcement to an impending crime — within an economic context. “The right-wing report correctly identified that the circumstances in the United States now, the down economy and the like, historically are the types of circumstances that can give rise to this type of activity,” she said. “That’s why it was pointing that out for local law enforcement.”
Sheesh, didn’t she get Charlie’s memo?
Seriously, though, the highlighted part really is the crux of the matter. Nobody denies that there are always kooks, losers, yahoos, and violent nutcases out there on all ends of the political spectrum. Charles – with his spate of posts about loner nutcases killing illegal immigrants notwithstanding – hasn’t made his case at all. There is no evidence of any vast right-wing conspiracy out there. There’s no evidence of a concerted effort by “conservatives” to recruit terrorists because America now “has a black President.” Indeed, the whole reason why conservatives were so offended by the report is exactly what the article said – there is a WORLD of difference between mainstream pro-lifers, and loner nutcases who shoot abortion doctors. There’s a WORLD of difference between people who think we should end illegal immigration, and nutcases who shoot illegal immigrants. There’s a WORLD of difference between people who grumble about paying their taxes, and people who plot to blow up IRS offices.
The fact that Charles is either too stupid or too blinkered by ideology and a penchant for yellow journalism to recognise this shows again why LGF 1.0 is fast sliding into the oblivion of irrelevancy.
