Just something to think about.

This report speaks for itself, so I am going to get out of its way.

The Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life report provides a precise number for a population whose size has long has been subject to guesswork, with estimates ranging anywhere from 1 billion to 1.8 billion.

The project, three years in the making, also presents a portrait of the Muslim world that might surprise some.  For instance, Germany has more Muslims than Lebanon, China has more Muslims than Syria, Russia has more Muslims than Jordan and Libya combined, and Ethiopia has nearly as many Muslims as Afghanistan.

The arduous task of determining the Muslim populations in 232 countries and territories involved analyzing census reports, demographic studies and general population surveys, the report says.  In cases where the data was a few years old, researchers projected 2009 numbers.

The report provides further evidence that while the heart of Islam might beat in the Middle East, its greatest numbers lie in Asia: More than 60 percent of the world’s Muslims live in Asia.

About 20 percent live in the Middle East and North Africa, 15 percent live in Sub-Saharan Africa, 2.4 percent are in Europe and 0.3 percent are in the Americas. While the Middle East and North Africa have fewer Muslims overall than Asia, the region easily claims the most Muslim-majority countries.

While those population trends are well established, the large numbers of Muslims who live as minorities in countries aren’t as scrutinized.  The report identified about 317 million Muslims — or one-fifth of the world’s Muslim population — living in countries where Islam is not the majority religion.

About three-quarters of Muslims living as minorities are concentrated in five countries: India (161 million), Ethiopia (28 million), China (22 million), Russia (16 million) and Tanzania (13 million).

In several of these countries — from India to Nigeria and China to France — divisions featuring a volatile mix of religion, class and politics have contributed to tension and bloodshed among groups.

Europe is home to about 38 million Muslims, or about five percent of its population. Germany appears to have more than 4 million Muslims — almost as many as North and South America combined. In France, where tensions have run high over an influx of Muslim immigrant laborers, the overall numbers were lower but a larger percentage of the population is Muslim.

_ Of roughly 4.6 million Muslims in the Americas, more than half live in the United States although they only make up 0.8 percent of the population there. About 700,000 people in Canada are Muslim, or about 2 percent of the total population.

“Jewish Leaders” Meet With Obama & What They Should Have Said

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

This week President Obama met with so-called “Jewish Leaders” (none of them speak for me or anyone I know) wherein he lectured them on how they are going to have to accept that his attacks on Israel, and pandering to the Arabs, is really in Israel’s best interest.  Our President,  the Middle East policy neophite, lectured Israel, though these “leaders”, by instructing to them that when it comes to their national security, Israel would have “to engage in serious self-reflection.”

Despite what these hand-picked liberal “Jewish leaders” might have thought, this was not an opportunity for Obama to learn but instead to give the Jews their marching orders.  As the The Jerusalem Post correctly points out in its editorial section: “Whenever American Jewish leaders are invited to the White House to talk about Israel – as 16 were on Monday evening – the prime purpose of the invitation is not to give the machers an opportunity to sway the leader of the free world, though their views may be genuinely sought, but for the administration to diminish the prospect of them lobbying against the president’s policies.”

As usual, one of the most pressing issues of this meeting was Obama’s obsession, and insistence that the Post-1967 Jewish neighborhoods be destroyed, made judenrein, and handed over on a silver platter to the Arabs of Judea and Samaria  This is most likely why his hand picked Jews were known not to be supporters of the Post-1967 Jewish neighborhoods of Yesha – ZOA, Chabad, and many other Pro-Israel leaders (including Non-Jewish Zionists) were not invited.

Before President Obama pressures Israel to uproot its citizens from Judea and Samaria, and create another tragedy like the 2005 Gaza expulsion, he should consider the following facts as arranged by Samara Greenburg.

http://www2.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2005-04/08/xin_320402080904719199648.jpgOn June 4, 2009, President Barack Obama delivered his much-anticipated speech to the Muslim world from Cairo, Egypt. Mr. Obama asserted that he will pursue the creation of a Palestinian state and that Israeli settlement growth must be stopped because it is illegitimate. The previous week, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated, “He [Obama] wants to see a stop to settlements — not some settlements, not outposts, not ‘natural growth’ exceptions.”

The Palestinians cite settlements as the most significant obstacle to peace. Much of the Arab world supports that narrative. Now, it appears, the current U.S. administration does, too. However, the administration may be ignoring key aspects of the debate, and in the process, placing undue stress on a Middle East ally committed to peace with its neighbors.

Settlements in context

Settlement activity began after Israel’s victory in the 1967 Six Day War, a preemptive and defensive battle whereby the Israeli military surprised even its own top brass when it gained control over the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Sinai Peninsula, east Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. During the initial settlement period, between 1967 and 1977, the territories were viewed as bargaining chips that Israel could, in the future, trade for recognition and peace. Jerusalem authorized limited settlement activity based on national security, according to the Alon Plan. This plan, created by Israeli Defense Minister Yigal Alon in 1967, spawned a string of settlements in strategic areas along the Jordan Valley to create a line of protection around the country’s vulnerable midsection. Indeed, many settlements began as military stations located in strategic but uninhabited areas.

In 1977, Israel’s Likud Party rose to power. Under Ariel Sharon, the so-called “grandfather of the settlements,” the settlement project skyrocketed. Prior to 1977, 4,500 Israelis lived in 36 settlements — 31 in the West Bank and five in the Gaza Strip. By 1981, West Bank settlers nearly quadrupled to over 16,000. With the party’s second victory in 1981, the settlement project became a state-sponsored venture involving subsidies to encourage growth. By 1990, the West Bank settler population reached over 78,000.

Today, there are 187,000 settlers in the West Bank. And while that number indicates significant expansion since 1967, Israeli settlements comprise only a small area of the West Bank. According to the Palestine Monitor, less than three percent of the West Bank is dotted by settlements and Israeli military or industrial facilities. Moreover, settlers amount to less than 10 percent of the West Bank’s population of 2,461,267.

Settlements built, settlements destroyed

However, even if Israelis constituted a more sizable percentage of the West Bank population, settlements are not an obstacle to peace. They are impermanent. Indeed, Israeli leaders on both the Left and the Right have repeatedly illustrated their willingness to vacate settlements in exchange for peace.

After the peace treaty between Israel and Egypt in 1979, Israel uprooted its settlements in April 1982 from the Sinai Peninsula, an area measuring some 22,500 square miles, in exchange for peace. The majority of settlers left without protest. Those who didn’t were evacuated forcefully by the Israel Defense Force (IDF) in accordance with then-Minister of Defense Ariel Sharon’s orders. Israel also relinquished the Alma Oil Field, which it discovered and developed, and would have made Israel an oil exporter; dozens of early warning stations; and military installations, such as airfields and a naval base.

The Sinai evacuation was not an isolated incident. In 2005, Israel again vacated settlements in what Prime Minister Ariel Sharon called a “unilateral security step of disengagement.” Sharon dismantled all 21 settlements in the Gaza Strip and four in the West Bank. The evacuation process, which lasted five days, uprooted approximately 8,500 civilians. Like in Sinai, evacuating the settlers was no easy task. In some towns, settlers protested from their rooftops, throwing paint, foam, and other liquids at the soldiers.

Israel also demonstrated its willingness to relinquish land for peace in negotiations with Palestinians. In December 2000, under the auspices of former President Bill Clinton, Israel agreed to offer the Palestinians a sovereign Palestinian state on roughly 96 percent of the West Bank and 100 percent of Gaza, as well as sovereignty over the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and control over Arab sections of Jerusalem. The plan afforded Israel just four to six percent of the West Bank — areas housing 80 percent of the settlers, as well as key early warning military stations. The Palestinians, under Yasser Arafat, rejected the plan. Israel offered to relinquish even more settlements during final status talks at Taba in January 2001, to no avail.

The price of withdrawal

Israeli withdrawal from settlements has yielded, at best, negligible gains. At worst, it has brought bloodshed.

After Israel withdrew from the Sinai Peninsula pursuant to its peace treaty with Egypt, the two countries established full diplomatic ties. However, peace between Egypt and Israel is cold. Trade relations between the countries are minuscule. Rather than pursue normalization, Egypt leads a campaign of hate against Israel. Egypt’s state-run media is rife with anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli themes. Cartoons depict Israelis with horns and tails, and equate Israel with Nazis. In 2002, Egyptian state-owned television aired a Ramadan series based on the anti-Semitic tract The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

Israel’s 2005 withdrawal from Gaza led to an increase in violence; the Palestinians perceived the withdrawal as a testament to the success of terrorism. Indeed, as Israel withdrew, Palestinian gunmen even fired at the IDF. Only minutes after the last Israeli soldier left the Gaza Strip, Palestinians poured into the abandoned Jewish communities of Morag, Netzarim, Kfar Darom, and Neve Dekalim, and set fire to synagogues.

In fact, since vacating Gaza in 2005, Israel has experienced a 500 percent increase in terror attacks. From disengagement until Hamas’ June 2007 bloody takeover of the Gaza Strip (wresting control from the Palestinian Authority), Palestinians fired 1,438 missiles into Israeli cities from Gaza. In 2008, Gazans fired a total of 1,752 rockets into Israel; 223 were launched during the “ceasefire” between June and December. This year alone, the Palestinians fired no less than 542 rockets into Israel.

A Judenrein West Bank?

Today, Palestinian leaders, backed by the Arab world, insist that all Jews must leave the West Bank in order for peace to be achieved. This is problematic for several reasons.

Currently, more than one million Arab citizens live in Israel. Arab Israelis have full and equal rights pursuant to Israel’s Declaration of Independence, which guarantees “freedom of religion, conscience, language, education, and culture.” Since 1948, Arab Israelis have run the political and administrative affairs of Arab majority municipalities and have elected representatives to the Knesset, Israel’s parliament.

Why, then, should the West Bank’s Jewish residents be prohibited from enjoying similar rights in an eventual Palestinian state? Jewish settlements in the West Bank, such as Hebron, have existed for centuries, dating back to before the birth of Prophet Muhammad. In fact, the only country in over 1,000 years to bar Jewish settlement in the West Bank was Jordan (then Transjordan) after the 1948 war. The Palestinians, should they assume control of the West Bank, have made it clear that they, too, seek a Judenrein state. Current Palestinian Authority law makes selling land to Jews punishable by death.

West Bank solutions

Forcing Jews from their homes in the West Bank is unnecessary for a successful Middle East peace plan. Two popular solutions allow for settlements to remain in the West Bank.

The first solution — a plan supported by Arab-Israeli dialogue activist Rabbi Menachem Fruman — calls for a future Palestinian state to have a Jewish minority. In this way, West Bank settlements should be seen as part of a future Palestinian state, and Jewish settlers as its future citizens. Of course, living in a Palestinian state may cause concern for some Jewish settlers, given the anti-Israel or even anti-Semitic views held by many Palestinians. Others, however, will want to stay because they believe the land is a part of the Jewish biblical homeland. Either way, settlers would ultimately determine if they want to stay or leave — not the United States.

The second solution, touted by U.S. presidents for the last decade, holds that Israel would retain settlements close to the country’s pre-1967 border in any peace agreement, as those settlements are home to almost 80 percent of West Bank Jews. In return, the Palestinians will be compensated with land from within Israel’s Green Line. This “land swap” was the vision of the Clinton administration at Camp David in 2000 and at Taba in 2001. It was also embraced by the Bush administration, outlined in letters between Israel and the United States in 2004.

Foreign policy priorities

The president’s focus on Israeli settlements appears incongruous with other foreign threats. Even amidst anti-government protests, the Islamic Republic of Iran marches forward with its nuclear weapons program. It is doubtful that Israeli settlements are a more pressing issue than this. Now, however, the only two countries with the will and capabilities to disrupt or destroy the Iranian nuclear program are sidetracked by a diversion from the Iranian nuclear issue, which threatens Middle East peace and U.S. interests around the world.

Obama Increases Aid to Muslim Countries

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Mr. “I don’t want to meddle in other Countries’ business (*if they are Muslim)” is upping U.S. aid to Islamic Dictatorships.  They deserve it right? I mean, they do so much for the U.S, and besides, it isn’t like we are in a recession.  Right?…..right?…..

Obama Bows To Saudi KingIn the latest in a recent series of increased American assistance efforts for Arab and Muslim states, U.S. President Barack Obama has allocated an additional $150 million to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The regimes leading Egypt, the Palestinian Authority, the United Arab Emirates and even Saudi Arabia have all benefited from recent American policy shifts.

Jordan’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Suhair Al-Ali, was quoted by The Jordan Times as explaining that the [Jordanian] kingdom receives $363 million annually from the United States in economic assistance. The allocations signed into law by Obama this week mean that Jordan will receive a total of $513 million from the U.S. in 2009. The minister told the Jordanian newspaper that the additional American aid was the result of ongoing efforts by Jordan’s King Abdullah II, as well as Obama’s “recognition of the important role Jordan plays in the region.”

Egypt received $310 million in supplemental appropriations from the U.S. House of Representatives, currently controlled by Obama’s Democratic party. At the same time, 2009 State Department funding for the promotion of democratic initiatives in Egypt was cut from $50 million to $20 million. In addition, the U.S. has agreed not to give any of the pro-democracy funds to organizations that are not approved by the Mubarak regime. In the year 2007, Egypt received a total of $2.4 billion.

On another front, in March of this year, it was reported that the Obama administration planned to dramatically increase funding to the Palestinian Authority for security training, which is conducted by Jordanian police under the supervision of U.S. General Keith Dayton. The U.S. allocated $75 million for the PA police training in 2008, but reports indicated that the Obama administration was planning to pump up to $130 million into the program in 2009In.  In any event, the U.S. has already pledged $600 million in funds to the Palestinian Authority, with another $300 million for humanitarian aid to the Hamas regime in Gaza.

Elsewhere in the region, the U.S. is set to help the United Arab Emirates become the first Arab nation with a developed nuclear power infrastructure. President Obama gave his official support and authorization for the $41 billion project, allowing private U.S. companies to compete for construction contracts.

In Pakistan, the U.S. president proposed $2.8 billion in aid for that nation’s military, alongside civilian aid of $1.5 billion a year for the next five years. The military aid is ostensibly to allow the Pakistanis to more effectively fight jihadist and al-Qaeda terrorism emanating from the Swat Valley and along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

The Obama administration’s assistance to Arab and Muslim states extends beyond the monetary, however.

According to an article in Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin earlier this month, the American government has petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to preserve sovereign immunity for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and four Saudi princes in connection with a civil case seeking compensation for victims of the massive September 11, 2001, al-Qaeda terrorist attacks on the American homeland. The claimants in the case say that there is sufficient evidence of Saudi involvement in 9/11 for the court to lift the normally applicable immunity.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Saud al-Faisal, told Newsweek magazine this month that the United States should cut off all aid to Israel if the Jewish State does not accept the 2002 Saudi-sponsored Arab-Israeli terms of negotiation.

The Exodus Obama Forgot to Mention

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Great Op-Ed in the NYTimes:
The Exodus Obama Forgot to Mention

PRESIDENT OBAMA’S speech to the Islamic world was a groundbreaking event. Never before has a young, dynamic American president, beloved both by his countrymen and the nations of the world, extended so timely and eager a hand to a part of the globe that, recently, had seen fewer and fewer reasons to trust us or to wish us well.

And yet, for all the president’s talk of “a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world” and shared “principles of justice and progress,” neither he nor anyone around him, and certainly no one in the audience, bothered to notice one small detail missing from the speech: he forgot me.

The president never said a word about me. Or, for that matter, about any of the other 800,000 or so Jews born in the Middle East who fled the Arab and Muslim world or who were summarily expelled for being Jewish in the 20th century. With all his references to the history of Islam and to its (questionable) “proud tradition of tolerance” of other faiths, Mr. Obama never said anything about those Jews whose ancestors had been living in Arab lands long before the advent of Islam but were its first victims once rampant nationalism swept over the Arab world.

Nor did he bother to mention that with this flight and expulsion, Jewish assets were — let’s call it by its proper name — looted. Mr. Obama never mentioned the belongings I still own in Egypt and will never recover. My mother’s house, my father’s factory, our life in Egypt, our friends, our books, our cars, my bicycle. We are, each one of us, not just defined by the arrangement of protein molecules in our cells, but also by the things we call our own. Take away our things and something in us dies. Losing his wealth, his home, the life he had built, killed my father. He didn’t die right away; it took four decades of exile to finish him off.

When Egypt Occupied Gaza

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_u-AKWDZaYso/R9dC65Cmp1I/AAAAAAAACMM/MpasBVcWE0Y/s400/Palestinian_lynch.jpgFollowing the footsteps of all Western leaders before him in recent history, President Obama has waxed poetic on the need to fulfill the dreams of every Phakestinian by providing them with a ”much deserved” State.  (Even comparing Phakestinian suffering to the Jews in the Holocaust)

His statements, and policy is based on many false assumptions, but none more influential than the repeatedly proven false belief that the Phakestinians are suffering from an unprecedented “occupation” by Israel, and that they actually want to live side-by-side with Israel in peace within their own Country.

Carl In Jerusalem, does a fantastic job explaining the folly of this assumption, and gives a bit of a history lesson on the Arab-Israel conflict from an angle that is often not discussed: When Egypt Occupied Gaza.

Below are excepts from Carl In Jerusalem.

_______________________________________

Egypt occupied the Gaza Strip from 1948-67.  Had they chosen to do so, and if the real goal of the ‘Palestinians’ and the Arab countries had been to do so, Egypt could have granted Gaza independence as a ‘Palestinian’ state. (Jordan could have done the same with the ‘West Bank’).

But that was not Egypt’s goal and the Arab countries have no interest in the ‘Palestinians’ or a ‘Palestinian state.’ Here are a couple of examples of how the ‘refugees’ in Gaza were treated in the 1960’s, long before there was any ‘occupation.’

Egypt’s policy for the Strip was succinctly spelled out by the deputy governor, Muhammad Flafaga, in an interview appearing in the Danish newspaper Aktuelt on February 9, 1967:

  • Question: Why not send the refugees to other Arab countries? Syria would no doubt be able to absorb a vast number of them. Are you afraid that national bonds with Palestine will be loosened, that the hatred against Israel will vanish if they become ordinary citizens?
  • Answer: As a matter of fact, you are right. Syria could take all of them, and the problem would be solved. But we do not want that. They are to return to Palestine.

UNRWA reported in 1956: “One of the obstacles to the achievement of the General Assembly’s goal of making the refugees self-supporting continues to be the opposition of the governments in the area.”

Ralph Galloway, an UNRWA official who quit in frustration, observed bitterly: “The Arab states don’t want to solve the refugee problem. They want to keep it as an open sore, as a weapon against Israel. Arab leaders don’t give a damn whether the refugees live or die.”

No discussion about the Arab-Israel conflict would not be complete without mentioning the 1974 P.L.O. Phased Plan.

One of the major reasons why the Arab-Israel conflict has yet to be resolved is because we don’t allow ourselves to properly understand it, and instead naively cling to baseless assumptions regarding the Arab goals; namely destroying Israel.

The “Disengagement” from Gaza in 2005 is a recent blaring example of this.

U.S. Training “Palestinian” Army; Warns They Might Become Terrorists

Friday, May 15th, 2009

Since at least 2006, the U.S. has been funding and training -to the tune of 161 million American tax dollars so far- a huge, and professional “Palestinian” army to take over when if they get another state.  The individual heading this future debacle is Lt. Gen. Keith Dayton, U.S. security coordinator for Israel and the Palestinian Authority.   Lt. Gen Dayton has lived and worked in Jerusalem and across the West Bank, overseeing the creation of three “Palestinian” battalions of troops, hand-picked in the West Bank, trained at an academy in Jordan, and then deployed in the Judea and Samaria.  These three 500-man battalions are intended to grow, to as many as ten battalions.  During a speak to the  Washington Institute for Near East Policy (”WINEP”) Dayton stated that their mission is to “create a Palestinian state.

Frighteningly, the training which has already occurred is only the beginning.  While speaking in Tukarm (In Judea/Samaria) Lt. Gen Dayton stated that “If it goes the way the administration has asked for, we will accelerate dramatically what we are doing here in terms of training and equipment, and filling in the gaps in between.”

The additional training program requires approval from Congress for more funding that would allow the construction for more “Palestinian” military bases in Judea and Samaria.  Without defining the cost of the additional training and construction, Dayton stated it will entail “more financial support than we have ever had before.”  That is quite a statement about a group that has received more than 1 billions dollars per year from the U.S. alone.

Both the past Bush administration and the current Obama government declared the training helps the standing and security of PA Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas, who they foolishly consider a moderate peace partner for Israel, despite his refusal to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state, and his “government’s” policy of killing people who sell land to Jews.

This brilliant idea was born of the naive belief that these troops would primarily be deployed against two targets in Judea & Samaria: criminal gangs, and Hamas.  Lt. Gen. Dayton is no dummy.  He fully recognizes that by organizing and training thousands of highly organized “Palestinians”, professionally led, he is creating in effect a nationalist army that like all other attempts to train, fund, and outfit “Palestinians” will be used against Israel.  From his comments to WINEP, you would think that this was actually his intent.

Responding to a question from Paul Wolfowitz, Dayton responded to these concerns by issuing a not-so vailed threat to Israel stating that:  “the troops can only be strung along for just so long…there is perhaps a two-year shelf life on being told that you’re creating a state, when you’re not.”

‘PA Army May Rebel’ if Israel Does not Agree to Peace Demands

His comments were tantamount to a warning that a rebellion is around the corner if Israel does not agree to PA demands, according to investigative journalist Robert Dreyfuss, writing in The Nation magazine.

“To my ears, at least, his subtle warning is that if concrete progress isn’t made toward a Palestinian state, the very troops Dayton is assembling could rebel,” wrote Dreyfuss, who also has authored a book blaming the United States and Israel for having allegedly encouraged the existence of Hamas as a way to weaken former Palestinian Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat.

In his speech, Dayton did not detail methods used by the PA security forces, but Human Watch Rights has accused the PA and Hamas of resorting torture to as well as summary executions.  One PA Arab is on death row for the stated crime of selling property to Jews.

He focused on the “national security interest of the United States to help resolve the Israeli-Palestinian dispute” and his re-shaping the PA forces. He said that his position as U.S. Security Coordinator was created “to allay Israeli fears about the nature and capabilities of the Palestinian security forces,” a term used instead of “soldiers” in order not to conjure up an image of a military force in the PA.

However, his comment on the consequences of the failure to establish a new PA state indicated that the PA army – or special force –  might use its counterterrorist training to attack Israel as well as possibly rebel against the PA.

Several terrorist attacks and attempted attacks the past two years have involved PA security forces. In January, 2008, a PA security officer, a PA clerk and a third terrorist were involved in the murders of Ahikam Amihai and David Rubin who were hiking near Hevron. One of the victims managed to kill one of the attackers before succumbing to his own wounds. A third youth escaped unharmed.

Beyond the obvious problems with this scenario (the cost to the American tax payer, the threat to Israel) the training of these troops actually directly conflicts with the “Palestinian” responsibilities per the Oslo Accords -signed by them in 1993 -which limit “Palestinian” military activities. So, once again, while the U.S. is insisting that Israel follow past agreements, they are allowing (and in this case directly assisting) the Arabs flaunt their obligations.

This isn’t the first time that the U.S., or Israel has tried the “let’s train them, and arm them; what could go wrong” tactic towards Arab-Israel peace.  If it were, I just might give it the benefit of the doubt -because I want peace as much, if not more, than the next person.

In only 2006, after the U.S. transferred weapons, money, and training to Abu Mazen’s (Mahmood Abbas) personal “Force 17″, the “Palestinians” stated that they would never use any force against their own people, or Hamas, but instead would us all weapons transferred from the U.S. against Israel.  True to their word, not too long thereafter the weapons were used in a terrorist attack against Israel.

In 2007, (after numerous weapon transfers from the U.S. and Israel) while Hamas was squabbling with Fatah, Palestinian Authority President, Abu Mazen, called on Palestinian factions to put an end to weeks of infighting and instead “raise rifles against the Israeli occupation.”

First Israelite Sites Built After Exodus Found?

Monday, April 6th, 2009

Once again, archaeologists have found tangible evidence that leans towards the Bible’s accounts of History.  Of course however, nothing will ever be enough scientific proof for some skeptics.  Nonetheless, this discovery is very exciting, and quite timely!

___________________________________

A Haifa University archaeologist on Monday said he has unearthed structures in the shape of human feet believed to have been erected by the Israelites upon their initial entry to the Land of Canaan.

Prof. Adam Zertal said that the large compounds discovered in the Jordan Valley were “the first sites to have been built by the Israelites upon entering Canaan and manifest the biblical notion of claiming ownership of the land by setting feet on it.”

Prof. Zertal’s excavation team uncovered five large foot-shaped compounds that he identifies as the biblical site of Gilgal.

Most contemporary archaeologists do not consider the Israelite Exodus from Egypt and the conquest of Israel to be verifiable historical events.   Zertal is one of the few Israeli archaeologists who claim to have found archaeological evidence supporting the Israelite entrance to Canaan.

Zertal’s most famous discovery is a compound on Mount Ebal near Nablus, which he identified as the site of the Covenant ceremony depicted in the biblical Book of Joshua.  Other archaeologists have identified that site as a watchtower.

Zertal has also recently claimed to have found clay markings unique to early Israelites, around the time of the conquest of Canaan described in the Bible.

According to the Book of Joshua, the Israelites arrived at Gilgal after having crossed the Jordan River. Some researchers have claimed that Gilgal is named after the collection of stones at the site that were used during various rituals, but no archaeological evidence has been discovered to support that claim.

Since 1990, five sites shaped like human feet have been excavated in the Jordan Valley. All five date back to the early Iron Age (12th to 13th centuries B.C.E.), and their shapes indicate that they were used as communal gathering places.

Zertal said that the foot-shaped sites were used during ceremonies following the Israelites’ entry into the Land of Canaan.  He added that the concept of the Jewish pilgrimage to Jerusalem on three major holidays (known as “aliya la’regel” or ascending on foot) also originates from the foot-shaped sites in the Jordan Valley and Mount Ebal.

Let me tell you a very short story, so that you understand their way of thinking. The Jews do not know how to climb from the bottom up. They do not want to meet poor people, and then climb up, in order to reach the rulers of any country. Instead, they go straight to the rulers. [...]

The corruption spread by the Jews was very great. Very great. It got to the point that the rulers themselves had no solution but to annihilate them. This was said even by the rulers of America themselves. You see that America supports Israel, but this is partly because it hates and fears Israel, since the [Jews] are corruptors. Most of the U.S. rulers said to the American people: We’d better give them a place of their own, and keep them and their evil at bay from our European countries. They wanted to places them in a country of their own, far from anything to do with the European peoples.

In a nutshell, the holocausts of the Jews in Germany were because of their own deeds. They were killing Germans, kindling civil strife, inciting the people against their rulers, and corrupting the peoples. “Every time they kindle the fire of war, Allah extinguishes it.” Let me show you what corruption they caused, and what damage they inflicted upon all the countries of the world – upon peoples and governments alike. Let’s watch the holocaust that the Jews underwent, which were Allah’s way of wreaking vengeance upon them. Let’s watch what the German people, or the German army, did to them. This is, of course, a part of the corruption of Germany by the Jews. [...]

These people like to spread corruption, and when they can’t, they look for those who can, and encourage them to do it. Back in those days, it was England that they encouraged to spread corruption. This is Germany, and this is the destruction it suffered in 1945.

Observe these cities, and think about what exactly is happening. These are the armies that Israel encouraged to corrupt and destroy the German army and country. See the rubble and the dead people on the ground. The world was dying – country and civilization was being annihilated. This is what the Jews did. The Germans were, of course, strong. When they realized that the Jews were behind all this, they took revenge on them. They were not weak, as the Muslims are today. They had something different in mind. Let’s watch what Germany did to Israel – or rather, to the Jews – so we can understand that there is no remedy for these people, other than imposing fear and terror on them.

There is one language that the Jews understand – the language of force. If you are stronger than them, they are afraid of you. That is why Allah said: “They fear you in their hearts more than Allah.” Allah said: “Prepare for them whatever force and steeds of war you can, to strike terror in the hearts of Allah’s enemies and your enemies.” The Jews is afraid of you more than he is afraid of God. When the Germans revealed the treachery and the war of the Jews against them, and the fact that they were spreading corruption in their country – let us watch how oppressors are killed by the people they oppressed.

What we have here are German graves, but let’s watch what the Germans do to the Jews. These are corpses of dead humans and the shattered bones of Jews. Here we have a crematorium, in which the Jews were burnt. These are Jews who are being prepared to be burnt. Look, these are Jews dying of hunger or by gas. Look how they round them up and put them on trucks. Note the humiliation on his face, Allah be praised. “Abasement and humiliation were brought down upon them, and they became deserving of Allah’s wrath.”

UPDATE:

Here is a little bit more from that subhuman:

Look what starvation [the Germans] inflicted upon them. Look what humiliation. These are people being buried alive. Does this look like a human being? He is placed in a ditch to be buried alive. This is a pile of bodies. Ibn Mas’oud was right… Look, this is a barbed wire, used to crush their bodies. He and five others will be hanged with a single chain. Concentrate on this, my brothers. Watch this. Look, they are tying five heads together. These are bodies. Here they are drilling a hole in his back with a nail. This child awaits his turn. Watch their humiliation. These are corpses, Allah be praised. The [Jews] are oppressors. They are being deported. Ibn Mas’oud was right when he said: “All the oppressors are killed by those they oppress.” These are bodies, these are dead people, these are skulls. These are the bodies of the Jews being loaded like animals. Watch this tractor clearing away the corpses of the Jews, and these are the refugees awaiting their turn to be killed. A German soldier will come now, and you will see a Jewish woman kissing his hand. Notice what humiliation, fear, and terror have struck her. See how much she is kissing his hand. Watch her humiliation. This is what we hope will happen, but, Allah willing, at the hand of the Muslims….

Photo Essay: Gaza’s (Literal) Underground Economy

Since Hamas gained control of Gaza in June 2007, Israel has blockaded the flow of goods into and out of the territory. But when trade is closed aboveground, the economy simply moves underground, in more ways than one.

Only one of the pictures shows the actual weapons smuggling. I guess the elites want us to believe they are mainly smuggling “goods” and bovines.
