Bret Stephens Agrees: Obama Is An Anti-Human Rights President

Blogmocracy In Action!

Guest Post by “Delectable”

I have repeatedly stated that Obama is at war with human rights around the globe.  On Blogmocracy, I have called him an anti-human rights president.  He backs the oppression of humanity in every country on earth, without any exception I am aware of.  This great article, written by Bret Stephens, explains this well.

Nobody should get too hung up over President Obama’s decision, reported by Der Spiegel over the weekend, to cancel plans to attend next month’s 20th anniversary celebration of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Germany’s reunited capital has already served his purposes; why should he serve its?

China: In February, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton landed in Beijing with a conciliating message about the country’s human-rights record. “Our pressing on those [human-rights] issues can’t interfere on the global economic crisis, the global climate change crisis and the security crisis,” she said.

In fact, there has been no pressing whatsoever on human rights. President Obama refused to meet with the Dalai Lama last month, presumably so as not to ruffle feathers with the people who will now be financing his debts. In June, Liu Xiaobo, a leading signatory of the pro-democracy Charter 08 movement, was charged with “inciting subversion of state power.” But as a U.S. Embassy spokesman in Beijing admitted to the Journal, “neither the White House nor Secretary Clinton have made any public comments on Liu Xiaobo.”

Sudan: In 2008, candidate Obama issued a statement insisting that “there must be real pressure placed on the Sudanese government. We know from past experience that it will take a great deal to get them to do the right thing. . . . The U.N. Security Council should impose tough sanctions on the Khartoum government immediately.”

Exactly right. So what should Mr. Obama do as president? Yesterday, the State Department rolled out its new policy toward Sudan, based on “a menu of incentives and disincentives” for the genocidal Sudanese government of Omar Bashir. It’s the kind of menu Mr. Bashir will languidly pick his way through till he dies comfortably in his bed.

Iran: Mr. Obama’s week-long silence on Iran’s “internal affairs” following June’s fraudulent re-election was widely noted. Not so widely noted are the administration’s attempts to put maximum distance between itself and human-rights groups working the Iran beat.

Earlier this year, the State Department denied a grant request for New Haven, Conn.-based Iran Human Rights Documentation Center. The Center maintains perhaps the most extensive record anywhere of Iran’s 30-year history of brutality. The grant denial was part of a pattern: The administration also abruptly ended funding for Freedom House’s Gozaar project, an online Farsi- and English-language forum for discussing political issues.

It’s easy to see why Tehran would want these groups de-funded and shut down. But why should the administration, except as a form of pre-emptive appeasement?

In Massachusetts not long ago, I found myself driving behind a car with “Free Tibet,” “Save Darfur,” and “Obama 08″ bumper stickers.  I wonder if it will ever dawn on the owner of that car that at least one of those stickers doesn’t belong.

There is more – please read it all!

It is important to be aware that Obama is a self-styled progressive.  The anti-human rights nature of our progressive president shows the cognitive dissonance of the trans-nationalists (or “tranzis”) who pretend to believe in universal ideals of “hope” and “change,” only to then later stand for stagnation and despair when they enter office.
It thus is no surprise that Obama should follow this anti-human rights pattern.  And it is no surprise to me that Obama refuses to use his UN veto against the Goldstone defamation report against Israel. He thus will apparently be pushing for action on the Goldstone Report – including possible sanctions against Israel (a democractic state which adheres to the highest ideals of human rights) - while blocking sanctions against Iran (a thugocracy that shoots its citizens in the streets and rapes and tortures its prisoners).
This is where Obama stands today.  He has revealed himself as the anti-human rights president.  The good news is that others are starting to see this.

Progressives and Gun Control

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

Progressive Icon and founder of Modern China, Chairman China Mao Zedong once made these famous quotes.

Every Communist must grasp the truth ‘Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun’.

Interesting that American Progressives want Gun Control and disarm Americans.

People doubt that Hitler was a progressive Leftists, here is Mao’s own words!

This man Hitler was even more ferocious. The more ferocious the better, don’t you think? The more people you kill, the more revolutionary you are.

Mao, a radical Progressive Leftist calling Hitler a revolutionary! Interesting, isn’t it since we are taught Hitler was Rightwing!

Well here’s a video I posted a few moths ago on this subject.

Yeah Hitler who is praised by Mao, was a Rightwinger? That is the biggest lie spewed by Progressives. Hitler like Mao. was a man of the revolutionary Left.

Anyway, my point is that all these Progressive Regimes have one thing in common, Gun Control. Here is the result of what Gun Control does!

This is why we must defend the 2nd Amendment and not allow Progressives to disarm us.

Update: Here are the 2 progressive Tyrants of Venezuela and Ecuador: Hugo Chavez and Rafael Correa singing.

Nearly 1 in 4 People Worldwide Are Muslim

Just something to think about.

This report speaks for itself, so I am going to get out of its way.

The Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life report provides a precise number for a population whose size has long has been subject to guesswork, with estimates ranging anywhere from 1 billion to 1.8 billion.

The project, three years in the making, also presents a portrait of the Muslim world that might surprise some.  For instance, Germany has more Muslims than Lebanon, China has more Muslims than Syria, Russia has more Muslims than Jordan and Libya combined, and Ethiopia has nearly as many Muslims as Afghanistan.

The arduous task of determining the Muslim populations in 232 countries and territories involved analyzing census reports, demographic studies and general population surveys, the report says.  In cases where the data was a few years old, researchers projected 2009 numbers.

The report provides further evidence that while the heart of Islam might beat in the Middle East, its greatest numbers lie in Asia: More than 60 percent of the world’s Muslims live in Asia.

About 20 percent live in the Middle East and North Africa, 15 percent live in Sub-Saharan Africa, 2.4 percent are in Europe and 0.3 percent are in the Americas. While the Middle East and North Africa have fewer Muslims overall than Asia, the region easily claims the most Muslim-majority countries.

While those population trends are well established, the large numbers of Muslims who live as minorities in countries aren’t as scrutinized.  The report identified about 317 million Muslims — or one-fifth of the world’s Muslim population — living in countries where Islam is not the majority religion.

About three-quarters of Muslims living as minorities are concentrated in five countries: India (161 million), Ethiopia (28 million), China (22 million), Russia (16 million) and Tanzania (13 million).

In several of these countries — from India to Nigeria and China to France — divisions featuring a volatile mix of religion, class and politics have contributed to tension and bloodshed among groups.

Europe is home to about 38 million Muslims, or about five percent of its population. Germany appears to have more than 4 million Muslims — almost as many as North and South America combined. In France, where tensions have run high over an influx of Muslim immigrant laborers, the overall numbers were lower but a larger percentage of the population is Muslim.

_ Of roughly 4.6 million Muslims in the Americas, more than half live in the United States although they only make up 0.8 percent of the population there. About 700,000 people in Canada are Muslim, or about 2 percent of the total population.

The Decline of the Dollar and the US Economy

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Good morning Blogmocracy Netizens! As always, I come bearing bad news this morning, I really wish it was otherwise.

The US Economy under the Progressive Regime in Washington is pursuing a policy of control. They are empowering their favorite corporations like Goldman Sachs and GE, at the expense of the Free Market. The Obama Junta and its Congressional partners in crime are increasing our debt, hence weakening our currency and burdening our economy. This is having the double effect of making our economy uncompetitive and lowering our future living standards.

GENEVA (Reuters) – Switzerland knocked the United States off the position as the world’s most competitive economy as the crash of the U.S. banking system left it more exposed to some long-standing weaknesses, a report said on Tuesday.

The World Economic Forum’s global competitiveness report 2009/2010 showed economies with a large focus on financial services such as the U.S., Britain or Iceland were the losers of the crisis.

The U.S. as the world’s largest economy lost last year’s strong lead, slipping to number two for the first time since the introduction of the index in its current form in 2004.

This report is damning and in an age of Global Economics, losing the competitive edge turns off investors. We need to make our economy freer not more regulated. By having massive government intervention, it discourages investors from putting their capital in the US.

The bigger the government, the more money it uses. The Obama regime is expanding the role of the government and by running a massive 1.8 Trillion dollar deficit it is sucking up capital out of the markets. This borrowed money is coming from places like China. The Chinese are now concerned about our spending, because as the dollar loses value, their investments lose value as well. As investors, they are concerned over our spending.

Cheng Siwei, former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee and now head of China’s green energy drive, said Beijing was dismayed by the Fed’s recourse to “credit easing”.

“We hope there will be a change in monetary policy as soon as they have positive growth again,” he said at the Ambrosetti Workshop, a policy gathering on Lake Como.

“If they keep printing money to buy bonds it will lead to inflation, and after a year or two the dollar will fall hard. Most of our foreign reserves are in US bonds and this is very difficult to change, so we will diversify incremental reserves into euros, yen, and other currencies,” he said.

The United States of America should never be in a position where we are dependent on a rival like China. The Chinese have their own interests and many of which are not in America’s interest. This gives them a veto over our policies and that is not a good thing. That is why balancing the budget, making our economy more competitive and paying off our debt are crucial. We are now beholden to foreigners and this is not good for our future freedom.

Like vultures circling a wounded animal, the Transnational Progressives  at the United Nations are now calling for a new global currency. The Progressives always wanted America to give up more of its sovereignty to global institutions. That way the elites can rule over the rest of us. Thanks to our irresponsible policies, the global Left is now pushing this idea of an alternative to the dollar!

In a radical report, the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has said the system of currencies and capital rules which binds the world economy is not working properly, and was largely responsible for the financial and economic crises.

It added that the present system, under which the dollar acts as the world’s reserve currency , should be subject to a wholesale reconsideration.

Although a number of countries, including China and Russia, have suggested replacing the dollar as the world’s reserve currency, the UNCTAD report is the first time a major multinational institution has posited such a suggestion.

The United Nations is a cesspool of Transnational Totalitarian Progressives and Islamo-Fascists. They are looking at a weakened America and feel now they can assert their power. It helps that the current Radical Progressive Regime of President Barack Hussein Obama shares much of this agenda. Therefore, they don’t care about America’s economic decline and the weakening of our currency. The Radical Left just wants power over peoples’ lives, therefore they could care less about the American people. This movement must be defeated if we want our Nation to be strong, competitive and free.

China:Ambition And Duplicity!

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

Several recent reports about China-Centric activities have come to light, that seem to merge in significance from slightly different angles.

First, from Reddiff, China should break up India: Chinese strategist.

The punch line in the article has been that to split India, China can bring into its fold countries like Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan, support ULFA in attaining its goal for Assam’s independence, back aspirations of Indian nationalities like the Tamils and Nagas, encourage Bangladesh to give a push to the independence of West Bengal and lastly recover the 90,000 sq km territory in southern Tibet.

I recommend reading it all.

Then, in July there was a report from the South Asia Analysis Group, CHINA: Back to Containing India? Take note this article’s title ends with a question mark.

Therefore, clearly a very serious effort at forming a China-Nepal-Pakistan trilateral is in the offing. This alliance covers India from the North-West to the East at the Eastern sector of the Sino-Indian border. During the BNP-Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI) government in Bangladesh from 2001-2006, the China-Pakistan-Bangladesh nexus against India started flourishing. With the debacle of the BNP-JEI alliance at the 2008 December elections, the anti-India agenda has been broken with the Awami League in power. But that is not the last word. Beijing continues to worm its way into Bangladesh. During the BNP-JEI government China, Bangladesh and Pakistan entered into an agreement to coordinate their intelligence operations in India.

As India is a growing economic power in the region, the threat to China’s hegemony in this region is genuine. For China to project power beyond its own sphere of influence, it must first gain control of the region in which it exists.

That India is a strong ally of the U.S., we must continue to support them to thwart China’s ambitions, not only for their own good, but for ours and the worlds.

With China vulnerable to internal strife of its own, those vulnerabilities should be exploited now, while China is struggling to maintain the growth in its economy it must have to keep its citizens from demanding change.

In that vein, another article highlighted how China is struggling to do just that, and once again shows that China doesn’t support free markets, just profitable industries that serve the Communist agenda.
The Deeper Level Of The China-Rio Affair.

Since the global financial crisis hit China hard a year ago, economic policy has become a national security concern for Beijing. The party’s legitimacy to rule is predicated on its continued delivery of rising living standards to all Chinese. The global recession has made that more difficult. Increasing incidents of social instability have further rattled a Beijing already concerned about the growing wealth gap between urban rich and rural poor. Hence the importance of restoring at least 8% GDP growth this year.
******
The Hu-Wen leadership is counting down to the 2012 end of its 10 years in office, and succession battles anywhere can open unexpected fronts in the in-fighting. National security has always had a broader interpretation in China than in other large economies and has a long history of being deployed for political purposes.

If ever there was a convergence of need and opportunity for striking at China’s internal vulnerabilities, that time is now.
Former President Bush and his administration recognized the growing China threat, and was successful in ending decades of distrust between the U.S. and India, to counter this threat.
Unfortunately, we currently have an administration that embraces our enemies and doesn’t view threats at our or global security matters as vital, in comparison with the goal of making this nation as subservient as the Chinese are to the ChiComms.

Another Example Of Communist China’s Depravity!

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Since 1949, when the Communist regime took power, the immoral and loathsome practices of this form of government have never ceased, though the ugliest aspects of their depravity were well concealed, being a closed society.

That is slowly changing.

Last week on this blog, a horrendous story of the weddings of young girls to older men in Palestine was posted. As despicable as that violation of decency was, the ChiComms have, in their early history, exceeded that event in a scale unimaginable.

In 1949, China resumed centuries old aggression against its Western territories, particularly Tibet and what is known as Xinjiang province. With Tibet, it was allegedly to reclaim a breakaway province, and to save the Tibetans from theocratic rule. With Xinjiang, it was to reclaim what the Chinese believed was their territory two hundred years before the birth of Christ. Having been an independent state(Second East Turkistan Republic) since 1944, but without the power to resist such a powerful battle tested Army, it once again became Xinjiang province.

As a result of the difficulties in quelling the majority population of this province, the Uighurs(there are now thirteen ethnic groups), Chairman Mao chose a different path. The Hans would become the dominant ethnic group, by force of arms, and force of nature.

This brings us to a film that is under production in China, which I suspect will never be shown as intended. The title of the film?
8,000 Girls Ascend the Heavenly Mountain.
It sounds lovely doesn’t it? Well, as with typical Communist rhetoric, the film tells a story completely opposite the embellished title.

From the Times Online:

It dramatises the lives of thousands of girls aged 13 to 19 who went to China’s remote far west in the 1950s to follow soldiers sent to colonise the turbulent Muslim region.

In real life it was a trip to purgatory. As shooting for the film unfolds in Beijing under the watchful gaze of party censors, an astonishing story of mass deception, forced marriages and suicides has come to light.

———————

“There were 200,000 soldiers in Xinjiang and only a handful had wives. So from 1949 to 1954 the military authorities, hushing up their real motive, recruited 40,000 women from all over China,” he said.

“They were told that they would go to Russian-language schools, work in factories or drive tractors on farms. Marriage was never mentioned,” said Lu in an interview published on the Baidu.com website.

The first shock for the Hunan girls came after a long journey to the west by lorry. They received a military lecture which was not about Soviet studies or engineering but “revolutionary marriage”.

Then they were sent to barracks scattered across the region. One group of 20 girls, who found themselves with a regiment of 1,000 men, hastily married the 20 most senior officers within days of their arrival.

———————

The army corps evolved into big military and business conglomerates called bingtuan which built the economy of Xinjiang and remain its most powerful interest groups. And the fertility of the army wives helped to change the population balance in Xinjiang so that Chinese now outnumber the Muslims.

“The prettier you were, the worse your plight because you would be picked by the older, senior officers,” said Jiang Lihua.

Of course, the relocation of Hans into Xinjiang since 1997 has created a larger increase in their numbers, than the forced prostitution that Mao promoted, and according to another source, the Han represent forty percent of the population, while the Uighurs forty five percent.

Irrespective of the religious implications involved, the aggressive and contemptible actions of the ChiComms has never abated, with this example being only one in a litany of atrocities.

Were it true, that the CIA has been involved since the 90’s, in creating a guerilla group of Uighurs to help fracture the Communist grip on that nation, it would be money and time well spent. I seriously doubt it is true, as the fact that the Communist took control of China is due in large part to the Communist in the U.S. State Dept. That, however, is a different story, for another time.

North African Al-Qaeda threatens China over Uighurs

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

This shows you the hubris of the Islamists, the North African wing of Al-Qaeda has issued a threat to China. They really think that China will bow to them as has the US/Europe? In China there is no backstabbing Progressive movement  and it is a culture that does not fear death. This is a very interesting development and one that bears watching.

Al-Qaida’s north African wing has threatened to target Chinese workers and projects in the region in retaliation for Muslim deaths in Urumqi last week.

It is the first time Osama bin Laden’s terrorist network has directly targeted Chinese interests, according to experts at a London-based risk analysis firm.

China replacing US in Latin America

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

While the US wastes it’s time in the Middle East, Europe and Asia, the Chinese are increasing their influence in Latin America. This is very worrisome as this is our own hemisphere. One of the biggest gripes I have with US foreign policy is the fact that it is too Euro-Middle Eastern-Asian centric. This is our backyard with plenty of resources, we need to be dominant in our continent.

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil — All but invisible in Latin America a decade ago, China now is building cars in Uruguay, donating a soccer stadium to Costa Rica and lending $10 billion to Brazil’s biggest oil company.

It’s supplanted the United States to become the biggest trading partner with Brazil, South America’s biggest economy.

China has moved aggressively to fill a vacuum left by the United States in recent years, as the U.S. focused on wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and the global economic crisis sapped its economy.

Chinese put Islamic Uighurs in their place

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

APTOPIX China ProtestThe Chinese unlike us in the West, know how to deal with Islamic violence. They respond with harsher violence. They know that when dealing with Muslims, if you give one inch, they will take advantage.

July 9 (Bloomberg) — Chinese military police yesterday sent reserve forces into Urumqi and cordoned off sections of the city to break up ethnic violence that forced President Hu Jintao to cut short a trip to the Group of Eight summit in Italy.

Groups of men belonging to China’s Han majority were seen assaulting minority Muslim Uighurs in the capital of western Xinjiang province in a third day of clashes. A row of police in full riot gear guarded a Uighur neighborhood. Hu returned to Beijing yesterday, Xinhua News Agency said, after two days of rioting left at least 156 people dead. The official toll makes the violence the most deadly in decades, possibly since the 1966-1976 Cultural Revolution.

America and Europe need to learn from the Chinese on how to deal with Islam. No mercy or compromise must be shown. Although many here dislike the Chinese regime as I do, in this case I support them. Anyone who stands up to Islam I support.

North Korea suspected in Cyber attacks

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

The North Koreans have really been emboldened since President Hussein was elected. They smell weakness are pushing the US around. They really want a pretext to have a fight with us. The problem is with our forces stretch and China owning a good part of our debt, there is nothing we can really do and they know it.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A widespread computer attack that began July 4 knocked out the Web sites of the Treasury Department, the Secret Service and other U.S. agencies, and South Korean government sites also came under assault.

South Korean intelligence officials believe the attacks were carried out by North Korean or pro-Pyongyang forces. U.S. officials so far have refused to publicly discuss details of the attack or where it might have originated.
