Obama’s Community Organizing Based Foreign Policy

Our naive Crypto Dictator Barack Husein Obama views all nations as equals. He is convinced that all countries have shared interests. He views the concerns of our enemies as legitimate and even sides with them against our allies. His foreign policy is based on his experiences as a Community Organizer. He thinks the world is like the south-side of Chicago, which is a dangerous view to have. Nations have their own interests and they don’t always coincide with ours. We must recognize this, but not Obama. He really believes in nuances and that all nations have good intentions.

ObamaChavez

President Obama is applying the same tools to international diplomacy that he once used as a community organizer on Chicago’s South Side, constructing appeals to shared interests and attempting to bring the government’s conduct in line with its ideals.

The limits of Obama’s cool, interests-based approach are visible in Afghanistan, where European allies continue to resist sending additional combat troops to fight an increasingly unpopular war, and in his attempts to assemble a common front against Iran’s suspected nuclear weapons program. In Afghanistan, his efforts to reinvigorate the relationships neglected by the previous administration have yielded few tangible results on the battlefield. In Iran, months of careful, culturally sensitive diplomacy have met with a recalcitrance that U.S. conservatives say will never change

Obama’s approach to the world as a community of nations, more alike than different in outlook and interest, has elevated America’s standing abroad and won him the Nobel Peace Prize. But on the farthest-reaching U.S. foreign policy challenges, he is struggling to translate his own popularity into American influence, even with allies that have celebrated his break from the Bush administration’s emphasis on military strength, unilateral action and personal chemistry.

Conservatives think Obama is undermining U.S. power abroad by failing to recognize the degree to which countries, whether allies or adversaries, are immune to appeals to shared interests. And critics from opposite ends of the political spectrum say Obama has too often muted his public support for American ideals — notably human rights and democracy — in his pursuit of common goals.

Obama is a reckless, naive and stupid President. The world is an evil place with nations and organizations that don’t have good intentions. The President of the United States should stand up for America’s interests. By pursuing non existent common interests, our adversaries are running circles around Barack Hussein Obama. There are no common interests. The US has nothing in common with Iran, Saudi Arabia, North Korea, Venezuela and China. We should have our own agenda and not subvert our interests to others.

Barack Hussein Obama is doing this for a sinister purpose. He is a Transnationalist Progressive who views the US as part of a Global Community. He wants to make the US a defacto colony of foreign interests. He is a dangerous man whose naivete will be our ruin.

Not to quibble, Rodan, but the word is “reckless,” not “wreckless.” The former means “rash, heedless”; the latter is not really a word, but if it were it would mean “without wreckage,” which is hardly the case here.

If ever there was an article that could be classified as putting marshmallow frosting on a turd, that Washington Post article is it. Glancing at it before clicking on it, I thought it was something straight from Axelrod’s operation.

Sorry, but the reality of Obama’s “cool, interests-based” foreign policy is incompetence and a anti-Americanism.

OOooops! I’m sorry, Rodan, I wasn’t criticizing your post, and I think this article was an excellent choice for discussion. What I was vehmently criticizing was the WAPO viewpoint, and the laudatory presentation of Obama’s foreign policy which, as revealed by the writer, seems to combine internationalist moral equivalency with the worst of (Woodrow) Wilsonian meddling. Since it is the WAPO, the complaisance toward this nonsense probably reflects the viewpoint of the majority of people sealed inside the Beltway Bubble.

As far as Afghanistan goes, I am torn. History teaches us that if we want to lose, keep sending troops in there. The Afghans will look on us as invaders, put aside their own personal differences and fight us with all.

But as for the rest of the world, I agree. He’s been outsmarted by both the Iranians and the Russians and Hillary’s trip to Pakistan was a complete bust (as per VDH-see his latest at Pajamasmedia). I think he’s doing more damage to the image of America abroad than Bush ever did–and this is his first year in office.

Now, as far as him going to Dover AFB, I am also torn. On the one hand, it was the right thing to do. On the other hand, why take a photographer?

This is precisely why Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize. It was a consolation prize for moving the US closer to global socialism, led by the EU. Under the delusion of “peace” the goal is global control through environmental regulations and taxes, false social policies and unilateral disarmament. He needs to be stopped.

That’s what got me snarling. (That, and our wonderful power company blew a transformer at 6 am this morning – shower by candlelight and no coffee). This is what the Washington Establishment — the guys who make our laws and those direct our foreign policy out of the State Department — thinks of as “good” foreign policy. After all, our State Department is the one that thinks its job is to represent the interests of foreign counties to the U.S., rather than do its real job, to represent the interests of the U.S. to foreign countries. They love Obama’s foreign “policy”.

Caesar Obama – by Robert Spencer

Robert Spencer is a scholar of Islamic history, theology, and law and the director of Jihad Watch. He is the author of eight books, eleven monographs, and hundreds of articles about jihad and Islamic terrorism, including the New York Times Bestsellers The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) and The Truth About Muhammad. His latest book, The Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Koran, is available now from Regnery Publishing.

The chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, Rocco Landesman, provoked ridicule when he said last week that “Barack Obama is the most powerful writer since Julius Caesar.” He didn’t mean that Barack Obama is a literary titan who doth bestride the narrow world like a colossus while petty men like Chaucer, Shakespeare, and Tolstoy walk under his huge legs and peep about to find ourselves dishonourable graves. But what he did mean, while no less fatuous, is also disquieting in its implications: for the first time, the United States of America has a president whose supporters talk about him in the same effusive and worshipful tones usually reserved for the likes of Stalin, Mao, and Kim Jong Il.

Everything the President does has photographers. It is inescapable. The President lives in a bubble that would be intolerable to any normal human being. For me it would bbe as bad or worse than max-secure lockup. I’d go screaming nuts after a while. So I don’t fault him the photographer. His heart may or may not have been in the right place, but his actions were, in this case, acceptible.

As for “Why didn’t we see Bush do this?”, well, he did, and there were photographers, but the MSM in their infinite wisdom did not consider it “newsworthy”. Bush got most things right, and history will be much kinder to him as time goes on.

    You know what’s sad?
Every time this country is shoved to the left (nearly always due to how we voted) there’s a reaction from the citizenry, and sometimes even a slight retreat, but never a significant one.
The Left establishes a new baseline for government behavior and the “right” pounds their collective fists, objects, but never do those folks that they (”conservatives”) elected go as far as eliminating what the socialists have done.
As pissed as we are right now I honestly don’t expect the damage the Dear Leader has done and no doubt will do over the next three years to ever be completely undone.
The Republicans just don’t have the sustained will to play hardball with the Left.

Obama’s bungling of the Mideast peace process has gotten so bad that even the New York Times is calling it a failure. U.S. officials are admitting that the whole peace process has reached an impasse.

The only remarkable thing that Obama has done in his foreign policy misadventures so far is to tick off all sides in the Middle East — not just the Arab world and the Israelis, but also the Israeli left, right and center.

It’s incredibly difficult to tick off Israel’s entire political spectrum at the same time, but Obama has done it. I don’t think anyone in Israel had ever guessed that this was possible until now.

I’m on a Dem mailing list. These assholes are going crazy. Check this from Patrick Kennedy:

I got mine, you get yours” seems to be the creed by which today’s Republican Party operates. And, it is this Republican Party that has opposed every initiative, every policy and every program President Obama has proposed since assuming office in January.

Your immediate support is urgently needed today because we are rapidly approaching our one-year-out fundraising deadline tomorrow.

And to stay competitive with the Republican fundraising machine, Democrats must raise just $89,353 more before midnight Tuesday.

Furthermore, the DCCC’s totals during this one-year-out fundraising period will be viewed by media pundits, political analysts and our Republican opponents as an indicator of the strength of grassroots support for Democrats in Congress, President Obama and our agenda for change.

Contribute $5, $10 or more before our deadline MIDNIGHT TOMORROW and your gift will be matched 2-to-1.

From day one, Democrats acted boldly and forcefully to restore confidence in our economy and protect the interests of all Americans, especially the most vulnerable.

We fought for and won an extension of health care benefits for children. We enacted legislation to close the wage gap for women. We passed the historic American Clean Energy and Security Act. We protected hard working middle class families by reforming the credit card business. And, we worked with President Obama to stimulate the economy, create new jobs, address the credit crisis, and protect families from foreclosure. We’ve done all this and more almost solely on the strength of our Democratic Majority.

And, we still have much work to do in the fight for meaningful health insurance reform. But, thanks to the support and commitment of Democrats like you, I am confident America will emerge from this challenging time stronger and more united than ever before.

Contribute $5, $10 or more before our deadline MIDNIGHT TOMORROW and your gift will be matched 2-to-1.

We cannot win the 2010 election today, but we can lose it if we fail to maintain our fundraising strength against Republicans. And not only are we fighting a tidal wave of special interest money. We’re up against history as well. On average, the party in the White House loses 30 seats in the midterm election.

But, I know that I can count on your continuing support. Please stand with President Obama and other progressive Democrats by rushing a generous contribution to the DCCC today.

    Thank you,

    Rep. Patrick Kennedy

As to how someone can enjoy helping his enemies, there is a thrill to knowing one’s self to be the exempt exception when others like you are led to the slaughter—and, like any other addiction, the need for additional doses of that thrill can lead you to ugly, ugly places.

Most of the Israeli voters are already leaning rightward, which is good, so this much unity already existed before Obama started bungling things.

The entire political spectrum in Israel is recognizing that Obama is in over his head, however. So the different groups have something in common when it comes to this, but it doesn’t really unite the strong right with the anemic left wing in Israel.

Oh, absolutely – there’s no possible way that a peace agreement can be reached and the entire process only results in pressure for concessions from Israel; violence against Israel; and PR nightmares for Israel’s self-defense when facing the disastrous consequences of trying to make an impossible peace.

What I meant about “bungling the peace process” is that Obama has done the opposite of what he had intended to do. He bragged that he could “jump start” the peace process and peace negotiations when all he’s done has been to make negotiations all but totally impossible.

Obama convinced the “Palestinians” that they were finally going to get 100% of their demands (which is the only percent they will accept in their plan to end Israel’s existence in stages).

If the “Palestinians” get 100% of their demands (G-d forbid), it would move them to the next stage of turning Israel into an Islamic state called “Palestine.” Obama convinced them that they could finally get to the next stage with Zero at the helm in the U.S.

Obama has no idea what’s really going on in the Arab-Israeli conflict.

The PEOPLE don’t have the sustained will. We have the best existence in the history of mankind. It’s natural to want to keep and improve it.
The Roman leaders of the first centuries lost track of what was necessary to maintain their civilization. They paid attention only to what maintained their lifestyle, what kept the people happy and docile. That is the democrat party platform at it’s heart and it’s very hard to argue against that utopian ideal. Until the barbarians run off with your freedom and opportunity.
Somewhat similar with the Athenians 500 years earlier. (See Victor Davis Hanson’s books)

Until we either get hit with another mass casualty attack or our economy becomes a driven component rather than the driving force behind world trade, the party of ‘universal goodies’ will continue to kick the cost and consequences of the good life down the road.
Personally, I think the latter has already occurred here in CA, and it will spread to the rest of the country before anybody sees the light.
Only when the Republicans can sell the ‘boy are we screwed’ message will they get votes again. Sadly, despite talk radio exhortations, nobody’s buying.

The “Palestinians” think that the Joooos should get land that hasn’t ‘always’ been Arab/Muslim land. Of course, according to Islam, once a land IS Muslim, it’s always Muslim, which is what gives credence, in their minds, to claims on parts of Spain.

But let’s say that Obama is fool enough to give in to demands for an elimination of present day Israel, and that Israel is fool enough to go along with it. The Jews are moved somewhere else on earth. Now, how long do you give it before another non-existant ‘Muslim’ people springs up, claiming that Mohammed gave this land to THEM, or that Mohammed tightened his horses saddle there or something?

Israel’s left wing is mostly shattered today. They made huge promises for peace in the early 1990s. They said that they could talk to the Arabs and make it all work out. “Trust us.”

The “Palestinians” stabbed Israel’s left wing in the back and Israeli voters came to realize (in massive numbers) that a peace agreement simply isn’t possible.

Today, the left wing in Israel makes noise but the voters are right wing overall.

Polls show that even if a real peace were possible in the Arab-Israeli conflict, roughly 95% of the Jews in Israel wouldn’t give up the Western Wall in exchange for it.

In Jerusalem’s most recent Mayor election, all four candidates ran on the platform of promising not to divide Jerusalem in any sort of deal.

They differed in other ways, but they were united in this stand.

Israel’s political scene is complicated with over 30 political parties, but it’s still possible to see overall trends. Israel’s voters are trending rightward and they have been for the last several years in particular.

Here in Colorado Springs, we only have 2 ballot issues and a school board race.

Both of the ballot issues are about taxes. One of them is to raise property taxes by $460 million a year. The other is to prevent the city from creating any more fraudulent “enterprise” entities that get to send us bills for stuff, and have no oversight as to how the money they collect is spent.

Interestingly, they worded these two proposals so that to prevent the property tax hike, you vote no, but to end the enterprise fraud, you vote yes. They’re clearly hoping to confuse voters into approving one of these schemes.

There was a ban on photo’s of the fallen and it had been in place since the Gulf War.

The McCaffrey’s decision defied a longstanding military ban on photographing the caskets of America’s war dead — a policy that had been enacted in 1991 during the first Gulf War. Many mistakenly believe that it was President George W. Bush who enacted the ban.

    @ Rule303:

Yes. The socialist idea has taken. Bureaucracy is impossible to wind back. Expectations are fixed that government can solve all problems, including its own.
American children are taught to hold their nation and its achievements in contempt and that it is immoral to be more competent, better educated, or richer than others.
I attended a lecture at a local middle school in a very lefty town on the subject of gifted children. The gist of it was that putting children in classes according to age, rather than intellectual ability, was as useless as matching them up according to shoe size. There was an outcry from the parents (who were so numerous, it was plain that every parent in the locality had a gifted child) who were concerned that differentiation on the basis of intelligence would widen the “achievement gap” between the children of the “poor” and those of the “wealthy”. The local school superintendent felt obliged to put up an emotional defense of the school boards commitment to closing the gap and to promise more busing in of poor kids from another county across the freeway.
    Madness.

Your profile here on Blogmocracy has nothing to do with your account at Gravatar. The Muslims can see alcohol, and even if they cannot they should put up their own screen. The bar owner is not breaking any U.S. laws, and thus should not be made into the bad guy.

Jews have had prohibitions against things longer than Islam has been around, and yet we have not made similar demands, or problems with Americans going about their business, or America itself.

The extra-added “sensitivity” deference is the operation of creeping “human rights” overlaying and trumping the religious freedom guaranteed to Muslims, and anyone else, through our Constitutional civil rights.

There is no civil right which supports the added deference, beyond freedom to worship as they choose, which the Muslim congregation is demanding. The added deference is a “human rights” demand that the law give them a special right not to be offended.

Thing is, this works two ways, and people in the US are getting real tired of the Mohammedan’s shit. At least they are around here. I wouldn’t put up with one of the fuckers threatening me. That shit just won’t fly around here.

Sarah fires back at Biden (via Facebook)

Response to Vice President Biden’s Comments Today About My Position On Energy IndependenceShare
    Today at 12:12pm
As the vice president knows, I have always advocated an all-of-the-above approach to American energy independence. Among other things, my alternative energy goal for Alaska sits at 50 percent because Alaska reached more than 20 percent during my term in office. The Obama-Biden administration, on the other hand, recently announced a renewable goal of only 25 percent. However, domestic drilling should remain a top priority in order to meet America’s consumption and security needs.

The vice president’s extreme opposition to domestic energy development goes all the way back to 1973 when he opposed the Alaska pipeline bill. As Ann Coulter pointed out, “Biden cast one of only five votes against the pipeline that has produced more than 15 billion barrels of oil, supplied nearly 20 percent of this nation’s oil, created tens of thousands of jobs, added hundreds of billions of dollars to the U.S. economy and reduced money transfers to the nation’s enemies by about the same amount.”

This nonsensical opposition to American domestic energy development continues to this day. Apparently the Obama-Biden administration only approves of offshore drilling in Brazil, where it will provide security and jobs for Brazilians. This election is about American security and American jobs.

There’s one way to tell Vice President Biden that we’re tired of folks in Washington distorting our message and hampering our nation’s progress: Hoffman, Baby, Hoffman!

    - Sarah Palin

This really gets my goat. Just in case there was anyone out there paying attention that still had any doubt if the U.N. was completely biased against Israel.

    http://www.onejerusalem.org/2009/10/united-nations-agency-boosts-a.php

All jokes about “what culture” aside, this is a huge problem. This is a purposeful political provocation by the U.N. against Israel during a time when Jerusalem is even more “contested” than normal by an organization who is supposed to represent the U.N.

Walter is sounding like Howard Dean from a few years back.

Now, that being said, the GOP does have a minority problem (yeah–it is one). Seriously — it has the disconcerting habit of taking a promising minority member and hoisting them on the party’s shoulders and parading them as a national candidate clearly before they are ready for the national spotlight, i.e.; Palin, Jindal, and to an extent, Steele. It’s a bad habit which does not appear to be reversing itself.

    @ song_and_dance_man:

The timer was set at 15 seconds or thereabout.

When I saw the edit button a bit earlier, the time on it was over 2 minutes.

The bold, italics, link and blockquote buttons are gone now, BTW.
