Goodmorning Blogmocracy Netizens! I am off to the office so this is a quick post.
Several days ago I posted an article by Thomas Sowell, where he describes how Progressives are changing America by destroying it from within. Well, this morning the 2nd part of that article is out. This is a must read and he nails the Anti-American agenda of Progressives.
Many years ago, at a certain academic institution, there was an experimental program that the faculty had to vote on as to whether or not it should be made permanent.
I rose at the faculty meeting to say that I knew practically nothing about whether the program was good or bad, and that the information that had been supplied to us was too vague for us to have any basis for voting, one way or the other. My suggestion was that we get more concrete information before having a vote.
The director of that program rose immediately and responded indignantly and sarcastically to what I had just said– and the faculty gave him a standing ovation.
After the faculty meeting was over, I told a colleague that I was stunned and baffled by the faculty’s fierce response to my simply saying that we needed more information before voting.
“Tom, you don’t understand,” he said. “Those people need to believe in that man. They have invested so much hope and trust in him that they cannot let you stir up any doubts.”
Make no mistake about it, the Progressive movement is anti-American. They seek to make us weak and part of a global system. They are turning us into a colony of the Global Community. We need to defend our independence the founders gave us. Progressives hate the American experiment and will do anything to destroy it.

Also from Patriot Post
Our Constitution’s principle author, James Madison, wrote, “The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined [and] will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation and foreign commerce.”
Concerning the legislature’s authority, Thomas Jefferson asserted: “[G]iving [Congress] a distinct and independent power to do any act they please which may be good for the Union, would render all the preceding and subsequent enumerations of power completely useless. It would reduce the whole [Constitution] to a single phrase, that of instituting a Congress with power to do whatever would be for the good of the United States; and as sole judges of the good or evil, it would be also a power to do whatever evil they please. Certainly, no such universal power was meant to be given them. [The Constitution] was intended to lace them up straightly within the enumerated powers and those without which, as means, these powers could not be carried into effect.”
Madison added, “If Congress can do whatever in their discretion can be done by money, and will promote the General Welfare, the Government is no longer a limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one, subject to particular exceptions.”

The last member of Adolf Hitler’s notorious inner circle has died at age 96, leaving behind instructions to publish a manuscript about his time spent alongside the German dictator, the Telegraph reported.
Fritz Darges was present for all major conferences, social engagements and policy announcements during World War II — and experts believe his memoir could disprove claims by some disputed historians that Hitler never directly ordered the extermination of the Jews, and that the “final solution” was the brainchild of SS chief Heirich Himmler.

I know what you’ve said about the value of LGF being unique in the blogosphere where people from across the spectrum can interact with each other, and I am in agreement with that assessment. It’s also why I value my registration here. I am NOT one of the ones who had difficulty with any shift in focus here, nor in the addition of liberals to the board – that’s all part and parcel of the shift in the political atmosphere in the nation and it’s been very interesting and informative, imo.
My observations simply have to do with behavior and what appears to me to be an attempt to bait certain people into anger, followed by a deflection of their response with accusations of “butthurt” and a general piling on along those lines, which is different from a discussion, even a heated on, on the topic at hand.

A few years later, first crisis. Khrushchev opens envelope 1: “Blame everything on me. Uncle Joe.”
A few years later, a really big crisis. Opens envelope 2: “Blame everything on me. Again. Good luck, Uncle Joe.”
Third crisis. Opens envelope 3: “Prepare three envelopes.”

As usual, Thomas Sowell hits the nail on the head. Obama is our first anti-American president, and he’s doing everything he can to cut our nation down to size. Gore Vidal: Thirteen-year-old Roman Polanski rape victim was a ‘hooker’

Why is this guy still alive?
That great diplomatic victory Obama had against Iran’s nuclear abitions during the last talks, not so much.
Iran’s just trying to buy time while the centrifuges continue enriching. Obama’s trying to buy time… why the hell is Obama trying to buy time?!!

re: #140 by Rancher
I think that was the idea. And in fact, the “rising of sea level” in many locations is annually the sinking of parts of the continents or islands. So if you want to prevent the scare scenarios in AIT, you have to stop plate tectonics.
We save 4 jobs every DAY!
My husband gets up and goes to work so his employees stay working.
Obambi can claim to “save” jobs all day long.
But the real people who are saving jobs are people like the hubster, who after putting in a full 12 hour day for our regular builders, goes and does bids for homeowners who want their driveway replaced etc.
He is always looking for more work for our guys. They have families that have to eat!
Bwaaahhhaaaa – Go get that British Red Sharm!

Why do I keep thinking of Joe Wilson?
My guess is that it’s your way of calling me a liar without actually having the courage to come out and say it, so you’re taking out your aggression by downdinging a perfectly reasonable post like this one and making snide Joe Wilson comments instead.
That’s all I have to say on this thread now, for real this time.

Which is related to a key under appreciated point. All else aside, investors are going to sit on their cash in times of uncertainty. Among the worst things the donkeys have done is inject so much uncertainty into the economy. That’s a much bigger investment killer than is generally understood.

re: #164 by snork
In the beginning, Obama created or saved the jobs. And America was without cap or trade, and liberty was over the face of the land, but the spirit of hope and change hovered over Capitol Hill. And Obama said, “Let there be stimulus,” and there was stimulus. And Obama saw that it was pork, and called it good; and Obama divided the deserving from the undeserving. And Obama called the deserving Democrats, and the undeserving he called Republicans. And there was a Congressional recess, the first time.

Also TV it made it easier to propagandize huge masses of people. From the 50’s into the 80’s – with only 3 major networks, plus PBS, whose staffs had all pretty much the a liberal point of view, a very homogeneous outlook was presented to the populace, reinforced with very convincing images. TV proved in spades the old adage “one picture is worth a thousand words”. The baby boomers were already softened up by TV and were ripe for further indoctrination by their more radical professors during the 60’s.

re: #195 by bellamags
Scary is right. Recall when Kennedy and Nixon debated in 1960, those who heard the debate on the radio overwhelmingly thought Nixon had won; while those who watched it on TV overwhelmingly thought Kennedy had won. They were wowed by the picture Kennedy presented, and found the image far more compelling than any content in the debate. This was when the media first realized the true power of the tube, and used this power to great effect night after night during the Vietnam war.

re: #212 by snork
Right after the stock market tumbled, people stopped spending money so my business income was terrible (75% down in Sept. 08). I got a notice in Jan 09 from the IRS (as well as every other small business owner I know) stating my tax “contribution” was incorrect for the 2nd quarter of 2006. I called them and agreed to pay half now and half in a month. Right after I paid the first half (under $1000) I received a CERTIFIED letter from the IRS demanding the second half in 15 days or they were going to seize my property. Now why in the hell did they do that at that time? Small business was getting SQUEEZED anyway. I had to fire two employees. At the same time, all my credit was cut at least in half. And don’t forget, no one was spending money. My vendors also raised their prices. Remember just before the stock market crash, gas prices were through the roof so people were already being squeezed. I don’t want to seem conspiratorial, but damn.

If Israel is foolish enough to give Syria back, then most likely she will eventually be destroyed. That is barring something massive (like nuclear bombardment, maybe. If not Mecca, then how about Damascus?) changing the way the Arabs hate the Jews. I don’t see that happening under any realistic scenario.
IOW, Israel should NEVER give back the Golan, no matter how much Hussein Obama or any other President pressures them.
Obama’s crass use of Afghanistan war dead.

I would have 100% supported Bush retaliating by bombing the Sudanese military command to the Stone Age, and am disaapointed in Bush that he didn’t.
