The Totalitarian Progressives, who have this nation in a stranglehold, are planning to ram the Public Option down our throats. Their claim is that the Public Option will force Health Insurance companies to lower prices. This is absolutely false since the insurers don’t make big profits anyway. In reality, the goal is to collapse the Health Industry and leave the government as a single payer.
WASHINGTON — In the health care debate, the “public plan” is all things to all people. For supporters, it would discipline greedy private insurers and make health coverage affordable. For detractors, it’s a way station on the path to a single-payer insurance system of government-run health care. In reality, the public plan is mostly an exercise in political avoidance: It pretends to control costs and improve access to quality care when it doesn’t.
As originally conceived by Yale political scientist Jacob Hacker, the public plan would be a government-created, nonprofit insurance company providing Medicare-like coverage to the under-65 population. But unlike Medicare, benefits would be paid for mainly by premiums — not taxes. Americans could buy coverage from the public plan or a private insurer.
The Obamacare proposal is about one thing. It is about control. This will give the Progressives a decision over who lives or dies. Progressives are supporters of Eugenics which includes mandatory abortions and euthanizing the old. After what we see with Obama trying to silence Fox news and the Chamber of Commerce, do you really trust these Totalitarian Radical Leftists with your life? I sure don’t and neither do most Americans!

Yup. Once the Gov gave the “freebie” of the Tarp money to the Corporations, etc., owned them. Now the Gov gets to tell those Corporations what to sell, what to buy, how much to make, etc.
What do you think will happen exactly once we are all bought by this “free” money?
Just like the Corporations, our greed is getting the best of us, and we are not thinking of the long term issues about what happens once we owe our Health care to the Government.
If you think they aren’t going to begin telling us what we can eat, do, etc., you are fooling yourself.
The first hit is always free…
How many times will they lie to us before even the morons who voted for him get pissed?

Yet, this isn’t the story, and hasn’t caused a revolution.

re: #5 by Truck Monkey
The Liberals aren’t safe from this either. Lest them fool themselves.
Once a Republican Government gets into power, and they own us through a Gov Everything Care system, they can be assured that the Gov is going to quickly work through the Health Care System to outlaw Marijuana use, and other health risk behaviors (loved by Liberals). All for the public health, financial responsibility, and overall public general welfare.
We will often hear “it is just too costly to allow all of those in the plan (ie: everyone) to do X, or Y. We MUST curtail their personal liberty, and we can because we “have” to.
This sword cuts both ways, but in the end ALL citizens lose.
I hear the Harry Reid now proposes to let states ‘opt out’ of the coming single payer system.
I wonder, will the states also be allowed to ‘opt out’ of paying for the nationwide system?

re: #12 by razorbacker
Nope, the citizens lose on that one. They’ll still have to pay.
The fact that the majority of Americans oppose the Public Option means nothing to these guys.
Promoting competition is a ruse, health insureres compete now.
That states may opt out is another ruse. This new public entity will be so awash in cash & corruption, that all the pols will wnat in.
You all are fucking with me ain’t ya? I ain’t been drinking none, really…
re: #12 by razorbacker
Heh. Yes, you can opt out of the plan, but you can’t opt out of paying for it!
Just like you can “opt out” of public schools or any other “benefit.”
This is not what the majority of Americans want. That does not matter to the libs, as they (and some Repubs) believe they know what’s best for us all.
Never mind that they couldn’t find their own ass with both hands and a map, they think they can effectively administrate something that involves every man, woman, and child whether here legally or not.
So, no matter what they will say, their willing accomplices in the drive by media will nod their bobble-heads in unison, never questioning them about the details of what they will pass.
Because the libs are so treacherous and do not have the testicular or ovarian fortitude to stand and face the American people, and tell the them truth, they will have to add portions of this heinous legislation under the cover of darkness.
The cowards will lie to the American people, because in the arena of ideas, libs cannot compete. They pull the same pages from the tired lib playbook over and over again. They cannot speak the truth about their nefarious plans and therefore must lie about their intentions because they know the American people would never fall for such nonsense.
Despite what some long-haired cycle enthusiast in smoggy LA thinks, those people who attended the tea parties (myself included), are not racists, white supremacists, paulians, troofers, birfers, nirthers, etc.
They are people from both sides of the ideological aisle, and from all walks of life, who are tired of having our government spend every cent we have, and then borrow even more to spend that. They believe that government is not the solution, but the problem itself.
They’re tired, and they’re pissed off, and they’re not goint to take it anymore. Come next Novemeber, there will be some definite change coming. Change we can believe in.
Fear not, for the charges of ejecting the libs from congress en masse are baseless, no matter how loud and long the drive bys scream racism.
Change can be a good thing.

And you’re working for no one but me.

Before the Campaign Obama was on record as favoring a single payer system . Dem congress people Jan Shankowski & Barney Frank are open about it. Public option is the segue.
With government controlled health care you get effiicacy panels, in this case what the Administration refers to as the Committeee.
This entity will set the guidelines for appropriate care & when even life saving care will be denied due to expense & age etc.
That sounds like Sarah Palin’s Death Panels, becuse actually it is.

Insofar as getting the bastards out of office, ALL of the House comes up for re-election next year. The trick and what the RNC/GOP MUST do, is run against Obama, Reid and Pelosi. Counter, counter, counter with:
“Americans wanted lower taxes, so they marched on Washington. The Democrats called them racists.”
“Americans didn’t want a public option, they wanted real health care and tort reform. The Democrats said “too bad.”
“Americans wanted less dependence on foreign oil – they wanted to drill for America’s own resources. Nancy Pelosi said “Can we drill your brains.”
“Americans wanted no amnesty for illegal aliens. Democrats called them racist.”
And on and on….there will be more examples by the same time the next election comes along. And if you have a Donk Congressman, these are the people you’ll keep in power.
We need the 2010 version of the Contract With America. To counter the current Contract ON America.

re: #71 by Carolina Girl
I agree. I’d add a hard Second Amendment platform. We have had two years of record gun sales, record ammuntition sales, to back up an unprecedented demand for some national leadership to stand up for our rights. The Republicans are the natural party to take up that toarch.
We’ll see if they have the balls to do so. I am not counting on much. My hope is in the Supreme Court, for a Second Heller decision to enforce the Second Amendment against the States as well as the Federal Government. To do otherwise would be tantamount to re-legalizing slavery…

And then you have the Great State of California. Home of gang violence, drug running, illegals everywhere. They pass law after law to curb our gun rights. Because it will make California safer. Me, I’m driving to Nevada to load up before they do border enforcement on my way back from Reno.
Because of course, criminals respect the 10-round magazine maximum, the concealed carry laws and they of course will be honest about ammunition purchases.

Obama, the King of Liberalism, and (it seem) defender of the Faith, is like all Liberals and as such doesn’t work within reality.
Its all about desired reality, not actual reality.
One where the thousands of years of Islamic imperialism, murder, violence, and intolerance don’t exist because TODAY, he doesn’t want to believe it.
Same goes for the Health Care plan. He doesn’t have to read it…that would deal with reality, it only needs to exist in his dreams, his emotions…because he will then just believe that to be the desired reality.
Today:
“I won’t risk your lives unless it is absolutely necessary,” Obama told service men and women. He promised a “clear mission” with defined goals and the equipment needed to get the job done.
Today:
Gen. Stanley McChrystal’s proposal to send 40,000 additional U.S. combat troops to Afghanistan “reaches too far, too fast,” Sen. John Kerry warned Monday.
“”Now, let me be clear. Let me be clear. We have real enemies in the world. These enemies must be found. They must be pursued. And they must be defeated.
John Kerry knows this. And just as Lieutenant Kerry did not hesitate to risk his life to protect the men who served with him in Vietnam, President Kerry will not hesitate one moment to use our military might to keep America safe and secure.”"

Obama can say it (as can the bumper stickers) but it don’t mean jack in reality if the other groups doesn’t want to be “tolerant” or “coexist”.

Kemalism is now dead in Turkey. The Turks have now openly allied themselves with the Iran-Syria-Hezbollah axis. Despite mollycoddling the Turks for decades and holding them up as a “secular” example for the Muslim world to follow, they’ve fully reverted to their traditional Islamic anti-Semitism and hatred for the West.

$7500 for a Barrett? You are kidding, right? They have one here for $8900, and that is, as far as I can tell, a good price. They have a Bushmaster for about half that. I have to admit, I wasn’t interested in the Bushmaster. I’d rather have the autoloader, or just a bolt-gun. I’d rather have a, what is it, Tactilite in .416 Barrett (cool, oh, so coooooolllll), or an Armalite in .50.
As for the Stryker? Well, I could have had one many times before Clinton’s unconstitutional ban on them. I didn’t because as neat as it is, it isn’t worth it. I’d rather have a slide action shotgun, or even a double-barreled. I can give lots of reasons for that, but them’s the way it is.
I don’t have a Judge, either, as neat as I think a five-shot .410 shotgun is. If I had the money to collect all the weapons I want (I have a $1000 sword on my list, and a $400 knife, and a $325 knife…) I’d get one, but I’ll never have all the money I want for all the guns I want. Or knives, or anything else.
My desire outstrips my reach, probably forever…

It’s actually from John Cleese’s character from Silverado. But close enough to MP.

Hey IF!
have you heard this song?
it should be your theme song
THE WARRIOR SONG
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTs6a0ORdQU
I think the reason that the Left can never be honest is because they reject objective Truth, as well as the testimony of ordinary, lived experience.
I keep coming back to what Marx said in “The Poverty of Philosophy,” where he contrasts ideology with philosophy.
Counter-revolutionaries think philosophically. They search for the truth of things. Progressives, knowing that ‘truth’ is a class-based fiction, think ideologically. Their goal is power. Once the proletariat has power, their narrative will become “truth.”
As the Left gains increasing power in this country, I see an increasing contempt for truth. I see the establishment of narratives that are DEMONSTRABLY false.(Exhibit #1: the story of the “Palestinians.”)
This is the great Marxist maxim: “The point is not to understand the world but to change it.”
The point is not to understand, or even read, a health bill. The point is to pass it. And then make it a power tool.
Dooooooooooooom.
I’m in a glum mood today.
Perhaps it is because the Redskins are going to have to play the Eagles tonight.

re: #187 by snork
That is an interesting observation!
re: #186 by kansas
well he recommended someone up in the town where they live so am going tomorrow
We are going to file for full custody and request a guardian ad leidem (sp)………..or………….she can agree to reasonable visitation and file it with the court.
I talked to her atty and told him what was going on and he said to have my atty call him.
Since I am paying for her atty….I can reasonably assume he will advise her not to bring a butter knife to the gunfight we are planning.
Hope to resolve it out of court, but if she refuses to let us see him, we are going to file for full custody.
I am done fucking around.
re: #189 by davehm
That’s mostly the case with me as well. Hate getting into an interesting conversation or debate and having to walk away when it gets interesting or challenging.
Wifey home…tonight we dine
(see, back to the meat world)
Well, I am sure there are issues I don’t understand here, but if the child is in danger, I would think the attorney would recommend the court appointed guardian, and then you and your husband, with the father, could be witnesses. Just do what is best for your grandson.
Best Wishes.
re: #195 by kansas
Thanks!
Doing what is best for my grandson is all I have been trying to do.
But I cannot leave him living with a man with a history of abuse, who is not his father and not be allowed to see him.
We have had him half his life.
We have him 3 days and nights a week.
If she doesn’t want to be reasonable, I will take my chances with a judge.
I am sure she can afford to hire the best to fight me, what with her job at the gas station and all.
As you can tell, I have moved from sad to furious!

re: #199 by Eliana
I would really hate to do that Eliana.
But I live in terror of what will happen to my grandson.
If I can get regular visitation then I can notify the authorities if anything were to happen to him and not lose my visitation.
As it stands now, she can and has yanked him away from us every time she gets mad.
He has gone from 3 days a week with us to NOTHING.
She wont let us see him at all and its coming up on two weeks.
re: #201 by typicalwhitey
Sounds like a very difficult situation.
Please let us know how things are going with this.
Again, best wishes!

re: #198 by wolfie

re: #201 by typicalwhitey
Who is watching him while she works? You must do whatever it takes to get that little boy. Prayers to you and Chase.
re: #206 by newsjunkie_ky
He is in daycare.
Or she leaves him alone with the wife beater.
I have offered to watch him at her house, bring him home and return him when she gets off work or even to PAY for the extra babysitting.
She refuses, says that her bf wouldn’t hit him.
I said since Chase CANNOT TALK how in the hell would you know if he did?
You all know the statistics.
How many times do you see it on the news…the boyfriend was left with the child and hurt them.
As is was, I knew he was safe three days a week.
Now….well I am sure you know what is running through my mind.
Must get some sleep to be fresh for the attorney tomorrow.
Thank you all for caring!

TIP THE COWS OVER THAT IS THE ONLY SOLUTION
Just ask Ludwigvanquacks-a-lot, Charles Johnson , or B. Obama current assistant to Al Gore.
It cow farts, ya, the cows, the CO2, so clear it is all the progressives and commies will have to learn “cow tipping”, ( it is an art),
only a massive effort to end cow farts will save us from being 200 feet under water.
Good tipping to all, or as Charles says,,
“hit the tip jar”

It’s not cow farts anyway. The scientists figured out it’s bovine burps.

re: #215 by Moe Katz
Both ends of the cow are suspect?
Is cow tipping 15% of the milk or meat?
The next time a cow wants a tip I will say, get a job bovine.
re: #210 by snork
I got so sick and tired of the same old crap day in and day out, evolution one day, global warming the next, Glen Beck and Rush thrown in just to mix it up a little. You’d think even the bootlickers that are there would get a little tired of it by now.
re: #218 by song_and_dance_man

re: #222 by Moe Katz
I grew up next to a cow farm before they moved it or shut it down. It was stinky but I can guarantee it was not from burps. It was the chips.

re: #173 by Moe Katz
The affinity statistics are very telling. Apparently he’s not attracting much interest from the left. With a solid conservative viewership making up the bulk of the hits, LGF can only continue to tank.
Bovine belches and flatulence both contain copious methane.
Here’s the deal. You have two groups, the Luddites, and the animal freaks. The Luddites want to tear down industry, so they focus on CO2. The animal freaks want to ban meat, so they focus on CH4. That’s why every once in a while you’ll hear some activist claiming that cows are worse than SUVs. It’s a question of whose ox is farting.
Lots of disingenuousness for the cause.
re: #232 by Godzilla
So he’s got a smattering of token lefties and a remnant of conservatives that are walking on eggshells…. and little growth potential on the left. It’s a desperation move to be linking to Kos.

Where are the cows?
Send in the cows.
Just when I’d stopped opening troughs,
Finally knowing the one that I granted was yours,
Making my entrance again with my usual tail,
Sure of my burps,
No one is there.
Don’t you love farts?
My fault I fear.
I thought that you’d want what I sent.
‘Scuse, my dear.
But where are the cows?
Quick, send in the cows.
Don’t bother, they’re here.
Isn’t it rich?
Isn’t it queer,
Losing my timing this late
In it my rear?
And where are the cows?
There ought to be cows.
Well, maybe next year.

They walk on stage, shake the flab, then demand that if they don’t get plenty o bucks, the cloths come off.
Most of the guys pay out of fear that more gyrations will cause the house to collapse.
If we could bag the cow farts then exchange them on the carbon credit market, that might be a good thing. I’d rather listen to bovine flatulence then an Al Gore speach.
The traffic stats are also illuminating:
