The Progressive scheme to silence their opponents

This is unprecedented in American politics. Nixon had his enemies list, but never did a President and his Party seek to outright silence their opponents. The Progressives from 2003 on have launched non stop attacks on Bush, Republicans and Conservatives. When the few times Conservatives pushed back, they cried that dissent is patriotic. Now that they have power, they seek to silence all those that oppose them.

DSC_0210

President Obama is working systematically to marginalize the most powerful forces behind the Republican Party, setting loose top White House officials to undermine conservatives in the media, business and lobbying worlds.

With a series of private meetings and public taunts, the White House has targeted the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the biggest-spending pro-business lobbying group in the country; Rush Limbaugh, the country’s most-listened-to conservative commentator; and now, with a new volley of combative rhetoric in recent days, the insurance industry, Wall Street executives and Fox News.

Obama aides are using their powerful White House platform, combined with techniques honed in the 2008 campaign, to cast some of the most powerful adversaries as out of the mainstream and their criticism as unworthy of serious discussion.

Press secretary Robert Gibbs has mocked Limbaugh from the White House press room podium. White House aides limited access to the Chamber and made top adviser Valerie Jarrett available to reporters to disparage the group. Everyone from White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel to White House Communications Director Anita Dunn has piled on Fox News by contending it’s not a legitimate news operation.

All of the techniques are harnessed to a larger purpose: to marginalize not only the individual person or organization but also some of the most important policy and publicity allies of the national Republican Party.

Obama and the Progressives are now ordering Media Matters to gather Leftist Media forces for an all out war on FOX News. Had Bush done this to MSNBC which was openly supporting Iran and Al-Qaeda in Iraq, he would of been crucified for that. This is Totalitarianism at it’s purest. Unable to defend their ideology, Obama and the Tranzi Progressives are now going to use their powers to destroy the opposition. Even fellow Democrats are opposing them on this dangerous action. This is an administration that has a supporter of Mao and is praised by Castro and Hugo Chavez! The Obama regime is a Totalitarian Progressive regime that has no intentions of compromise.

Here is an example of the Fascist mindset of this Progressive Regime:

FCC Diversity Czar, Mark Lloyd praising how Chavez silenced the Opposition Press.

The actions of the Obama regime has lead to one conclusion. They are attempting to establish a Progressive Dictatorship. We must do all we can to prevent this and expose their sinister evil anti-humanist agenda!

A to the topic; how is any of this a surprise?
The A Number 1, overriding rule of the hard left is to silence opposition, to prohibit debate, to treat any unorthodoxy (from their perspective) as an embodiment of all evil to such an extent that it must not even get a hearing in the public forum.

It’s old news and an old tactic.

in this case correlation is causation…

the more the progs go after fox news, the higher their ratings and the more active/aware their viewers become.

and for a we’ll see: on my fridge that holds the adult beverages in the basement i wrote a quote:

on 11 may 2009 0 stated that “US gdp will be at 3.5% or higher” for fy 2009 and the last quarter of 2009.

Rush Limbaugh first fell for the “Obama’s thesis” hoax, then recanted later on his show — sort of. He actually said he doesn’t care if the quotes were fake, because “I know Obama thinks it.”

Does that mean it’s OK to use fake racist quotes and attribute them to Limbaugh, because “I know he thinks it?”

You tell me. You’re the one who did it.

I do believe that Obama is making his intentions pretty clear. He seeks total power & will do whatever he can get away with to obtain it.
Look at his Czars, open Marxists & Eugenics supporters. Look at his advisors , cheap little Chicago street thugs.
He siced SEIU thugs on American citizens. He used ACORN as paid workers during his campaign.
He knows that ACORN is a criminal enterprise , he worked for them.
The list goes on & on, but you get the idea.
We need to turn over the House in 2010 & get him out in 2012.

I would find it interesting if the more mainstream and centrist/moderate Donks were so worried that he’s hold them back from re-election that they just do party switches to the GOP before primary season so that they are no longer bound to his lunacy.

The GOP is going to run against Zero, Pelousy and Reid. It’s not going to matter if you ARE a Blue Dog – you’re still a Donk and keeping you in Congress keeps Nazi and Whorey in charge of both Houses.

It’ll be interesting to see what the backlash is from the donks after they’ve had their balls busted for the next 3 years. Originally, I thought the reason he was keeping his birth certificate under wraps was because it would show his mom and dad weren’t legally married. But then we all knew that before the election.

Then he requests that almost every single record about him be sealed. No one can remember seeing him at Columbia and supposedly he graduated magna cum laude at Harvard. If he was MCL, he would have been appointed to the Law Review on his own merits, and not have to be elected. Also, where are his Law Review articles? Anyone worth their salt tries to get published, which is why being the Editor is so important – it guarantees you at least one published article.

Oh, and what law firms, etc., did Zero intern with when he was a 1L and 2L? What law firms did he interview with when he was a 3L. What law firms extended offers? I’d be curious.

Look the press know that if they play along with the Fox thing then they could be next.

This is an outstanding article on the White House tactics being used:

The Chamber can at least take comfort in crowds. Who isn’t on the business end of the White House’s sawed-off shotgun? First up were Chrysler bondholders who—upon balking at a White House deal that rewarded only unions—were privately threatened and then publicly excoriated by the president.

White House targets also aren’t dopes. The corporate community is realizing that playing nice doesn’t guarantee safety. The health executives signed up for reform, only to remain the president’s political piñatas. It surely grates that the unions—now running their own ads against ObamaCare—haven’t been targeted. If the choice is cooperate and get nailed, or oppose and possibly win, some might take that bet

    Old Butch

John was in the fertilized egg business.
He had several hundred young layers (hens), called ‘pullets, and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs.

He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced.

This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he could sit on the porch And fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells.

John’s favorite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch’s bell hadn’t rung at all! When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, could run for cover.

To John’s amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn’t ring. He’d sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.

John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Reinforce County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the No Bell Piece Prize but they also awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well.

Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren’t paying attention.

Vote carefully next year, the bells are not always audible.

    84 | October 23, 2009 3:37 pm

I don’t know if this has been touched on yet, but it case it hasn’t, well….

    From the Entry:

Press secretary Robert Gibbs has mocked Limbaugh from the White House press room podium. White House aides limited access to the Chamber and made top adviser Valerie Jarrett available to reporters to disparage the group. Everyone from White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel to White House Communications Director Anita Dunn has piled on Fox News by contending it’s not a legitimate news operation.

And from yesterday when WHPS Gibbs tried to persuade the WH Press Corp to isolate FOX News from participating in the Corp by alienating them.

Jake Tapper, ABC News: It hasn’t escaped our notice that in the last few weeks the White House has decided to declare war on one of our sister organizations saying it’s not a news organization and tell the rest of the news media to not treat them like a news organization. Can you explain why it’s appropriate for the White House to say one of them is not a news organization and the rest of the media should not treat them like one.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs: We render opinion based on some their coverage and the fairness of that coverage.

Tapper: That’s a pretty sweeping declaration that they’re not a news organization. How are they different from, say another, say ABC, MSNBC, Univision?

Gibbs: You and I should watch sometime around 9 o’clock tonight or five this afternoon.

Tapper: I’m not talking about their opinion programs. Or issues you have with certain reports. I’m talking about saying that thousands of individuals who work for a media organization do not work for a news organization. Why is that appropriate for the White House to say?

    Gibbs: That is our opinion.

Carol E. Lee, Politico: Does that mean the White House doesn’t believe they should be part of the press pool?

Gibbs: The press pool is decide by the White House Correspondents Association.

Lee: So you have no opinion on whether they should be …

Gibbs: I’m not going to delineate for the White House Correspondents Association how the pool is conducted. That’s not my job.

Well, well, well, what an about face the B. Hussien admin had to take when they found the Press Corp was not going to let happen to FOX what could next happen to them if they followed through with the WH’s attempt at censoring a legitimate news outlet.

    From today:

The Obama administration today tried to exclude Fox News from the White House press pool. This attempted act contradicted the spirit and letter of the First Amendment, and the press fought back.

Thursday the White House made “pay czar” Kenneth Feinberg available for interviews to every member of the White House pool except Fox News. The pool is the five-network group that shared the costs and duties of daily coverage of the presidency and has done so for decades.

But in a surprising show of decency, the four other members of the pool — ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN — told the White House if Fox were barred none of them would participate in the interview session.

The administration caved and made Feinberg available for Fox News.

It apparent the MSM had to step up to the plate and consolidate their power to insure they would not be next to be on the receiving end of a B. Hussein hatchet job.

re: #85 by Sarah the Elder

Did you see my post from last night on those numbers. Here it is.

    Now here’s something to ponder.

I took the time to count the comment totals of 1.0 v. 2.0 for the last 9 threads because I truly believe we have surpassed them in not only quality of writers but over all comments. The writing speaks for itself here and not there.

Anyway this is what I found. And these are real numbers with the exception of the newer threads that may have grown slightly on either side since the initial count.

    2.0

    Current thread 127
    605
    241
    289
    380
    70
    155
    315
    320

    2502 total

    1.0

    Current thread 272
    95
    232
    100
    224
    240
    261
    372
    74

    1870 total

I just may do this again in the near future as proof 1.0 has been overshadowed by 2.0 and will be more so in the future. I’ve been noticing this trend for the past few months and it looks like we are clearly on the rise and surpassing them and they dig bottom then dig.

I noticed that too! Don’t forget hippie’s most loyal sharmuta..she posts alot of fluff attempting to fill up threads too. If they all put in their obligatory 10 comments they can at LEAST get it over the 100 comment line to save face. And I think hippie starts new threads sooner than usual these days to cover for low comment counts….he can act like people “chose” to comment in the new thread rather than the older one. Keep it moving.

  103. 103 | October 23, 2009 3:48 pm

    re: #97 by song_and_dance_man

That really just isn’t a fair comparison. (I know I should be cheering on the fact but fair is fair & true is true)

In my opinion, you would also have to take into consideration the amount of time that each thread exists.

Threads tend to “die” once the next one comes up. Thus, if we are putting up 2 a day, and he is putting up 10, saying our threads have 1,000 comments isn’t really fair when compared to an LGF thread that was only up for 1.5 hours.

If you disagree, let me know.

There’s been a bit of talk today here & @ other places about how Fox was excluded from the Feinberg interview & how the other news outlets came to their aid. Here’s a take on what really happened:

Adding to the Fox News v. White House feud today is a dust-up over an interview with pay czar Ken Feinberg. Turns out, it was a sort of miscommunication, but the White House adds that if they had left Fox out it would be a case of “Not that there’s anything wrong with that!”

The version Fox has pushed all day is that the network was excluded from an interview roundtable with Feinberg yesterday, and that bureau chiefs from ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN came to Fox’s defense.

TPMDC dug into it, and here’s what happened.

Feinberg did a pen and pad with reporters to brief them on cutting executive compensation. TV correspondents, as they do with everything, asked to get the comments on camera. Treasury officials agreed and made a list of the networks who asked (Fox was not among them).

But logistically, all of the cameras could not get set up in time or with ease for the Feinberg interview, so they opted for a round robin where the networks use one pool camera. Treasury called the White House pool crew and gave them the list of the networks who’d asked for the interview.

The network pool crew noticed Fox wasn’t on the list, was told that they hadn’t asked and the crew said they needed to be included. Treasury called the White House and asked top Obama adviser Anita Dunn. Dunn said yes and Fox’s Major Garrett was among the correspondents to interview Feinberg last night.

Simple as that, we’re told, and the networks don’t want to be seen as heroes for Fox.

    re: #102 by WrathofG-d

Why does it matter how often a thread is posted? The commenters are going to go to the new thread anyway and the numbers would remain the same no matter what was posted. Now you know, as well as I, that most of the time the discussing diverts to other interests both here and there after about 50 comments, so I really don’t see the significance of what blog has more threads than the other. I think Moe makes a more valid point where a sampling over time of the totals is more indicative of the overall trend. My contention is that our blog, 2.0, is just getting to the point where a comparison cannot be made since our growing and large numbers are relatively new. Maybe I will revisit this in 3 months or so, after time has elapsed where a better comparison can be made.

I could write it. It really isn’t that impressive. You couldn’t do it in a day, but the karma bullshit is probably the hardest thing to implement. The basics that werer LGF for such a long time, a three column front page and comment threads (remember, registration is fairly new. I didn’t think it would fuck up LGH, but, in retrospect, that is when it started downhill) isn’t particularly difficult to write.

What I find incredible is simply go back to this site’s archives for June/July. Maybe three threads a day. Maybe 40-50 posts per thread.

Then more and more refugees, the banned, et al. washed up on the shores. Now four to five threads a day, and each one seeming to go over 200 posts, with the weekend threads hitting 600 or 700 – heck we got 900 one Saturday night.

In three months. And there was no big blog-o-discovery like a throbbing memo, that got the name national recognition.

Nope. Just the people that ran or were banend from another blog that decided it was the final arbiter of what was best for America. And was wrong in the process.

It also helped that at the inception of 2.0 there was a solid core of admins and posters. And that is a fact.

I believed then as now that we will take over where they left off, hence the name 2.0. The new version and upgrade.
