The Nightly Icarus Chronicles

This is that thread to discuss the latest rants or antics of that failed Progressive blogger. The one where you let out frustrations and laugh at the antics of Radical Far Left Blogger Charles “Icarus” Johnson.

This video shows the jealousy Johnson has for Blogmocracy.

This is the Overnight Thread!

Update: here is another funny video describing the paranoia of Charles “Icarus” Johnson.

(Video Hat Tip: typicalwhitey)

Update: This picture aptly portrays what has happened to the real life Icarus.

Someone should write a summary of the peculiar theological dogma of lgf.

Deists are acceptable because the Founding Fathers were deists.

    Deists can be evolutionists.

Theists are creationists, and not to be tolerated.

Praying to God for good things is acceptable.
Praying to God for bad things is theologically incorrect.

    Anybody recall more?

When science writers act like propagandists, they can hardly be surprised when there reports are distrusted.

Funny. Mrs Federalist is an avid Facebook follower and just tonight followed a link to the blog of the person to whom Bill Ayers made the claim that he wrote Obama’s books. As Mrs Federalist was reading the comments, she made the comment, “Man, the left is really mean and nasty without saying much. There is some comment on here about how some people from something called Little Green Footballs have shown up and now the comments are getting nasty”. This was really her first exposure to those kinds of blog comments — I got to tell her that I’d been banned from LGF about 1 year ago for disagreeing with the direction of the anti-creation threads and how it had gotten even more crazy since.

Well yes indeed. Because God didn’t do their will they turn on God with hate. Have seen this in my brother. It comes down to they really didn’t know that much of the Bible and God to begin with. So they have to blame God for all the bad things in the world. Well wake-up I say we have free will and we don’t live forever.
Most of the time our own actions are the result of some bad things. Action=reation. If we don’t have deep believe or some belief in God they blame it on if there was a God this would not have happened.
As the Bible says it rains on the just and unjust.
If we let go of God and let hate sink in it only makes it worse.
Although bad things happen God can help you through it. This I know from experience.
But I believe cj was agnostic pre-9/11
now he has crossed over to being atheist.
(His mother was ill with cancer and she may have succombed to it. His grief may have turned to anger…thus the now hatred of all things concerning God).
God is patient and may he see the light somewhere down the line. Although he has given up on God, God has not given up on him.

And the difference between Obama’s deficit spending to spur the economy is that in past years money was thrown at job creation tasks like the R&D credit, lowered taxes for small businesses, etc and this time the money is going to longer unemployment benefits and other social welfare types of payments.

With cap and trade costing the average family somewhere around $1800 a year and with health reform costing the average family almost $20K per year more in 2019 according to the Deloitte Touche study, this will be a jobless limp recovery if those items pass.

CJ has a soul mate in Michael Moore when it comes to accusing people of being “stalkers” when they do what Michael Moore himself does:

But less is known about a cottage industry that has emerged in recent years: filmmakers looking to take on the 55-year-old Moore at his own game.

There’s Minnesota filmmaker Michael Wilson, who made 2004’s “Michael Moore Hates America.” It portrays Moore as being disingenuous to his interview subjects and profiting from their misfortune.

“Fahrenhype 9/11,” written in part by former Clinton administration adviser Dick Morris, and “Celsius 41.11,” directed by Kevin Knoblock, both from 2004, defended George W. Bush as he sought reelection. “Michael & Me,” directed by Republican talk-show host Larry Elder, came out a year later, defending gun advocates against Mr. Moore’s claims.

Then came “Me & Michael,” a 2006 spoof on Moore’s tactics. After director Willard Morgan pesters and follows Moore for months, mimicking Moore’s style, Moore calls him a “stalker” and suggests he get medical help.

    :-)

This is an automated reply from the Bullshit Detector at Little Green Footballs.

Your recent post contained troll-like characteristics which resemble the type

of message sent by spoiled ISM members on summer holiday, college students who

have recently inhaled Noam Chomsky’s foul rantings, Adam Shapiro wannabes,

Nazi sympathizers, or genuine [bigoted word]s.

In order to prevent another thread being hijacked, and to send your message to

the appropriate department for response (FOAD, GAZE, Go Away Gordon, or The Bus

To Rachel Corrie’s Tomb Is Leaving – Be Sure You’re Under It), kindly reply to

    the following questions:

    1. Are you aware that the Disputed Territories never belonged to the

“Palestinians” and only came into Israeli possession as a result of the

1967 six day war in which Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon all massed forces at

Israel’s border in order to “push the Jews into the sea”. The Arabs lost and

Israel took control of the land. Do you agree that if the [bigoted word]s don’t

want to lose territory to Israel, then they shouldn’t start wars? Do you agree

that there is justice that Israel, who as far back as 1948 has always sought

peace with her far larger neighbors, should live in prosperity – making the

desert bloom – while the residents of 19 adjacent Arab countries who are blessed

with far more land as well as oil wealth live in their own feces?

    2. Did you know that the “Palestinians” could have had their own country as far

back as 1948 had they accepted the UN sponsored partition plan which gave

Israel AND the Palestinians a countries of their own on land which Jews had

lived on for thousands of years before Mohammed ever had a wet dream about

virgins? The Arabs rejected the UN offer and went to war with the infant Israeli

nation. The Arabs lost and have been whining about it ever since. Do you
agree this is like a murderer who kills his parents and asks for special

treatment since he is now an orphan?

    3. Can you tell us ANY Arab country which offers Jews the right to be

citizens, vote, own property, businesses, be a part of the government

or have ANY of the rights which Israeli Arabs enjoy? Any Arab country which

gives those rights to Christians? How about to other Arabs? Wouldn’t you just

LOVE to be a citizen of Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iran, or Syria?

    4. Since as many Jews (approximately 850,000) were kicked out of Arab

countries as were Arabs who left present day Israel (despite being literally

begged to stay), why should Arabs be permitted to return to Israel if Jews

aren’t allowed to set foot in Arab countries? Can you explain why Arabs can

worship freely in Israel but Jews would certainly be hung from street lamps

after having their intestines devoured by an Arab mob if they so much as

    entered an Arab country?

    5. Israel resettled and absorbed all of the Jews from Arab countries who wished

to become Israelis. Why haven’t any Arab countries offered to resettle Arabs who

were displaced from Israel, leaving them to rot for 60 years in squalid refugee

camps? And why are those refugee camps still there? Could it be that the

billions of dollars that the UNWRA has sent there goes to terrorist groups like

Hamas, Islamic Jihad, El Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, or Hezbollah? How did Yassir

Arafat achieve his $300 million in wealth? Why aren’t these funds

    distributed for humanitarian use?

    6. Did you know that the Arabs in the disputed territories (conquered by

Israel in the 1967 war which was started by Arabs) and who are not Israelis

already have two countries right now? And that they are called Egypt and Jordan?

    7. If your complaint is about the security fence which Israel is finally

building in the Disputed Territories, are you aware that it is built solely to

keep the “brave” Arab terrorists out so that they can no longer self detonate on

busses, in dining halls or pizzerias and kill Jewish20grandmothers and

schoolchildren? Why are the Arabs so brave when they target unarmed civilians

but even when they outnumber their opponents they get their sandy asses

kicked all the way to Mecca when they are faced with Jewish soldiers? Why do

Arab soldiers make the French look like super heroes?

    8. Please explain why you are so concerned about Arabs, who possess 99%

of the land in this region and are in control of the world’s greatest natural

resource, which literally flows out of the ground? Can’t their brother muslims

offer some of the surplus land and nature’s riches to the “Palestinians”?

Or is it true that Arabs are willing to die right down to the last “Palestinian”?

    9. Why do you not exhibit the same level of concern for say, people in Saudi

Arabia who are beheaded, subject to amputation, stoning, honor killing etc.?

What about women who are denied any semblance of basic civil rights,

including the right not to be treated as property for the entertainment and abuse

of her fa ther, brothers, or husbands? What about the Muslims in Sudan and

Egypt who are still enslaved, or the women there whose genitalia are

barbarically cut off? How about the oppression of Shiites by Sunnis, the

gassing of the Kurds by Iraq, or the massacre of “Palestinians” by Jordan

(Black September)? Why doesn’t this concern you?

    10. Did you ever stop to wonder how much better off everyone in the region would

be if Arabs stopped trying to kill Jews and destroy Israel? What would happen if

the Israelis gave up their weapons and disarmed? Would they live to see the

next day? But what would happen if the Arabs completely disarmed? You know the

answer: They would all be AT PEACE! And if there is no war to rile them up, the

Arabs would be forced to look at their own repressive, pre-medieval societies.

Why would they want to do that when there are Jews to kill?

    11. Have you heard “People who define themselves primarily by what they hate,

rather than who they love, are doomed to failure and misery”? Can you see the
    0A

parallels to the Arabs, who are blessed with land and oil, but still gladly

train their children to kill themselves in order to kill Jews? Have you heard

Golda Meir’s words to the effect of “There will be peace when the Arabs love

their children more than they hate ours”? Why do the Arabs hate so much?

One last post and then I really must sleep.

I wonder if Ludwig has this factored into his vast statistical model accounting for all variables ever.

Algae may be secret weapon in climate change war

FOX News by Ruth Morris – Thu Oct 22, 2:56 am ET
MIAMI (AFP) – Driven by fluctuations in oil prices, and seduced by the prospect of easing climate change, experts are ramping up efforts to squeeze fuel out of a promising new organism: pond scum.

As it turns out, algae — slimy, fast-growing and full of fat — is gaining ground as a potential renewable energy source.

Experts say it is intriguing for its ability to gobble up carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, while living happily in places that aren’t needed for food crops.

ExxonMobil said it would sink 600 million dollars into algae research in a partnership with a California biotechnology company.

If the research pans out, scientists say they will eventually find a cost-effective way to convert lipids from algae ponds into fuel, then pump it into cars, trucks and jets.

“I think it’s very realistic. I don’t think it’s going to take 20 years. It’s going to take a few years,” said chemical engineer George Philippidis, director of applied research at Florida International University in Miami.

One of the factors fueling enthusiasm is algae’s big appetite for carbon dioxide — a by-product of burning fossil fuels.

“We could hook up to the exhaust of polluting industries,” Philippidis said. “We could capture it and feed it to algae and prevent that CO2 from contributing to further climate change.”

If research goes well, Swiger thinks it will take five years to bring down production costs to 40 dollars per gallon.

But taking even a tiny chunk out of the energy market — ethanol has eked out a 4.0 percent share, for example — can shift the energy mix.

“Four percent is not a lot, and yet everywhere you look there’s a pump,” Swiger said. “So four percent of a gigantic number is a lot.”

Some start-ups are more optimistic. Paul Woods, chief executive of Florida-based Algenol Biofuels, says his company will beat others to market.

He has patented a technology for “sweating” ethanol from algae, without drying it first.

Woods announced a partnership with Dow Chemical in July to build a demonstration plant, and expects to launch commercial production by 2011.

Instead, he sees algae as a good source for animal feeds, chemicals and fertilizer.

Back at FIU, Philippidis agreed “there is no silver bullet” to reduce dependency on fossil fuels.

But he saw promise on the horizon, especially as larger companies become involved in algae research. “We are still at an early stage… but as we scale up (production) I think costs will come down very, very quickly,” he said.

One big reason I left 1.0. Too much fundamentalism there to be tolerated by the average thinking person. The religion of science has a death grip on most over there and it is actually laughable at times.

There is that constant disgust for religion and religious people, yet with all those scientific folks over there, not one can come up with a rational discussion on the science of why the human person has a natural inclination to belief and religion. Reasonable people discuss and argue, unreasonable people ridicule and and ban.

Dahiyah – meaning the suburb in Arabic – is the Hezbollah stronghold that was heavily targeted by Israel during its war with the militant Shiite group during the Second Lebanon War in 2006. The bombardment leveled Hezbollah’s headquarters as well as entire blocks across the neighborhood.

Now, the sprawling Shiite suburb of south Beirut has made a comeback after the destruction from the 2006 fighting, a symbol of the community’s resilience at a time when its political patron, Hezbollah, is seeking a greater voice in Lebanon’s government.

Dozens of newly built or repaired apartment blocs stand in place of those destroyed, the result of a reconstruction program led by Hezbollah, which receives millions of dollars a year in aid from its ally Iran.

Post-9/11, I used to think that, too. Then I started reading comments by conservative Brits on various blogs, and my opinion changed. i still respect him for his standing with the US and Bush, but he is not the great man you appear to think he is. Don’t forget his wife, Cherie Blair, a QC who has legally fought for shari’s in Britain. Tony Blair is definitely a mixed bag.

Yep, watched them all. His upcoming trial will be a must read/follow; it’s scary that he’s going to be on trial at all. I view Wilders, when it comes to Europe and shari’a, to be the canary with bad hair in the coal mine. His situation is far worse than Ezra Levant’s and Mark Steyn’s; they only dealt with the Canadian Human Rights Commission, facing monetary damages. Wilders has the real possibility of conviction and jail time. If the islamists get Wilders convicted, we — as in Western Civilization — all lose.

A lot of folks agree with you Rick, just not around when you express it.The 2nd is the fine line between tyranny and liberty.

Well, after yesterday, there are some people here who apparently feel the 2nd Amendment is window dressing, and is not to be viewed in the manner in which Jefferson intended it. Like you said, he felt is was the line between tyranny and liberty. But some do not understand what that really means, what the consequences are, nor do they subscribe to Jefferson’s “The Tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the Blood of Patriots and Tyrants” statement. They seem to feel that our institutions will save us, no matter how corrupt those institutions are becoming. We’ve already had so much voter fraud, from Gore in Florida in 2000, to Kerry in Ohio in 2004, to the Washington State governor’s race in 2004, to Al Franken winning the Minnesota Senate race last year that it is scary. Couple that with ACORN’s growth, which may be only temporarily stymied, the census next year, and shamnesty, 2012 could very well be our last free election. (That is one thing all tyrannies have in common: One last free election.) It’s not like the media’s going to report the story in any meaningful or truthful way. They didn’t do it with Obie, so why should they start doing it with something mundane like election fraud?

    From that article:

This is not your normal district, it has remained in Republican hands since the Civil war, this district is quite Conservative compared to other congressional districts in the state, and the cast of candidates is interesting at the least. We have a Republican who is running as a Conservative, we have a radical leftist running as a Republican, and we have a Independent liberal running as a Democrat.

For those who want this to be about a “third party” get over yourselves, this is about fixing the Republican party and electing Doug Hoffman to Congress. Conservatism is the Republican party, now we need the Republican party to be Conservatism in terms of the candidates they nominate.

This guy is a bit off base, to be kind. It IS about a third, or Conservative, party, especially when the Republicans run someone who is endorsed by KOS, ferchrisakes. If the Repubs are willing to go with the (R) rather than the principle, then I, and many others, will either vote a Conservative Independent (or even Democrat) or sit the election out. It is all too apparent that voting for the lesser of two evils has gotten old and untenable. If it takes election loss pain to make the RNC wake up and smell the coffee, then that is what many will do. RINOs are not acceptable anymore, nor is someone like Scozzafava, who would give RINOs a good name. Many are really fed up with party over principle BS. That’s how we got McLame, who didn’t even try to win the election. The only reason he did as well as he did was Sarah Palin, and the campaign staffers pissed all over her from the get-go; even McCain didn’t have her back. People remember that little bit of political hubris, and will not forget.

It’s not just the fine line, it is the double yellow. There is a reason that freedom of speach is number one, and bearing arms is number two. A citizenry unarmed against a tyranical oppressive government is powerless to stop that government from removing all other liberties. If we lose that right, we are literally at the mercy of elected leaders to follow the rules of our society with our constitution foremost on their mind. Many elected members of our representative government have already shown that the constitution doesn’t receive even a passing notice. Even if you did trust these boobs, will we be able to trust every future boob.

When I am chastised for speaking of Revolution because there really are commies in the White House, what am I to think? The comments were that my statements might get this blog in trouble. Fear. It was also stated that any revolt would be useless as it would be bloodily crushed. Cowardice.

Maybe it’s my age, I’m 53, and like VT, I’ve never “seen domestic danger such as this at the top of the government food chain.” I witnessed the Dems having conniption fits over Watergate, but now trashing the Constitution and the Rule of Law, so I do not have any warm and fuzzies as there is no Sam Ervin on the political horizon. Decisions by each will have to be made, and not pretty or safe ones. We have forgotten, thanks to the Gramscian march through the schools, just what it is that makes our Government unique, of how we had to fight to have it. Also forgotten is the adage that we are only one generation removed from the loss of Liberty. There seems to be an attitude of “It Can’t Happen Here.” Well, yes, it can. And it is happening now. Whether we like it or not.

State TV: Iran Wants to Buy Nuclear Fuel for Research Reactor, Fails to Accept U.N. Plan
    Friday, October 23, 2009
    PrintShareThis
TEHRAN, Iran — State TV says Iran wants to buy nuclear fuel it needs for a research reactor rather than accept a U.N.-drafted plan to ship much of its uranium to Russia for further enrichment.

“Iran is interested in buying fuel for the Tehran research reactor within the framework of a clear proposal … we are waiting for the other party’s constructive and trust-building response,” Iranian TV quoted a member of Iran’s negotiating team as saying, Reuters reports.

Iran’s response will come as a disappointment to the U.S., Russia and France, which all endorsed the U.N. plan Friday that called for Iran to ship its uranium stockpile to Russia rather than continue what is believed to be an weapons-grade enrichment program. The three countries formulated the draft plan in three days of talks with Iran in Vienna that ended Wednesday.

Americans will eventually come around to the right choice, they just need to be awakened first. 4 years of the Zero should do the trick. The Zero can see his political capital fading, and it is causing him to make some bad moves. His attack on Fox has backfired already. The other 4 networks have openly revolted for the first time since his 2004 speach. The Zero has never before faced limitations on his snake oil sales pitches. It is harder to hide who he really is as POTUS, as compared to when he was a mere candidate.

I do believe when you have people more worried about their government handouts than commies in government, it is self-delusion and self-denial. There is nothing that can be done to educate such people; they’ve made their choice.

Only 1/3 of the Colonial population fought to give America her birth. 1/3 actively fought against that birth, and 1/3 watched on the sidelines to see which way the wind was blowing. Today, that’s about 100 million in each category, including women and children. The numbers are never good, but it audacity and luck that will rule the day. Being comfortable and safe, while hoping someone else will fix the problem, will not do it.

Where was this concern when the government openly tppk control of several large banks and two auto companies? For that matter, where were they during the last 30 years as the government has been gradually taking over our educational systems?

Unfortunately the Moderate Republicans have adopted a firmly held superstition that Conservatives are a tiny minority in the country that can be jettisoned without ill effect, and that their loss can be easily overcome by courting “independent centrists” and disaffected Democrats. Sadly for the Moderates, the numbers of the Conservatives are much larger (like half the party) than they want to believe, while the types they want to hustle into their Big Tent are in the end, liberal Democrats who will when the chips are down, vote Democrat.

With ever increasing government bureaucracies, at all levels, those taking the gub’mint cheese (salary in this case) will be opposed to any upsetting of their apple cart (to mix metaphors). They are not uninformed, but know that it is the government that butters their bread. How do you propose we educate such bureaucrats?

If they didn’t come out in solidarity with Fox, they were doomed. Because even in their slavish worship of Zero, they have to know, in their tiny hearts, that this was the administration’s attempt to fire a warning shot across the bow of the SS FREE PRESS. If they allowed Fox to be treated in this manner, they would be stumped when a real scandal broke that they couldn’t ignore (and you KNOW one is coming – it’s inevitable) and would be fearful of administration backlash if they began printing the stories.

That, and they can’t help but look at their declining circulations/viewership and Zero’s matching declining poll numbers. It’s about time they “cowboyed up” and said “okay, we got you elected, but we’re done now. You’re screwing us nine ways to Sunday and we’re going back to honest reporting.” And that’s the day Zero fears most. This was a test to see just how much they really could control the media. And the sad answer for them is that they can’t.

And the two-faced ACLU, who should have been the FIRST to denounce these attempts by this administration, just blew any credibility they had left.

I saw this at Gateway Pundit this morning.

Disgusting Chris Matthews: “The Group In This Country That Most Resembles The Taliban Is The Religious Right” (Video)

Far Left crank Chris Matthews attacked Christians on his show yesterday.
Matthews said Christians in the United States resemble the Taliban…
When was the last time you read about a Christian suicide bomber in America, Chris?

    http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/2009/10/disgusting-chris-matthews-the-group-in-this-country-that-most-resembles-the-taliban-is-the-religious-right/

The interview is nothing but a stupid typical Matthews yelling match, with the “leg tingler” smearing the religious right at the very end. Of course Matthews gets it all wrong, the left/liberals/progressives here in American most resembles the Taliban.

The Taliban attempts to control people through force, left/liberals/progressives do the same. See town hall meetings for one example.

I will gladly accept any plausible explanation – such as yours. But how did the reins get put into those hands? Is it where the big contributions come from?

Specifically, was Senator McCain “instructed” to pick Mrs Palin? Like the big-money guys got together and said “we’ll fund your campaign, but only if you do A, B, and C?”

Yes, pretty much exactly like that. The Christian far right, led by people like James Dobson, made it very clear that they were going to oppose John McCain — even after he won the nomination — primarily because of his (sort-of) moderate stand on abortion. Sarah Palin was brought on board specifically to overcome the religious right’s opposition, and it worked.

And then McCain lost, in part because the centrists who were attracted to him because he wasn’t a Mike Huckabee fanatic were so turned off by Sarah Palin and her extreme social conservatism.

I agree. I know all to well the insidious effects of liberalism (My Mother was/IS a liberal) and I grew up with questions like “How does that make you “feeeeeeel”, when proposed with a tough life question asked to her in seeking guidance and decisions that could hurt me morally and spiritually. Needless to say, my childhood was oftentimes confusing and scary. That’s why I’m so conservative!! I KNOW where that road leads. Libs think kids have the capacity to “feel” so therefore they have the capacity to make moral decisions sexually and otherwise (ie: NAMBLA). If a joke like THAT doesn’t bother someone in their core, there is something SERIOUSLY eschewed in their belief system and is probably representative of even darker thoughts, etc.

It is pretty much agreed among those who actually have expertise in the political sciences that had McCain NOT picked Sarah Palin, he would have taken an even larger beating at the polls. The only person who seems to have had a problem with Sarah Palin are the phoney “moderates” like Chaz.

Which tells me he voted for Obama – not McCain. Because if he DID vote for McCain, he then disproves his own theory – he is a supposed moderate, disapproved of Sarah Palin, and voted for the McCain ticket anyway.

It is doubtful that many moderates deserted McCain because of his choice of Sarah Palin. Those “moderates” had already drunk the KoolAid and were infatuated with Obama already. The choice of Sarah Palin allowed them to quote Dem Party campaign propaganda smears against her as a justification for voting for Obama. Such “conservatives” as Peggy Noonan, David Brooks, David Frum, Kathleen Parker and Christopher Buckley are famous examples of this.

On the other hand, the choice of Sarah Palin heartened many on the right, and galvanized many disaffected younger Conservatives who were bummed out and were planning to sit out the election. Had McCain made a more conventional choice, he would have lost the election by something like 37% to 67%.

He didn’t – but he didn’t need a mass exodus by the lizards that did vote for McCain – of course, a year later they’ve all been banned or left, and Chaz is left with his six person echo chamber. Now he’s delinked everywhere, the tide is turning against the Chosen One, so he’s desperate to prove that he actually “got it right” when he finally reveals that he voted for the Whine. Hence, his pathological desire to denigrate anyone and anything that doesn’t toe the Zero party line and exposes the Marxist creep for what he is.

Ya got duped, Chaz – admit it. You don’t want to find evidence to justify your voting for Zero in 2012 – you’re looking to neutralize anything this points out what a fool you were for voting for him in 2008.
