AUTHOR!!! AUTHOR!!!!

Yes, just who is that masked man(or woman)? A Nobel Prize is order. If Obama can get one for good intentions then…

re: #1 by coldwarrior
Bite Me Comix!
Get a load of kts prissy little outfit. The helmet gloves and vest look like something out of Village People.LOLOLOLOLOL!
re: #2 by Sparky
this is brilliant!
i want to print it all out and frame it and put it up in my bar!
re: #3 by Rodan
Click the pic.
Is the creator of this gem deliberately remaining cloaked? I’ve seen it at a few sites, but I don’t know who’s who at most of them.
To whoever he/she is, a hearty congratulations on finding a medium that is perfectly suited to portraying current day LGF.
re: #3 by Rodan
Ok, but I’m taking out the comment ext. I thought “click the pic” was sufficient.
re: #6 by m
Gotcha, FYI Bite Me Comics is a registered Blogmocracy Citizen.
Totally inaccurate!
Chuckles doesn’t have a beer gut and Sharmuta is hot
re: #8 by m
It is, It’s cool!!!!!!!!
It’s all good!!!!!!!!
Wouldn’t pay 10 cents for that. Maybe if they paid me for it… nahhh.
re: #9 by Rodan
No No No, I like it like that! I didn’t realize the picture had a link!
You have mad skills!
re: #10 by Doppelganger
But other than that (and add a ponytail to the ponytail)… spot on!
re: #14 by m
I emailed you!. You have to show me that technique! You just gave me some ideas!
I said it before, and I’ll say it again. “BRAVO”.
This is priceless.
This is killing me right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Oooooohhhhhh….. Chuck is going to get mad and ban us all from the inter tubes!
Outstanding work!!! Love it!!!
One question…..where’s the “Ponytail of Doom” ?
re: #16 by DEZ
I know! Love it~
I know people had been talking about it on other threads, but it was just too good not to have it’s own.
~:D
re: #20 by osama bin porkchop
Its a clip on, its in Iceholes purse along with Chuckles withered testes.
re: #21 by m
Oh I agree it needed its own thread.
And I want more of that comic.
re: #22 by DEZ
Gotcha…lol
That is clever stuff…and downright hilarious!
I wee wee’ed a little in my tighties…
Bravo!!!!
Certainly catches the essence of the “Internet Manson” and his sycophants at “Johnsontown”
re: #22 by DEZ
Ha! I wonder if that’s where all their self-respect went.
re: #23 by DEZ
Seriously. Heck, a series of these and we wouldn’t even have to click over there anymore. It’s a great commentary! lol!
So now cj is a comic book hero.
re: #27 by Rubber Soul
Chuck was upset because Buzzsaw called him the Internet Manson. What a maroon. It’s a wonder anyone with any gray matter still post over there. Johnsontown. Heh.
Sorry, made a quick trip to Moon Pie, First thing I see.
Lightspeed Sat, Oct 17, 2009 11:51:06am replyquote * -3* down
re: #511 Charles
Somehow I’ll try to carry on despite your disappointment.
OK, I’m clear now. Unverifiable defamatory quotes someone might have said, but can’t be proven to have said (but can’t NOT be proven) are fair game. Gotcha.
Charles’ wrath will be great, I foresee another round of banning at LGF.
re: #30 by yah
So now cj is a comic book
hero.zero.I had to fix that.
OOOOOPS
re: #32 by Sparky
Hoops is all over it, the idiot is off on a tangent again.
Johnsonville Brats
re: #32 by Sparky
If cj had any real friends, they would advise him to shut lgf down and go seek some mental health care. He is seriously embarrassing himself.
re: #33 by Elrond Hubbard
From what I’ve seen, that’s true. When the diasporosphere mocks him, he gets pissy, and starts banning.
There’s more snark in the pipeline, folks, and so there’ll be more arrivals.
Bite Me! Comics, if you want to make my DECADE, mention me in a future issue!
I am in awe of your cleverness!
How funny and how accurate. LOL
This is going to leave mark.
I no longer read LGF. Apart from being appalled at the 180 degree turn the blog has taken I’d noticed how utterly humorLESS it had become. What a bunch of sourpusses they are.
I love Blogmocracy. It’s not only educational, it’s fun. Keep up the good work.
re: #33 by Elrond Hubbard
Ah, Chairman Mao would be sooooooooooooo proud…..
No wonder Chuckie is so sensitive about Mao-bashing….
re: #40 by goddessoftheclassroom
Hiya Goddess, would you be Wonder Woman? The Golden Lasso of Truth becomes you.
re: #42 by coloratura
Thank you! The posters make the blog, so we’re glad to have ya!
Bite Me Comics, I give full permission to use my name!
re: #42 by coloratura
It’s your support that makes us!
re: #44 by Sparky
Oh, how sweet of you! I’d be happy with a comment along the lines of, “Don’t look now, Charles, but goddessoftheclassroom is praying for you again!”
Well, GotC, maybe that woul dhave to be an important update from Wild Irish Rose or something, as she scours the internetweb for any and all things Chuck.
Make way for Lightspeed, and he would be perfect for the comic.
re: #49 by Bite Me! Comics
You are a genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!
re: #49 by Bite Me! Comics
uhm yeah, you rock.
CJ really is an oppressive humorless dictator.
And he is as thin skinned as Zero who also can’t stand anyone who might disagree with him about anything.
Men like this can’t be trusted. They are capable of such vindictive behavior because they are so insecure.
re: #49 by Bite Me! Comics
OMG, you’re here! I’m SWOONING!
re: #49 by Bite Me! Comics
BRILLIANT!
well done.
re: #48 by goddessoftheclassroom
Hah!
re: #42 by coloratura
Exactly, Charles has wrung the humor out of LGF, that’s why this comic is so devestatingly
on target. When people start laughing at your efforts, it’s time to close up shop.
Gee, now I’m a little embarrassed. I wa sjust bored, and wanted to try out the whole satire with old comic books thing. Who knew?
re: #48 by goddessoftheclassroom
hehehehe…..
re: #49 by Bite Me! Comics
Great work. You really nailed each moonbat perfectly.
I loved it.
re: #54 by goddessoftheclassroom
RM is home from the hospital, recuperating after a successful surgery. She asked me to tell you hello.
Last week I watched a tiny lizard snap a big beetle out of the air. It was too big to go down the little lizard’s throat. The lizard worked and worked, got it part way down. But the bug would not go down and the lizard could not get it out either. His eyes bugged out, his chest heaved for air. Transfixed, I watched him struggle for 15 or more minutes. He watched me watching him. He finally got it down.
Makes me think of the predicament ck has got himself into. He’s going to choke on his own creation.
re: #58 by Bite Me! Comics
you own the franchise for that now.
i cant wait for the next installment!
re: #10 by Doppelganger
I caught that too.
re: #58 by Bite Me! Comics
Actually, when I think of the funny farm, Space Ghost comes to mind, but how’s that supposed to work? CJ as Spaceghost interviewing Mao Tse Tung on his floating TV monitor?
re: #65 by snork
That’s a good idea! LOL.
Let’s see, easy math,
3 hours a day , 5 days a week, 48 weeks a year(with vacation), for 20 years(roughly). Somewhere around 14,000 hours of air time. And they got what, less than one minute of iffy quotes. Lets see, easy math. 14000 hours at 60 minutes per hour. 864,000 minutes. I wish I were that chasted. Some might call me a Saint.
Too bad Rush can’t go back in the archives and delete his posts like CfnJ, then he would be perfect too.
Heads exploding in Culver City, Mineapolis, Grand Rapids and Indiana.
re: #53 by chickadee
CJ is a Stalinst prig with all the humor of a Beria.
re: #48 by goddessoftheclassroom
I’ve prayed for that guy too, I’m not crazy about attacking him personally (I may have gotten a little personal) but I will expose the failure and the foolishness of his believe system and the garbage coming out of his blog.
re: #66 by Bite Me! Comics
For you:

re: #49 by Bite Me! Comics
Brilliant work!
Irish Rose is on a retreat renewing herself due to the stress of all the basing of her beloved “Mr. Johnson.”
actually Irish Rose’s attempt to shutdown this blog and her drive by at Zombies place(the infamous attack then crawl back to the hive and lie about her post being deleted when a simple click shows it’s still there) practically writes itself
re: #73 by Rubber Soul
She stepped in it real good.
and their paranoia over table 9….
re: #68 by Speranza
No way I am cleaning up that mess!
re: #68 by Speranza
And in some trout pond in Ory Gun.
re: #70 by davehm
Charles can’t get the truth at his own blog. Someone has to show him he has lost some of his integrity. Humor like Bite Me comic is good. However he derives the essence of the message back to him over the destruction of his LGF community is up to him.
OT: I had stopped eating bacon long ago due to progressive health and green concerns. Recently had a bacon cheeseburger. It was great. WTH was I thinking? I’m waiting for a political party to adopt the slogan “Bacon Eaters”
re: #74 by davehm
Irish Rose, in a futile attempt, tries to wipe herself off her shoes.
re: #66 by Bite Me! Comics
I love the idea of GOTC praying for Chuck. Perhaps, if you want to depict something REALLY heinous, something REALLY racistfascistcreationist, something truly ban-worthy, you could have a little old lady offer Our Hero some fruitcup.
re: #58 by Bite Me! Comics
May you be a little bored always! Outstanding work! [thunderous applause]
re: #76 by DEZ
We’ll just call in the Wolf.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANPsHKpti48
re: #79 by DEZ
funny!
Too much energy being spent on this “Defender of Maoist’s-Cult Leader-Hypocrite-Drama Queen”.
I could go on and on about my deranged ex-wife……but I’ve better things to do.
But for you recently banned, RANT ON!
re: #80 by wolfie
Or Zombie offering some tips on real journalism.
re: #82 by davehm
Excuse the language
re: #82 by davehm
You rang?
re: #82 by davehm
I like it!
re: #87 by wolfie
We got exploding heads all over creation//LOL
Chuckles is pol potbelly and his arm the knmer stooges
BITE ME! Comics – this is just brilliant. I have long thought that the postings on 1.0 have been something out of a comic book.
This is one hell-of-a site!
#85- “Or Zombie offering some tips on real journalism.”
Boy, isn’t that the truth! (All comics should have a zombie in them, anyway!)
This is so funny! Just need to photoshop a pony tail.
re: #84 by IslandLibertarian
This is the dedicated Chuckie thread. Now if we can keep it here, that’s the trick.
sharmutant: “I’m so sorry Charles. Why are they turning on you?!”
Heh™
re: #92 by wolfie
Yes Zombies and Werewolves. Maybe a Vampire thrown in for biting laughs.
re: #93 by ladycatnip
Yep. A ponytail on the horse’s ass and it’s SPOT ON!
re: #97 by m
Speaking of vampires m, Halloween is near, any chance we get to dress up and show off for the night?
I’ll bet he threatens to call our host server, as if that will do him any good. The son of a bitch is not happy playing bss on his own boring blog – now he has to play God.
re: #84 by IslandLibertarian
for once everyone is on topic!
re: #98 by Sparky
There is a rumor that m will dress as Sharmuta and Vagabond trader as iceweasel.
That comic book is some funny stuff. lol I cant wait for the next installment. lol lol lol
re: #100 by coldwarrior
OT, Michal Jackson is still dead.
re: #95 by m
sharmutant: “I’m so sorry Charles. Why are they turning on you?!”
charles: taht is because They are all a bunch of wingnut, Beckites, creationists, raaacists, my ugly sycophant!
re: #97 by m
Yay ponytail!!!!
lol
re: #48 by goddessoftheclassroom
Well you HAVE gone ROGUE!
re: #101 by Speranza
Ewwww…vicious rumors started at 1.0 blog I’m sure. m really makes a really good vampire, were you here for before the great avatar ban of 09?
re: #103 by DEZ
“OT, Michael Jackson is still dead.”
and asswhistle is still a bitch.
re: #107 by Sparky
You mean here on the blogmocracy or LGF? I last posted on LGF in December 2008.
re: #99 by Speranza
“now he has to play God.”
There in lies the problem, it’s a Nero complex, a person who does not have a reverence for God who completely rejects God will remove everything that reminds him of God and then, in their own mind become God expecting others to worship him like God.
re: #84 by IslandLibertarian
The man has relentlessly gone after his enemies (many innocent) to destroy them. I’m thrilled to see karma working.
re: #108 by Speranza
Icewhistle would have to have several demotions to reach bitch.
That is the foulest human I have ever seen on the net.
re: #106 by m
That will make his head explode. I thin HoosierHoops handles the prayer list now. It sued to be wahabicorridor until she asked Sharmuta “Hey have you herd from ____?” (a former LGFer from Georgia). Then the saintly Eyerash Rose se took over and now HH.
re: #101 by Speranza
Its male or female side?
re: #109 by Speranza
No here, m had a great pic up off and on , just to tease us. Never the whole face, just glancing views, sigh….
PIMF – “used” not “sued”
All they need to do is add a disclaimer, something to the effect of “any similarities to persons living or dead is purely coincidental.”
re: #112 by DEZ
second only to that kedja creature
re: #115 by Sparky
Oh ok I do recall that avatar of hers. She ahd several avatars.
re: #58 by Bite Me! Comics
Get bored more often…lol
Brilliant stuff there
re: #118 by Doppelganger
Agreed, I had wiped that name from memory.
I need a drink now.
wolfie!!!!
When did you arrive??
re: #118 by Doppelganger
Medusa? (I always liked that nickname for her. I believe ploome came up with it.)
Has anyone posted this at HotAir?
It’ll spread like wildfire!
I can’t believe I have Issue #1 of Race Detective!!!
Comic Book Guy in Springfield is so jealous.
re: #124 by Rightside
ACE needs it too.I’ll post it at Zip.
re: #58 by Bite Me! Comics
Well done!
Forgive my chutzpah, but might I suggest you have an episode where Johnson, Trout, Sharmuta and Iceweasel appear as they “really” are : not sexy, but ordinary, middle-aged, matronly (or whatever the “reality” is in your mind). Perhaps the correlator tool is machine which among other things has a function which glamorizes the race-detective team in their own eyes.
OT:
In the news: Ted Kennedy has now been sober for seven weeks.
In other news: Chivas Regal has announced they are laying off 60 workers, due to an unprecedented slump in sales.
re: #127 by Overlook
“…but might I suggest you have an episode where Johnson, Trout, Sharmuta and Iceweasel appear as they “really” are..”
“Pigs in Space”…?
I think the Muppet guy already did that one.
re: #49 by Bite Me! Comics
Mad graphics skills.
Superb satirical writing.
Kudos, BiteMe.
VT !!!
Actually, I started commenting here ages ago, right after the election, using a different nic. But I just took a looooong, complete break from all blogs for the last 6+ months and have just come back. How good to see you and so many other familiar nics!
(I can use my old 1.0 nic now that there is NO conceivable reason to go there anymore.)
Charles Johnson of lostmygreenfoot:
What it this CJ’s knows of racist:
Taxfreekiller, former poster on lostmygreenfootball.
1/2 breed, Apache/German Jewish.
Only 1/2 breeds in the small west Texas area his family farmed and ranched.
Got sat on grades 1 to 6 for being a “breed”.
Had uncle who made it worse by a long black hair poney tail and feather in his big ass cowboy black hat.
Taxfreekillers uncle of note was married “common law to 3 African American women”.
The uncle’s family worked and lived with taxfreekillers family for years and he still
has family reunions with them in deep East Texas.
Had a great grand mother who still did the Apache religion.
Served in U.S. Navy in Laos and Cambodia and had his life saved by a African American Special Forces bud.
Ya, this Charles Johnson on his blog did by his own little green shit wipe fingers call
poster taxfreekiller a racist.
He is like that.
re: #126 by vagabond trader
Planted on a few threads!
re: #127 by Overlook
The Weasel should look like, well like a Weasel!
Bite Me Comics!
bwahahahahahah
re: #132 by taxfreekiller
Progressive lexicon
Racist: Anyone who disagrees with you.
re: #131 by wolfie
Yaaaay! Great to see you!
re: #38 by yah
If he had any real friends I suspect he’s banished them from his presence. Many of his former posters did sincerely care about the guy only to get the back of his hand. So deep is his displayed dementia (no way of knowing whether it’s real) that I suggest any real-life friend he might have left has to be afraid to broach the subject.
For my part I’d opine that the observable evidence says that he’s reached a point where only goading him to greater extremes is likely to cause a positive change.
The man appears to need help, but at the moment the only help he is open to is the sort Charlie and Eddie gave to Rick James in the muddy-shoe incident.
Eddie: We should help him.
Charlie: We just did.
re: #129 by Lincolntf
Pigs could be a reality. Or witch-doctors (male or female). Or gnomes. Just something without muscular definition or pointy boobs.
I’ll just add; He’s played the Race Card.
The last ditch tactic of a loser.
Cults are so passe.
This is perfect as is. Personally I’d like to see more lgf hangers on and wardrobe changes for kt, the little raaaaacist fashion queen.
Like that, tfk, just like that.
re: #134 by Kitteh
Something that suggests her leftist love of humanity.
Mao?
I’ve got to ready for church–y’all will be in my prayers.
Those that cannot debate, ban.
re: #144 by newsjunkie_ky
Try the new BAN!
Strong enough for a man, but made by a woman.
re: #137 by Crusader Rabbit
I never heard of Rick James – just googled – is he worth watching?
re: #144 by newsjunkie_ky
Those who win the debate, those who speak truth and those who will not tow the party line, ban.
re: #142 by Overlook
Yeah, or maybe like those lizard things in the series V. Humans on the outside, reptiles on the inside.
re: #147 by davehm
I was speaking of cj, he cannot debate, therefore, he bans.
re: #147 by davehm
Imagine lgf without the comments.
Would it compete with Powerline? (which has just stopped taking comments).
Would anyone visit it to get JOhnson’s take on recent events? His insights? His analysis?
His humour? (Has he even done a Palestinian car swarm or equivalent recently?)
re: #150 by Overlook
Getting CJ’s view on anything is as easy as reading an AP article or watching an MSNBC broadcast. He adds nothing.
re: #147 by davehm
That would be no.
And no, no, and no.
Then no, and I don’t know because I don’t go there because anymore because of the above no’s.
re: #151 by Lincolntf
Quite.
His search for right wing “crazy” has taken on something of the Satanist child-abuse hysteria of the 1980s.
And that is the narrow political space he has marked out for himself and now bustles in.
Bite Me is posted at Ace’s.
Chucky: Don Soros. I need a man who has powerful friends. I need a billion dollars in cash. I need, Don Soros, all of those politicians that you carry around in your pocket, like so many nickels and dimes.
Soros:What is the interest for my family
Chucky: Thirty percent. In the first year your end should be three, four billion dollars. And then it would go up.
Soros:And what is the interest for the Moulitsas family?
Chucky: I’ll take care of the Moulitsas, out of my share
Soros: So, I am to receive thirty percent for finance, for legal protection and political influence. Is that what you’re telling me?
Chucky:That’s right.
Soros: Why come to me? What have I done to deserve such generosity?
re: #152 by yah
Yes.
Just did a scope of lgf’s .00001, did not think there worse mean ass posters than Cato the Elderberry, yet CJ and lgf’s .0001 has dug into the sewer of loon kos kid kult types and has found a mother f’n load of them.
Do not know if I have to stomach to log on to that low cur dog blog any longer, its got the “kuddies” now for sure.
re: #146 by yah
The thing you want to see is the bit about him from the Chappelle show.
Charlie Murphy is an amusing story-teller.
re: #154 by yah
With a H/T to Pink Freud. I thought those at the CC were all about not bashing cj and lgf.
A week ago, it was all Beck, all the time. Now it’s all Limbaugh, all the time.
Obsessive bunch with a short attention span, no?
re: #160 by snork
So many racists, so little time.
re: #160 by snork
All the Lefty dopes are focused on bitching about one Conservative or another. The alternative is to discuss the current failures (and projected disasters) of the Obama Administration. That ain’t gonna happen.
If ever the Libtards needed a bogeyman to distract the masses, it’s now.
re: #160 by snork
That’s because he is very limited leftist trying to make inroads into Daily Kos territory.
re: #162 by Lincolntf
You’re right. God forbid they talk about the bumbling policies of our Socialist -in-chief. More important to talk abut obscure Kansas school boards.
re: #49 by Bite Me! Comics
Absolutely marvelous! Too bad my only claim to fame is having been on that satanic prayer list.
re: #157 by taxfreekiller
I predict that Cato the Elder will be here under that name or another soon.
He will feel that his genius is not being sufficiently appreciated there, and he does not like the scolding he gets from Johnson from time to time.
He is being pushed into the Sarah Palin corner, and is having to post about more and more of his private life (if we can believe it) in order just to keep going there.
His contrarian curmudgeon shtick is beginning to lose its appeal.
NEWSFLASH!!!
Charles Johnson’s picture now appears in the Unabridged Webster’s Dictionary next to the entries:
Self Parody
Height of Irony
Dementia
Schizophrenic Paranoia
Bi Polar Disorder
Own worst enemy
Nervous Breakdown
Feel free to add to the list.
re: #154 by yah
That is terrific news!
re: #159 by newsjunkie_ky
The comic is iresisstable!
re: #166 by Overlook
Cato is a self-absobed hateful bastard whose singular talent is annoyance.
re: #158 by Crusader Rabbit
Thanks, will do.
“It’s not me, it’s those other 1500 racists who have changed.”
re: #170 by MacDuff

i have an intense dislike for that clown.
re: #170 by MacDuff
True. And he can annoy here as well as, if not better than, there.
If they prick us, do we not bleed?
re: #165 by Empire1
Best laugh of the day!
re: #173 by coldwarrior
You and I should be on the reception committee!
re: #174 by Overlook
given the garbage cato has spewed at some of the members here, i would be very surprised if he were ‘warmly welcomed’.
re: #176 by Overlook
oh my! the mods would never go for that, we would be way to difficult!
re: #170 by MacDuff
He is a fat woman hating piece of shite!
I just noticed that Zombi in listed on “the Book of the Banned.”
http://kirls.blogspot.com/2009/05/banned-monium.html
re: #172 by Rightside
I wonder what it says about the remaining posters at LGF that they spent years freely chatting with (now banned) known racists without realizing it? If they were so comfortable chatting with racists for so long, does that not make them racists themselves, or at least racist sympathizers?
I wonder what would happen if Charlie told his minions that the banned were all space aliens. How many would truly believe him? At least half.
re: #177 by coldwarrior
Yes, but it would be easier to exchange garbage if he were here.
An eye for an eye, tooth for tooth, garbage for garbage.
re: #180 by yah
yep, that was a big event a few weeks ago.
re: #179 by Speranza
Is he fat, or does he hate fat women?
re: #165 by Empire1
Et Tu Empire?
re: #58 by Bite Me! Comics
Standing ovation sound effect here.
Bravo/brava Bite Me Comics
re: #181 by Lincolntf
His reasoning would be we were all closet racists, and suddenly, Glenn Beck said the magic word, and we all came out, so to speak.
re: #182 by Overlook
why? i dont see a need for that
re: #184 by Overlook
both
You guys are sick……but in a good kind of way.
re: #181 by Lincolntf
Well if you follow cj’s line of reasoning, since he let all us racists post on his blog, he and all his lizards are racists.
This is up at Johnny $’s place, I urge everyone to view this clip
Now, here we have an example of a liberal attacking a liberal and being blatantly racist. Juan Williams is a liberal, but even he seemed taken aback by the “get back on the porch” comment.
How long til this ends up as a new post at 1.0?
Oh, wait. That’s right. All the racists are on the right only.
So what, anita dunn is a fan of mao tse-tung, his philosophy had some really good pinochle tips.

There is always a need for proportionality. Better than an eye for a tooth, or banning for garbage…
re: #103 by DEZ
And Ted Kennedy has now been sober for 7 wks and 4 days. CONGRATULATIONS TED!!!
Is that Catos dog groveling at Race Detectives feet on the first page?

Real authoritative source you gotz there, Queegz.
re: #191 by Rightside
It is always acceptable for the left to insult blacks who betray the left. They lose their blackness, and hence their immunity to accusations of racism.
re: #191 by Rightside
Chaz could white wash Vann Jones, Anita Dunn etc. but Beck is the ignorant evil one in his twisted left wing mind. Loosen up that pony tail Chaz, it is cutting off the blood from your brain.
re: #185 by vagabond trader
Yup. Surprised me … I thought nobody there even noticed me!
re: #197 by Speranza
Hey cut the poor creature some slack, look what he has to live with and service.
re: #193 by Overlook
if he brought that 1.0 act over here, he wouldn’t last too long, proportionality or not…
one of his anti-palin memes would result in a pile on.
re: #167 by jakee308
I forgot to add:
Karma’s a bitch
Compared with the now mutated LGF “democratic underground” is a trustworthy, high ethical, reasonable and conservative blog
This is either an experiment like in the novel “The Wave” or the blog-owner of LGF needs professional help. He argues completely irrational and contradicts himself all the time.
His “evidences” now come from the bottom of the deck from leftwing extremists mostly without a shred of truth and his behavior as blog-owner is hmm, singular
. I suppose this is the only blog in the www with a commentary function which does not allow to disagree with the blog-owner.
Everyone who has left a spark of decency should leave the blog without looking back. The blog is a disgrace in the www.
re: #174 by Overlook
I for one, do not look forward to some of them coming here. It is a relief to be away from them.
re: #201 by Empire1
we made the prayer list!
its like an award!
re: #201 by Empire1
All who post at 2.0 are noted by the stalker blog stalkers.
re: #196 by Speranza
I implore you! Think of his Russian and Greek epigrams. HIs allusions to obscure German works. His exciting stories of moving.
Soften your heart.
re: #202 by vagabond trader
Yeah poor Haku! I always saw him as one of those dirty old men who wear raincoats and flash kids. The shit he said about Trig Palin is beyond disgusting.
re: #206 by yah
agreed
re: #209 by Overlook
Yeah he is a real renaissance man isn’t he? A real Jethro Bodine!
re: #206 by yah
agreed, because there cant be too many more that are there that are still fighting the good fight…
anyone have any examples? i havent been over there in a month or so.
He’s now a self-made parody. The butt of the internet joke. Reduced to a comic strip character.
re: #210 by Speranza
Really, someone who requires a service dog should not be throwing stones.
Before I ever got banned I thought sooner or later I would be and swore I would never pile on Charles the way everyone else was. Easier said than done I must admit. Bwaa ha ha!
re: #206 by yah
re: #211 by coldwarrior
And Speranza probably makes three.
OK. No fat Cato, then.
re: #216 by Rancher
it is fun and cathartic!
anyway, he deserves it.
re: #216 by Rancher
Puhleeze him and his losers are such a target rich environnmet.
re: #217 by Overlook
ok, i’ll ask…why are you soooo concerned about that shitbag cato?
re: #216 by Rancher
As recounted previously, about a month ago I expressed some pity for him. Within HOURS, blam, the Irish Rose had us shut down on a specious complaint to the server. Pity went poof!!
re: #123 by wolfie
Wolfie, I missed you. The erudite crowd is reforming over here at last!
re: #216 by Rancher
He deserves all of it, for the way he treated the people who brought him from a nothing blog to one of the top reads online.
Now he can known as someone who let 1500+ racists post all over his blog for years.
Hey Dick!
re: #213 by coldwarrior
“agreed, because there cant be too many more that are there that are still fighting the good fight…
anyone have any examples? i havent been over there in a month or so.”
I guess Ben Hur, MandyManners and some of the center-left liberals such as Fenway_Natin (last night). Ocasionally Walter L. Newton tacks Right but mostly newbies (probably a lot of socks) take the conservative line. The newbies (snakedoctor last night) get banned real quick,
re: #222 by Moe Katz
hey, i’m not reformed!
re: #224 by Speranza
sure…i should have said that newbies dont count.
its bad when the old school can get counted on one hand
re: #221 by vagabond trader
“As recounted previously, about a month ago I expressed some pity for him. Within HOURS, blam, the Irish Rose had us shut down on a specious complaint to the server. Pity went poof!!”
Hey you need to be more understanding of Irish Rose as she involuntarily makes pee-pee too often in her pants.

Not to mention celibate and not behind the wheel of a car.
Hi Everyone, another former banned LGF poster here.
It took me over 8 months to find an open registration, I hadn`t written 10 posts before I was banned…
My crime, downdinging on a creation thread.
My nick there was An Ira Fan, but I joined because of the commenters, now I find most of you here!
You don`t know me, but I feel as if I know most of you and I admire you all very much.
There are many brilliant posters here!
It`s always a pleasure to read your posts!
I have been lurking here for sometime, finally felt the need to introduce myself and say hello.
Bite Me Comics…I Love You!!!
So nice to meet you all
re: #225 by coldwarrior
If I became Christian that would be my denomination. I like the Dutch cookies.
re: #220 by coldwarrior
Glad to see you recycling some of those dropped letter “o”s from the Friday Afternoon Open!
True confession: I liked Cato’s rudeness. Specially in contrast to the tutting-tutting about civility and the “let us talk nicely” finger wagging over there.
re: #216 by Rancher
I never had any intention to mock the poor man, either. But within a few weeks of my leaving someone posted a screenshot of him lying about me having some sort of “sockpuppet”. At that point I quit caring about appearances. You can’t let a man with a megaphone lie about you, even on the internet.
re: #229 by Lolly Gator
Welcome! Feel free to join in the light hearted mockery!
re: #226 by coldwarrior
lawhawk never engages on Beck or creationism, he just gives historical and political perspective on things. I cannot imagine him being thrilled at the turn of events there.
re: #229 by Lolly Gator
You are most heartily welcomed! Enjoy the freedom!!!
re: #229 by Lolly Gator
welcome aboard ‘gator!
re: #217 by Overlook
I’m not going to worry about it too much though. They wouldn’t be comfortable here because we are all not INSANE enough for them.
re: #224 by Speranza
What about Haakondahl? I ask from time to time. He was sharp.
re: #234 by Speranza
ya might want to ask wrath about lawhawk…there is a problem.
re: #229 by Lolly Gator
Welcome aboard, Lolly. Grab a seat and get comfy.
I think it’s all about money. Since the software business, like most others, is slow CJ wants the money that comes with the left wing blog traffic. (i.e. Huffpo) The right side can’t provide that because the standard of comment on the left is drenched in ‘Racists and Nazis’.
He’ll end up like a DU cuz even Ariana lets the commenters cuss each other out..
Thanks for the welcome…
feels like home here!
re: #231 by Overlook
that’s cool. rudeness for the sake of being rude doesn’t do it for me…but if that’s your thing, ok.
Welcome Lolly Gator
re: #242 by Lolly Gator
Like the nic, makes me smile.
re: #38 by yah
Problem is, he’d just ban anybody who dared suggest that.
re: #242 by Lolly Gator
This can be your home if you want it. Think of it as LGF before the owner had his meltdown. We have a lot of fun here and we don’;t always rip on the nutjob and his loony minions. You do nto need to walk on eggshells here either.
re: #229 by Lolly Gator
Welcome! You’re actually lucky you didn’t waste too much time at the old place.
1.0 does a great job at destroying itself, it`s like watching an endless train wreck.
It now makes me sick!
Thanks again for the welcome…
I`m so happy to have finally joined!
re: #238 by Overlook
I have not seen Haakandahl in afe weeks, Who knows – maybe he self banned.
re: #247 by Speranza
well, you can walk on eggshells if you want…but then your shoes get real sticky.
re: #229 by Lolly Gator
Hi Lolly! 10 posts and out? That indicates that you have your mind right! You’ll fit right in.
Welcome aboard.
re: #242 by Lolly Gator
Wait a minute…
Are you, or have you ever been a creationist? Could you pick out luap nor out of a lineup? Ever been associated with the Kansas or Texas school boards? Ever posted at any other blog than this one?
.
.
.
.
.
.
LOL Just kidding!
re: #249 by Lolly Gator
You should have joined earlier. You missed out on some fun threads but again, welcome.
re: #251 by coldwarrior
Especially if you’re barefoot.
re: #243 by coldwarrior
How rude! I never said I liked rudeness for its own sake, but for the sake of Goody Two Shoes. And that is just one of my many, many things.
re: #239 by coldwarrior
lawhawk and I used to email each other, he will never leave LGF.
re: #241 by Kilty Larkin
The numbers don’t back that up. Traffic there is slowly dwindling. Traffic here, OTOH, is a hockey-stick curve.
re: #250 by Speranza
I am glad, once again, that you monitor that place for us.
Any craziness today?
now that is satire, if any of the posters over there read that comic and fail to question the reason they remain at that mad house, well they are beyond help.
re: #232 by Lincolntf
I have paid no attention to what has been said since my departure, really dont care.
But I watched in befuddlement as long time and highly respected posters were mocked, demonized and banned for petty reasons,
I came to the point that I knew when chuckles was lying.
He was posting.
Of course it’s not my blog but I wouldn’t mind if every banned lizard was allowed to post here, at least until they became really vile, the type that Charles used to ban. I like lively sites where everyone doesn’t necessarily agree with everyone else instead of a monolithic sycophantic site where no one wants to upset the ideologue master.
re: #260 by Nevergiveup
Read the comics at the top, Doc. Make sure you are not having an adult beverage though, not responsible for ruined monitors from spraying liquid out your nose.
re: #256 by Overlook
ok
re: #258 by snork
This place will really take off when it gets a facelift, IMHO. The gang keeps growing and good people keep coming in, but a nicer interface would make a world of difference.
I`m thrilled with 2.0, if it drives Chucky nuts….I for one am pleased.
He looks over here and sees the fun his blog used to be, only this is soo much better, the
teacher`s not looking over your shoulder here with the yardstick waiting to bat you because he didn`t like the answer
re: #229 by Lolly Gator
Now you can say “been there, done that” and move on to a better place.
re: #263 by Rancher
Most of them have been here!
Here v.s. here.
re: #263 by Rancher
Of course it’s not my blog but I wouldn’t mind if every banned lizard was allowed to post here, at least until they became really vile, the type that Charles used to ban. Well, that’s pretty much how it is over here, isn’t it?
re: #257 by Speranza
But you never know when lgf will leave him.
re: #257 by Speranza
Lawhawk may not flounce but he may be bounced.
re: #241 by Kilty Larkin
You mean….he’s like….Kos’ bitch?
re: #271 by Moe Katz
Lively yes.
re: #266 by Moe Katz
More tools would be nice, but I was poking around in my profile, and you can download “gears”, which caches a lot of stuff, and makes this site a lot snappier. If it’s a bit slow now, I’d recommend that.
Did someone say my name?
the people left over there must feel like complete idiots or maybe the special chosen few.
whatever its dork land.
re: #263 by Rancher
My beamish nic! My sentiments exactly. Open wide the gates. Let the kings of glory and ignominy enter.
re: #271 by Moe Katz
there was a banning…but it was for outright lying and the posts were in poor taste.
re: #272 by yah
Thats it in a nutshell, Chuckles has no loyalty to anyone or thing outside his own selfish bubble.
re: #277 by loppyd
{loppyd}
We’ve missed you! HI! It is so good to see you!
re: #277 by loppyd
Whoa!I just clicked over to your place. Welcome!
hey loopyd

% of LGF unique visitors from South Korea:
Quantcast says 0.12%
Alexa says 12.4%
re: #277 by loppyd
loppyd!
re: #287 by Rightside
Hey there!
Loppy!!!!!11
[frmrly e2m]
re: #280 by coldwarrior
One banning here. And in that period of time, how many at 1.0? 1,500?
re: #289 by snork
Hi Snork!
Love that nic.
so chas is getting oral sex from the poster called ice weazel, no surprise there,
what i read it in black and white on the web its up to you to disprove it.
re: #286 by Moe Katz
I’m sure those numbers are quite crude, but accuracy is so 20th century…
What is all this then?
Now that’s some funny stuff. Do we know who Bite Me is yet?
re: #277 by loppyd
Hey loppyd
re: #294 by song_and_dance_man
Only that the he/she is registered here.
Hey coldwarrior? Are you freezing your ass of here in our neck of the woods?
re: #290 by Moe Katz
it may have been 2…i dont remember.
i do know the one was deserved.
re: #293 by snork
The Alexa figure, 12.4% of unique visitors from South Korea, is a bit ludicrous. Does he think he fools all of the people all of the time?
re: #296 by vagabond trader
Well that is very cool and I’m glad about that.
re: #297 by NoThreat2U
nope…but i am running the heaters!
i hate 38F and rain
re: #298 by coldwarrior
The important thing: no one banned for deviating from Chairman Charles’s Thought.
There are initials at the lower right corner of the comic cover. A hint?
re: #303 by vagabond trader
er, make that lower left.
re: #302 by Moe Katz
the banning was about lies about knowing people that died in wtc on 9/11
re: #301 by coldwarrior
We went around the jersy barriers to Walmart in Monaca last night and our BRONCO! slid. Then my brother was here telling me that he hit a little old lady and totalled his truck in the same place! Bad road conditions around here. Be careful out on the road ; )
re: #295 by song_and_dance_man
Hey Song!
Fancy meeting you here.
re: #306 by NoThreat2U
i hate that road, and i am on it way too much.
re: #290 by Moe Katz
It’s actually 2 here.
You know what is really amazing is how ND is crushing USC. Yeah that would be freaken amazing since Charlie Weiss sucks and USC is kicking their ass 27-14 in the 3rd. The Gipa must be crying
re: #304 by vagabond trader
Well, yeah. Cuz “Bite Me” would be BM.
re: #307 by loppyd
Hey, good to see you here!
re: #270 by snork
Real interesting – blogmoracy traffic is about equal to lgf’s. If you take away all the traffic driven by links to watch the train wreck at lgf, we are way ahead of them.
re: #307 by loppyd
Yeah, I’ve been here since the beginning hanging out with all the other ’stalkers’.
re: #311 by snork
Looks like GM from here.
re: #313 by yah
Kinda like watching Notre Dame play football?
re: #312 by MacDuff
Likewise, MacDuff (the crime dawg)
re: #309 by song_and_dance_man
what was the second?
re: #305 by coldwarrior
That’s sort of pathetic, really.
re: #266 by Moe Katz
I agree, as long as it’s “clean” enough to load with reasonable speed. Even if I had broadband, I’d prefer an uncluttered screen and no flashy (read distracting) graphics.
re: #313 by yah
Yeah, I was just looking at that over at Quantcast. Did you notice our phenomenal growth. For a whole year there were not that many of us, but in the past six months this place has exploded and there is no sign that trend is going to stop.
Mubarak: ‘Israel attempts to assimilate Jerusalem’
Published: 10.17.09, 23:58 / Israel News
Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak condemned Israel’s attempts to “assimilate Jerusalem into its territory” through continuous construction around the capital city.
Mubarak spoke during a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, adding that the issue does not only concern the Palestinian Authority, but the “entire Muslim world”. (AFP)
Ain’t no assimilation to it. It’s ours. Get over it.

What do you think will be the angle the New York Times Mag takes on Johnson?
Popularity?
Opinion-making?
Or – BLOG WARS. The interesting stuff.
re: #314 by song_and_dance_man
Stalkers smockers, were just

re: #314 by song_and_dance_man
what about the haters?
re: #313 by yah
The other indicator is their overnight threads. They’re like that New Year’s party at Mr. Bean’s, where they’re just sitting around looking at each other.
re: #318 by coldwarrior
Well it depends on who you were referring to. Avid and Champion. And there are some who have left on there own.
Damn, this thread is running fast. I might have to go to that other blog where posts are at a much more sedate rate. Heh™
re: #323 by Overlook
Probably cancel the gig to interview the balloon family.
re: #323 by Overlook
Of the ever valiant, smart, wordly, intellectual quasi conservative that came to his senses and returned to his true roots. Progressives of the world unite. Today American, tomorrow the world, my leader!

I have a feeling they’re going to throw him under the bus, where he may be thinking, finally I’m going to recognized by kindred spirits in the MSM.
re: #331 by song_and_dance_man

Go Purdue!
re: #327 by song_and_dance_man

re: #335 by song_and_dance_man
Roger dat! And we have a sense of humor that drives the PC crowd crazy. Oh and the gun threads, don’t forget the gun threads.
Kerry Says It’s Too Soon to Send More Troops to Afghanistan
In taped remarks to air Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Sen. John Kerry said it would be misguided to have a troop buildup to achieve a mission of “good governance” when the election is not yet finished.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/10/17/kerry-says-soon-send-troops-afghanistan/
Well we know this is not his idea, that Obama is feeding him the talking points. The only original thought Kerry ever had was to look at some rich ugly broad and think ” Gee I wonder how much Gold I can dig here”?
re: #325 by loppyd
Well yeah, them too. Funny how we are labeled as such just because we are aghast at the transition of others over that sharp left turn they took on the information highway.

There’s a thread here today: the Finns are going to give all citizens broadband access as a basic entitlement.
re: #328 by Iron Fist
Reminds me of that “other place” in the good old days. Smile.
re: #340 by Sparky
You maybe right, For myself, I will take the wait and see approach, Chuckles spent a lot of time knifing the NYT.
They may just remember that.
While they were going asfter the Great Race Detective, they should have hit KKKilgore Torut as the leading example of racism. Showing the would-be (accused) racists how it is really done. An d then saying that, well, in heavy traffic times between 3-4 AM you should be watching out for awful racists like him, so you are the real racist for not stopping him. Yes, KKKilgore is one for the record books.
re: #258 by snork

re: #343 by loppyd
Well that’s a real possibility with this administration. They might cut the funding for Air Transport and the troops might have to walk home?
re: #334 by coldwarrior
It was about the time when the blog moved from it’s old domain to the new. I have no desire to rehash the details.
Anyone ever hear from Reaganite? Nam Grunt?

False harmonics? You have false sock puppets, and false harmonics, too?
[What's the difference between a true and a false harmonic, Herr Doktor?]

I’ve been called worse.
Seriously, the place is a cesspool of crazy and I consider being banned a badge of honor.
I am truly ashamed I stayed as long as I did.

I’m all married off now.

YOU!
re: #354 by snork
False harmonics are really resonances that are not on the speaking length (the proper vibrating length) of the string. You can get them above the nut and also behind the saddle, especially on a tailpiece guitar like a jazz archtop.

re: #337 by Lolly Gator
It wouldn’t have mattered. I wrote a polite post, giving the SOB more than he deserved.
The result? Immediate dismissal and everything I ever wrote relegated to the ether. He has no time or patience for anything but agreement and all of the class and loyalty of…..well, a lizard.
Should any of us expected more? No, probably not.

We have to have him here. They will not appreciate his washing his dirty laundry as much as we (I) do.

Yeah, they’ve been discussing positions for urination for some time now.
Gee, has Charles weighed in on this subject? I’m sure that they are waiting with baited breath for his opinion.
I’m sure that Sharm and Weasel would pee standing on there head should Charles decree it.

Yep, I’m on broadband, and I saw that thread. I’d love broadband, but can’t justify paying three times the dial-up price — and moving to Finland, I fear, would be even more costly. Besides which, I don’t speak Finn (Finnish? Suomi?).

Hi pianobuff. One thing we need more of here is music threads or subthreads, as we had at one time at the Hotel Charliefornia.
re: #415 by song_and_dance_man
I don’t know if mine are gone – never checked.
My banning was silent…people over there opined it was because I had a meltdown when defending goddess. A comment of mine was deleted on 6/11 but I wasn’t banned until 6/18. I started my own blog on 6/16 and didn’t add the gulag to my blogroll.

I’m busy hoping, too! The edit’s the one I miss most, especially when I spot a stupid error just as I hit the posting button. Though I must admit a nice link button would help — that’s the only command I have to look up every time I want to use it.

In that case, for all of you Ohio State fans I offer my condolences. Would have been rich to have undefeated Big Ten teams vying for the title towards the end of the season. Not to say that Iowa won’t lose — hell, they could just as easily be 3-4 this year. Still it should be a great matchup and as a fan of the team usually on the losing end… I hope we snuff your butts this time.

I am indeed. Been playing guitar for over 30 years and along the way learned the drums and keys and bass (which is no big deal being an axeman).
Here is a song I wrote and recorded about 7 years ago during a stint as music director for a good sized church in So Cal in a first attempt at home recording.

Yeah Carlos, Page, Iommi and Blackmore were my influences. Everything you heard was just me. On that song I used my Ibanez s-470 to get the dive bombs at the end and a Fender precision. The rest of the instruments were sequenced. And of course I overdubbed the vocals.
I just rebuilt my home studio after 5 years of it laying dormant and am working on new music within other styles of music.
Do you have any links to some of your stuff?

re: #558 by goddessoftheclassroom
It is strange how many in Christendom try to twist that portion of scripture to align it with their ill-conceived notion of just what was in those wedding jars. And then we have the admonition of Paul to Timothy about wine. And of course there are the other many words that were spoken before them about the healing effect of wine. The point made in all those citations is moderation. Paul said, all things are lawful to me, but I will not come under their power. (paraphrase, of course)

re: #560 by Josephine
When I uploaded those songs (which I think are not that good in relation to my many other recordings) I was posting at babbazee’s site.
There was at the time an ongoing shtick about babba being an unhinged lunatic. And the feral thing was a branch of that. We began to call ourselves the feral or FULA. Feral Unhinged Lunatic Army.

Funny – I’ve always thought that the assumption that the wines being discussed in these verses was fermented (the term oinos can refer to any “fruit of the grape”) was an exercise in self-justification….

re: #600 by song_and_dance_man
I wasn’t at that wedding, even though from my age many would assume that. You as well as I know the arguments about the contention. Should we rehash them now to come to an impasse?
I don’t advocate drunkenness but if one reads deeply we are to enjoy the creation and all it offers.
I’m simply saying this – people often come to the wedding passage, and the “drink a little wine for thy stomach’s sake” passage, and automatically assume that this wine was alcoholic, and therefore drinking is justified. Their arguments are bad, and fail to take logic, context, and history into account. That’s why I call them “self-justification.” Certainly in the case of Paul’s advice to Timothy, the wine wasn’t alcoholic for the simple reason that fermented wine contains elevated levels of acetic acid would not soothe a stomach ailment of any kind.
I also hear the argument that Jesus used wine at the Lord’s Supper. In this particular case, the argument that this wine was alcoholic is actually blasphemy, since it overturns the whole symbolic picture Christ was giving of Himself. The unleavened bread symbolised the purity of His body. Why then would he use fermented wine, which has leaven (yeast fermentation) to picture His blood, thereby suggesting that His blood is impure? Makes no sense, but is never considered by those looking to justify themselves.
The argument about enjoying all things in creation is ridiculous. I suppose the Christian can apply it equally to cocaine or peyote? Maybe a little bong hit for Jesus every now and again isn’t so bad?
You’re right – I have no interest in going round and round rehashing the arguments, if for no other reason than I plan on going to bed pretty soon. I would simply note that if someone wants to drink, that’s their business and they’ll have to take it up with God, not me. However, the Bible does not provide them the justification that they think it does, if they’d actually look at the issue in its full and complete theological context.

The guests ate cana were already drunk by the time Jesus did his bar-tending act. The word used was methusko, which translates as “well drunk”, and is very rarely used to mean anything other than intoxicated.
Oinos has ambiguous meaning but it is most commonly used to mean fermented wine. It can mean “grape juice” and other things but a non-native greek speaker such as the writers of the gospels would use it to mean wine simply because they had no understanding of the idiomatic nuances of the word amongst native speakers.
The argument that we aren’t supposed to enjoy alcohol bears little weight when you consider the strong and continual references to wine throughout scripture. There is no “self justification” involved. God justifies it in his word.
As an aside I’ve seen others here call alcohol yeast pizzle, but then by that measure we shouldn’t eat cheese either, nor eat meat that hasn’t been freshly shot and butchered from the carcass. Cheese is in essence rotted milk. Meat is usually hung for a few days so that it will tenderise, whereby it undergoes a process of what is essentially mild decomposition by bacteria.
Alcohol in moderation is beneficial to the human body. God does not deny us anything that is beneficial, but only desires that we disallow things to ourselves if we feel they will lead us into sin. All things are allowed, but not al things are beneficial, Paul says. Alcohol is beneficial so long as we consume it in moderation and not to excess. Alcoholism is not beneficial and is a good reason to stop, but to say that none should drink because some might become alcoholics is, I submit, going against the order of God.

Until the mid 17th century wine and beer and mead were consumed as a necessity rather than a luxury. Grape juice was the luxury. You know why? Drinking untreated water was a risky business. Wine – fermentation – was invented as a means of sterilising water. Alcohol was used as a purification agent. It still is in some cultures.
Alcohol purifies things. You want to call something that purifies water and makes it safe to drink corruption? You want to tell me that the tool provided by God to ensure our water was safe to drink is wrong?

Well, the postie monster ate the comment that I had written out, and I’m not going to waste the time rewriting the whole thing. Needless to say, I think your position is founded upon a poor hermeneutical approach to the scriptures, and could stand a little more deep investigation than the superficial approach typically used to justify wine-bibbing by Christians.
I would simply suggest that you do a little research about the “royal priesthood” concept attributed to Christians in I Peter 2, and consider it in the context of the Hebrew Scriptures’ contention that wine is not for kings, and priests could actually receive the death penalty for drinking alcohol or strong drink before ministering, and look at that in light of the fact that Christians are always “on duty.”
Drinking wine won’t send a person to hell, but for the Christian, drinking wine IS “falling down on the job.” The choice is between pleasing God and pleasing self.

What I and others like me don’t appreciate is the supercilious attitude that you seem to have picked up along with it, the sneering tone that seems to come through with your cracks about “Self justification”.
I call it like I see it. Your argument is based on a superficial approach to the Scripture on this subject. It’s basically “the Bible talks about wine, so that means it’s a-okay!” and doesn’t take into account that in pretty much every case where one of the words translated as “wine” is used in a “neutral” or “positive” way, there is nothing whatsoever that demands the wine is alcohol. Alcohol is implicitly “read in” where context doesn’t necessarily say that it is. On the other hand, when the Scripture refers to wine negatively, there is almost always some sort of context that clues us in that alcohol is in view, such as parallelism with “strong drink” or an obvious reference to drunkenness. Indeed unmixed, alcoholic wine is the picture in view when the “wine of God’s wrath” is discussed.
Ignoring all that and taking simple mention of wine – acontextually – as proof that God wants us to drink alcohol is self-justification, it is taking Scripture out of context to provide justification for an activity we want to engage in.
Alcohol purifies things. You want to call something that purifies water and makes it safe to drink corruption? You want to tell me that the tool provided by God to ensure our water was safe to drink is wrong?
See, again, this argument completely ignore the actual spiritual picture being presented by Christ at the Lord’s Supper. Do I want to say that alcohol in wine, existing as it does through the action of yeast – leaven – is impure? You bet I do. Why? Because the Scripture over and over and over again uses leaven as a picture of corruption and sin. THAT’S the imagery the Scripture uses leaven to describe. What people did in the 17th century really does not matter for a hill of beans in this context. Jesus used the unleavened bread to depict His perfect, sinless body. It is simply asinine to suggest that He used “leavened wine” to depict His perfect, sinless blood which was to be shed to atone for the sins of the world. The impure cannot atone for impurity. Only the pure can atone for impurity. The suggestion that He used alcoholic, leavened wine at the Lord’s Supper overturns that entire purpose and importance of what Jesus was trying to get across to His disciples in that act. Even if you want to point to other portions of Scripture to justify alcohol, THIS portion simply cannot be used.

re: #558 by goddessoftheclassroom
Yep, nothing against wine or alcohol. Only sins related to alcohol are over-indulgence, drunkenness and debauchery.
In addition to the first miracle, the advice of Paul to Timothy “a little wine for thy stomach’s sake”, the fact that the Lord’s Supper consists of bread and wine, and numerous cites in the Old Testament.
In general, I don’t drink. Not because I can’t, but because I choose not to. Have never really enjoyed it, I get just as much pleasure out of a nice good glass of cold iced tea. Have had a few good glasses of wine — some really dark red a few years ago, wish I could remember the name — that was quite good.

As Paul said, and it is a given he was referring to food and not drink (well we can’t be sure until we can ask him about it), To the pure everything is pure; but to the polluted and unbelieving nothing is pure, but on the contrary their very minds and consciences are polluted.
The context to Titus 1:16 suggests Paul was talking about false teachings and the works that are associated with true vs. false doctrine.
What’s funny is that my arguing this issue on here isn’t even really about alcohol, per se. I don’t drink, but if somebody else does, I don’t look down on them or consider myself better than them. I realise that others will hold to different standards, and I figure that it’s between them and God.
Why I argue is because I think the arguments used from the Bible in support of it are weak, superficial, and do the Scripture an injustice. Especially this notion that alcoholic wine was used in the Lord’s Supper. That right there undermines the picture that Jesus was trying to get across to His disciples as to His whole purpose for coming in the first place. It’s not about alcohol, it’s about undermining the very object of faith of the Christian religion.

Hardly. Even in the context of the account, the steward called the bridegroom and commented on him holding the best wine to the last when most used the good wine first, then after the guests had too much to drink, brought out the poorer wine. It would be quite difficult to interpret that as being a reference to other than fermented drink. Also, other accounts of Christ’s teaching such as “new wine in new skins” and “old wine in old skins” also are reference to fermented fruit of the vine. The fact is that in the Middle East in that era, there would be no other way to preserve the juice from the fruit of the vine except by fermentation.

re: #672 by BenZacharia
gain not observing Passover in the prescribed manner is a sin, period, end of sentence, full stop. I’m assuming you are saying he committed sin?
Quite the opposite, actually. Jesus was a Nazarene, not a Nazarite, so the prohibition against any grape product doesn’t apply to Him. My point is that the use of alcoholic wine in the Lord’s Supper – which is what some folks suggest so as to provide the justification for alcohol use – runs flat contrary to the imagery Jesus Himself was picturing for His disciples. Unleavened bread = perfect and sinless body, to be broken for them. Suddenly, then, He’s going to use “leavened wine” to picture the sinless blood that would atone for their sins?
On logical grounds alone, it fails.
It has been posited that Dan rather is the one actually posting at zilch.

We have to look at more than just where the words are used, but how, and in what context, they are used.
I have had some discussions with my sister about whether the wine was fermented or not. She is in the unfermented type, I the other type. What I found interesting was my learning about vinegar. Vinegar is basically wine that is fermented again, its been called sour wine in past history.
My point being they had to first have wine before they could make vinegar and we know full well they had vinegar.

Paul was speaking about idolatry, and excess of drink is just that. Using a created thing to take the place of God.

And believe me brother, and I mean that in the strictest sense, because we recognize each other, there is no avocation on my part to encourage what may be an issue with some as something unseemly as a partner in truth.
I hold my view primarily because of my understanding of I Peter 2:9, viewed through the lens of what the Hebrew scriptures say about wine vis-a-vis priests and kings. That’s where I’m coming from on this issue – though a lot of people seem to tense up whenever they hear an argument against drinking because they think it’s based off of “thinking I’m better than them” or whatnot. Shoot, I’ve actually had people get mad because I told them, after they asked, that I don’t drink – didn’t even make a statement for or against, one way or the other.
I don’t, however, think I’m better than anyone else, since that would overturn the whole point to grace.
It’s obvious this is a touchy subject for some folks, so I’ll let it drop, since there’s really no point to creating a lot of dissention in the Blogmocracy.
Want to know what’s ironic? I actually used to make homemade wine for myself and others when I was in college. As a chemist, I was very popular in certain circles because I could make a decent red wine from Welch’s grape juice. If there’s anyone on here who knows about the fermentation process, it’s me!
re: #692 by tqcincinnatus
That is true as well. We may differ on just what is meant by wine but allow me this. We are compelled to work out our own salvation, and to me that means we are responsible to work towards doing all we can to make that happen. Simple words, I know, but the underlying factor on how it impacts others should be considered.
Once again I will side with you. If we as believers engage in things that to us are lawful and within that freedom hurt others in offense with less faith, then it is wrong and should be corrected.
I may be of the opinion that imbibing is OK, still it may not be the greatest example for any who may come to believe that have a real problem with it. And that is the real message of Love you neighbor as yourself, or maybe your neighbors son who has a problem with alcohol.
I get the message, but not the facts of wine in your citings. But that is OK, the message bears out the facts.
And let me add to that. The message of not hurting your neighbor by action is the most important thing we can do while serving God. So in that sense I’m in total agreement with abstaination.
Some things are better left unsaid. The new old lesson for today.
re: #697 by song_and_dance_man

re: #677 by tqcincinnatus
Surely the question of whether “wine” was drunk or “grape juice” is settled by reference to the the relevant Greek or Hebrew texts.
The idea that “leaven” means impurity needs further authority. The Passover unleavened bread recalls the bread hastily prepared by the Israelites when there was no time for proving the dough.
And why should fermentation be analagous to leaven?
Alcohol was sacred in many ancient cultures. It is the “spirit” that gave enthusiasm – filled the drinker with the divine.
Buzzsawmonkey, we need you.
re: #700 by Overlook
The idea that “leaven” means impurity needs further authority. The Passover unleavened bread recalls the bread hastily prepared by the Israelites when there was no time for proving the dough.
The idea of leaven as a picture of impurity (not the same as it “means” that) is developed in the NT – Matthew 16:12, Galatians 5:9, and especially I Corinthians 5:6-7. In the Law (e.g. Exodus 12:15), the fact that eating leavened bread during the Passover and the week that would later be known as the feast of unleavened bread (which would not be involved in the “hasty retreat” argument) received the penalty of being “cut off” from Israel just like serious moral and ceremonial sins, suggests that this leaven represented some picture of sin, at least with respect to the symbolism intended in the Passover.
And why should fermentation be analagous to leaven?
Because they are similar processes that are both the result of the presence of yeasts. In a sense, fermentation is a liquid form of the degradatory process in leavened bread that makes it rise.
As the law applies then, Exodus 34:25 specifically proscribed the use of leaven with the blood sacrifice of the Passover – which the Lord applied to Himself as a picture of His then-coming work.
cohol was sacred in many ancient cultures. It is the “spirit” that gave enthusiasm – filled the drinker with the divine.
True…but do we really want to take pagan cultures as a model for the rituals and symbolism of God’s people?
Many ancient cultures also practiced ritual prostitution, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay.

re: #701 by tqcincinnatus
Yes, I take your point that yeast is involved in bread and wine.
And of course the Law did concern itself with purity and the rituals guaranteeing it.
I still do not why the fact that the presence of unleavened bread at the Last Supper Passover (symbolically representing a “pure” body) should necessitate belief that the “wine” at the last supper was not alcoholic (especially given the association of alcohol with the divine, and its use in Jewish ritual).
Which branch of Christianity understands wine to be impure in the same way that leavened bread is (if it is)?
But you do not answer my first point – Surely the exegesis on the “wine” of the last supper contains reference to the original word and its translation?
And some religious scholars believe that Christianity paganized monotheistic Judaism. The presence in Christianity of Greek cults is well documented. At least one Greek cults had a thing about gases…
If you can’t have yeasty wine, does that mean you can’t have yeasty bread? Ever? I couldn’t live without sourdough. I just wouldn’t want to go on……….

I’m late to this conversation, but you don’t seem very familiar with Judaism.
The unleavened bread is, has been explained, for Passover [Exodus 12:14-17] “…And this day shall become a memorial for you, and you shall observe it as a festival for the L-RD, for your generations, as an eternal decree shall you observe it. For seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, but on the first day you shall remove the leaven from your homes … you shall guard the unleavened bread, because on this very day I will take you out of the land of Egypt; you shall observe this day for your generations as an eternal decree.” The Jews have always been a hunted minority, and it is only by tradition and ritual they hold together as a culture. Passover is one of them. And unleavened bread is also a reminder of humility, that one should not be full of oneself (filled with hot air/puffed up with self-importance).
You should also realize that “grape juice” is a modern invention. Due to natural occuring yeast on the skins of grapes they begin to ferment naturally upon squeezing. The process invented by Welch to keep grape juice from turning into wine was received as revolutionary.
If you wish to practice temperance, it is your right. Mormons, Baptists and others reject all forms of alcohol. But please don’t try and twist history to fit into your contemporary beliefs.
