The American Progressive Movement is racialist and racist at it’s core. They believe that Blacks and Hispanics are helpless victims who can’t succeed with without the help of Enlightened White Progressives. They have smeared Those on the Right that preach Individualism and self reliance as racists. In reality it is the American Left that is racist, just like their German Progressive Cousins were 70 years ago. As a Hispanic, I can testify that the most racist people I have met are White Progressives.
In a blatant example of Progressive Racism, a judge ordered the water turned off for Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. This has crippled the farmers, many of whom are Hispanic and has caused loss of jobs and loss of Food productions. Former Democrat, turned Republican and comedian Paul Rodriguez is leading the protest against this. His family owns a farm in the San Joaquin Vally and they will be affected. He lobbied Interior Secretary Ken Salazar to no effect. Clearly this is done for Racial reasons. The Obama Administration would rather please White Progressive Environmentalists than help out Hispanic farmers.

Paul Rodriguez wants water – and he’s angry enough to get some
One wouldn’t immediately associate comedian and actor Paul Rodriguez with a serious issue such as water. But, as Mark Twain said: “Whiskey is for drinking; water is for fighting over.”
Rodriguez is so concerned about water that he helped create the California Latino Water Coalition, led marches with several thousand people in recent weeks, and spoke Saturday night to a convention of the conservative California Republican Assembly in Bakersfield. I addressed the convention goers about my U.S. Senate run against Barbara Boxer just before Rodriguez’ turn at the podium.
What has Rodriguez’ concerned to spark political action is the shutdown of water pumps in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. These pumps move water from California’s wet north to the agricultural Central Valley and urban Southern California. A judge’s ruling switched the pumps off over a controversial U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service report that declared a fish, the delta smelt, threatened. No one really knows if turning the pumps off will help the fish, but most can agree that California’s agricultural industry will take a big hit this year due to lack of water.
Rodriguez and his family own farmland in the Central Valley where, as the comedian said Saturday night, “We grow the sweetest oranges and sourest lemons.” But now, because of a judge’s ruling, the most fertile land on “this blue marble” will lie fallow. People will be out of work. Less food will be grown. And farmer and farm worker alike will be hurt.
Rodriguez had notes at the podium but didn’t refer to them as he spoke for 40 minutes, presenting a potent alternating mix of passion, humor, and fact. He recalled using his talent to help many prominent Democrats raise money only to have every one of them turn him a deaf ear when he asked them for assistance over the water issue. “What are they afraid of,” he asked, “fish can’t vote.”
Paul Rodriguez asks a very good question, “What are they afraid of?” He has discovered that the Progressive controlled Democratic party views Hispanics as their inferior vassals. When it comes to the interest of Hispanic farmers vs. White Environmentalist, the vassals must back down to their masters. This attitude caused Rodriguez to flip to the Republicans after seeing they don’t care about Hispanic farmers.
Rodriguez also has advise to the GOP in regards of Media and RINO calls of moving away from Social Conservatism.
And in contrast to much of the mainstream media’s habit of encouraging Republicans to moderate on social issues, he suggested that the Republican party’s conservative positions on issues like abortion and family values would be an advantage in attracting Hispanic voters. Rodriguez: “You need to attract more of me, or else you’d be an endangered species. … You know, we have so much in common. A lot of the values that this party espouses, we espouse. We believe strongly in family. We believe life is sacred.”
He is spot on, the GOP should not sell out to please the Media or Progressives. What the GOP should do is take advantage of this situation and have Paul Rodriguez as a spokesman to the Hispanic Community. He has seen Progressive Racism first hand and would be a great voice to show Latins, who the real racists are!
Conservatives/Libertarians must use the Race card Card against the Progressives. The achilles heel of the Left is their elitist Racist attitude and it should be exploited.
Below is a clip of Rodriguez on Hannity.
Update: song_and_dance_man makes a valid point.
Not only are the progressives racist, they are biased for taking into consideration the concerns of fish over their fellow human beings.
Now how exactly does one find what the fish really want? Their whole premise is flawed and the progressives use issues like these to promote their various whack job special interest groups as in this case the Environmental lobby.
These are the same people who save baby seals but have no problem with terminating the life of an unborn human.

Congrats, Bob.
Anyway, I saw that segment of Sean Hannity’s show about the Hispanic farmers in California. They’ve been used as pawns all this time by progressives. Frankly, that’s how it has been with the Left. They use any and everybody any way they can to advance their agendas.
They don’t think of the Hispanic farmers (or us) as people, let alone equals; just the masses.
In a sane media this would be front page for months on end. Shame on the bigoted MSM.G-d bless these good people and I hope their land is restored. What a terrible way to find out you have been had.

Rodan,
I am glad you made this post because this is something that I just can’t abide. Those people worked the land and built up something admirable and prospered from the literal fruits of their labor.
They will destroy all of that hard work and sacrifice because of some environmentally insane bullshit about some kind of fish. A. Fish.
What’s more important? People or fish?
There’s nothing wrong with trying to preserve the environment, but not at the expense of people’s hard work, good fortunes, and the welfare of these families.
What the Hispanic farmers have done there is the very embodiment of the American Dream, and it is a shame to see these people treated like this. Our government has actively begun harming our citizens.
This is the kind of story one would hear from people who escaped from oppressive tyrannies, not Americans suffering at the feet of the government that is supposed to serve the populous.
This is a shameful and dark chapter in our nation’s history from where I am sitting and I hope that relief comes when those pumps are turned on … by government order, or by those that have the courage to do what is right. Whichever comes first.
I am surprised this story got so little press. Aside from FOX, did anyone cover it?

The Left has always been at war with my values, and when leftism grew and metasticized within the Dem party like a cancer I had no other choice. Asta la vista libturds.
re: #15 by MightyConservative
The MSM is a whore to Obama.
I’ve always been curious as to why the more traditional views on abortion and family issues hadn’t been more of a drawing card for the GOP when it came to Hispanic voters in the past. Hopefully the tide is changing on that issue.

re: #22 by snowcrash
Of course it does not apply to America. It would not shock me if they do this across the nation. Their goal is to destroy American agriculture and have us import food.
Western allies on Wednesday pressured to launch credible investigations into UN allegations of possible war crimes by the Israel Defense Forces during last year’s war in the Gaza Strip.
The United States, Britain and France all said Israel should look into findings published last month by a UN mission led by South African jurist Richard Goldstone.
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1121045.html
With “Friends” like these who needs enemies?
This is an important issue, though it isn’t so much racism as not caring about minorities real interests as they say they do. (What helps these people more–affirmative action, or having access to water work and live with, and cheaper food to buy and sell?)
These progressives that push for minority rights, like feminists today who ignore or excse abuse at the hands of islam, do so only when it comes at the expense of the western culture as a whole–only when they can incite division and spread dependance; it’s cultural marxism divide and conquer. That’s the motivation of the elites who set the agenda, followed by unthinking, but feeling, liberals who want to feel good about sticking up for the little guy.
But when it comes down to what helps hundreds of people especially minorites, progressive elite take the side of a stinking fish over people. Could the fish live somewhere else? Would anyone miss the damn thing? Who knows, who cares, it takes priority.
It’s largely inexplicable, except in religious terms. The mindless emotion-driven version of environmentalism becomes a good exalted above any legitimate benefits, a god on which things that they supposedly care about are sacrificed to atone for their sins.
Of course, no personal loss will come to the progressive activists like those that sue under the endangered species act or the Judge who ruled this case. They can afford higher food & water prices, their jobs are secure.
In the end they don’t so much even help nature, because when I, and doubtless others, hear about insanity like this I want nothing more than to go dynamite fishing in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
So no, I don’t think it is racism, but it is bloody aweful.

re: #27 by Nevergiveup

re: #18 by vagabond trader
This is a curious case, because you have traditionally liberal causes conflicting here. On one hand you have the plight and welfare of minorities on one side, people that have worked extremely hard to build what they have, and then you have … a fish. Or at least the welfare of the fish, which may or may not be affected by the water flow.
My question would be if this fish is so vital can’t they raise it to preserve it? It seems there has to be some solution that doesn’t involve the wholesale destruction of people’s lives.

‘There’s nothing wrong with trying to preserve the environment, but not at the expense of people’s hard work, good fortunes, and the welfare of these families.’
Not to mention a goodly sized chunk of food supply for all the other 56 states and abroad. Haven’t you noticed the spike in prices of arugula lately?
In all honesty, they would just have happily starved out tens of thousands of white farmers to save some small bait fish.
The libtards, I mean. They are racist, in a condescending way, but the ethnic composition of the SJV farmers isn’t why they’re screwed.
It is just noteworthy that what is considered a reliable Demonrat voting bloc (not Cubans, of course, people who have experienced communism recognize it in the Demonrat Party, like ‘Comrade Red Square’, from Breshnev’s USSR, at ‘The Peoples Cube) is getting screwed by unchecked Demonratic Gaia worship.
What is alk this then?
Not only are the progressives racist, they are biased for taking into consideration the concerns of fish over their fellow human beings.

re: #26 by Nikis Knight
Great comment.
It is obvious that the pols in CA. and the animal rights thugs, who they are beholden to, believe that a 2 in. minnow trumps the very lives and existence of human beings.
This is a form of human sacrifice that is fine with these radical maniacs. BTW, these nature terrorists don’t give a shit about the little fish. They are ruthless ideologues. Peta euthanizes
more dogs than any other animal protection outfit.
These activists use animals to push their agenda to shut down
human civilization.
I can’t find the source but I remember reading years ago a memo from the Sierra Club which provided a rare glimpse into theri real motivations. And those motivations had nothing to do with nature or conservancy or small furry endangered animals. it had everything to do with advancing the agenda of the Progressive Left. Which is the label that communists have taken on since they’re smart enough to realize that even the half asleep masses out there are wise to the commie cause.
All these leftist organizations are fronts for worldwide communism. They are wolves in sheeps clothing.

I should say special minority rights, as different from everyone else. Obviously making sure there aren’t legal hinderances to someone based on arbitrary physical distinctions as was the case in the past, like the real civil rights activists did earlier, was wonderful, but those who claim their mantle today do us little good and much harm, by and large.

The logic of Progressivism is to remove privilege from the top and give it to successively lower (victim) orders: from rich white male through poor workers, women, through underclass, through third world, to animals, fish and coral and viruses.

Not just tomatoes, the San Joaquin valley produces almost every variety of produce you can imagine. It is incredibly rich and fertile ground. It does, however, need water irrigated to the fields. HUGE fields. Drive the I5 corridor sometime and you see agriculture for mile after endless mile in every direction. It’s awesome and is California’s #1 industry. Put into chaos by leftists.
The failure of the left to see the injustice here to hispanic people is the same as the NOW hags remaining silent to the abuse of women under Islam.

Oh, and there have been documented instances of the activists who flock to the EPA lying about the existance of endangered species in an area. They are anti-capitalists who use the welfare of slugs and fish to attack land owners.
John Stossel has examples in his book Myths, Lies, and Downright Stupidity, and Hugh Hewitt reports from time to time of defending land-owners from these suits. Hearing their stories makes me despise the Endangered Species Act which is used often by activists to harrass people who then have little recourse to their constitutional rights.

As the article shows, this is a great instance to peel away some “reflexive liberals” people who just want to be seen as compassionate, from the radical progressives that use them to gain power by manipulating them with slander and emotional appeals.
The radical progressives and amnesty because they feel they will be seen as benefactors to the new immigrants and gain a voting block who they can hopefully manipulate through collectivist politics, without actually caring for their wellfare, at least not, as Rodan shows, as much as a lousy fish.
I believe that this is a decided minority among the democratics voting public, and hopefully those that just want to vote their compassion can be shown that the progressives aren’t particularly concerned with outcomes that benefit people.

Tom McClintock has been out there, as have several Cali GOP members of the house – this is all happening, by the way, in their districts, the RED area of California – the San Joaquin and Imperial Valleys.
Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein have, at this point, done NOTHING to assist the California farmers from this area – why? I think mainly because they don’t VOTE for them.
God Bless Paul Rodriquez. At least he may be able to make the Hispanic, Latin (and my apologies, Rodan, if I get it wrong in the reference) and other minority farmers in the area see that the Progressives/Democrats are not their friends.
Let me put it this way – I live 47 miles from the Sacramento valley – where they grow an abundance of the nation’s tomatoes. Customarily in the summer, I pay less than 99 cents a pound. They are now $2.99 a pound.

Oh, and that lovely man Rick Sanchez who started the smear – well, well, turns out he left a Dolphins game back in 1990, was drunk, ran over a man, left him for dead (aka Hit and Run). Returned to “scene” two hours later, still drunk. Only cited for drunk driving. My, my, my. And his victim? Died five years later, but was paralyzed.
Nice crowd you smear merchants are. *spit*

re: #99 by chickadee
All LGF offers these days is the soap-opera like drama of watching his vicious pack of attack dogs turn on each other. Content wise it is a waste of time.

That reminds me, I’m going to be riding as long as I can into the winter, I’ll take pictures.
Of course, I’m on a motorcycle, not a lil bicycle.
Just have to get it out of the shop.
I just watched the video posted and I’m just as pissed as I can get. Common sense has escaped our nation as a whole; I feel like I am trapped in bizarro world.

It’s put a crimp in Tuesday Taco night, that’s for damn sure. Not enough salsa to go around for everybody.
And I’m REALLY pissed at having to cut back on my salads and BLT’s.
But to the poster above re rice – yes, they also grow that in the Sacramento Valley, but I think their water comes from another side of the Delta not affected by that stupid 2-inch fish that can barely be used as bait.

You’ll be amazed at how well Levin has Obama nailed down. To a T. His argument is that Obama’s not so much a socialist as he is a statist, and after you read it, you’ll see makes some fine points. I highly recommend his book.

A few months ago we were sitting here in real time predicting who would get banned. All of a sudden they would appear as fresh new posters here, lol.
What amazes me the most about humans these days is just how large the global lefty population is. How its possible that so many can be so irrational boggles the mind. It really has been feeling like walking around a Twilight Zone episode with Invasion of the Pod People.
Are these lousy little fish worthy of eating or anything? WTfoxtrot.

I don’t think this is about a fish. I think this is about control. What better way to control a people that to affect their food supply?

This world is getting scarier by the day. The powers that be control finances, working on “health care,” which I believe in the near future will be replaced with witch doctors since it seems anyone in the field won’t be able to afford to stay in the profession. Basically, we will all be a ward of the state similar to n. korea.
re: #153 by vapig
Yeah, but the people who support the law and aren’t in power, what’s in it for them? The rank and file “Goode family” liberal democrat? Just generally detesting humanity, or what?
Is that too many question marks in one post?

Absolutely. I’m all for saving the fish, but saving the fish and allowing the farmers their water isn’t mutually exclusive (except if you’re a Progressive). Surely there’s an engineer left in California that can build a pipe that doesn’t suck up fish.

I was posting there quite a bit during the election. Got attacked by quite a number of people calling me all sorts of names.
Didn’t read it or go back until about 4 months ago and got jumped on immediately, banned in less than an hour. lOlolol
Let’s face it — progressives see human beings as a scourge upon the Earth. If they could end the existence of the human race to make the planet a little prettier, they’d do it.
They think humans are chauvinistic towards animals and rocks.

You can’t use technology to solve a problem created by human interference with nature! It’s just trying to treat sin with more sin! Only diminishing human standards of living are acceptable, not overcoming problems* via ingenuity and capitalism.

The NFL has become exactly what Rush describes it as. There is little dignity and respect left in the game. Much like one would expect from crips and bloods.
This is my last post here. I used to love the debates. Is anyone paying attention to the economy? How about the overt irresponsibility on the hill? Oh yes, I almost forgot, our men and women in uniform risking their lives for this country, for YOU.

I know this is going to sound cynical and perhaps a bit elitist but a big part of me thinks that this affliction of Leftism is due to affluence. It’s a bunch of spoiled rotten brats having too much time on their hands. When you’re struggling to make a living you don’t have time to sit around and pontificate about fucking nirvana. You’re busy living and appreciating the things you’ve earned.
The irony is that these leftist bastards have that time on their hands due to the hard work and effort of their predecessors. And they spit on it’s fruits and toy with and tinker with it. And they will fuck it up. You mark my words.

re: #210 by Eliana
Thats how a lot of us found it. Hes our best PR man!
I haven’t found any hard science yet – but I found what a congresscritter had to say on the matter:
http://www.campbell.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2548&Itemid=73
Delta Smelt: Most of you reading this are in Southern California. But you should know that 85,000 of our farmers from the Central Valley of California have lost their jobs as their farms dry up with no water. It’s not because of the drought. There is plenty of water available for those farms, but radical groups have succeeded in getting 12 water pumps from the Sacramento Delta shut down in order to protect the habitat of a 2-inch fish that is not indigenous to the region called the Delta Smelt. Many of you know that I am an animal lover and believe in protecting species. But I do not believe in destroying thousands of human lives, livelihoods, and causing us to lose the ability to produce our own food in order to improve the quality of life of an invasive fish species that is not endangered. We can open those pumps, and there will still be plenty of fish because of filters and we should build the “peripheral canal” to secure water for the future of California farming.

I think it will be very interesting when Paul Rodriguez campaigns for Republican candidates next year, which he has said he’s going to do. He’s going to be especially vocal in Los Angeles.
He’s been warmly welcomed by Cali GOP Congress critters when he’s asked to speak to them, and he said on Inga’s show that he was very surprised, considering he’d heard so much negative data about the GOP.
To Arnold’s credit, by the way, he’s been trying to get the pumps turned on as well, according to the stories I’ve read.
re: #216 by teacake
Or just off his rocker.Funny thing I was feeling sorry for him and a few here chastized me reminding us that he had indeed hurt a lot of good people. Wouldn’t you know that a couple of hours later his handmaiden Irish Rose complained to our server about some nonsense and we were shut down for hours.Thats what you get for feeling sorry for a jerk.
re: #214 by vapig

While South Park isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, the episode with hybrid car, and then the move to San Francisco, did about as much as I have ever seen for those special folks that go the extra mile to be “enlightened.”
If you haven’t seen it, it is worth a watch because it hits the nail on the head with the self-righteous smugness that just makes ordinary folks want to vomit projectile style.

Charles must have been at therapy.
This situation reminds me of a land preservation society back where I grew up on a dairy farm run by my dad. My relatives from the city couldn’t believe that my father wouldn’t support conservation efforts, but while preserving land for agriculture was the preservation society’s stated aim, the only people they seemed to be fighting were farmers who wanted to expand their operations.

re: #221 by Carolina Girl
What do you mean trying??? He’s the governator, for cryin out loud! He should be able to sign some executive order or something. The job has it’s perks for goodness sakes!!
You shut off the water. The farmers go broke, the millions of acres are all put up at once in a big fire sale, for pennies on the dollar. And guess who works for one of the biggest real estate development companies in California.
Diane Finsteins husband, Richard Blum of CBRE. And Paul Pelosi who has major real estate holdings including vineyards, stood side by side with his wife and Finsteins right behind Obama during the campaign. After it is bought up, I predict the water will magically turn on again. Follow the money.
South Park has its funny moments…

Man she is good too isn’t she?
Rodan, this is a very important topic and excellent thread. We need to work hard on exposing the actions by the progressives to harm the good people of the land who work hard and provide for the nation. We cannot allow them to damage our food supply nor distress our farmers. They do it to gain power and divert wealth to their cronies.
I hope to see more threads on the matter.
Why should this judge and cronies have running water in their gated community mansions?
OK. Fine. Progressives think humans are a cancer on Gaia’s arse or whatever. Well, then, since they’re so enlightened and progressive and all, they should lead by example and remove themselves from existence. After all, despite the God-complex, they still eat, shit, and use up resources. So, being the avant-guarde, they should be at the forefront of this fantastic new movement. After all, we common peasants are too dumb to learn any other way but by example. So, here is your chance, progressives! Be first! Be daring! Do it for Mother Gaia!
I just knew that Pelosi and Feinstein had skins in the game, so to speak. Truly, totally, and utterly disgusting – but not totally surprising.
