Talk about going after the Country Club Set! The Totalitarian Progressive Tyrant Hugo Chavez is now planning to shut down Golf Courses. He claims Golf is not areal sport and that it’s a bourgeois activity. My question is why does this nut job care about Golf?

CARACAS, Venezuela — Every day, Pascual Cicenia plays golf on an emerald course that is 18 holes of tropical heaven in the middle of this chaotic city. He doesn’t take it for granted, he said, especially now that President Hugo Chávez has disparaged the sport as an elitist endeavor with few friends in his populist government.
“You can get into the golf course in about five minutes. You can get in a round of golf just about every day,” gushed Cicenia, 23, taking a break last week as he practiced his 155-yard drives. “It’s probably why he wants to take it away.”
Chávez did not directly vilify this course, the Caracas Country Club, Venezuela’s most exclusive and a citadel of the country’s wealthiest families. But in a televised outburst against golf, Chávez criticized the sport as “bourgeois,” mocked golfers as lazy and said that “there is no justification for a golf course in the middle of a city.”
Like a typical Progressive, Hugo Chavez seeks to impose his view on others. He hates Golf, so therefore Venezuelan golfers must suffer. This is what happens when Progressivism has a stranglehold on a nation. People can’t even play Golf, it just doesn’t cease with these Leftists.
Make no mistake, if we don’t defeat American Progressives, America will be like Venezuela. It’s no coincidence that Obama likes this man.

Par for the course. He’s stopped puttering around and is taken swings at decadent capitalist pastimes. No need to be tee’d off. This’ll drive a wedge between Chavez and his middle class, though there is a fairway to go before counter-revolution. Expect a rough patch for the bogeyman.

Charles is using a Media Matters clip claiming that Beck compared Obama’s attacks on Fox to the Holocaust. It is a total lie. I heard that show and Beck was saying that others in the media should gloat over Obama’s attempts to shut down Fox. Actually it was a 15 minutes segment where he compared Obama’s attacks on Fox to what Hugo Chavez did in Venezuela in silencing the media.
Charles got called out for his BS!

One of several words that comes to me about CJ is sanctimonious.
Unless I wasn’t paying attention to his decline, seems to me it was around a month or so before the election. He went nuts about the birth certificate as if he had first hand knowledge above and beyond anyone.
I didn’t notice exactly when the evolution thing became obsessive. And his hate for Sarah Palin. Maybe it was noticeable before all of that, but that’s when I realized something was amiss. Actually, I think his change began when he added automatic spelling for Mussie or muslim with a small m.
What I don’t understand is how people know who gets banned if by chance it isn’t mentioned and they just vanish.
Is this week an unusual amount or something? Its making my head spin.

Well I am convinced that the only way Israel will ever be safe is to destroy the Muslim extremists. I would follow that with any hardcore Neo-Nazis, but I think the threat from them is much more remote at the moment.
re: #58 by linoleumknife
Obama’s “progressive” advisers told him that all would be well if only he demanded what he wanted (which was to get Israel to do some impossible things that would impress the Arab Muslim world so that Obama would look like a cool guy). Obama didn’t ask Israel if his demands could be met.
He claimed he was going to the Middle East (not to Israel, of course) to listen instead of talk (not to Israel, of course) so he made stupid demands that Israel can’t possibly meet. Not that he’s taking responsibility for his stupidity. His advisers and staff are still claiming that the chances for peace are better than ever since Obama got involved on Day One.
He should have stayed in bed on that day.
Democrats are the Party of Unintended Consequences.
The world doesn’t work the way liberals want it to work simply because they want it to work that way.
Obama isn’t a supernatural being that can wave a wand and make the world change overnight. He can do a lot of damage (which he’s doing) but the unintended consequences are going to bite us all in one way or another before he’s through.
re: #59 by Eliana
Well I have no argument there. I just pray for everyone involved that Israel does not get nuked. It will be all hell then.
re: #60 by linoleumknife
Well, I think Israel is on top of things intel-wise with the right judgment of what needs to be done (light years more than Obama will ever be) so I think things will be fine when it comes to Iran.
The “Palestinians” are just doofuses (unless they start trying to carry Iran’s bomb for Iran). If they do this, they will be far more dangerous (including to themselves).
Obama is clueless about all this.

Huh, wasn’t their last one fairly conservative though. I remember him saying something to the effect that if you were going to immigrate their you had better assimilate.
re: #79 by linoleumknife
John Howard was one of the better world leaders of the last ten years. He raised Australia’s profile and esteem like few others since Menzies in WW2. Yet he lost the last election and his seat in Parliament. Why? AGW! Rudd campaigned on a ticket of Climate Change and mocked Howard’s skepticism of the fraud. Because Australia, like many Southern Hemispheric nations such as Argentina and South Africa have been experiencing severe droughts, (these are severe but the countries do lie in a drought belt), Rudd won. Pity
The thing about Chavez is that he appears to be a South American Mugabe. The politics of envy are so easy but the consequences are so terrible. All the genocides of the 20th Century stem from that philosophy.
re: #80 by African Moondog
That’s the one. Yeah this Gorebull Warming B.S. needs to stop. Even my gf, who is conservative, is starting to be taken in by it. Sure enough they have been catching up this last month.
re: #81 by African Moondog

re: #83 by linoleumknife
Does the TOTUS realize that?
re: #85 by African Moondog
I would say he is counting on it. Why they hate our country and what it stands for is beyond me. What makes this country so great is what gives people with his type of background a chance. Meaning his heritage. In no other country can people get so far ahead. Amazingly this seems to be the thing that the Progressives hate about us more than anything. I used to tolerate them. I would write them off, but no more. I am pissed, very pissed, and I will do everything in my power to stop them. They are the enemy.
re: #86 by linoleumknife
One thing the progressives are superb at is mobilizing their base. Only Rove seemed to match them in that regard. McCain was so inept at that electoral necessity that it is amazing that he got as many electoral votes as he did. Only Palin came close which is why she is being so vilified at the moment. To take a leaf out of their book, “Do not mourn, (or get pissed)…mobilize”.
Sorry this a long post, but it is directly related to this thread:
How to catch a wild hog.
Not a hunting story! by Lowell E. Hedges Elgin, IL
How to catch a wild hog… How true and frightening
I can best explain my concern about the new congress’s agenda, by
using this analogy given to me by a former student of mine. Several
years ago I was supervising a beginning teacher in a city school
system.
One day during our end-of-the-day feedback conference, the young man
gave a facial grimace and began to rub his back. I asked him if he had
strained his back in the school lab.
After a long period of silence, he sat down at his desk and explained
that he had immigrated to the United States because of political
problems in his native country. The discomfort in his back was caused
by a bullet wound he had received while fighting the Communists who
were trying to take over his country’s government. He was then a
member of the underground nationalist force.
Then he asked me a surprising question: “Dr. Hedges, do you know how
to catch a wild hog?” The question was completely out of context
regarding the day’s classroom and lab teaching. I replied, “I’m not
sure what you are talking about. Tell me.”
“First,” he said, “you find out where the wild hogs are roaming and
feeding and then you put some corn out in the field. Soon they will
come to eat the corn. You keep putting out the free corn. More wild
hogs keep coming to eat the corn.”
“So what?” I said. “That’s normal for any animal.”
“Be patient. I will tell you what comes next,” he said. “After the
hogs get used to your free corn, you put up a length of fence along
one side of the feeding area. The hogs get used to it. You keep giving
them the corn. Then you put up another section of fence at right
angles to the first. You keep giving them the corn. The hogs get used
to the second fence. Then you put up another length of fence at right
angles to the second section. You now have a U-shaped fenced area. The
hogs get used to that section of the fence.
You keep giving them free corn. Then you put another section of fence
with a gate in it, making a closed area except for the gate. You keep
giving them corn. Now, the hogs no longer are out in the fields,
working to find their own food. They keep coming into the area to eat
the free corn. They get used to the fenced area with the open gate.
Then, one day you slam shut the gate when the hogs are inside the
fenced area. The wild hogs are caught – they are your prisoners.”
I understood then that the wild hogs were really the people of his
native country and that the free corn was the enticements that the
Communists were giving to the people.
“That’s correct,” the young man said. “Now, the hogs will not get
anything to eat unless you give them food. You are in control. They
depend on you to feed them, or they will starve. They can’t get out
into the fields and forests anymore to find their own food. They have
probably forgotten how, as it is. They are your servants, your
prisoners. They must obey you. Or else they starve.
“The hogs,” he said, “were so accustomed to having the free corn,
that they ignored the building of the fences that would eventually
trap them. When the gate slammed shut, it was too late for them to
realize what they had been blind to. The free corn was enticing, so
effortless to obtain, but eventually the cause of their loss of
freedom. The fence had been built; the gate had been shut.”
At this point in our conversation, the young teacher, in a voice
shaking with emotion and with fists hitting the desktop, loudly
exclaimed, “This is what I see happening in America today! People are
being offered free corn by the government.
People are being blind to the fences being built around them by the
liberals – the socialists – and that is what frightens me! Just like
it was happening in my homeland.
The American people do not learn from history. And history shows that
socialism/communism does not work.
Take note of Russia. Has socialism been the best thing that ever
happened to that country? Absolutely not! But socialism is what the
American people are being fed, and they don’t realize it. All they can
focus on is the ‘free corn.’ They want more and more of the free corn.
And this free corn is being fed to us little by little, and soon the
gate will slam shut.
I am very frightened, and also amazed, that the American people don’t
see what is being fed us, and for what purpose.”
With that said the young man sat down at his desk and continued to
rub his painful back.
And I was silent in my chair, and afraid, for I could visualize the
supposedly “free corn” being fed to our nation’s people and our
growing addiction to the “free corn”. And I could see the gate being
slammed shut.
We, the people of the United States of America, because of our
ignorance of history, because of our addiction to the supposedly “free
corn,” could soon be prisoners of liberal socialism.
Along with this fighter for freedom from socialism/communism, I too,
wanted to slam my fists on the desktop and cry out in a loud voice for
all to hear, “Wake up, America! The fences are being built! Don’t you
see what is happening to us?”
In the agenda of the new Congress governed by the liberal Democrats,
there is much “free corn” being promised the American people. In our
greed for this “free corn,” will we ignore the incremental building of
the fences and the inevitable shutting of the gate? As I ponder the
building of the fences now underway by the new Congress, I remember
the old adage; there is always free cheese in a mousetrap.”
It seems the only thing we learn from history is that we do not learn
from history.

Do you go back in the summer? I could never tolerate the heat and humidity of Florida summers.

It seems like LGF has morphed into a contest to see who can suck up to Charles the most.
Right now Sharm & that Weasel thing are doing a hatchet job on Pam Gellar & it is very juvinile.

Go back to visit about twice a year. I wilt in the humidity on the Gulf Coast but drink a lot of water. The up side of my heat intolernce is the fact that I sweat off any winter weight gain. Soggy but slim, that’s me.
Well guys and gals, I have to run. Y’all take care and hopefully we will be able to catch up soon.

Olympia Snowe proves she’s more in touch with the Dem party than she does with the Republicans.
With an American Conservative Union rating of 12% for 2008 (lifetime just under 48%), the Maine Republicans need to find someone who’s more in touch with Republican ideals.
No, I don’t think we need everyone in the party to march in lockstep, but when you vote that far to the left, maybe you’d be more comfortable somewhere else.
Here’s some happy news.
Poll shows Specter staring at ‘near fatal’ 31 percent re-election figure
HARRISBURG — Only 31 percent of Pennsylvania voters believe Democratic Sen. Arlen Specter should be re-elected, and 59 percent believe it’s time to give someone else a chance, a state poll released today shows.

FNC just had a Christisan pastor on (Muslim Convert) who knows Rifqa Bary. He explained how the young girl is in danger due to Sharia Law.
She claims that her father has threatened several times to send her back to Sri Lanka “To be dealt with.”
Here is the kicker , the family is being compelled by the court to prove legal residency.
Concievably they could all be deported, but I would hope that she would be granted asylum.
re: #129 by RIX
It looked to me like the judge, rather than make a decision, punted.
Rather than apply the law, he twisted it in order to make everyone happy, and absolve himself of any ensuing backlash. Unfortunately, that’s not his job.
He should be removed from office.
This is what empathetic justice gets you.
re: #73 by African Moondog
Actually most of the Europe has shifted to the right during this decade. Ironically USA had its lurch to the left in the meantime. I saw just week or two ago illustrative map about which countries in Europe had leftists in government back in 2000 and now. It was satisfying to see that change.
re: #130 by Bumr50
The thing to do is run the clock until she is 18 & can do what she wants. I wonder if there has been a motion filed to emancipate her now.
I agree with you, the courts should take a stand & declare a credible threat & protect her.
I do not like parental rights being dismissed but this girl knows her father well & says that she is in danger.
Does anyone else think that Sorosis is offering to finance people like Harry Reid for the rest of their lives if they sacrifice themselves in the name of the agenda?
That or a death threat?
It’s as if they don’t even care about retaining office, which for them is EVERYTHING.
re: #132 by RIX
I agree.
Yesterday I read what had happened in the courtroom, and there’s one thing I want to raise, and it’s the appalling way DCF behaves. It was simply despicable.
Morning everybody.
re: #134 by Purre
DCF unfortunately is populated by a lot of government lifers who usually take the path of least resistance. Ther are good people there , but it is the culture.
re: #132 by RIX
That was almost assured due to the national scrutiny.
They did the only dangerous thing that they could, because if they are deported then all bets are off. 18 means nothing wherever they would be headed.
Pam Gellar says she went after the Fox lackey for not reporting well, and I’m glad. He did a piss poor job.
This is how Sharia creeps. Fear.
re: #137 by Bumr50
Yeah, public scrutiny I believe will protect this girl.
The legal system is doing a dance to avoid hurting Muslim feelings.

I believe the crisis to be spiritual, and “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” just isn’t going to cut it with these bastards. It’s what they’re counting on from us. It’s what happened in Europe.
Rifqa Bary can stay, she was born here, has a birth cert to prove it, unlike some people, it’ll be funny if her parents get a ticket home afterall their bitching. However I see teh 0 giving them a pass.

Judge could have had some some balls and tried to set some precedent. The appeals process would’ve taken years and Rifqa would be safe.
Not that I was expecting it, but it would’ve been nice. We need to demand it, because this is how Sharia creep happens EXACTLY.

re: #133 by Bumr50
They have always had an agenda. That agenda has always come first. The Democrats are willing to risk losing office for the right things. The “Assault Weapon” ban is a good case in point. They gambled they could get away with it, and had we left things up to the NRA they would have. Among others, the NRA endorsed Jack Brooks after he helped ramrod that abortion through Congress. For tunately, the people decided to take matters into their own hands.
The only reason the Democrat Leadership hasn’t brought that back up is something like 60 Blue Dogs said they would vote against it if they did. They are willing to risk much for their agenda, but they aren’t going to fall on their sword in an exercise in futility. Besides, the legal climate has drastically changed since 1994. Heller was goundbreaking. I don’t see how an AWB could possibly be constitutional under Heller.
Does President Hussein play golf? He’ll go after NASCAR and bocce ball first.

Quote of the day :
Top Ten Comments
Charles: BHO is not nearly as radical as I thought he was going to be. Here are some examples…
I swear BHO is a Progressive Personal Pet Project, NOT The President of the United States. I was flipping the channels yesterday on the TV. Had it on “Ellen” for two seconds. The actor Jimmy Smits was the guest. He was telling everyone that he was going to DC that night to meet with BHO. Ellen beams and says “Aren’t you proud of him?”
Barf!
Oh and good morning!
re: #197 by Mrs.Robinson
He’s not as radical because he CAN’T be, not becauses he doesn’t WANT to be.

It’s like the whole closing Gitmo thing. Or giving a speech in front of a potentially hostile crowd by LYING to them as in “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is over!”

Think of it this way: if she said she was afraid of her father and wanted to get an abortion, the Left would be up in arms about her rights not being protected. That her father is a Mohammedan and she’s afraid he will kill her for converting to Christianity…
I wouldn’t want to suggest that the Left thinks killing Christian is the right thing to do, but I will note that it is a good thing the Leftists don’t have access to lions…

This is bad news for Obama. Usually when a Democrat is President there are no homeless anywhere in the country, or at least it would seem so from the coverage of the issue by the news media. Not anymore:
Of course, it isn’t that the homeless ever really go away, but usually the press ignores it unless they can bash a Republican with the issue. That the armies of the homeless are making an appearance under a Democrat means that the problem is so serious they can’t ignore it.
