Point taken. Goodnight, m.
A year or so ago, there were some threads about some kids show over in “Palestine” with ‘Jihad rabbit’ and ‘Jihad bee’ and ‘Jihad something else’, each of which were offed by the evil greedy murderous Jooooos. Know what a bugger is?

Left a post about the whole Limbaugh thing on the NFL thread post 10 if you’re interested.
Seems the NFLPA thinks Rush just wouldn’t be good for the league. Buncha fancy words to call him a racist.
Just out of curiosity is there a way to update this thread (really all Threads) without “refreshing or posting?

So, is Chuckie denigrating the bear in the same manner he did the other animals, or has he started moving to tacit acceptance of the Hamas jihad?
re: #39 by Moe Katz
No Jihad Doggie, but I think the Jihad Teddy Bear sinks lower than the Jihad Mickey Mouse.
Imagine having a teddy bear that wants to commit murder.
Sounds like a Twilight Zone episode.
re: #30 by Moe Katz
Yeah, I feel your pain. It will cease soon enough, I hope. Till then it is the main topic on every thread. 2.0 and all that.
I just posted #37 because someone asked me about it on another thread. But, I’m not going to 1.0 ever again. I’m getting Nancy burn out also. The train wreck has occurred and all that’s left is picking through the twisted metal.

I’m gonna start putting a no LGF talk note on my threads. I’m sick of Charles and LGF. He’s finished and done as a credible blogger. By allying with Daily Kos, he’s done.
It’s time to let him rot on the vine.

That’s Oleg Atbashian, who runs “The People’s Cube” and posts there under the moniker “Red Square”.
Agree with the other posters, looks like all that is left of 1.0 is the carbeque. The Nancy thread is still a good idea while the twisted metal is still hot though. It will be interesting to see what the September sitemeter numbers come out. My guess is that he has a spike while the train was burning and people were a) gawking and b) trying to pull out survivors and get them to other blogs. October through the end of the year should be interesting. Given that folks here are probably the most die-hard because of the attachment they had to the community that was formed there and are yet burning out on the subject (although, given the last thread, the subject is not completely dead), how much more so other blogs will be pretty much ignoring the nonsense over there. Chuckles could be in for a cold winter.

re: #65 by Lost
Hamas TV has other music videos and clips that teach Gaza children to want to die while killing Jews.
One of the worst ones is the dramatization of a four year old girl who finds out that her mother has become a suicide bomber and wants to join her by becoming a suicide bomber, too. This is based on a real incident where a mother of two young children killed herself at the border crossing between Israel and Gaza several years ago.
The woman had claimed to be setting off a metal detector due to an artificial leg and she asked for a private room so that they could protect her modesty while making sure that she had an artificial leg. When they got into the room, she blew up and killed the people who were trying to be kind to her.
This woman’s children are being used to promote suicide bombings to children in Gaza and they got a child actress to play the part of the four year old who wants to commit suicide in a music video.
By the way, it turned out that the woman with the two young children who killed herself had taken a Hamas terrorist lover in a plot arranged by the husband. When the husband said he knew of the love affair, she essentially had a choice between an honor killing and becoming a suicide bomber.
It was the husband’s way of getting rid of her because he didn’t want to be married to her anymore. It’s being promoted as a glorious way to die by suicide for the sake of the “Palestinian” cause to the children of Gaza.
It goes so far beyond sick that it’s hard to explain with words.
P.S. Fatah has videos that teach Pal children that they should want to commit suicide to kill Jews, too.
#63 Possum:

re: #73 by Conservative Democrat
No, because the old URL will direct to the new one.
re: #68 by mjazz
The liberals and leftists condone that crap, and the Hamas videos that Eliana posted, all in the name of ‘victimhood.’ But the Israeli in Israel, who have been under attack for about 125 years, must sound like Christians at all times when talking about the Arabs or be condemned as haters.
Boy, the ones Left at LGF will come out of the woodwork for a good old-fashioned Christian bashing thread. They can bearly get up to tripple digits in comments, but attach a leading Christian figure like Dr. Dobson and you can rack up the posts.
I guiess that kind of says it all about 1.0. Nothing left there but bile.

But it’s a very addictive soap opera, especially when Snork and others do the thread combing for the greatest hits.
This is the Hamas music video of the dramatization of a four year old girl wanting to become a suicide bomber like her mother (an incident that really happened at the border between Gaza and Israel when a woman blew up people who were trying to help her because she claimed to be disabled with an artificial leg that was setting off the metal detector):

re: #80 by Eliana
The way I look at it, there are no moderate Mohammedans. There are moderate Arabs, Persians, what have you, but part of their moderation has been renouncing Islam (the Devil and all his works). MOhammedans all buy into the Jihad, the idea of subjugating the world under an Iron glove of Sharia, and that ’splodeydopes and other terrorists are martyrs in a Holy War.
They raise their children to believe that the way to the best groupsex in the afterlife is to commit suicide in a manner that you murder those around when you go. Islam is a sick, twisted religio-ideology. People talk about modernizing or reforming Islam, but I don’t believe that can be done. Until the Mohammedans quit teaching their children that they should let the Koran guide their lives, actions, and even manner of their death, moderation cannot come.
re: #71 by mjazz
Israelis appeared before a Senate hearing several years ago with videos showing that Fatah (a group regarded as “moderate peace makers”) shows videos where 11 year old girls wax poetic about how wonderful it would be to commit suicide to kill Jews.
Hillary was a Senator then and she said that Fatah (Mahmoud Abbas) should stop these videos.
She’s in a position to insist on it in her current job as Secretary of State (and she definitely knows about these videos) — but she isn’t saying a word.
re: #95 by mjazz
Thank goodness she was stopped. The doctor’s letter was moving.
re: #95 by mjazz
Here’s the video of this young Gaza woman who tried to commit a suicide bombing to kill the doctor who had saved her life and as many patients as she could get to die with him.
She failed, thank G-d.

re: #96 by Iron Fist
Gotta disagree with you. You’re painting with a very broad brush. I’ve got good friends who are muslim, and they have nothing to do with jihad.
re: #96 by Iron Fist
As Golda Meir Said…..
re: #97 by Eliana
I tried to find the one where she was really pissed off. The arab was saying “You have to understand the context..” and she cut him off and tore him a new one. So I wrote to the new Secretary of State to see if she still supported Israel and I got a “we’re gonna do what’s best for America” response.
re: #100 by Bunk X
Out of interest, how do they explain the passages in the Koran that speak of killing infidels?
re: #99 by Eliana
P.S. The terror group who gave this young woman the suicide bomb belt that was supposed to kill the doctor who had saved her life was Fatah.
Fatah (the so-called “moderate peace makers”) gave her the bomb that was supposed to murder doctors, nurses and patients in Israel after this woman’s life had been saved there.
re: #102 by mjazz
Obviously not. What’s best for America is the same as what’s best for Israel. Get rid of these sort of elements. There is little else that will stop them.
re: #100 by Bunk X
I agree. A lot just want to live a normal life with their families. The letter Moe Katz mentions is one example.
re: #98 by Moe Katz
In 2006 alone, Israel stopped 186 suicide bombers before they could blow up in Israel.
All (or almost all) of them had come from the “West Bank” where Fatah rules.
It was roughly one suicide bomb attempt every two days.

re: #100 by Bunk X
I don’t know your friends, so maybe they are exceptional, but I’ll take a sneaking guess that they donate money to “Muslim Charaties”, and most Mohammedan “charities” are, in one form or another, front groups for the political wing of the Jihad. I’d also take a close look at their position on Israel, the Jews, and the like. Anti-Semitism is very ingrained in their culture.

Islam and Judaism share the feature that religious authorities give guidelines on the interpretation of scriptural passages. If Muslim religous authorities want to say that Qur’anic passages on jihad are allegorical, or have been superseded and must be regarded as inoperative, they can so rule, just like rabbinical authorities. In that respect the argument that Islam is intrinsically violent and irredeemable is faulty, despite the nastiness of the texts.
re: #113 by Iron Fist
I completely disagree with your stereotype that all muslims agree on everything having to do with the middle east and jihad.
Let’s drop the stereotypes and focus on the problem. And the problem is not the religion. It’s the wahhabist militants.

I see the points that you and Bunk X are trying to make. I don’t know Bunk X’s friends but I would believe that those of Islamic faith who are committed to the freedom’s of a Western way of life and have integrated into our societies, have done away with the “jihad factor.”
Its those who have no desire to acclimate, that I worry the most about.
Rodan, I agree about the boredom with LGF. However, I think new banneditos may want to vent a little. Anyway, what I really wanted to just add here, is that the ubiquitous “hit the tip jar” button that has appeared on all the threads lately has been changed to “donate.” Hmmmmm.

re: #113 by Iron Fist
This is definitely part of the culture.
Egypt (in a cold peace with Israel) has had a 41 part mini-series based on “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” showing for years and it’s been all over the Middle East, including in Iran.
State run newspapers in these cultures have political cartoons showing evil hooked nose Jews who are described as the sons of pigs and monkeys.
It’s a big part of the culture.
Individuals should always be judged as individuals but when they spend their whole lives in this environment, it can’t be good.
re: #130 by Eliana
Did you see this, Eliana? What shocks is not only the absurdity of the blood libel but the fact readers of this Arab paper would find it credible.

re: #131 by Moe Katz
Excuse me, ARAB-AMERICAN (!!!) newspaper.
re: #132 by Moe Katz
Yeah – it’s a problem.
re: #130 by Eliana
We say “Judge them as individuals” and that is a mighty fine sentimate, but we simply cannot do that. We make general assumptions based on group characteristics. Should we judge individual members of, say, the Ku Klux Klan and try and see the good along with the evil, or do we say “He’s in the Klan, I know all I need to know to know he’s a bastard”? How is Islam different? Sure, there may be individuals who aren’t that dedicated a muslim, and so they don’t hold to the strictures of the Koran, but these people can hardly be seen as “devoute”.
Perhaps a better way of saying what I am trying to get across here is that devoute muslims and extremist muslims are the same group. Those who aren’t supporters of the Jihad (and not that I’m including giving to Mohammedan charities as support for the Jihad; there have been so many of them caught funnelling money into terrorist organizations that I don’t believe that one could give to any of them in good conscience) are not considered “devoute” by the majority of the Muslim community, and probably don’t consider themselves to be terribly devoute.
Rodan
I agree with you, I am getting sick of LGF discussions even though they were interesting and satisfying to see to confirmation of our worst fears being fulfilled right before our eyes…

re: #135 by Incognito
I like them but I would like to segregate them from the other threads. This way people could choose at all times which they wanted to discuss. The 1.0 drama continues, and I’m not ready to put it behind me altogether.
re: #130 by Eliana
Eliana– My point was that you cannot stereotype all people of arab descent, just as you cannot stereotype those of jewish descent. I’ve met good folks from both sides of that irrational ancient feud, and I’ve also met jerks as well, both arab and jew.
I read the “Protocols” before I knew about the background of the hoax. BUT, while I was reading them, it occurred to me that they could have been written about any other group of people, in any major religious or racial category, and some folks would believe the hyperbole.
In any case, I didn’t buy into it, and I told my respected elderly arab friend, who lent me his copy, why. He was stunned that I’d been able to see through the propaganda.
re: #134 by Iron Fist
I do see your point.
Among the “Palestinians,” as many as 80% of the civilians have supported suicide bombings as a tactical and strategic strategy against Israel.
I’m with you when it comes to the difficulty of trying to judge each person as an individual.
No one I know wants to hurt those 80% of the “Palestinians” who have wanted Jews to be murdered in suicide bombings (per their thoughts), but we do have to be honest with ourselves about what’s going on.
Not all cultures are the same. The Arab Muslim cultures are a problem even if every single individual isn’t a problem him- or herself.
We can’t ignore it.
re: #134 by Iron Fist
Dude, you’re comparing apples to assholes.

I’d agree with not having comments on selected threads about the North Korea emulating cult Little Green Footballs and the cult leader, Charles Johnson, and the groupie-cheerleader-brown nose-groveling in fear sycophants there….unless from a newly banned outcasts from the cult LGF. They’ve earned the right to speak out.
One daily thread should be for comments, quotes from or messages to the cult LGF. Let it run all day and be reffered to on other threads.
Move on, one step at a time.
re: #138 by Eliana
Where does that 80% figure come from? Honest question.
re: #139 by Bunk X
Both are sort of round, composed of eukaryotic cells, and begin with ‘a’.
re: #137 by Bunk X
I said nothing of arab decent. I said Mohammedans. Islam is a religio-political ideology. Its adherants come from many race/ethnic groups. They share some core doctrines no matter where in the world they came from. Those core doctrines include the subjucation of women and the supremacy of Islam as both the State Religion and the State law-giver.
re: #138 by Eliana
Please don’t get me wrong. I believe Israel deserves to exist, and has every right to defend herself. I support U.S. backing as well.
re: #141 by Bunk X
At the height of the last Intifada polls were showing that up to 80% of the Pals were supporting suicide bombing as a tactic. Unfortunately, Eliana is right. Probably only a minority support it now, but only because it didn’t work—there doesn’t seem to be any widespread questioning of the morality of it.
I think Eliana is multitasking
re: #143 by Iron Fist
Okay, I thought we were talking about followers of Islam. What is a “Mohammedan?”
I’ve got to go back to bed, and see if I can get some shut-eye. L8r…
re: #137 by Bunk X
“Irrational ancient feud?”
Please don’t let your desire to judge people as individuals work against you when it comes to understanding what’s going on in the Middle East.
There’s nothing irrational about fearing suicide bombers and building a fence to keep them out.
You want to judge each person as an individual and I do this myself (when I’m faced with one individual at a time).
When Israel is faced with a culture that sees Jews as the sons of pigs and monkeys while this other culture also believes that the absolute height of morality is to commit suicide while killing any possible Jew that one can find — it is TOTALLY RATIONAL to be engaging in tens of billions of shekels per year in self-defense.
This isn’t a silly squabble.
Jews in Israel don’t want to kill anyone (or convert anyone) who isn’t Jewish. Jews are in Israel to try to live.
You know all this!!!
I’m just reminding you not to put such a huge amount of weight on the idea of judging people as individuals that you lose sight of the picture overall.
re: #145 by Moe Katz
Moe, I was being a tad sarcastic. How reliable are the “Intifada Polls?” 80% sounds like a made-up number to me, and it’s a well known fact that 67.4% of all statistics are made up on the spot.
re: #141 by Bunk X
Polls taken in the “Palestinian” areas.
The numbers do go up and down (due to things going on at the current time), so they are regarded as good scientific polls with a margin of error of a few percent.
re: #148 by Iron Fist
Later dudeness. All in fun.
re: #147 by Bunk X
Mohammedan is the term for the followers of Mohammed. I’m surprized you’ve never heard it.
re: #150 by Bunk X
No, these were professional polls conducted on the Palestinian side. WTF do you know, impudent twit?
re: #150 by Bunk X
What I wrote was the phrase “UP TO 80%” (meaning that this is roughly as high as I’ve seen it, although it could have been 82% or 83% at times).
The number floats all over the place but it has been that high at times.
I’ve seen these polls (and their sources) myself.
It’s not a made-up number.
re: #149 by Eliana
Eliana– You’re misreading me. The animosity between the arabs and jews goes back centuries. Am I wrong?
re: #153 by Iron Fist
Isn’t that the same as followers of Islam? That’s what I was trying to clarify.
re: #155 by Eliana
The polling organization was based in Ramallah, IIRC.
re: #145 by Moe Katz
Absolutely right.
The argument is that it hasn’t helped the Pals or that it only gives Israel reasons to fight back.
There was a situation in around 2005 where a 16 or 17 year old boy was given a suicide bomb belt and he couldn’t make it to Israel so he blew himself up alone on his own side of the security fence.
His parents were LIVID that he was given a suicide bomb belt. They said that the terror group should have waited until the boy was 18 (and ALSO that the terror group should have waited until it was more likely that the boy could have made it into Israel).
They weren’t angry that their son had died. They were angry that he couldn’t take any Jews with him. They said that the bombing attempt should have been delayed until there was a better chance for the boy to make it inside Israel to blow up.
This is a cultural problem.
re: #155 by Eliana
Poll results depend upon the source and the way the questions are asked. The number seemed high, given that most of the folks in the region are just trying to make a living.
I dunno. Maybe I’m naive. I don’t trust much that comes out of al-jazeera et. al.
re: #156 by Bunk X
Yes, you are wrong. You are trying to see it as a two-sided quarrel, which it isn’t. There was no anti-Muslim violence from Jews in Palestine in the late 19th century and early 20th century. The conflict began with Muslim attacks on Jews for religious/nationalistic reasons. During the British Mandate up to 1948 the vast bulk of the violence was arab-on-Jewish; this is in the British colonial records and can be verified. It’s against the Muslim religion for a non Muslim political entity, no matter how small, to exist in Palestine. Palestine is supposed to be the domain of the Jerusalem Waqf, and all of it must be Sunni Muslim.
Well, I am another one that has drifted over here and have checked out Kirly’s blog of the banned as well. I never posted very much but surely did appreciate the lively debates and humor. It helped me to solidify my thoughts on a lot of different topics. It’s nice to see so many familiar names here (as well at Kirly’s). Kind of like running into old friends. I am still registered but under a different nic. Since I posted so rarely, you probably wouldn’t recognize it. I could probably flounce but anything I said would just be deleted. It has gotten to the point where I check the thread titles, decide that I am not interested – or get a little angry – and proceed to the link viewer. However, that’s not very good anymore. There used to be a lot of links listed from a great assortment of sources and now the variety is gone as well as the quantity. It’s sad. I am thinking about turning my LGF t-shirt into a dust rag.
re: #159 by Eliana
This is a cultural problem.
Yes, absolutely, and not one that can be changed overnight.
re: #162 by Jen06
Welcome! Good idea to keep your nic, you can spy on the Sooper Seekrit threads
This is the designated thread for LGF ’stalk talk,’ but we’ve been on that subject so much of the evening that we’ve moved on to the Middle East
re: #159 by Eliana
I’m not defending their actions, AT ALL.
But Iron Fist’s projection that all practitioners of islam are jihadists is just wrong. That’s where this conversation began, and as far as I’m concerned, it can end there as well.
re: #156 by Bunk X
Yes, you’re wrong in the way you seem to see it as a mutual animosity.
Jews lived as an oppressed minority in the Arab lands for 1400 years after Islam was founded until the founding of Israel when 900,000 Jews fled the Arab lands. 600,000 of these Jews immigrated to Israel.
The Jewish communities in the Arab lands for 1400 years after Islam started didn’t have the luxury of feeling animosity towards their Muslim overlords.
If a Jew held his hand over his face to protect it from Muslim spit, the hand was cut off as a punishment for “aggression.” So Jews let themselves be spit upon.
In Egypt, people used to talk about how Muslim children would throw little rocks at the Jews as they passed — so the Jews walked quickly.
It’s not peer-to-peer animosity when one group is just trying to stay alive while under the thumb of the other group.
When the 600,000 Jews from the Arab Muslim lands immigrated to Israel, they fell wildly in love with their new freedom. They didn’t care about the overlords they’d left behind (except for when the overlords sent armies to push them into the sea at various times).
See what I mean?
re: #162 by Jen06
Welcome, Jen06!
I know what you mean about the Link Viewer. It lasted as a good resource longer than LGF itself, but it’s falling down now too.
re: #164 by Moe Katz
Took me awhile to compose my post – by then everyone had moved on. *sigh* Wanted to chime in anyway. BTW – the secret threads aren’t anything special usually.
Oh – thanks for the welcome!
re: #166 by Eliana
Yes. Animosity was probably not the appropriate word.
On the other hand, my elderly friend, while visiting relatives, was harrassed at gunpoint, even though he’s an American citizen who converted to Christianity decades ago.
Please don’t take my words personally. Again, all I did was call out Iron Fist’s sterotypical view that all muslims are extremists.
re: #168 by Jen06
Ooh. Another eyeball into the sekrit world! Welcome!
re: #165 by Bunk X
Part of what I think he might have been talking about is that “Jihad” is more mainstream to devout followers of Islam than many of us may realize (even if 99.9% of the devout people as individuals aren’t personally involved in Jihad).
It’s mainstream in the devout Muslim culture, which is a problem.
re: #170 by Bunk X
I’m not taking what you’re saying personally!
We’re just talkin’ here.
In the CJ thread.
I guess some of us aren’t in the mood to talk about CJ in the CJ thread tonight.
re: #172 by Eliana
Word on the street is 10% pro-jihad, but what do I know. Same difference. A lot of idiots.
All polite, all the time. No offense meant. If someone takes offense here, I’ll get mandy to tell ‘em to piss up a rope, and have CJ tell them to get their own blog.
re: #168 by Jen06
If you do participate in a secret thread, you have to chime in. If you just watch, you’ll get banned for lurking.
re: #176 by Moe Katz
Any great flouncing news from the front?
re: #175 by Bunk X
Well, I wouldn’t want Mandy on my case.
As for CJ, “We already have our own blog!!!”
/Thumbs stretch my mouth out to the side while my fingers wiggle and I stick my tongue out. See Richard Dreyfus do this at Quint in “Jaws” for a visual.
re: #177 by Bunk X
Not sure. I think there may have been one observed today. I think he’s running out of old guard lizards.
It’s almost dangerous
I feel that if I dare disagree with something, it’ll all be over. That goes for down-dinging also. I am finding it hard to just quit completely, probably being sentimental but I don’t fit in.
re: #177 by Bunk X
He was at a record low for traffic yesterday, however: 10.6k visitors in US, 13.4k global.
re: #179 by Moe Katz
That was my take also… could be that the folk with the million socks are sitting it out for now.
re: #177 by Bunk X
We may have to start remembering Oldies but Goodies Flounces soon.
Josephine’s flounce was so good that I was afraid her appearance here soon afterward was a case of nic-nabbing.
Sheesh – it’s later than I thought! Heading to bed, glad to be here!
re: #180 by Jen06
You don’t have to walk on eggshells here. It’s all cordial (with a very few exceptions).
re: #180 by Jen06
That’s how it was for me,too, near the end. I eventually posted something to provoke my own banning, half hoping that I’d get the stick
re: #184 by Jen06
Goodnight, and again, welcome!
re: #184 by Jen06
Nice to have you here!!
Good night!
re: #178 by Eliana
Classic… true story, too.

If we have a flounce contest I nominate Josephine.
G’night y’all. I’m out as well.
re: #190 by Moe Katz
Snork got my vote already. Josephine 2nd.
re: #192 by Bunk X
Snork was the one who had the four page flounce, right?
It’s definitely an all-time classic!!
re: #192 by Bunk X
I claim honorable mention for mine. My entire message consisted of, “Ah, for the days when we were all united” with a link to this old LGF post:
http://web.archive.org/web/20030830151111/http://www.littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=3799
so what other topics are we all going to be politly asked not to discuss on this democratic blog, what happened to if it dont interest you then dont get involved.
i hate football and cooking, but i dont be grudge people talking about those subjects.
how will it be enforced, are people going to be banned for talking about cj, or their comment deleted.
just my opinion but this is a bad direction for the blog to take.
Layla tov, Eliana. Lehit.
re: #195 by justin case
We’re going to try confining it to designated threads, that’s all. Some people are tiring of it. Enforcement is voluntary.
re: #197 by Moe Katz
ok but some people can only post at certain times, what if during that time its a no cj thread and they want to talk about cj.
thats their freedom of choice shot to pieces.
re: #195 by justin case
No enforcement!
I think most of us are getting past the old days because it’s so much fun to be here!
re: #196 by Moe Katz
Good night, Moe!
re: #198 by justin case
It’s gonna happen, then.
It’ll be ok.
re: #198 by justin case
I see the problem and have mentioned it. I think the LGF threads will have to be continued for 24 hrs, until replaced. It’s completely voluntary, but some people really are getting tired of too much LGF focus. It’s hard to please everybody. We get some people from other ex-lizard blogs coming here because you CAN talk about it. Maybe we’ll lose some to those other blogs where it’s verboten.
re: #202 by Moe Katz
we really need a poll to judge the percentages in favor or against any censorship here.
are we hurting the many to please a few, or is it the other way round.
re: #135 by Incognito
What is this concern for emotional and spiritual health by discarding mention of lgf?
1. If Charles and his supporters read this site, it is a good place to argue with his positions. Some posters like to be rude, or vent, and that is more grist to the mill. I like the exposes of his “thinking”.
2. His behavior is fascinating. I am still trying to understand it.
3. The whole psychology of the pseudonymous world of blogs is fascinating.
4. The inter-play between the two sites is better than a soap opera.
5. Snork and others are doing a great service in picking out the noteworthy posts so that others don’t have to.
C2 is very dull. There is an unmentionable gorilla in the room.
Please do not decide to be above it all, and move on. I have no emotional or spiritual healing to do, but an enormous appetite for folly to feed.
re: #204 by Overlook
Yeah!
“Web Theater” is my favorite term for it.
CJ talks about us and we have people quoting him over here while we guffaw our guts out.
re: #205 by Eliana
agree totally, at the end of the day its bloody good fun.
Snork and others also have highly entertaining blow by blow descriptions of what goes on over there, too.
“Color commentary” is the term, I think.
It’s far more fun to watch it here than it would be to go over there to watch it.
re: #176 by Moe Katz
Is this true? This is the sort of gem that I thirst for. It is crackers for a blog site owner to set up the technology to follow “lurkers” and ban them if they do not chime in. Absolutely crackers.
re: #206 by justin case
One night — last week, I guess — we were all in stitches over the quotes and the color commentary about what was going on over there. We all stuck around until the thread over there seemed to go dead.
It was better than television.
re: #206 by justin case
What we have to do is get the Brits to start their own Blog.
re: #210 by Possum
lots of those about, who wants to talk about gordon cyclops brown all the time.
It still cracks me up that the photo at the beginning of this thread has alternate text that says, “timeout” –
Very cute touch!
re: #211 by justin case
“gordon cyclops brown?”
He doesn’t seem to be having as much fun being PM as he thought he would, eh?
re: #211 by justin case
Yeah, I know… and who the fluck is the leader of the “opposition” now anyway?
however, I do miss Indian food, and mushy peas.
re: #214 by Possum
I noticed a disgruntled former lgf poster on Melanie Phillips blog last week.
And Salamantis – if it is the same one – was quoted by Alex Massie.
Is Salamantis a big cheese over at 1.00?
re: #215 by Overlook
I have heard of salamantis, but never really seen it posting
re: #213 by Eliana
No. He is miserable. The country hates him. But he feels he must continue to do his duty. He cannot desert the nation now in its darkest hour.
Delusional.
re: #215 by Overlook
A stinky cheese.
He doesn’t post often, but when he does, he is anti-religion enough to make CJ look like a member of the clergy.
He doesn’t post often, but when he does, he is anti-religion enough to make CJ look like a member of the clergy…

Out of the shower and waiting for my hair to dry. Salamantis is a bloviating idiot savant.

re: #208 by Overlook
He’s paranoid. His secret threads, accessible only to those registered, are full of his rants received with obsequious murmurs of support from the faithful. Not a few have compared these scenes to Hitler in the bunker.
Off Topic…. but,
I think we should have a “Caption This” thread tomorrow with a gay, don’t ask don’t tell sort of theme.
Yesterday there was a massive “Gay rights” rally in D.C.
“”The National Equality March coincided with National Coming Out Day, and came a day after President Obama delivered a supportive speech to the nation’s largest gay and lesbian rights group.”"
I nominate this photo….

Marvelous post. We’re trying to voluntarily segregate the ’stalk talk’ to specific threads out of consideration for those who are tired of it, that’s all. Your analysis of C2 is right on the mark.
re: #224 by Moe Katz
Thank you – and thank you all for your responses about Salamantis.
Time for me to go to bed, but I shall definitely check in tomorrow.
Keep the powder dry.
re: #224 by Moe Katz
I think we are doing quite a good job of interleaving topics on threads here. Even on this thread we have several different “threadlets” going.
However. What LGF is now, and what this place is is NOT what a “Blog” is or should be.
The Blogsphere has turned into a chatroom/forumsphere.
Without being critical…
The Blogromacrasy would do better looking towards a vbullitin type forum structure.
re: #226 by Possum
I think LGF developed as a cross between a blog and a chatroom. Perhaps Charles developed something novel and worthy that way, I don’t know. In any case, I’d like to leave this place the way it is for now, following as closely as possible the original LGF format and traditions, which works well for me and for others transitioning from LGF. What we have here is all that was good about LGF without Charles and his minions, and that’s just fine for me.
Morning everybody
re: #228 by Rightside
‘Morning, rightside!
re: #227 by Moe Katz
Yes, I agree with you, for now this format works. You notice how the sports threads stay on topic!
however… because of the history this site is the number one bounce site of the banned. This is the place where the banned go to re-link with friends.
We had a problem a while ago where registration was broken and I think many of the banned at that time got lost.
Think of this as a half way house… a clearing house…. a focal point of the newly banned.
Some then move on, many stay here.
“”Perhaps Charles developed something novel and worthy that way”" No, not really…. even gardening forums turn into chat rooms after a while. Trust me on this!
re: #229 by Eliana
I was looking at that story over at hotair about Rush in his bid to be part owner of the rams, and those on EPSN wanting him not to be, simply because of his beliefs.
re: #231 by Rightside
The irony of these stupid objections to Rush Limbaugh being part owner of an NFL team is that conservatives are more likely to follow pro football than liberals.
Libs see football as being too violent (and too male).
Not all libs, of course, but the noisy ones.
re: #232 by Eliana
There was a story some time ago (sorry I can’t find a link for it) that was a table listing all the political donations made by owners, the NFLPA, etc.
There were a few mostly-left donations, some down the middle, but a lot were to conservatives/republicans.
I was a bit surprised.
In the conservative home where I live right now, there were two TVs on with one having “picture in a picture” going on so that people could catch the end of the Broncos/Patriots game in overtime while seeing the entire highlights of Week 5 before the evening game started.
We may have made some rude gestures towards the TV when Keith Olbermann’s mug showed up on it, but we didn’t flip out.
The Broncos won. They’re still undefeated.
Actually, I wasn’t watching all this myself because I was busy doing stuff in another room.
Runners from the living room were letting me know how things were going, though.
Geetings & salutations, & what up y’all?

re: #244 by RIX
Ah!
Several years ago, I went through a period for two years where I woke up about 5 minutes before my alarm so consistently that I stopped using an alarm. I woke up perfectly for two years without needing one.
Then suddenly — it stopped. Now I have an alarm that sounds similar to a jack hammer breaking up a sidewalk.
re: #245 by Eliana
Five minutes before the alarm would be a good thing,
Hey today is Columbus Day!
Or as ‘Progressives” like to think of it as the beginning of the rape of the land, the domination of Native Americans & the seeds of Monday Night Football.
re: #246 by RIX
Google won’t be putting up a special logo for it, then.
Nancy Pelosi is proposing a National Sales Tax.
No, not as a replacement for the confiscatory Income Tax , but as a new additional tax.
They raid the Treasury & now want to punish the taxpayer.
re: #247 by Eliana
No doubt, however Icewesel will probably post an homage to White racist, eurocentric males.
re: #248 by RIX
FoxNews online is reporting that a big part of the Republican strategy for 2010 will be to link Dems with the much-hated Nancy Pelosi.
If she tries to get a National Sales Tax going, this plan will become even more prominent than it is now in GOP strategies.
re: #250 by Eliana
Linking the Dems with Pelosi seems fair to me.
She is the Speaker of the House & you don’t hear Democrat repudiation of her.
re: #251 by RIX
Check out this video (with sound effects) for the much-hated Pelosi’s reaction to “You lie!”
Pelosi’s Reaction to “YOU LIE!”
re: #221 by justin case
The worst part about Broon is that he thinks he’s right. He’s not like Blair, who was an opportunist and knew he was lying – Brown actually believes he’s doing the right thing and when he’s caught in a lie, his reaction is “I wasn’t lying, I told the truth!”
You know where you stand with someone who is honestly dishonest. It’s the deluded twits who believe what they spout that cause problems.

Just a quick hello from one of the unbanned.
I started reading LGF not long after 9/11. Registered early on. Never posted much but checked it daily. Stopped reading when the creationist crap started crowding out the useful jihadi posts. Went back to see what the hell was going on when I read about the bannings.
In other words, the standard story for probably a thousand former casual but devoted readers.
I haven’t logged into my account in well over a year and a half so I am going to try to keep it active. (For all I know it may have been purged already, but I’m not going to try to log in to find out. But my IP has not been blocked.)
I thought about “flouncing” but what’s the point? Even if you make a good point in your final post, Johnless Narc Ho won’t consider it, and it will be deleted before anybody else sees it. Plus, he obviously is getting some kind of perverse pleasure out of banning former friends and fans, and I’m not about to feed that obsession.
So I know that this has been beaten to death and most people are getting sick of the topic, but I still would like to know, someday, what happened. He either made a cold-blooded business decision, or he’s got some serious emotional issues. His repetitive declarations that “I’m not hurt” and “It doesn’t hurt a bit” makes me tend toward the latter. It’s like he’s living the lyrics to “I am a Rock”.
Shielded in his armour, hiding in his room.
He is an island. And an island never cries.

I don’t think we will ever get an official reason “Why?”.
re: #305 by tommy torquemada
Welcome aboard though.
re: #305 by tommy torquemada
I picture a “duran duran” character sitting in his chair, pony tail flapping as he madly types. With the throbbing memo on a projection TV all over the wall.
madly typing away.
re: #296 by Number6
To my shame I have read precious little from him. I really should find time to go through his books (among others).

“Eliana– You’re misreading me. The animosity between the arabs and jews goes back centuries. Am I wrong?”
Yes you are wrong. The animosity is one way – the Arabs want to kill the Jews and the Jews want to either live in peace with them or be left alone. This is not the Hatfield’s and the McCoy’s. When Arab leaders (Sadat and King Hussein) decided to end the war, Israel responded generously. And yes I’ve seen polls form 2002 -03 in which vast majorities of the Palis supported suicide bombing as a tactic against israeli Jews. Eliana writes the truth!!!

re: #137 by Bunk X
Sorry I missed this discussion and know you are not here, but I must respond.Ahh, but the protocols were NOT written about any other group, they were written to libel the Jew,no one else and your moral relativity is just wrong.I would be curious to hear what your elderly Arab friend thinks of the protocols and Mein Kampf since they remain best sellers in the Muslim world to this day.
Also, check these cartoons out which flood Islamic “newspapers” on a daily basis year after year. If the “Muslim Street” is overall tolerant why do they not protest such scurrilous lies? I already know the answer, do you?

So, it is a chog, or a blatroom?

More like a roadside rest stop where you write deep thoughts on the bathroom stall door.

Over 500 bannings in September.
re: #137 by Bunk X
re: #313 by vagabond trader
Bunk X has hit on the essential truth about the Protocols, which is that it is not about the Jews.
At least, not structurally. Its present antiSemitism was edited in.
It was originally a long caustic satire, purporting to be an update of Macchiavelli, against Napoleon III.
It’s as if someone took the Screwtape Letters and replaced Screwtape with “Herschel” and Wormwood with “Irving”.
re: #227 by Moe Katz
LGF is more of a chat room where when you speak your mind you get shown the door.
re: #317 by Speranza
Would the totality of banned lizards reach genocide? Reptilocide? I’m sure there’s a tastier name for it. 500 in September alone is pretty staggering.
re: #183 by Eliana
Nope, Eliana, it’s really me.

Yowza! Thanks, Moe and Bunk!

It is of Stalinist (1937-38) proportions.

re: #320 by ladycatnip
over 100 for October now too. sheesh!
re: #325 by Kirly
We can play the game “Name the conservatives left at LGF” – the number would fit on two hands with several fingers left.
re: #325 by Kirly
Three weeks left to go in October. Shall we make wagers?
Of course, there’s probably no one left to ban.
Let’s see so far today – threads bashing tea partiers, Rush Limbaugh and Pam Geller. How predictable!
re: #318 by Zimriel
What a crock. Sorry not to measure up to your deep thinking of the issue, but from where I sit the title includes the word ZION, which most assuredly refers to Jews and no one else. It is of no importance what the original intent was, it has been and will forevermore be recognized and used as a screed against Jews.

I’m not sure what we’re arguing about.
Antisemites took Joly’s “Dialogues in Hell” and rewrote it. Joly’s book had nothing to do with Zion or Jews. It’s antisemitic NOW because it was… rewritten. By assholes.
As Bunk X points out the Protocols could be rewritten again to refer to, say, Armenians. Even as a forgery Protocols doesn’t make its case, except to the gullible.
As part of his role in the organization, he produces Focus on the Family, a daily radio program which according to the organization is broadcast in more than a dozen languages and on over 7,000 stations worldwide, and heard daily by more than 220 million people in 164 countries.[3][1] Focus on the Family is also carried by about sixty U.S. television stations daily.
220 million people in 164 countries.
And he has more moral character, class, brains and honor in his little pinky toe than Charles has ever had in his existence.
There’s a reason for the immense following, chuck. Like there’s a reason for the immense exodus from your site.

So I’ve noticed myself….
Gee, is he desperate for new users or what? lol
And funny, he just now introduced a 50 post minimum for dinging others posts. The echo in the echo-chamber becomes louder…
I guess everyone knows that Buzzsawmonkey got banned today?
