Dennis Moore (D-KS3) Calls Disabled Marine “White Trash”

We all know that the Democrats want a classless society, but I didn’t realise that this was what they meant,

Speaking to a respected Hispanic leader in KCK, Dennis Moore reportedly called decorated and disabled Marine Veteran and Congressional Opponent “White Trash” in a recent (recorded) telephone conversation. The KCK leader, who has formally supported the incumbent congressman, is supporting Daniel Gilyeat’s candidacy for the Kansas 3rd District Congressional seat. Dennis Moore called the KCK man after hearing the Hispanic community leader’s support had changed. Dennis Moore said he had $7 million for the campaign and could not believe the naturalized citizen was supporting “White Trash” over Moore.

Daniel Gilyeat is running against Moore in Kansas and was serving his second term in Iraq when he lost his leg to an IED. “I lost my leg but found my voice,” Gilyeat said to a crowd Saturday at the Veteran’s memorial. Gilyeat did not comment about Moore’s description of him other than to smile and say he had heard of the comment from the man Moore was speaking to.

“Moore’s comment has serious implications,” Theresa Benefield, owner Sequoia Logistics LLC, said. “Dennis Moore is telling Hispanics they owe him their votes by bringing up the threat of $7 million. He is telling all 3rd District voters he will buy the election.” Benefield said she wondered where he was getting his money. “It is not in his FEC reports, but then again, Rangle, Franks, and now Moore have trouble reporting what is and is not theirs. That is a lot of money from someone who places his worth at just under $1 million. For a job that pays over $200,000, one might speculate on why a congressman would spend more on running in the 3rd District than he has brought into the district over the past two years, she said.

“Calling anyone white trash is unwarranted, but is  unconscionable when directed toward any minority. Evidently, minorities and middle class white people have to keep in their place around representatives like Moore and Pelosi,” she said.

Speaking with several Hispanic Americans about Moore’s comment, they each were outraged the representative would result to name calling, especially to a decorated Veteran who grew up in a largely minority neighborhood in Kansas City, Kansas.

Want to know how Democrats really feel about our men and women in the Armed Forces?  There you have it.  In a sense, this “impropriety” on Moore’s part is simply a less sophisticated version of John Kerry’s infamous implication back in 2004 that people who serve in the military do so because they are too dumb to be able to do anything else.

Interesting, however, is the fact that Moore’s $7 million swagbag doesn’t show up on his FEC reports, which are, as we all know, required by law.  But then again, we all know that laws only apply to the little people.  Nevertheless, I’d like to find out where that money came from, too.

It sounds like Danny embodies the evil trifecta for Progressives: a white Christian veteran.

I didn’t know Daniel Gilyeat and his family had a Extreme Home Makeover. Sounds like his personal life got pretty messy. Hope he can defeat Moore.

Since the liberals are not held accountable for their actions and words, they have gotten away with crap like this for decades. So many people blindly follow them because it is cool and hip to be so “progressive”. The Dems have convinced the minorities that they are representing them, but in reality, they keep them down and under control. It is amazing how the liberals have been able to keep this farce up for so long.

    As Nancy would/will write/type:

The rabid right is in outrageous outrage mode just because some fine, moderate Democrat alleged called a disabled Marine vet “white trash.” I’m getting very tired of the LoonyReichWing (LRW) feigned outrage every time some moderate progressive calls them on their racism and Climate Change denial. As if enticing poor, suffering minorities away from the Party of Truth, Justice and gummy bears raining from the sky wasn’t bad enough, now they are posting pictures of knifes on their blogs and scaring the children.

I wouldn’t get too excited yet, Moore was DA in my county and Kansas Attorney General. It would be really out of character for him to get caught saying anything like that. If he did I hope it is recorded. We have been suffering with him for a number of years. The Democrats have been the anti-miltary and anti-patriotism party since the early 1970s.

John McCain, honorable citizen, based on political philosphy, should have been a Democrat, but as a Viet Nam POW, by the late 1970s, he had no choice as a patriot but become a Republican.

There is a reason he is close to Leibermann. Joe is the last of the patriotic Democrats, and hasn’t quite figured out the part of Pelosi and Obama hate America.

McCain, for our sake, and his, should retire.

Nancy is now defending the indoctrination of children:

    Anatomy of an Outrageous Outrage
Blogosphere | Sun, Oct 11, 2009 at 2:11:26 pm PDT

You may recall a recent right wing blogosphere freak-out session led by Michelle Malkin, about a video of some kids at Bernice Young elementary school singing a song praising President Obama.

The video was seized upon by Fox News, Glenn Beck, and even RNC chairman Michael Steele as an example of the “indoctrination” of school children into hordes of robotic commie Obama-loving drones — despite the fact that the song performed by the children was a school project created by the children themselves.

Wow. Of course, the “man” who is too much of a coward to come out of his basement to debate those he slanders in a venue he doesn’t control is all in favor of brainwashing defenseless children. What could be more progressive?

Sorry, if this has been posted on another thread.

Kansas, I hope you’re right. By the way, I moved to Kansas about two years ago. So, how in blazes did red state Kansas ever elect a progressive-fascist-ecoNazi as governor?

In a sense, this “impropriety” on Moore’s part is simply a less sophisticated version of John Kerry’s infamous implication back in 2004 that people who serve in the military do so because they are too dumb to be able to do anything else.

We know how they see the military. Clinton said it pretty directly when he said he loathed the military. But Clinton was just being honest (a true feat for him). Other Democrats have enlightened us further. There’s John Kerry, who lied to congress about his conduct and the conduct of other soldiers in Viet Nam (either Kerry was lying to congress or he is a war criminal. I lean toward the lying to congress, but it is also possible that both are true), Murtha who slandered Marines, Kennedy (went nuts over Abu Grabass), etc. But the real rotten cherry on this loathsome sundae is Senator Dick Durbin (D-al Qaeda). He went on the floor of the Senate and delivered al Qaeda’s talking points practically verbatim. If he’d had his points dictated to him by Osama bin Laden he could have hardly served al Qaeda’s purposes more. Hell, if he’d slapoped on a bomb vest and blown himself to kill American soldiers, he could hardly have helped al Qaeda more. Suicide bombers are a dime a dozen for al Qaeda, but there are very few US Senaotors in their stable.

I hope the fucker loses his seat, but I’m not counting on it. Treason ain’t that big a deal anymore.

You know, a 180 degree turn as astonishing as CJ’s (but one with much greater consequences) was done by Senator James Webb.

That one is hard to figure: USMC officer, (legitimately) decorated Vietnam vet, Secretary of the Navy under Reagan and author of a history of the Scotch-Irish, “Born Fighting.”

How can Webb stand the stench on his side of the aisle? He still defends the Vietnam War – and he’s on the same side as Pelosi, who represents those who spat on his fellow Marines.
Webb has proudly referred to himself as “white trash” – and now identifies with the party who hate and despise his people.

I can’t figure that one out, except to wonder if too many years in spent in DC will eventually corrupt even a Marine Corp officer.

As I understand it, Webb became increasingly enraged by the Bush administration’s handling of the Iraq war, which he saw (erroneously, I think) as identical to LBJ’s and the Best and the Brightest’s handling of the Vietnam War. He (Webb) came to the conclusion that it would end in ignominy as did Vietnam in 1975. He ran as a Democrat as a sort of protest against what he saw as another long, drawn out unending war that the Americn people were being turned against.

I believe his logic was faulty, to say the least, and his run for the Senate occurred before the surge. I think there were also a few personal animosities between Webb and some of the policymakers in the Bush Administration.

I don’t think insulting people that we still consider friends is really the right strategy for getting them to join us.

I find myself in a “funny” position here, w.r.t. 1.0. I took about a year’s hiatus from 1.0 in 2007-2008 because even back then, I could see that selrahC was starting to veer into lunatic territory. I came back to 1.0 sometime in July of 2008, and asked the following,

“I’ve been gone from LGF for a while, so I have to ask….when did Charles turn into such a raving whackjob?”

I only remember all this because nodroG conveniently reports the whole thing at his now-defunct LGF Banned and Blocked. (BTW, I’m not the other “Cincinnatus” – I don’t even like Europe….)

You might say I was, to misquote Barbara Mandrell, flouncing when flouncing wasn’t cool.

As a result of all this, I never really became acquainted with the “new” crop of Lizards. Most of the old people I knew are either over here (Iron Fist, etc.) or are gone entirely (bigel, etc.), or at least I don’t know where they are.

I find myself being in the position of being free to insult the Loozards left over at 1.0, yet not really caring much to do so, since I don’t have much emotional capital invested in them, and the things that DO seem to be prominent over there (Sharmuta, Killgore Trout, etc.) I sort of look upon with the disdain one would have from reading about ugly people without ever meeting any.

I want a Cabinet-level position if he wins. Secretary of War would be nice. Get rid of the State Department altogether and replace it with the Department of War. Send a clear message to anyone who is paying attention that you’d best not fuck with America. First thing I’d do would be to bring back nuclear testing. Our arsenal has been sitting around doing nothing for the last twenty years. Radioactives decay. That is the very nature of them. We need to be confident that our aging weapons will still fire it up and produce the desired yield. Computer models can only do so much. Every once and a while you need to verify the model against the real thing just to be sure that something that you didn’t figure on in your calculations hasn’t changed the predicted results.

Nah. He wrote some graphic scenes for a novel about Vietnam. Guys I knew who served in Southeast Asia told me similiar stories about the child sex trade in that part of the world, stuff to make your stomach turn. (Which is why I don’t believe the French Minister of Culture when he says he didn’t mess with kids in Thailand. Messing with kids is the whole reason Westerners go there. They can find consenting adults at home.)

Webb was writing a realistic novel for adults and so he included explicit sex scenes. I’m much more worried about guys who want to teach “Queer Theory” to grade school kids.

I’ve been saying for a long time that the reason Giuliani seemed so disinterested in pursuing his campaign was because he knew he didn’t stand a chance of getting the nomination. The theocrats were aligned against him, and he knew it.

There’s a program called “Any DVD Converter (Professional)” that is pretty good. It makes movie files suitable for iPod/iTouch/iPhone use.

Converter programs take awhile because they run the movie at a fast speed and then convert what they have captured into a file.

Yeah, it is working. That is why Charles attacks it so. The same thing is true of Glen Beck, and most of the other issues he is obscessing about. Like the Left to whiich he now belongs always does, he is quick to slander people with cries of “Racist!” and “White Supremacist!”, but when you actually do some research, you find it ain’t nothing but piss and wind. Now, I don’t know that Robert Stacey McCain isn’t a racist, but I know that I haven’t seen any iron-clad evidence that he is. Charles has a number of quotes that are perported to be from McCian, but they aren’t sourced, and searches on them all point back to LGF as the originator of the smear.

That isn’t very credible, especially after Kilgor’s adventures in White Supremacy at Hot Air. It is the art of the big lie. Any charge that isn’t noticed and attacked vehemently from the outset is taken as proven fact, when the reality is dude wasn’t even aware of what was being said until after it had been disseminated. That isn’t exactly honest debate.

Yeah, it is working. That is why Charles attacks it so. The same thing is true of Glen Beck, and most of the other issues he is obscessing about.

Like other liberals, CJ celebrates (with new threads even) when an announcement is made about additional advertisers that are refusing to put their ads on Glenn Beck’s program. (Not refusing to put them on FoxNews, but just on Beck’s program.)

What none of the liberals (including CJ) mention is that his ratings have been souring while all this has been going on. Beck has turned 5:00pm into a hot ratings slot (except that it’s only hot because he’s in it).

Apparently, his 2:00am repeat slot is also turning into a hot ratings spot (again, because he’s in it).

Liberals think they are hurting Beck but what they’re really doing is helping to put him more strongly on the map than he’s ever been up to now.

Teacake, are you trying to compress the video for streaming on the web? You would want to use MPEG4 for that, not 1 or 2. 4 is much better quality. 1 and 2 are old formats.

4 should also let you do sort of a multiple compression, so you can create one lowbandwidth version for dialup peeps, and higher bandwidth versions for people on DSL and Cable.

Just like the movie trailers on the apple quicktime site.

I used to be in the digital vid industry but I have been out of it for about 4 years. MPEG4 was just coming on line when I got out. Someone makes an MPEG4 compression accelerator for the Mac that is a sort of little USB dongle type gizmo that I saw recently.

Well, it doesn’t seem to have mpg 4 unless I’m so tired that I’m not seeing it. The files in QT are a version of 4 but just way too many errors loading it to wordpress. The only way to change it was to do an export but that took forever and the quality was really bad. This seems to be okay. I’ll load a few and have some friends report back to the quality. I’m looking for speed mostly at this point – experimenting with an ebay project. Instead of selling the disks, see if for cheap they want to view them online. (haircutting techniques) LOL

And they can’t even refute anything he says.

But they can’t point out many errors in anything he presents. Trust me. If they could, it’s all you would hear about.

    Agreed!

It’s amazing to me that last year, I barely knew who he was. The only thing I’d heard about him was the song he’d gotten recorded as Obama’s national anthem (as sung to the tune of the Soviet Union’s old national anthem):

I agree. One only has to look to the victims of the rage of the left to see who is being most effective in the debate. I would ask, what has James Dobson said lately that raised the ire of Rock Ridge Johnson? Palin is another example of the lefts attempt to disparage another fine American. Glenn Beck is another fine example, as you noted, that is on the receiving end of the progressive malfeasance. RNC chief Steele is another.

I’ve been saying for a long time that the reason Giuliani seemed so disinterested in pursuing his campaign was because he knew he didn’t stand a chance of getting the nomination. The theocrats were aligned against him, and he knew it.

Wow, just wow. Now we know why the Stupid Party can’t help itself in nominating the most useless bunch of squishies in human history: Bush I; Bush II; John McCain; good old Bob Dole; and Tricky Dick.

Reagan and Goldwater were exceptions to the rule that the GOP nominates RINOs for the top of the ticket. Giuliani or Thompson would have been much better than McCain. Either would have had a much better chance of beating Teh Won. But nooooooo, the Stupid Party, true to form, nominates the worst possible candidate. The GOP’s primary process is seriously broken.

What’s really interesting is the CJ and others at 1.0 seem to think it’s a new phenomenon that conservative Christians are a force to be reckoned with in the GOP.

I was in Dallas during the Republican convention in 1984 and the largest coalition I saw in a parade leading up to the convention center were the Moral Majority or whatever they were calling themselves. (disclaimer: I wasn’t attending the convention but was at a Rock Against Reagan concert just down the street from the convention.) Anyway, it always struck me as odd that Charles felt the religious right were invading the Republican party when they’ve always been there. At least as far as I can tell.

I love the fact that he’s personally insulted when some posit their view that some scientists are more susceptible to the research dollar than others and may produce skewed results to get the cash.

He cracks me up. He literally thinks if we don’t address so-called climate change that all other of mankind’s concerns will be dwarfed in the not-to-distant future. Catastrophe upon catastrophe will visit this planet in his opinion.

Most greenies fall into the overly anthropomorphic category.

I think it’s a dangerous phenomenon that’s been allowed to grow and is even fostered as our culture increasingly develops a guilt complex for being the dominant species on the planet and the top of the food chain.

My read is that von Quacksalot is a student, and not a top one at that, but it is possible for really smart people to buy into dumb ideas. Energy secretary Chu is a Nobel prize winning physicist, which actually means something. And he’s stark-raving moonbatty. But so was Shockley, and he was a full-out racialist. If it’s not precisely your field, the possibility of crackpottery exists.

    Another example: Linus Pauling.

But von Quacksalot, in my estimation, is a blowhard.

Well, I shouldn’t be making comments here tonight for one thing. A client of mine needs some things from me tomorrow so I should be working. And yet, here I am!

(I’ll get up early and get some work done…. yeah, that’s the ticket!)

Today is your friday? I need that schedule!

Hannity just repeats RNC talking points. He’s just a party hack.

I agree with your opinion of Sir Quacks-A-Lot. He is also really easy to get worked up in a lather. Which to me, undermines his “scientific” credentials.

    I agree.

OT, I did see an interesting tidbit on drudge the other day about the Rams and Rush Limbaugh…anyone heard about this?

Rush has talked about this on his show but I only heard the beginning of it and did not listen to the details.

I listened to him on the way to work for about a week last year, and one day he pretended to be less conservative and for bipartisanship for one hour on his radio show. John McCain was at the time, if memory serves me correct, doing his absolute best to lose the election and turn into a mass of purple bipartisan goo.(I know, that was mostly ALL the time, but you get my point)

Anyway, Hannity was selling it and selling it good, going on about how, as Conservatives, we need to reach across the aisle more and accept our new global reality.

He then let people call in and it was pretty awe inspiring the pride and patriotism that exploded out from the end of the line.

I don’t really like the Hannity show on Fox, and don’t listen regularly to his radio show. But since then, I’ve had a great deal of respect for his opinion, even if he does follow the party line often.

I wrote a letter to the NFLPA! It’s on the NFL thread towards the beginning.

The NFLPA is against the move.

    Late again.

You made a seriously good point about the primaries. Super Tuesday came an entire month before my state’s primary and McCain had already won the nomination. I saw some great ideas on HotAir about how to set up a fairer primary system by weighting the votes nearly equally among states in 3 successive weeks. But I have to wonder if the RNC listens to ideas like that. Watching it last year was enough to make a conspiracy theorist out of anyone.

LGF used to be the victim of the same guilt by association/cherrypicking/character assination that Charles (and psychophants) are using against people like Robert Spencer (who used to be a friend of Charles) and and Robert Stacey McCain (I don’t think any of us had heard of him until Charles introduced him as the Grand Cyclops WizardDragon of the Ku Klux Klan).

Times change and aliances drift. In Charles’ move Left and alienation of his friends, he is mirroring a drift in our country. America is still a Center Right country. The Dems didn’t win the House, Senate, and President by promising to tax our asses off. MAny of the successful Dems in 2006 and 2008 are Conservative DINOs who have centerist views on issues like gun control (though undoubtably still lock-step on abortion as the most sacred right ever), and Obama’s appeal was partly (mostly, IMHO) due to the fact he wasn’t Bush. The Democrats could have run as eggplant last year and beaten John McCain.
