Lately, Charles Johnson of LGF has been calling anyone who opposes Obama a racist. This is ludicrous and intellectually dishonest. The whole talking point was started by Fidel Castro and repeated by the Progressive Machine. Obviously, Charles is repeating Leftist talking points now. He has lately smeared Robert S. McCain as a racist, whi9ch is a lie. McCain nails Charles and raises an interesting question, is Charles projecting his Racism onto others?
After reading about the dust-up, it occurred to me that Charles could be exposed as a hypocrite by using his own methods. CJ uses what I call a “Six Degrees of Extremism” (or Six Degrees of Racism/Euro Fascism, etc) political parlor game.
He condemns Robert Spencer for “associations” with “extremists”* and you for “connections” to white supremacists, yet he adds Daily Kos to his blogroll and approvingly links their posts, which contain the exact kind of material and links to people that CJ uses to excoriate his new targets.
Based on his own criteria, CJ himself is now a racist, white supremacist, anti-Semitic, neo-Nazi fascist. Here’s how:
DKos approvingly featured a video from the neo-Nazi website Vanguard News Network, gave detailed instructions on building a bomb and posted conspiracy-mongering Truther diaries, a presidential assassination fantasy as well as anti-Semitic and racist material. Markos Moulitsas is a business partner in Vaster Books with Jane Hamsher of Firedoglake, which DKos blogrolls and approvingly links.

The Race card is the left’s last weapon and CJ is using it. He sees racists everywhere. Maybe he should look in the mirror and realize, he’s a racist! He has targeted me by sending Irish Rose, Defenseman/Hoosier Hoops, Gus802, Dark Falcon and Honorary Yooper after me. He has not attacked other Admins like this. Is this a sign of his racism towards Hispanics? If not him then clearly the rest of his Minions are motivated by race. Why are they singling me out and not others?
The answer, using the logic of Charles Johnson and LGF is, that they are racists!
In all honesty, I hate the race card and it’s a weak weapon. I just like throwing the accusation back at the Left. They can dish it out, but they can’t take it.
On a side note: I took down my previous post because of complaints I have received. One of the complainers is someone I respect very much. I apologize to those that posted on it.
Charles should do us all a favor, he should just go away and retire!

I am a software engineer / technical writer while living in a recession. I have multiple Masters degrees so I’m working on a variety of projects (while being self-employed). It’s working out, but only because I have money in the bank. Otherwise, I would be sweating bullets since I’m going from one thing to another without having new gigs lined up very far in advance. It’s working out, though.
By the way, there is a good book that I heard awhile back called “The Power of Self-Coaching” by Joseph J. Luciani, PhD.
It helps people get off the floor if they’re beating themselves down with counter-productive talk in their heads. It’s not just a “say positive things to yourself” system but a way to keep people from jumping all over themselves (which can be a real problem for some). I found it on iTunes as an audio book and I think it’s neat. Just wanted to mention it since you are a psychologist. It helps people to change their self-destructive behavior more directly by acquiring better ways of doing things. (I heard it awhile back so I’m not doing justice to it.)

We must all have been labelled a racist at some time. If you speak to a leftist about Islamism or Obama it’s inevitable.
I sometimes wonder about the psychology of playing the race card. Is it played because they don’t have any real argument against what you are saying, or is it a cultural thing among leftists…a kind of kneejerk reaction to a different world view.
Young leftists live a cosseted existence. They go to left wing universities where they mix with other leftwing students, get taught by left wing professors and participate in left wing protests.
In such circles, any conventional, pragmatic or conservative viewpoint is routinely written off as “racist”. It’s easier to close down their thoughts, in this way, than to admit that they sort of agree or can see the logic in an opposing argument. It’s intellectual panic.
This, of course gets carried into the real world when they meet real conservatives for the first time. The panic increases because people can argue back. This is new and even more emotionally dangerous. The leftist will now seek to close down the person by describing them as a racist (or describing the country they support as racist).
Of course labeling everything you disagree with as “racist” trivializes genuine racism. It’s the leftist who cried wolf.
And even more bizarrely, a person can get away with flagrant racism as long as they themselves are provably far left – as long as their racism is within an attempt to further left wing policy.

Actually, I think that liberals are so enamored of their opinions and themselves for holding their “enlightened” views that they can’t imagine a universe where others could fail to see the infinite beauty and logic of liberalism.
So they decide that the only possible explanation for our unwillingness to agree with their point of view is for us to be either stupid or evil.

I think it was a stupid move, Iran’s nukes could hit anyone of those nations and that’s a legit reason for having them there. Looks like O is dropping his guard and weakening our nations resolve.
Mike Savage had an interesting take on the situation, he thinks Israel made a deal with Russia a long the lines of this reasoning, that if the US were to remove those defences would Russia give the green light for Israel to strike Iran. Keep in mind Iran could strike Russia with its nukes as well as Israel and other surrounding nations. I don’t see why Putin would want to have a crazy loose cannon like Iran with nukes.

Also a computer technician.
I spent a few years making zoning compliance reports for commercial mortgage companies.
Now I fix pda’s and wireless modems over the phone.
I had to stop due to the cost. I don’t qualify for grants and I’m still paying off the loans rom my first go, so I was paying out of pocket this last time. Some family health issues caused me to stop that so I could send money to the folks.
So one day, when they’re paid off, I’ll have to see what I can do.

Actually, there’s no such thing as race.
Racial features are inherited from our parents.
Things like eye color and height are inherited, too.
There are certainly differences in cultures and in societies around the world (and not all cultures are “good” ones, as we all know very well here.) Ethnic populations can have very some similarities (including things beyond looks) among each other for being born into a smaller gene pool.
However, the actual things we see that are called “racial features” are just the things we got from Mom and Dad.

I worked into it.
I worked for a lumberyard that sold cabinets and had a computer with a kitchen layout program to help with the layout and quoting process.
In the slow moments, I studied the cabinets and the options and the program. I got decent at it.
A few years later, I hired on for Home Depot and did kitchen design there.
Also did some freelance stuff, friends of friends kind of thing. I had a talent for making the process inexpensive.
But, as with being a computer tech, what I have is experience. What I DON’T have is a degree or certification. Even if I wanted to or thought I could make a living at it, there’s no way I could hire on to do it. (Especially not now with our economy)
I have loans to pay and if I don’t pay them, some of them go to someone else. I can’t have that.
So on the risk table, I have to side with ’safe’ until those loans are paid off.
I have a business I want to start, and I think it’d do well, but I can’t afford it. Too much risk right now for me to put someone else’s credit on the line.

Well, I don’t know. I do know that DNA can identify people’s ancestors down to specific geographical areas. It still sounds like a population gene pool to me (but I don’t defend this view with a lot of gusto or anything). It’s just my opinion.

I’ve stayed on the sidelines with regard to commenting and writing much on this case, as one or two things about it have set alarm bells ringing for me personally.
But my relatively minor concerns aside, I am astounded, Charles, knowing what you know, that you would have a clearly vulnerable Muslim minor and apostate (female at that) sent back to her family and mosque, to face almost certain death – whether that might be in her home or area; or after being shuttled off to Sri-Lanka to be finished with there.
Yes you are right – Muslim parents can be, and often are, good parents – but even if there is no threat from Rifqa’s (and, like the Florida Law enforcement people you can’t really know that for certain) – she is still at risk from the wider Muslim community.
Apostasy changes everything.
Who’s to say that the cheerleader photos weren’t framed up and put on display for the investigators after a pre-emptive CAIR briefing, for example?
Whatever you might say about ‘hyperventilating’ bloggers, apostasy does carry the death penalty in Islam – and you know this to be a fact.
It seems perverse to me that you would support such a move.

It is because I have always and consistently stood for human rights that I know Charles Johnson is anti-human rights. He banned me TWICE under two different screen names.

I agree. The Republicans want politics to be nice. Nices loses most of the time if your opponent doesn’t play nice as well. Thak campaign financing. McCain did the supposedly “right” thing to do, and took the public funds. obama had promised to do so as well, but renegged on that promise when the time came to put up or shut up. This let him out-raise and out-spend McCain by a factor of something like seven to one. That was a huge advantage that McCain just gave Obama for free. Because McCain, after doing the supposedly “right” thing, refused to make an issue of it when his opponent didn’t.
It is infuriating. The Republicans are the Stupid Party. There’s no getting away from that it seems. But the Democrats are the Evil Party, and I don’t expect that leopard to change his spots. I’ll take stupid over evil every day of the week that ends in “y”.

I can’t say I’m surprised that he started dropping N-bombs and ape references while claiming he was trying to expose racism. I think he was just reverting to his natural state.
Back in the early Tea Party days, the only source of information that he (and CJ) considered reliable was Stormfront. He seemed way too comfortable on that site. Reminded me of the diddlers who get caught with porn and claim “it’s for research”.
I never like to see people banned from sites, but Killgore is a waste of pixels everywhere he posts.

In many, if not most cases, the users who do this seem to be people who registered for no other reason than to try to promote extremism at LGF — they never comment themselves, and never post links.
I’m tired of this kind of namby-pamby subversion, so instead of simply banning those people when I see them, I’ve just finished writing the code to block ratings from people who either have posted no comments, or who haven’t posted anything in the last two months.
PS: I give LGF exactly one pageview per day — and that is on Spy. It continues to be the most entertaining look at sycophancy that I’ve ever found online.

Charles (and Sharmutta) have been pretty much downdinging every comment I made for the past few months. I also dared to downding Charles several times and was definitely on his special “ban-o-scope”.
I got banned trying to explain the silliness of calling Rush Limbaugh a racist. I have been listening to him regularly for the past 2yers and KNOW this man is definitely the opposite of a racist. Charles pulled the bone in nose quote out and I suggested that bringing up an incident that may not have happened as evidence of racism is silly. Further, even if the statement was made I didnt feel it was necessarily racist. It could have been one of those things someone says in the heat of an argument “take that bone out of your nose” when you are trying to say you are having primitive thoughts (join the 20th century) and only later realize that some people can interpret it another way. (heck, the caller caould have bben white for allw eknow of this supposed incident)
I then pointed out that in a similar vein, they are calling Joe Wilson a racist for saying “you lie” when what they heard is “you lie, boy”. THey are calling hi a racist for something he did not say.
