The thread for that

:)

Welcome to the Wednesday edition of the selrahC Follies! R.S. McCain replies (again) to the libel blogger, Charles Johnson.

Andrew Jackson’s mother advises this response to Charles Johnson’s lies

Some choice goodies:

Charles Johnson’s gutless passive-aggressive act — outrageously libeling me, trying to prevent me from reporting on the 9/12 March on DC, and then falsely claiming that I am attacking him — has been permitted to continue too long. Honest people are now compelled by simple decency to denounce him as the craven, sadistic liar he is.

Only Fighters Need Apply

Say what you will about Pamela Geller, she is not afraid of a fight. And what the conservative movement needs now — far more than we need ideological unity among intellectuals or would-be intellectuals — is people who are not afraid of a fight.

The Chicago Way has come to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and if anybody in the conservative movement doesn’t know what that means, they need to stop hitting the snooze button and wake the hell up.

Mad King Charles did not attack me until I defended Pamela against his vicious lies, and let us not neglect to observe that chief among his targets have been three women — Geller, Coulter and Malkin. If Charles Johnson were a Sioux, his tribal name would have to be “Fights With Girls.”

Should Mad King Charles wish to begin describing me as a “homophobic white supremacist blogger,” let him do so immediately, for certainly I am not alone in the suspicion that he is getting in touch with his inner Andrew Sullivan. NTTAWWT. IYKWIMAITYD.

Read it all here. It’s quite entertaining.

(tip o’ the hat to Godzilla, for the link)

Update by Rodan: Ace once again gives Charles another beatdown for his support of ACORN!

CJ’s defending ACORN, by the way, in case you wondered what his scary-cogent analysis would turn out to be.

As with anything lately, CJ is defending because he must defend anything attacked by the Font of All Evil, Glenn Beck. And all the other crazies on the right. Of whom he recently wrote, “are all receding away from me at the speed of light, and it’s not fast enough for me.” Or something like that.

Kinda feel the same way, pal. I kinda dig how you delete and ban everyone who merely disagrees with you. It’s like North Korea over there. There’s this weird thing where everyone seems determined to be the first to praise the High and Mighty Charles “Oz” Johnson, for fear of being exiled from the Twilight Zone cornfield.

At this point, Charles “Icarus” Johnson should just give up!

“Frankly, I think the conservative movement is shooting itself in the foot — again — with the obsessive focus on ACORN.

ACORN works largely in minority communities, primarily African American communities. And while there may be corrupt employees, they have also done a lot of good for people. I know, go ahead, excommunicate me for saying it, but I just can’t buy into this one-dimensional crap. They’re not ALL evil, all the time.

And this is going to further cement the impression that African Americans and other minorities already have, that the GOP and conservatives in general have racist motives.

    It’s a foot-shot.”

Cochise has really gone off the reservation for good, hasn’t he?

It’s almost as though McCain was a one time lizard and witnessed first hand, as many of of did, 1.0’s slouching towards Gommorah.

Clearly, the man has succumbed to a narcissistic personality trait that is all too common among weaklings. As his habit of successively banishing nearly all of his commenters clearly shows, Johnson is a control freak, incapable of tolerating disagreement. He will heed no counsel of caution and reacts with fury to the slightest hint of criticism. Trustful only of those who flatter him, he is suspicious of strangers and envious of the merits of others.

The character of a deceitful backstabber — weakling, bully, coward, liar –is a species of sociopathic evil which, in real life, wise men know and avoid. But remembering Steiner’s Law (”On the Internet, nobody knows you’re a dog”) we see how long Charles Johnson succeeded in pretending to be what he never was, nor could ever be. He lacks not only sound judgment, but also honesty, courtesy and courage.

He’s got Charles and 1.0 pegged to a tee.

    Some other BS from Chuckles:

“Please don’t post links to Pajamas Media. They now promote white supremacists as featured writers, and I won’t send any traffic to them if I can help it.”

“By the way, I like Bill Whittle too – he’s a friend, in fact. But I won’t be associated with any website that promotes vile racists like RS McCain.”

    re: #166 Earth56
    Thanks for the links.
What I cannot understand is why anyone would think this is just another story. Its YOUR money
For those that are trying to imply that they caught only a few then do the math and ask how many they have not.
I’m not very interested in this story either, sorry. I think it’s a peripheral issue –red meat for the GOP base.
Yes, they should be investigated after what we see on the tapes, but it’s nowhere near as important as a lot of other issues.

“How many African Americans did you see at the tea party last weekend? I looked at hundreds of photos. I don’t remember seeing even one.”

    and the ultimate:

“No — he’s a “nice guy.” They’ve never had any problem with him. Charles Johnson must be EEEVIL!”

He’s lost it…if he thinks that ACORN is such a good organization, why doesn’t he just go work for them…and keep on perpetuating the myth of “DA MAN” keeping everyone less fortunate down…

The recent 1.0 post basically defending ACORN at worst and not seeing what’s in front of your face at best has really left me with a bad taste in my mouth for being a reader of LGF for 8 years.

The idea that CJ seems to be going out of his way to defend something as vile as ACORN should send shockwaves through the remaining decent Lizards.

This is my point from another thread. 1.0 cannot be allowed to attack conservatives under the cover of a few conservative radio talk host. Medved & Hewitt. They should educated themselves. Medved and others made 1.0, support for Israel is no longer a cause for 1.0. It will fall on deaf ears, yet I will continue to say it. No links to 1.0. from conservatives.

There is going to be a mass exodus soon from 1.0. Just look at how many have left there without being banned and have shown up here. The whole atmosphere has changed so dramatically it is only a matter of time when many will finally be fed up with what 1.0 has become and leave.

And when that happens 2.0 will truly become what the version upgrade of this blog means.

Medved has been insulted there for similar reasons.
The problem Charles is running into is that he makes people choose, “That vile [racist/creationst/bugboo du jour] or me.” And more people are going to discover that there is someone Charles disdains that they like or respect more than him.

Prager is very pro ID, he would eat CJ alive just like he did to a pro Darwin caller with CJ talking points. And Prager has had Bebe on his show, Bebe has written pro-ID books and he is a fellow at the dreaded Discovery Institute. CJ calls Bebe is a “fraud”!

Now when CJ was on the Prager show last year, I listened, CJ sounded like he was beating off or something. His voiced had this bouncy road in a car without a suspension sound to it. I don’t think typing causes that.

Funniest article by Charles I ever read there was when he asserted that American’s belief in the devil was why the Chinese and Indians were going to the moon.
    No, really:

Allahpundit points out a new Harris poll, showing that more Americans believe in the devil than in evolution.

Which is one big reason why we have a problem in this country with science education, why America’s lead in science has vanished, and why countries like India and China are going to the moon

    http://littlegreenfootballs.com/article/32161_More_Americans_Believe_in_the_Devil_Than_in_Evolution/comments/#ctop

It’s just so mind-blowingly un-rational thing I’ve ever read, it would be slander if it were ascribed as satire.

One thing I discovered last night, in searching through old posts at LGF, circa 2005 and 2006, is that Charles never really had much to say in any of the posts. Most of them consist of just a short sentence or two with an excerpt taken from the article he linked to. It was the commenters that made LGF what it was.

Last night I looked at dozens and dozens of old posts, expecting to catch Charles’s in one gotcha after another. But what I found instead was that Charles himself was really a non-person back then. He didn’t comment in the threads, so you really never knew what he thought about the articles…but based on the nature of the links, one would be justified in assuming that Charles was a true-blue conservative.

He may have been playing us for rubes all along.

It was always the posters and readers. Now that anyone who does anything conservativish gets banned, the readers that made a difference aren’t there.

This is what I have mentioned more than once here at 2.0. The old LGF was nearly Charles-free. The comments made it what it was. Not Charles. He merely provided the venue. Once CJ started to comment in his threads the seeds were sown for the demise of this once great site. And after the likes of Sharmuta discovered LGF the first nail was already in the coffin.

P.S, Sharmuta, I was with LGF long before you ever heard of the place and read it daily since late 2001.

I can’t remember when I registered with LGF, but I know it was in the days of Zulubaby and Bigel. I posted quite a bit but never got into any of the cliques that began to rear their heads (one I can remember was formed by Reaganite and Ann and a few others), which I didn’t appreciate too much because they were like jackals, unmercifully heaping on people who I didn’t think were really out of line all that much). They formed a blog called and referred to it as ‘across the street’, remember that? But that was when LGF was still good, and you could read a range of opinions in the threads. Enforced groupthink ultimately leads to a membership comprised of sycophant.

Yes, that was my nick. That’ why I’m still using it here (I’m glad it wasn’t taken).

Reaganite, Ann, Swamp Woman, Diane, and a few others would colloborate offsite at a blog that they would refer to (amongst themselves) as ‘across the street’. Charles got wind of it and in one 1,000 + thread banned quite a few people associated with that ‘across the street’ blog. It was the first mass banning that occurred at LGF, I’m pretty sure. This was in the days when LGF was still good.

    2007 mass banning

Ironically, the big beef with the ‘across the streeter’s’ was that the threads were too hard right! They would mass attack posters who they didn’t agree with.

I am not an attorney but I did stay at a Holiday Express one time.

From Irish Hose’s own comments, particularly her bragging comment the other day about shutting us down, malicious intent can easily be shown on her part and her entire intent.

You are the owner of this blog based in Ca, so I think but am not sure you could file a small claims case against her at your local courthouse. Forcing her to travel to Ca to defend her Hoseyness and you could sue her for the cost of moving to the new host. Her having the site shut down didnt cause a loss of revenue since you don’t get any revenue from this endeavor.

The claim could possibly be her false and purely vindictive accusations caused the site to move to a new host.

Even not winning could be a win for us, with her having to spend her welfare checks on travel expensive.

  199. Godzilla

If you get off at Mesa Drive (where the old 76 truckstop is, go south to Blythe Way, turn left and the next street make a right. You will see a dirt road and the deliveries are made out there, 3 miles down that road.

    re: #215 by cane_loader

When I was in third grade, the nun who was my teacher taught me a lesson that has served me well all my life.

There was a boy in the class, Charles Russell, quiet, polite, and gentlemanly. That winter, his brother, older by a year or two, was killed while sliding down a snowy hill; his sled hit a tree.

Charles, when he returned to school after the funeral, was like an entirely different person –rowdy, disrespectful, picking fights, loud…..

One day, when he was out of the classroom for a few minutes, the nun told us that it was very likely that the example of his older brother had been what made him so nice previously, and that we should try to be good examples to him our own selves.

With our Charles, the Johnson one, I have wondered mightily, if it might be the same way: just before the worst began, he let us know of him mother’s cancer, and he proved his extreme worry, by actually asking for prayer for her.

I have thought that, most likely she did die, and that that was the influence he no longer has, to keep him steady…..

Here’s an interesting post that encapsulates part of the LGF period that includes the runnup to the widespread Gulf Coast Pundit banning. As far back as 2006, it was thought by some that LGF wasn’t being run by Charles. Notice in the excerpts how tolerant ‘Charles’ was with respect to criticism.

    The Gulf Coast Pundit banning

I remember reading one overnight thread (I think it was in early 2007 or late 2006) where the posters were collectively attacking Charles, who finally responded by banning the attackers. But he was REALLY being savaged.

I’ll try to find that thread one of these days…it shows very clearly how different the current ‘Charles’ is to the old one.

I was there that night and I think Rayra and that whole gang was totally out of hand and did deserve to get banned, but later I thought about Rayra’s point and it’s true that very shortly before, we had started to see the NEW selrahC, who dove into thread too much, talked too much, and incited other posters.

So – I agreed with selrahC that night, but Rayra had a point, too. Totally unjustified in the situation and didn’t excuse the way he talked to selrahC, but a point.

I wonder what will happen to the birth rate now that Cali has banned this Mexican superfertility food.

Yes, Cali has lots of resources.

But once it is isolated, how would it work?

Without subsidies from D.C, your illegal alien slave workers that do all the jobs that Americans won’t do won’t get their money and so now the Americans will be forced to do those jobs. And then with the taxes they will pay out all their money and be reduced to growing food in back of their 1/8 acre lots or moving to the San Joaquin valley and picking fruit.

Nice future. No animosity – I’m just saying that Cali made choices and hell, my state sure shouldn’t have to pay to bail out yours when the voters/sold-out courts made your bed.

So lie in it or emigrate, is what I’m trying to say. Good luck. .

Who is “receding” from whom, Charles? It’s a matter of perspective, isn’t it? The rest of us — including those who consider a rally in Washington against runaway deficit spending and out-of-control government to be a good thing — are watching you approach the event horizon of a black hole, where the massive density of your own insuperable arrogance creates an overwhelming gravitational force that sucks you into an infinite vortex of nothingness.

I love the categories CJ puts the “flouncers” in (’bots, assholes, racists, etc.).
What’s the category for “sick of being unable to post on the Internet except for at LGF-approved websites” or “thinks that Acorn is crooked” or “doesn’t like Truthers in the Administration” or worst of all “thinks Al Gore and Earth First are full of shit”? Those are the categories that are seeing the most action lately.

The Robert Stacy McCain was hilarious until he started slandering atheists. Then it just became an eye-rolling experience.

Atheists are people too, and their input is important, viz a viz human rights and the anti-jihad movement.

As far as Robert Stacy McCain goes – the man does link to and contribute to VDARE, which is a white nationalist group. They are proud to be white nationalist, and say so on their very website. They host open antisemite contributors.

Charles Johnson is disgusting and a disgrace, but he still is capable of occasionally burping out a cognizable point.

It was stupid of Charles to set upon an out-of-nowhere blogwar against R.S. McCain. But that doesn’t mean R.S. McCain is someone I support, or any pro-human rights person should support.

And as far as Pamela Gellar goes – Charles Johnson’s hysteria over her is over the top (and is disgusting, given she is a former friend). But she has contributed to her own bashing, when she makes claims about Barack Obama being Malcom X’s love child, or worse, claims our friends and allies are kapos/throat-slitters out to kill us. (because they are not sufficiently anti-jihad for her tastes)

My bottom line is this: the enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend.

I guess the reason why I decided to commit hari kari at LGF was when Charles and his minions went after Zombie. I knew the place has changed forever when they went after her. She has done great work over the years, but b/c she believe that Van Jones was a truther, Charles decided that their friendship had to end. That is no way to treat people especially someone you’ve known for years.

Anyway, I found it highly ironic that Chuckie himself was stalking my comments and dinging down almost everything thing I posted. Doesn’t he have a web business to run? I’m just looking forward to the day when Hot Air de-links him.

I can’t get too excited when they want me to believe someone is bad for being published somewhere questionable while simultaneously telling me that ACORN is not tainted by the actions of its employees at multiple locations.

R S McCain may have a problem with who he hangs out with but all anyone can honestly say about that is, “Check it out for yourself.”

If this were a similar, if there were one, GOP organization caught promoting child slavery and prostitution, Every republican would want it closed.

The liberals just have to be brought kicking and screaming into the light on this one. They won’t thank us for it, but they would benefit from a little professionalism in their organizations. So would the country.

Also, we are looking at one of the big muscle arms of the left and we have a chance to bring it down due to it’s deep seated corruption. I’ve read the pages RSM wrote about Charles Johnson, including the one you mention.

I didn’t see any “slander” against atheists. All I did see was someone pointing out in a round-about way what an anti-theist bigot Johnson is.

At one point, RSM pointed out that atheists have “nothing” to pray to, and when you have “nothing” to pray to, you’re naturally not going to get an answer.

It was RSM’s way of saying that a believer in God at least has hope and can endure life’s problems, and this is a comfort Johnson, in his present state of atheism (or agnosticism?) will never have.

Johnson, on the other hand, is very condescending to theists at his site. I think he has used terms such as “knuckle draggers” and the like to describe Christians, esp. ones who reject macroEvolution.

Johnson permits his atheist posters to use very insulting, derogatory terms against Christians on a consistent basis.

I did not see anything terribly insulting against atheists at RSM’s blog, not in the essays about LGF and Charles Johnson.

RSM’s comebacks were actually pretty mild in comparison to the insulting trash Johnson spews at Christians on his blog.

In re: VDARE, I don’t see any links to it from his site, and I am not one to think that linking to a site implies anything upon the blogger doing the linking. I’ve had more than enough guilt-by-association arguments, frankly, so I don’t think that’s really a fair thing to use at this point.

I just personally think that the only way to win this fight for civilization is to consistently stand for human rights.

I appreciate your point of view, Delectable. Sometimes we need to take a deep breath and be more thoughtful about who we support. We cannot become what we criticize: a blog that is blind to the nuance of the human condition.
Part of the problem with LGF is that it makes assumptions by association and makes sweeping statements about certain groups of people.
If CJ wants an ideology that’s as pure as the wind-driven snow, he’s going to be one lonely guy. If he gave the tea party demonstrators half the latitude he just have ACORN, (”they’re not ALL evil ALL of the time”), it would have gone a long way in acknowledging that the conservative movement has a large tent, and while every group has their fringe wackos, there is a common thread of conservatism that binds it together.
And, if there are organizers and leaders of the tea party movement that we don’t agree with (and there are some that I don’t like at all), we should have the cajones to get them out and promote leaders that we do agree with. Simply abstaining from the process because we don’t want to get Creationist Cooties from someone at the protest is elitist and lazy.
By ignoring the things we have in common he has created much disunity where there could have been unity.

By the same token, we must realize that just because CJ says it, it’s not ALWAYS wrong. We must examine these things for ourselves, make our own judgements, and move forward with an eye toward unifying conservatives toward a common goal.

The talking point going around the wingnut blogs today is that LGF is in serious decline because I’m a virulent anti-Christian. Of course, they can’t actually link to anything at all that I’ve ever written that demonstrates this, but that isn’t stopping them.

I’m not anti-Christian at all, as people with minds of their own can easily see.

Again, they’re unable to separate being opposed to radical far-right religious agendas like creationism from being opposed to religion in general. Same old same old. This is how fundamentalists keep the masses in line – if you depart from the talking points even the tiniest bit, you’re an apostate who deserves excommunication.

And as for “declining” — our traffic has been rising steadily for the past two months, which must be extremely irritating for them.
    ===
OK, some observations, comments and a question, paragraph by paragraph…

    1-2
Frequent threads attacking or exposing ‘creationists’ frequently conflate any belief in the creation of mankind and the universe by G-d with ‘Creationism’. His claims to consider difference between the two are hollow and insincere, and the echo-chamber only amplifies the sentiment. Does he really need a link to his own blog? Just Google, Bing, Yahoo.

    3
Ironic, isn’t it? Substitute “Charles Johnson” for ‘fundamentalists’ and “ban-stick” for ‘excommunication’, and he’s describing exactly what he is doing in his own little green universe.

In fact, in many other ways his M.O. is just like his new Quisling King B.H.O. For example:
    a. Say what appears to be ‘moderate’, ‘reasoned’ or ‘nuanced’, but take opposite action, e.g. Taqqiya. When caught, attack the messenger.
    b. Stir the pot, but have your henchmen do the real dirty work. Ensure you have plausible deniability. When caught, blame someone else.
    c. Use Alinsky’s freeze-personalize-poliarize tactics: Guilt-by-association, ad-hominem and labeling (racist, nirther, birther, becker, insane, ). If that doesn’t work, ban-stick.

    4
When you have a corps of followers who might respond directly to recent pleas to ‘hit the tip jar’, is it possible they may also do so indirectly by increasing their visits trying to drive up ad revenue via ratings? I don’t know, just asking a question.

Creationists are his boogeyman (not to mention ID’ers – oh noes!)

Did his mother drop him on his head two years ago?

    hey, don’t forget Cato
“Boy would I love to get clear sight picture on that woman at about 700 yards”

that’s got the added bonus of being a creepy violent sexual statement. Cato the onanistic voyeur assassin, in the bell tower overlooking the freshmen dorms. At least he leaves DNA evidence.

Wow, could not get past this one, just trying to get caught up…tough to wake up in the PI…however, this was an awesome insult…and I wish, oh, I sincerely wish I could have put all those words together, in that order and take credit for it…spidly, hats off!

I noticed that NY Nana was on the banned list over at Kirly’s site. Shock and disbelief; this was one of the worst sycophants in the clique. Can anyone confirm/supply details?

I started reading LGF 1.0 way back when there was a tip jar. Never tipped thank God (can I say that) oh yes here I can. I enjoyed all of you regulars, I was never able to catch the open registration. I just viewed and watched from the side lines. Early on every once in a while someone would mention creation/evolution and you guys would comment “here we go again” or “hang on”. Then I began to notice a violent opposition to the mere mention of creation. I began to see volumes of scientific data cut and pasted. I saw violent reactions to comments and witness the banning, which at first I thought was in jest, but soon found out C. was dead serious take no prisoners. I then concluded that I did not want to participate if I had an opening and lost interest. I was fortunate to see a link to 2.0 that was posted to mock. I have been here ever since. Thanks for the discussions and entertainment. I’ll hang on the edges and comment from time to time.

    She did the unthinkable.

She defended Carl in Jerusalem after cj banned him for one of his links. Seriously. Carl in Jerusalem.

Thanks for the info, ‘m’. Nice to see her show some backbone. I really hope she sticks to her guns and doesn’t beg Charles to reinstate her.

I wonder how long it’s going to take for Charles to take a leftie position on Israel.

    Re: my #350-

Really, that’s got to be the next step. Ploomie got the stick for citing an article that seems to exonerate Baruch Goldstein, Nana gets the stick for backing Carl in Jerusalem. Next shoe to drop will be the new, critical position vis-a-vis Israel.

Thanks for the welocme. I am just not left enough. As far as I am concerned, each school district can teach what it likes! Vote for it on the local level. There are more important issues to me – like voter fraud, ACORN, huge deficit, bailouts, unemployment. It’s like a dog worrying a bone over there.

So I was glad to find so many “old friends” over here.
