CJ of LGF has broken the TOS with PAYPAL

This is a guest Post from Avideditor.

Posted by avideditor on September 7, 2009

I know of two people that he has exposed personal info on that he could have only got from paypal payments or donations. This is clearly against the terms of service for PayPal. How do you get PayPal removed from a website? I know the JIDF has done that to jihadis. But, I do not think PayPal will help just because he turned his site from an anti-jihadi site to an anti-conservative and G-d bashing site that now promotes the global warming myth and 0bama’s agenda. He is not a jihadi yet, I just think Charles Johnson of LGF has crossed the line and has put innocent people’s lives at risk. STOP HIM NOW IF YOU CAN. PS the JIDF radio show is amazing IMHO, especially ep 4. Check it out. They are a great organization too IMHO

    Hey Tee,

    Me too.

I suspect Rodan posted this right after the “Why People Didn’t Trust Obama to Address Their Kids” thread went up. He most likely pulled it and rescheduled it to show up now. With multiple administrators it sometimes happens.

I would think that if you could give PayPal proof that he had broken the TOS that they would bust him.

Nic change to protect my ability to spy on 1.0!

Last post for the night. I have avoided Paypal and never saw any reason to use it since Ed Foster (Infoworld Gripeline) reported that they require giving access to one’s bank account rather than allowing use of credit card for payment. I don’t give anyone a free shot at my bank account.

It is not required to give them a bank account number, but they persist in asking for one. Something about “confirming” your account with them and supposedly it makes you a preferred user.
They lost me with that reasonong. I use PayPal but there is no way in hell that I am giving them a bank account number.

My rule of thumb is never fuck with peoples income except through competition. It has served me pretty well. If there is a definite crime there, the people whose information was compromised should complain. Otherwise not worth it. It should just result in a slap on the wrist to not do it again.

I think the lesson there is that paypal uses some real information. And one shouldn’t use them if anonymity is needed. Just send cash. Or use an escrow service.

The layers of malfeasance at 1.0 are pretty interesting. I couldn’t be a member of a site like that.

    Use anonymous browsing.
Don’t use your LGF email or login and password anyplace else. Be someone different at Irish Roses and Defenseman.

My favorite all time Pink Floyd song was “Wish you Were Here” as a Vietnam veteran I always pictured that song as being about us in Vietnam. Of course, it wasn’t. Still the words they were beautiful. More meaning than anyone could imagine.

So, so you think you can tell
    Heaven from Hell,
    Blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field
    From a cold steel rail?
    A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

    Good night all.

I only asked about two people I knew over there. Is that an obsession? So. so relax, the band is getting old like me. So, so enjoy. You have to remember the past so, so as to not repeat it. Sorry, I just like that first part of the song. So what?

Steyn and Levant finally win last thursday

“This is the first time in 32 years that anyone has been acquitted under the censorship provisions of the Canadian Human Rights Act,” he said. “That’s amazing – and to have the law declared unconstitutional is even more of a breakthrough.”

The problem is that PayPal requires a delivery address. But a donation or payment for services shouldn’t require delivery addresses.

Anyone can data mine personal information from contributions by getting their home (delivery) address. A reverse search from the address reveals the occupant.

I did give to LGF a couple of years ago but I wasn’t logged on because I wasn’t a “Lizard” then. I use a special E-Mail for Paypal and my company address for delivery. I can change E-Mail address anytime my spam filter gets over loaded. My company address is general too, but FedEx, UPS and the USPS does find it.

I have noticed selrahC (that name suits him) that his PayPal donation and subscription buttons are more prominent. Plus, his Google clickthrus are noticeable and his Amazon ads (I have an Amazon affiliate account too) are all over the place. Plenty of “feed me” clutter.

I also see that he’s entertaining ‘Premium” ads.
Wait and see who gets the pole position there.
How he would charge for them I don’t know but I assume he would charge by “hits” to his site or ads.

Regarding why there aren’t a ton of comments here, it seems that most of you have a life.
I’m on this morning killing time as my kids get dressed for school.

Killian Bundy is still there as is Shiplord Kirel. As for Bubble Girl she had one other nic that I recall – “Amalie”.

Avid, my friend! so glad to see you as a guest poster! That is awesome.

regarding the outting via paypal concept… While i don’t doubt CFnJ would do just that, it’s difficult to prove the concept that paypal was the only way he could have acquired access to the information. It’s kind of like proving a negative. I doubt it would be a successful lawsuit but getting the information out there for the world to see is very important in attempting to protect those who may be similarly violated in the future.

Isn’t BubbleGirl/Amalie hanging out at Discarded Lies? IIRC she was part of that crowd, but I could be wrong.

I get the feeling that Killian Bundy and Shiplord Kirel may be among the next batch of thoughtcriminals to be “vaporized” by Big Lizard.

    re: #40 by Kirly

The only way he had my information was through paypal. My real name isn’t “online” anywhere connected to anything remotely political. NONE of the emails I have ever used as “m” have my real name on them. NONE. NEVER. My login was to an aol account (again, not my name), my yahoo has a fake name, my twitter, my digg, myspace, my flickr…

None of them are connected to my person.

Someone would have to show me the search string that found my real name from “m” at lgf. Or Michelle for that matter.

It’s not happening and there is no way to convince me it did unless I see the string.

But paypal doesn’t care. They told me that it was against their TOS, but that they were not responsible for individual vendors. And while telling me that- they suggested I not use that vendor again. They gave me links to report internet crime and fraud prevention and suggested I contact the BBB as well.

  43. 43 | September 9, 2009 11:27 am

    re: #42 by m

Did the fcc or bbb do anything? Or did they sit with their thumb up their backside and tell you “Oh, well.” ?

Seriously, why HAVE a tos if you’re not going to do anything when someone openly breaks it?

I thought the final thread mocking the pony tailed loser girly-man was put up last weekend.

Its ok. The thread at Ace where people whacked Chuckles the Dancing Clown like a piñata, that was awesome.

Maybe Chuckles can be a warning about trusting people who don’t share values…
