Daily Kos: Here come the Talibangelicals!!!

Today at Daily Kos: Bible study required this year in Texas public schools.

I read the bill which passed back in 2007. Its about teaching the effect the entire bible had on this country and history in general. Which includes the Hebrew part. Its not about recruiting “Talibangelicals” or Jews.

Its ironic that “liberals” are all for education, except when they are not.

This is serious, folks.  The Talibangelicals are taking over public education in Texas and other states around the country.  This forced stupidity they want to bestow on children will only further ensure that the United States’ children, already some of the dumbest in the Western world (and don’t forget China, Japan, India, etc.), will only fall further and further behind their peers.

Interesting note, I can not find a Daily Kos article decrying the teaching of the Qur’an to elementary aged children in California. I wonder why?

It takes a ton of bravery to use the term “Talibangelicals”, knowing full well we wont do America the favor. Some of us actually believe you have the liberty to be a hatemonger.

Texas Public Schools Required to Teach Bible Studies
US News | Mon, Aug 17, 2009 at 9:55:18 am PDT

Unbelievable. Apparently, there are quite a few politicians and school board members in Texas who are either 1) unaware of the existence of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the US Constitution, or 2) actively trying to subvert it: Texas public schools required to teach Bible this year.

Imagine my surprise to find fanatical fundamentalist preacher David Barton behind this. Here’s an article on Barton and his theocratic front group, the National Council On Bible Curriculum In Public Schools: Historical Revisionism in the NCBCPS Curriculum.

The strange thing is this is coming mostly from atheist’s which have so little knowledge concerning Christians and Jewish people or if they do they ignore whatever doesn’t mesh with whatever they don’t believe in.

Mainly, the liberals want to destroy christianity, save when they need to defend Islam, then they always trot out the crusades as if they were one sided. The other use they have for christians is to wonder “How can they believe this and still do *blank*”

That was an accepted argument at 1.0 the other day against Sarah Palin..

See, they do not hesitate to do what they do while claiming to believe..so it is reasonable to assume that the bashing they give is based on no belief whatsoever, no matter what their claims are.

To a true liberal like Charles and his ilk, religion is a means to an end, not an end in itself.

The Crusades were a Counter attack against islam after 400 years of Muzzie Agression. It was the East Roman Emperor Alexius who asked fro help.

They also bash the Reconquista or teh War of Spanish Resistance. They talk about how great Muslim Spain was. If it was so good, why did the Christians resist?

    Progressives support Muzzies.

  35. 35 | August 17, 2009 2:46 pm

    Reposting from previous thread:

I’ve often thought that one of the reasons these intellectual types hate christianity is because it has such a low entry requirement. Anyone can be a christian just by saying a few simple words and believing them.

Of course it doesn’t really stack up. You can be muslim by saying a few little words… you don’t even have to believe those words, as long as you observe the rituals and observances with unstinting regularity. There’s no faith in Islam but there’s a great deal of obedience to the pronouncements by the imams and clerics and it controls every aspect of your life, often without reason for any particular injunction.

On the third foot there’s plenty of rituals in Judaism as well but there’s a faith component, and injunctions against meaningless rituals that have no actual faith behind them. To be a jew means following the law, but to follow the law you have to understand the law and the fatherly love that prompted that law to be put in place.

So perhaps that’s it. Perhaps it’s love that challenges these people. A religion that celebrates the love of God for his children and the love grown between those believers seems threatening to these loveless progressives. They don’t understand love as anything but control and obedience. There is no love in Islam, or joy, or laughter. And there is no true love behind the “compassion” of the left.

Charles again calls for assaulting lawful gun owners in lawful posession of their weapons:

    re: #149 Killgore Trout

Rep. Gingrey (R-GA) Encourages Guns at Town Halls

You’re right, he was encouraging it.

I find that kind of pandering really disgusting. No responsible gun owner should or would advocate bringing loaded weapons to a presidential event.

I mentioned this a few days ago, but if the retired sergeant who taught gun safety in my high school ROTC class were still around and saw one of these guys, a serious beat-down would ensue. When these morons act this way, they hurt the image of all responsible gun owners.

You know, I’ve seen lots of things. I’ve seen people in unlawful posession of weapons, and I held my peace as long as they held their piece, as it were.

You noted they had a weapon, naturally, but you didn’t bitch about it. For the most part, it seems the Secret Service does the same thing. Even under Obama.

The guys at Powerline as usual ask a good question at the end.

    http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2009/08/024305.php?format=print

    Conservative Nation

The Gallup Poll has undertaken an interesting project: measuring the ratio of self-identified conservatives to self-identified liberals on a state by state basis. Gallup interviewed 160,000 adults (not, apparently, likely voters) to compile its numbers.

The results will be gratifying to anyone who believes that America has been, and remains, a center-right country. Gallup classified states as Most Conservative, More Conservative, Somewhat Conservative or Less Conservative, depending on the percentage by which conservatives outnumber liberals. Here is the resulting map, with the darker colors being the most conservative; click to enlarge:

    uipgwb2twkgdraglfzfwpw.jpg

But what about liberal states? There is only one jurisdiction in which self-identified liberals outnumber conservatives: Washington, D.C.

How a mostly-conservative electorate can elect governments, year after year, that pursue mostly-liberal policies is a question for another day.

Wow. To make it more interesting, the guns they are talking about are reported by Talking Points Memo (follow the links) with no attribution other than wiki (for what an AR-15 is), and, you guessed it, Talking Points Memo.

I didn’t keep following the recursive references, but please. This isn’t even credible. Maybe someone had a gun, maybe they didn’t, but Talking Points Memo?

Oh, yeah, Daily Kos is credible reporting, too. Damn, but has Charles started doing meth? That is the only way I’ve seen this kind of change this quickly. Meth, coke, crack, or other really hard drugs (I’ve never known anyone on smack, but I’ve done morphine, and it didn’t do that to me).

Yeah, Charles would have been the one doing the mocking for the very same things I’m pointing out. Things have changed. Put me among the ones who isn’t sure this is the same “Charles”. Sure, people change, but not usually abruptly like this. Barring hard core drugs, that is. Or brain trauma…

    bwhahaha!

This forced stupidity they want to bestow on children will only further ensure that the United States’ children, already some of the dumbest in the Western world (and don’t forget China, Japan, India, etc.), will only fall further and further behind their peers.

What’s ironic is that the most religious Christian students in the country overall are homeschooled kids – who happen to beat the tar out of publik skool kids in every area, including science.

Interesting how most murderers and assassins tend to be on the Left. Maybe if someone had instilled a little bit of Christianity in them…..

The unhinged tools at LGF are truly losing it, not that that is unusual.

As a sidebar, Excitable Chucky opened up registration, and, unusually, he did not publish how many new hatchlings there were. Sounds like he is not getting many anymore.

Wow. It’s like old times here. Got banned from LGF back in January. Good to see the old posters. I used to post as jamsler.

Oddly, I got to this site folloying a link at LGF. I hate giving queeg a click but the links are good. I didn’t recognize the poster’s name but I suspect he’s new and is going down soon.

This is just exactly the kind of crap that CJ will take and run with. The difference between LGF and KOS is shrinking….

If you look at that posting Rodan did of the music video where “Icarus” is playing with Stanley Clarke it looks like “Icarus” is flying high on something.

It was hard for those of us who were old timers to realize what was happening around us. I so wanted to believe it wasn’t, that it was just a temporary phase, last year when he first started attacking Pamela and Robert Spencer. But he’s totally gone of the cliff.

I actually had to stop posting at LGF due to ethics issues (my law firm is representing Dan Rather in his suit against CBS and since LGF was part of the network that “brought him down” as it were, the Ethics Czar said it would be better if I didn’t) I went over to Free Republic and then GCP and found this blog.

One of the reason I didn’t say anything negative about Chaz or LGF was because people I cared about like Fist and Mafia Princess were still there and posting and I didn’t want to stick them in a crappy position.

Now that Fist is banned, as we say in the South, my, my, my…..
