Certain Bloggers from a certain Progressive Blog keep claiming that they are being stalked by people from this blog. This is news to many of us who work and honestly just like mocking them online.

Gotta love the Yardbirds (1963 – 68), they had at different times three of the greatest guitarists ever – Eric Clapton (1963 -65), Jeff Beck (1965 -66), then Jimmy Page (1966 -68).

Jimmy looked like he was 16 years old in that video (which came from a German TV show called Beat, Beat, Beat in early 1967). Too bad about the lead singer Keith Relf – he was electrocuted by a poorly grounded electric guitar in 1976 at the age of 33. He looked a lot like the Rolling Stones Brian Jones didn’t he?

Great band – went from blues to rock to pyschedelic rock. The only thing that kept them from being in the Beatles/Stones/Kinks category was that they did not have the song writing talent of a Lennon-McCartney/Mick Jagger-Keith Richards/Pete Townshend/Ray Davies. Still they had a bunch of great songs and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. Greatest musical talent in a band ever particularly during the brief period when Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page were in the band together (1966). See, I know more then just ancient/medieval history LOL!

I don’t agree that Charles’ talent as a guitarist is something worth mocking. While I don’t dig that tune on YouTube showing him with Stanley Clarke I have to admit that just the fact Clarke would hire CJ to play indicates to me that he’s got some chops.
I’m sure I’ll be in the minority here with this opinion though. Just my .02 cents.
Interesting – it was the disgusting iceweasel who referred to zombie (one of the few decent posters left at LGF) as a ‘blog whore’.
