6 Pakistani Christians die in riots with Muslims

ISLAMABAD — Days of rioting between Christians and Muslims in eastern Pakistan following allegations that a Quran was defiled escalated Saturday, leaving six Christians dead, including a child, authorities said.

Members of a banned Muslim organization began torching Christian homes in the Punjabi city of Gora on Thursday after accusing them of desecrating pages from Islam’s holy book, Federal Minister for Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti said.

“There is no truth in the allegation,” he told The Associated Press, adding that he had himself visited Gojra on Friday and asked police to provide protection to Christians who were facing threats.

He accused the police of ignoring his instructions and said hundreds of radical Muslims on Saturday burned more Christians homes and killed six, including four women and a child.

[...]

Another minister, Dost Mohammad Khosa, said the issue of the alleged desecration had been settled. “Today, somebody opened fire at a peaceful rally that was passing by a Christian neighborhood. That made things worse. We are sure some miscreant elements have tried to exploit the situation,” he said.

It is a pretty sad commentary that even the Federal Minister for Minorities feels that if there was “truth to the allegation” it would be seen as justification.

Update 8-2-09
BBC has updated with video. The number of deaths is 8.

If it is the religion of peace, why do they have to keep reminding us of the fact?

The blood of the Christian martyrs will continue to run deep. And the true Christian’s only reply is forgiveness and love.

However, it is important to keep posting these stories in order to document the downfall of Western culture its abandonment of Christianity and reason. As we here all know, it has been pointed out elsewhere that creationists, birthers and pro-lifers are going to be the destruction of the West and not Islamofacsism.

As the saying goes: Good Grief!

Good point. Peace through submission to allah isn’t a peace worth having.

Turkish game show a leap of faith

ISTANBUL — First came “Big Brother,” about which many here had their doubts.

Then came “The Big Donor Show,” a highly questionable Dutch brainchild in which candidates — not contestants — competed to donate their kidney to a terminally ill patient.

But just when you thought television shows could not get any more outrageous, those wacky Turks launch “Penitents Compete.”

The premise of this TV reality show sounds like an old joke: “What do you get when you put a rabbi, a Buddist monk, a Greek Orthodox priest and a Muslim imam in the room with 10 atheists?”

It brings together local leaders of four religions who then try to convert a group of 10 atheists to their respective faiths on live television.

    Wheel. Of. Eternity!

    More ass-kissing to follow.

Lebanese cleric: Obama failed to repair Arab ties

    —-

‘Israel must withdraw from Arab land’: Saudi official

Such issues must be resolved “in order to achieve a permanent, just and lasting peace which is based on the establishment of an independent contiguous and viable Palestinian state,” Nugali said.

“In the Arab peace process normalisation comes after achieving these goals, not before it. So we should not put the cart before the horse.”

So they’ll resume the peace process after they cut Israel in half and get everything they’re supposedly asking for (we all know that it’s just a starting point).

    Got it.

    muslims conflicting with Christians
    muslims conflicting with Jews
    muslims conflicting with Hindus
muslims conflicting with Buddhism(e.g. Bayman statues)

    The common denominator is obvious.

Not to forget things like 9/11, the London Underground bombings, the Madrid train bombings, the French ‘carbecue’ riots, the Beslan atrocities, the Danish Cartoon riots, Theo Van Gogh’s murder, Salmon Rushdies’ death sentence fatwa, the Pope ‘muslims are violent’ riots, and the daily detonations, beheadings, shootings, kidnappings, and honor killings.

    WTH?!!?
This, about a week after a white Secret Service agent was killed in a mysterious one car accident, days after being removed from B-HO’s detail.
He had complained about B-HO and his wife always criticizing white’s, as the story goes.

Muslims have been raping anf killing Christians and stealing their land and possessions for centuries. In the Muslim world, the only reason to keep non-Muslims alive is to toil and slave for Muslims. Invariably the Muslims find new slaves and do away with their old ones, especially if their slaves have wealth or women they care to possess (as with the Armenians).

None of this is at all surprising for any members of religious minorities that have lived in the Muslim world. For them it’s a fact of life.

I hope they all burn in hell when they die, and the sooner the better.

seems to me that there is a passage in the Old Testament Re: The children of Ishmael [arabs]

They [children of Ishmael] will be a wild people, stubborn, always with their hand against their brothers and others.
Now this is paraphrasing, just in case Wrath is around.

But that sounds pretty much like the arabs of today, if you ask me.

the usual suspects screwing with taxes to keep their ineptness from showing.

the tax was added so 911 operators could remote access the gps in a phone to see where the caller is.

once that hardware and software had been installed, the tax should have ended. That it hasn’t, that funds are funnelled and that somw states haven’t installed this yet only prove that these officials need to see prison time for fraud.

    but they’re politicians, they won’t.

Of course the BBC views this is as somehow the fault of America

    Pakistan Christians die in unrest

Pakistan’s small Christian minority has periodically been targeted since Pakistan became a US ally in the so-called War on Terror.

In May 2007, Christians in the north-west of the country sought government protection following threats of bomb attacks if they did not become Muslims.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/8179823.stm

    News flash to the BBC.

This is what muslims do.They were doing this in that area well before Pakistan even existed and even more so when it became an islamic state.

  25. 26 | August 1, 2009 2:53 pm

Of course since the victims are Christian, this ok in the eys of the Progressives. Nothing to see, just move on.

I find this highly disturbing, irrespective of when it began.
From the time I was five, I was taught the safety rules, and you don’t point a weapon at any object unless you intend to destroy it.
Muzzle discipline is not something anyone should be exempt from. I don’t care how much training these agents have had, pointing weapons at people is provocative and dangerous. Keeping them at the ready, with the muzzles elevated would be a much wiser course of action.

Okay, I didn’t realize that, I was just reacting to men riding around in armored Suburbans pointing guns at people. I assumed it was something new, as I had never, ever heard of such a thing, and I saw many motorcades here in Dallas for W and Cheney for eight years, as well as for B-HO and Hildebeast, during the last campaign.

    The objective BBC. /

Their timeline for the first intifada claims that the Paleos were throwing stones at tanks and Israel responded with killing and mass destruction.

Like the suicide bombings and snipers on the roads never even happened…

This is their entry for 1987:

    Palestinian intifada
A mass uprising – or intifada – against the Israeli occupation began in Gaza and quickly spread to the West Bank.

Protest took the form of civil disobedience, general strikes, boycotts on Israeli products, graffiti, and barricades, but it was the stone-throwing demonstrations against the heavily-armed occupation troops that captured international attention.

The Israeli Defence Forces responded and there was heavy loss of life among Palestinian civilians. More than 1,000 died in clashes which lasted until 1993.

    Lying mf’ers.
