The Turkish Occupation of Cyprus

There is a territory that is occupied and it is not the West Bank or Gaza. It is Northern Cyprus occupied by Muslim Turks. Since 1974 the Turks have ethnically cleansed the northern part of Cyprus of Christian Greeks. There is very little discussion about this since Christian blood is worth less than Muslim blood in the eyes of the progressive media.

The invasion and occupation has had disastrous consequences. About 142,000 Greek Cypriots living in the north – nearly one quarter of the population of Cyprus – were forcibly expelled from the occupied northern part of the island where they constituted 80% of the population. These people are still deprived of the right to return to their homes and properties. A further 20,000 Greek Cypriots enslaved in the occupied area were gradually forced through intimidation and denial of their basic human rights to abandon their homes. Today there are fewer than 600 enslaved persons (Greek Cypriots and Maronites).

Why does no one ever complain about this occupation?

It’s a shame no one talks about this occupation.

Very interesting, this is one of the reasons why Turkey is having a difficult time trying to get into the E.U. and will make it easier for Russia and other countries (Iran) of the region to form an allegiance with Turkey, this is something that I keep my eye on.

    (Ezekiel chapter 38 anyone?)

I do recall the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. It was a month before Nixon resigned. While having little sympathy for the American hating Greeks (Andreas Papandreou was particularly vile), any occupation under Muslims has got to be hell.

At the end of the vid they put the E.U. sec.col.res. 550
this is a big stumbling block for Turkey, a country that’s 95% Muslim and looking for friends.

I have been fascinated with abandoned places ever since I was a little kid. I had that vid in my favorites and I thought this was the perfect thread to stick it into.

By the way, there is rumor that a car dealership is somewhere in that city, completely untouched. New cars from 1974.

    No problem.
I think that Cyprus should have the right of self-determination, and be free of foreign control.
I remembered why Cyprus just didn’t resonate, because this conflict flared up during the Arab oil embargo, and the Paris Peace Talks to end Viet Nam.
I doubt the timing was coincidental.

The gist of the thread is to show how racist the photo supposedly is. Charles Johnson himself is unhappy at the fact there are actual Lizards who don’t see the photo as racist like he does. Like I just said, I don’t see it.

Obama’s working his voodoo magic on the health care system – white black, green, purple, or blue, the witch doctor cartoon is a funny way to communicate just how flawed Obama’s attempt to drag us into the third world is. That’s what it represents.

I can’t believe I am seeing the day that LGFers are acting like this is a cartoon of Mohammed. What’s next? Rioting in the streets?

    The Cult

A centralized form of leadership that rules with unquestioned authority.

A body of convictions, beliefs, and practices set forth boldly as “the truth”.

A compelling presentation of the group vision to prospects that is inviting and challenging.

A series of manipulative socializing sessions to instill psychological dependence on the group.

A definable process of group dynamics used to unethically control and manipulate members.

A history of abuses of authority by group leaders freely using deception and fear tactics.

Of course a weblog is a medium that allows the blogmaster to form his own rules and methods of control therein, but one must realize what is happening on the most visible blogs of our day and with that just what is going on.

    Huzzah.

I’m with you there, calling ourselves Americans, but most of all I consider myself a pilgrim…

All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

Unfortunately, those wishing to destroy it see an individual’s worth to the state, not the inherent value a loving God has given us.

Hopefully, enough folks will wake up in time.

To watch my mom and dad lovingly tease each other after 54 years of marriage is quite an example for all their children/grandchildren/great grandkids to see. To think their lives aren’t worth the same as some wimpy ass spoiled brat is repugnant to me. Of course, ruining the family has always been one of their goals.

It seems that taking over land and removing opposing view points is nothing new to the Muslims or lgf1.0.

    I’ve always love old folks.
Got to hang out a lot with my grandparents, and great granddad when I was a kid. They taught me so much, and showed so much love, I have always known how important they were to our family.

G’morning, M5p! It’s taken its time, but summer is finally getting here, huh! We had a couple hot days in April, and, well, you know the rest. It should be that warm again by tomorrow.

LOL! Usually, by this time of year I’m chanting to myself, “Only 6 more weeks till fall! Only 6 more weeks till fall!”

That euthenasia clause in the no-care bill really pisses me off, too. My mother is in he 70’s, too! That that wonderful, loving, giving, caring person should be treated like a rabid dog to be put down infuriates me!

The Muslim says “Jews evolved from pigs and apes”

The Jews say that “God used evolution to create man”

Jesus Christ said “in the begining He created them male and female”

When I pointed this out at lgf I got banned.

Now a Muslim and a Jew could care less about what Jesus said, so you can see how this strikes at Christianity more so than any other religion.

gotta go to work, have a great day.

I live in a condo too (good morning, BTW) and you could always volunteer on the upkeep of the grounds.

But even if you can’t, think of it this way – if the water heater goes, you neither have to fix it, replace it (yourself) or pay for it!

Yes, there are advantages, but the landscaping is all professionally(albeit illegals) done.
BTW, my standard for looking at the seasons is, it is only 42 days to high school football, and 43 to college football.

    N2l and Vapig,

Our family always gathers Christmas Eve, and my parents used to have a small home in a Small town in PA. We’d all take the block and 1/2 walk to church, with my sister’s and my kids always running ahead, followed by my parents and us siblings/spouses. Bringing up the rear, slowing strolling hand in hand (trying not to slip on the ice) was Grandma and Pap.

To think that is not worth preserving for any family disgusts me.

    N2l and Vapig,

My Grandfather was a lead mechanic for Lycoming Engines in Williamsport, PA. He’s actually on their website, working on an engine. Needless to say, he wasn’t allowed to join the Military in WW2.

There are so many wonderful stories and treasured moments that will be lost if Obamacare goes through. My other Grandfather wasn’t allowed to serve in WW2 because he lost his one eye in an accident at work. He died at work after his last heart attack when I was two.
Let us not throw away the beauty that is their remaining time with us because of this Marxist. The thing people who support this don’t realize is their time is coming.

Frankly, I think the photo captures the essence of Obamacare…all hype and lies – VOODOO magic that isn’t going to cost the tax payers a dime!

And for the record, Obama is a racist.

1.0 sure attracts a lot of “racist” types!
Racists tea party Nazi types anyways. The charge of “racism” is tossed around so casually these days, it has lost all meaning.

I don’t see what’s racist about the “Obama as a witch doctor” image.

It would appear that Obama’s head was photoshopped on to the body of a black man who is dressed up like a witch doctor.

It’s not quite the same as a white person donning “black face.”

I see it as a way of being critical of Obama’s health care ideas, and not a commentary about Obama’s skin color.

I think Johnson is pulling a bit of a Senator Boxer on this one (dragging skin color into an issue when the other person did not, or where it’s irrelevant to the topic at hand).

Yeah, the last count I saw was something like 28 accounts locked out.

    Quoting Irish Rose:

The folks at Deuce are mocking Charles for showing some integrity, as usual. And hoping that the banned and blocked will come on over.

I welcome any proof (which he/she is more than welcome to post here) of where anyone at The Blogmocracy mocks Mr. Johnson “for showing some integrity”.

The examples I have seen here don’t show Mr. Johnson “showing integrity”, but instead LGF banning people for disagreeing (and annoying Killgore).

The fluffing Mr. Johnson gets from his readers is amazing. Personally, if I got that much knee service from any of the posters here I would be very uncomfortable (although maybe slightly flattered as well I guess) and start to worry about them.

As for Irish Rose’s statement that

    They can have ‘em.

I say, thank you! I welcome anyone here to voice their opinion freely. If they don’t agree with something an Admin here has said, and can back up their disagreement, I would be thrilled to have them. The more diverse opinions the better.

We at The Blogmocracy are not so thin-skinned that we need to only have people post here who agree with our “integrity”.
