Al Franken Won

Since I haven’t seen an Al Franken thread around here for some time, and since I noticed that Hot Air linked to an interesting Frater Libertas post recapping the righty bloggers that laughed at Franken’s chances of defeating Coleman over past few years, I thought I might as well take the opportunity to declare that I confidently called this one… 2½ years ago:

…and we care if chenZhen called this because?…..

    A+ Threading pal, A+ threading.

How about we leave the “in the life of” posts at your own blog?

Here let’s discuss a useful topic instead.

Remember, these people are trying to lecture us on how often we turn our air conditioners on, and tell us that not paying more taxes is unpatriotic.

First Lady requires more than twenty attendants

In other totalitarian regimes they would call this a political class. Do Americans serf?

Good grief, they have no shame.

This man was elected not anointed!

And why should they? No one is going to stop them. What are we going to do about it?

Let’s not forget what Congress is doing.

Congress’ Travel On Taxpayer’s Dime Rises Tenfold

WASHINGTON — Spending by lawmakers on taxpayer-financed trips abroad has risen sharply in recent years, a Wall Street Journal analysis of travel records shows, involving everything from war-zone visits to trips to exotic spots such as the Galápagos Islands.

The spending on overseas travel is up almost tenfold since 1995, and has nearly tripled since 2001, according to the Journal analysis of 60,000 travel records. Hundreds of lawmakers traveled overseas in 2008 at a cost of about $13 million. That’s a 50% jump since Democrats took control of Congress two years ago.

Is that the long way of telling me that you don’t want to talk about Al Franken? Or the election? Perhaps a tangential topic like the now 60 Dems or something?

It was just a way to start a topic of discussion.

Or how about the fact that Norm Coleman as the guy who lost to Jesse Ventura and Al Franken? Surely there’s a story there. I wonder how many of you guys knew that.

    re: #7 by ChenZhen

No. Its my way of saying that something substantive should have been posted here on this topic if for some unknown reason you believed it was note worthy, and not some story about your own personal life, and what you “called”. This isn’t a substantive post to discuss the topic, but instead the subject of this post, as written, is YOU. That is my point!

This isn’t ChenZhen’s blog, but instead is supposed to be a substantive blog (key words: supposed to) regarding politics, and the like. If you wish to tell the world “What you called”, I’m not sure it had to be done here, and can’t quite figure out why you couldn’t have done it on your own blog. (Which, while I am at it, I believe, doesn’t even list “The Blogmocracy” on its Blogroll. What up with that?) I hate this “this is my life” junk that some post around here, as I don’t believe that is what this site should do/stand for. Although it might be interesting to you if you “called it” or not: so what?!

I meant exactly what I said, albeit with some sarcasm: that this was lame Threading and a wasted post and if you wished to gloat to the world you could/should have done it on your own personal blog.

I changed the title, and presto, its about Al Franken now. It’s OK to talk about it.

  10. 10 | July 10, 2009 6:29 pm

Coleman used to be a dem, so it is funny to hear dems hate him.

My first election, I voted for Jesse. He did 2 good things.

    1. He lowered the price of car tabs.
    2. When Wellstone died and the dems turned his memorial service into a dnc rally, he left and then appointed an independent, saying that he was going to appoint a dem until the travesty of a memorial service.

What is with Minnesota? The most staunch Dem state in the USA that always is on the precipice of falling to the Repubs but never quite makes it? In the meantime they elect funny wrestlers and unfunny comedians?

OK Chen, election predictor of note, whats going to happen in the mid terms?

Yes, sadly Al Franken is now the man who represents us here in Minnesota. He is not a Minnesotan in any sense of the word, and he does not share my views about anything at all. This is going to be a long six years. Jesse Ventura was a thin-skinned, egomaniacal moron and this clown will probably be even worse.

There is NOTHING funny about Al Franken.

BTW Chen, how would you like it if Dennis Miller were your senator?

Missing from the libtard chest thumping is any mention of the controversy surrounding how Franken “won” the election.
