Moment Of Truth(Or Lies) For Honduras!

Today is the day that the ousted President of Honduras attempts a forced return. Zelaya has promised his return with members of the OAS, and other nations Presidents, in his entourage.

At last count, there are eighteen criminal charges awaiting him if he does enter the country. His return is being backed by such radical Marxist as President Obama(U.S.), President Chavez(Ven.), President Ortega(Nicaragua), the Castro boys(Cuba), along with several other tin pots.

Another friend of Zelaya’s, that promises to accompany him in his unlawful return, is United Nations General Assembly President Miguel D’Escoto Brockman. This man has about as much in common with pro-democracy movements as his benefactor, Ortega. Mr. Brockman was Ortega’s foreign minister during the Sandinista era.

Then there is Organization of American States (OAS) Secretary General Miguel Insulza. His efforts are dubious, as it is only with a pretense of being pro-democracy, that he can advance his personal agenda of bringing Cuba into the OAS club, a supposed democratic organization.

I have been following events each day on La Gringa’s Blogicito, and she has been tireless in her efforts to get the message out to the world about what is really happening. I also detect some dejection in her tone, as it concerns the response of the U.S.

It’s ironic that on the very day that US Americans celebrate their independence, their government was party to forcing a tyrant upon the Republic of Honduras.

Can people in the United States be condemned with the judge and jury denying a defendant a chance to defend himself? Can you imagine if the OAS told your Supreme Court to reverse a decision or told you that you had to keep a corrupt president? This action is as barbaric as they claim the golpistas are.

Of course, she is correct. How can any freedom loving people turn their backs on another seeking the same.

I encourage any and all freedom lovers to go to La Gringa’s and leave a comment of support. They are possibly facing bloodshed today, if Zelaya tries to return, and it will mostly be due to provocateurs infiltrating from Venezuela. If you do chose to comment at her blog, select the anonymous category, as it has denied me when I used my blogger and Word Press access.

One other thing, the U.S. and Honduras have been allies and friends for many, many years. Honduras helped the U.S. in the early 80’s by providing assistance and shelter for the Contra forces fighting the Sandanistas, sent troops in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and continues to support a small U.S. military presence in Honduras. They are small, poor, but a faithful friend to the U.S., since the early 80’s, when they returned to a democratic state, after military rule.

President Ronald Reagan signed the Joint Honduras-United States Communique, on May 21, 1985.

They have earned, and deserve our full support.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.

Play nice!

I wasn’t thrilled to hear Greta Van Susteren is a Scientologist.
