Eternal Salvation or No Eternal Salvation?
Turkish television Kanal T is launching a game show where a Muslim imam, a Christian Priest, a rabbi and a Buddhist monk try to convert 10 atheists, reports Reuters. Converts win the pilgrimage of their chosen faith: Mecca for Muslims, the Vatican for Christians, Jerusalem for Jews and Tibet for Buddhists.
Honestly, isn’t it enough that faith in God is attacked from every conceivable direction already?
A game show to see which religious faith(which oddly includes the death cult of islam) can convert the most atheists?
Why stop there, why not a game show to see how many Darwinist can be converted to Creationist?
Or how many liberals can be converted to patriots?
Clearly this isn’t a program by and for secularists, but by and for atheists.
In one of those strange convergences of cosmic flatulence, I find myself in agreement with the ‘Religious Affairs Directorate’ of Turkey.
“Doing something like this for the sake of ratings is disrespectful to all religions,” says High Board of Religious Affairs Chairman Hamza Aktan, “Religion should not be a subject for entertainment programs.”
Since I am a Texan, and can’t or won’t ululate in Arabic, I will just say “damn straight!”

And I’ll bet that if the muslim cleric doesn’t win he will have his head chopped off in muslim Turkey
What if the Christian is Protestant?
Why don’t they include pagans?
No Hindus?

The Shintos got the shaft!

Don’t tell the Sikhs!
The imam should just blow himself up while the entire cast is together and end the show with a bang. Allahu Akbar! *Kablooey*
re: #7 by Escovado
Can the cast include Nahool the Bee and that mini slut from that Pali kids show?
re: #7 by Escovado
A veritable KaBoob-kabob.
re: #8 by savage
How about the entire cast of ‘24?’
re: #10 by no2liberals
omfg
Why was Sharmuta left out? Her challenge would be how many men are attracted to her.
Do the atheists who convert to Bhuddism or Christianity have to then be beheaded or pay the special taxes?
Heh, someone a block away is firing off fireworks. It is currently illegal in the city of oklahoma city.
Part of me thinks it is a stupid move. Another part of me cheers them on for retaking their freedom.
re: #13 by LanceKates
How do we know they actually convert, and it just isn’t al taqiyya?
Al-polygraph?
So, the White House website looks different than it did a few years ago, one section is the “Featured Legislation” which has video clips of the President signing bills.
Here’s a bill that I find classically socialistic, even the name screams “Socialist Playbook”:
Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act
Yup, include the word family, put in references to protecting children… classic socialist. What’s the bill do? It lets the FDA control tobacco so they can decrease the amount of tobacco in each cig, so that people have to smoke and buy more (thereby paying more taxes)… ahh, nothing like new taxes for the poor without the taxes being NEW… eh, comrade?
re: #15 by no2liberals
DOesn’t muslim law just require you to say the prayer and you’re considered a convert, whether you believe it or not?
Isn’t any contestant who rejects Islam liable to become seriously hurt or dead for “hurting the feelings” of Muslims? Now that I think about it, what is any atheist doing publicly broadcasting that fact in Turkey? Some Muslim might get offended and behead you! I wonder if this is really an Islamic propaganda show, where all the contests will (naturally) choose Islam, proving its superiority.
And THIS scares the hell out of me.
Federal Government to the rescue! (Translation: RUN IN FEAR!)
This show does sound as though it’s in very poor taste.
As a Baptist, I have to say a trip to the Vatican would not be meaningful to me.
How about a trip to North Carolina to have tea with Billy Graham, or a copy of a brand new Bible?
I’m guessing that the lot will just happen to all become Muslims. This is Turkish TV after all.
re: #20 by CloudyDay
It’d mean a lot to me. The Vatican archives are a treasure-trove of material on ancient societies and cultures.
What amazes me is they acknowledge the connection between Judaism and Jerusalem.
Strange days.
Good! It may not amount to a win in court, but I like the message. Palin to turn tables and give them a hefty helping of legal harassment and we’ll watch the lefturds choke on it!!!!

re: #24 by vagabond trader
There is alot of Palin hatred, both by Democrats and Republicans.
Given the leftward movement of both parties, I view that as a positive mark on her.

Unfortunately he who controls the media controls the country. If Sarah runs for office again the press will go at her doubletime. At least the threats give them pause before commencing the feeding frenzy.I’d love to see the jealous old hag Maureen Dowd brought down.

Been thinking about this. As a civilian she can do a great deal to get the message out re: true conservative values.Fiscal and personal responsibility, limited government, liberty, etc.Whether you like her or not, she has the attention of the country.
re: #40 by vagabond trader
I like her chances of breaking this full court press, scoring while being fouled, and hitting the free throw…nothing but net.
The real Duke rape case, two rump rangers offering up a 5 year old boy.

Yes, the silence on that crime is deafening.
Where is the letter of the entire Duke faculty condemning this crime?
