Bones in St. Paul’s tomb are 2000 yrs old
The Vatican has confirmed with carbon dating that the bones in the tomb of St. Paul are 2000 years old. This proves that it is more than likely that these are the bones of St. Paul. This is another case of Science backing up Judeo-Christian claims. Unlike another blogger, I don’t view Science and Religion as contradictions, but as complimentary.
Pope: Analysis on St. Paul’s bones seems to confirm belief that Roman relics belong to apostle
ROME – The first-ever scientific test on what are believed to be the remains of the Apostle Paul “seems to confirm” that they do indeed belong to the Roman Catholic saint, Pope Benedict XVI said Sunday.
It was the second major discovery concerning St. Paul announced by the Vatican in as many days.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.
Play nice!
first and the supremes side with the firemen and soto can suck it.
The bones must be destroyed they are filled with 2,000 years of CARBON, a pollutant–b.HUSSEINo.
Interesting.
Paul was supposedly beheaded in Rome, so it is a likely place for his body.

Well too bad for the Muslims. Roma is Latin and Christian territory. They already stole enough Christian Land: Lebanon, Anatolia, Syria, Egypt, North Africa.

re: #10 by LanceKates
Yeah everything belongs to them. They are even claiming that the Americas are Muslim. They claim that the word Alabama is Arabic! I am not kidding you!
re: #11 by Rodan
Well, it is Al-abama ya know. Since I was born in Al-toona, I guess they think I belong to them, NOT! I’ll keep my dawg, won’t beat my wife, love my girls and keep eating piglet.
re: #11 by Rodan
They’d hate my place. We bbq pork. The Dog sleeps inside. I don’t bomb innocents or face east to pray.
re: #11 by Rodan
Ah yes; and the russians invented everything and the whites stole all the blacks music.
Ever notice how it’s the ones who haven’t done much or are overall culturally backward that lay claim to someone else’s positive effort/results.

Saddly, None.
Regarding the topic: I got a chuckle out of the Vatican confirming carbon dating — can’t you just see a tour guide taking you from priceless relics and opening a door to show you the Holy Carbon Dating Machine.

It’s in a beautiful room in the Vatican, with a painted ceiling and beautiful carvings, priceless art.
Right next to the Disco.
This is seriously exciting news re: the relics. Its rumored the Vatican also has plunder from the Temple in Jerusalem. I know historians who were allowed to do research in their massive archives, lots of stuff there too.
re: #21 by vagabond trader
It is a priceless treasure trove, no doubt about it.

I’ve understood recently that carbon dating is not a reliable way to tell the age. Now they are saying it is?
The argument is that it becomes unreliable beyond ten to fifteen thousand years (or maybe 100 thousand, I can’ recall the precise figure now), which seems to be true. Up to that point multiple tests will tend to agree with each other. After that you get a pot luck with tests having wild differences between them, on the order of millions of years in some cases.
Er, there was no Roman Catholic church in Paul’s time. Also, Paul was a Rabbi/Pharisee whose mission was to minister to the non-Jew, or Gentile, if you will. He went there in petition to Caesar since he was also a Roman when the Jews tried to jail him. He appealed to Caesar and that was why he was there and eventually died.

The technique has improved and is now reliable.

It’s fair to call him a roman catholic saint, given they made him one at some point, though it would also be fair to just call him a christian saint.
re: #29 by archonix
Ah yes, you’re right as I didn’t consider that angle. I stand corrected.
