Not So “Private” After All

Read 1.0’s “private” thread in its entirety here (edited for appearance):

To paraphrase what Charles said about savage and Rodan when he outed them: They don’t get to hide behind a login screen while spewing hatred at us, sorry.

The mental image of a “private” online forum?

Think of two dogs sniffing each others crotches.

    Whatta circle jerk.

At least that is a form of communication.

although “spy sniffing privates” would be a good name for this new feature of 1.0

Perhaps “Cone of Silence” would be another one.

Hey, I’ve dipped my toe in paranoia so I can usually relate but I can’t fathom the use of “private threads”.

What would they comment about that they couldn’t comment in “public”. I mean THEY’RE ANONYMOUS.

Maybe what he’s up to is he intends to do more “outing” and he wants “private threads” to do it in to protect himself from any liability if he “outs” in public for anyone to see.

He’s got a pretty high opinion of his registered users if he thinks there aren’t a few with some loose screws. Someone who might think it amusing to harass or assault someone because they are heretic apostates that the “Great Leader” has condemned as unworthy of protection.

I’d be willing to bet that that is the moving force behind this.

It is you that doesn’t have a life. Sitting around all fucking day watching this blog so you can cherry pick comments and make idiotic commentary on them. If this blog were gone tomorrow, it is you that would not know what to do with yourselves. No one to stalk, no one to hate. You LIVE for this blog more than any regular here, you pathetic cowards. This blog gives you meaning in a warped, frustrated, pathetic way. Go log in another sock puppet at your site so you have more “people” to talk to.

Thanks gclaghorn, I enjoyed some popcorn with this one. And it read just like I thought it would >>BORRRRRINNNG. Sharmutie tries to be all high-falutin in open threads, but she really shows how juvenile she is when she thinks no one’s looking. And isn’t it interesting how QUICKLY most of the conversation turned to us when the door was closed. Honestly I had no idea they stalked us so much.

Truly illuminating in that regard, and well worth the popcorn.

if anyone needed an example that 1.0 had jumped the shark, there could be none better than this “private thread” concept. Basically to my way of thinking its like an admission that the blog is not popular anymore and has nothing to offer. Seeing them updinging Charles and Sharmuta in the private thread is a scream. Think about that for a moment. They’re in a thread where they think they are safe from the eyes of the outside world, and right on cue the drones still pat each other on the back and slavishly upding the king and his court. what a creepy cult.

Of course, the solution to CJ’s privacy problem could be to restrict access to those 1.0ers who have an X or above karma rating. That should keep the sockpuppets from snooping, and finally provide a tangible benefit for all the butt-kissing (which, in turn, would also drive the drama meter up a few notches).

    Watch for it!

hehehe. She LIVES in a black Box of Doom at 1.0. Tis a pity. I could say some really mean things about the physical effects of sitting at a computer all day, lack of vitamin D (sunshine) and what that does to a person and all the other pleasantries that come with being trapped in a black box of doom so desperately, but instead I will just feel sympathy for someone who is in dire need of an intervention. That must be a terrible loneliness and needing to belong there. Quite sad actually.

I agree with you. 2.0 implies a new version of a site that went left, and we are to pick up where they left off.

There are many of us here that think the 1.0 bashing should end. However, that is not to say they shouldn’t be fact-checked when warranted. They are open game as anyone else is to fact checking. For instance the recent Filip Dewinter and Marcus Beisicht fauxtography faux pas committed by them.

I realize that. As more bannings take place at 1.0, they have a place here to express their disappointment and opinions and settle in.

I was perusing the 2.0 archives and those posters that were coming here under different nics, while still at 1.0, can be identified by their avatars.

Everyone, just thought I’d share. I like to look at the “bottom comments”–for a good laugh and to see who the late lizards are. So followed a spat involving HH and another guy who doesn’t like Sharm. HH was threatening to clean the floor with the guy–which I think is an absolute riot–would that be virtual punches or a sock puppet duel at sunrise?
Anyway, I followed the string (won’t call it a thread) back to this comment by Sharmuta:

I was once told I was too much woman for one man to handle. This was strictly based off my personality. I’ve come to think it’s true. Men fear me.

I had to stop because I started to laugh and laugh and laugh.

    re: #69 by Special K

“Too much woman for one man” can mean alot of things, ESPECIALLY if someone told her that…not a good sign. Someone was trying not to hurt her feelings. It’s kind of like when I guy tells a girl, “it’s not you, it’s me” (reasons for breaking up), or “you’re a really great girl, I’m just not ready for commitment”, that kind of thing. When someone tells a woman she’s “too much woman for one man”, that conjures up all KINDS of nightmarish scenarios for me, and NONE of them are good. I doubt it was a compliment, but it’s funny she took as one and is even bragging about it. MAN, this girl must be real mess, and scary to boot.
