The Mexican Drug Cartels are now operating a training camp on US soil. The Zetas are an arm of the Mexican Drug Cartels, many of the members are former Mexican Army members now on the Cartels pay. This is an armed foreign group operating on our soil! One word for this: Invasion!
FBI: Texas drug cell trains on own ranch
The FBI is advising law enforcement officers across the country that a Texas cell of Los Zetas — an increasingly powerful arm of the Mexican Gulf Cartel drug trafficking syndicate — has acquired a secluded ranch where it trains its members to “neutralize” competitors in the United States.
In order to ensure its share of the lucrative illegal drug trade, the cartel’s members reportedly are operating north of the border to collect debts and spy on competitors. They have also protected cocaine and heroin shipments that were bound for Houston, where they were repackaged and shipped on to Alabama, Delaware, Georgia and Michigan, according to the FBI.
The information, which was disseminated Monday to state, local and federal agencies, does not provide specifics, such as the location of the ranch, but includes a notation that the information came from reliable FBI contacts.
Trainees are reportedly taught about home invasions, firearms and ways to run vehicles off the road in order to kidnap occupants who owe drug debts.
This is beyond the FBI and Law enforcement’s scope. This is a military matter and needs to be handled as a National Security threat. Unfortunately we will not take this serious until a tragedy happens. This is a threat and we must watch these developments.

/agree 100%
I don’t even think a “tragedy” will be taken seriously. I just don’t think they (politicians) care about the American people. Look how much violence is going on right now. There are already home invasions, murders and Phoenix is now the kidnap capital of the world. Our border patrol agents and even the national guard have been fired on from these thugs.
No – I don’t think a “tragedy” will do it.
“America is NOT a country, but a continent.” Was it Calderone that said that? Some idiot did. From here on in, I urge everyone to call us The United States…just that.

…no
Drop a daisy-cutter on the ranch.
Just one little problem: Posse Comitatus. We would have to undo that law in order to send in the military to clean these guys out. Which would leave all of us vulnerable to military control in our streets.

I like the way you think!
The deterioration of Mexico is the 2nd biggest threat to America after Islam. It is violent in Northern Mexico and the Government has no control. We need Military units on the border. The Zetas are well trained and can fight. This is an invasion.
These people are drug dealers and murderers. They kidnap, rape and kill with impunity throughout Mexico and we must act before our border towns suffer the same plague.
However, this should not be done by the military. As much as I dislike slippery slope arguments, I think that using federal troops as police within our borders is an absolutely awful idea. Go ahead and invade Mexico if you must, but keep those troops far away from Phoenix. America doesn’t do tanks in the street very well.
By all means, hire more cops and beef up border security. I don’t care if you arm the cops with rocket launchers and shoot on sight rules of engagement. Do whatever it takes, but do not even think about rescinding the Posse Comitatus Act.
The day I, a free citizen, am required to answer to a soldier while exercising my right to travel unhindered is the day I lose all hope.
6. Granny,
I agree with you 100%
9. Fultonchain
It is also unconstitutional IIRC.
Rodan
FANTASTIC thread!
Ok I’m out.
Number 6 – Granny
Depends, do we want to declare narcotics as a true threat to our national security, then posse comitatus is no longer a concern. If we want to call it a “war on drugs” perhaps we should treat it as such, if not, then train the police to handle such situations…
9. fultonchain and Wrath,
These Cartels are very well armed and trained. They have IED’s , RPGs and can stand and fight. No one is talking about troops in our cities. I am discussing troops on our border. The US Military is bound by the Constitution to defend this nation. The Zetas are invaders. That is where I’m coming from.

we’re talking about one ranch, near one city. law enforcement can only do so much to thwart these guys. they have the hardware and all manner of surveillance available to them (the drug cartel). these arent some rag-tag guys here. and please, the military isnt going to roll in the tanks down every avenue, dont take the argument too far.
“The day I, a free citizen, am required to answer to a soldier while exercising my right to travel unhindered is the day I lose all hope”
i trust my military far more than our government, far more. and you can blame this nonsense about the drug cartels on them and many others.
Just tell Obama and dhs that they’re right wing Constitution defenders who served in our military.
wow my last sentence was assed out. i meant to say you can blame the problem on the drug cartels and others not the military. my sentence made it seem otherwise.
speaking of illegal immigrants…. Obama’s Aunt.
government subsidized housing.
’nuff said
We could have done some real damage to the Mexican cartels had Bush used the moment after 9/11 to close the borders and severely hamper the influx of illegal immigrants.
But what did he do instead? He kept pushing his amnesty policies. A thing that 70% of Americans disagreed with.
A few days back there was a Chen thread that attempted to evaluate why the (R)’s had lost momentum. Well this is one of the issues that caused disenchantment. Another, for me, was his acquiescence to Kennedy with the No Child Left Behind Act. He was bullied by the Teachers Union lobbyist in the form of Kennedy. Also, his reluctance to use the bully pulpit and the Congress to push a conservative agenda. Instead, what did the (R)’s do. They gave half of the Hill’s power to the (D)’s in an effort to be more Compassionate with their Conservatism.
Bush lost me not too long after 9/11, and now we have here a prime example of the results of his misguided leadership.

Yeah, I know. That’s the whole slippery slope thing I hate so much. What I do know is that there are lots of Mexican drug dealers and lots of ranches.
Rodan, I’m sorry if I misunderstood you. I took your words to mean you were advocating the military taking on a domestic law enforcement role.
Border security is clearly a different matter.
Rodan is right. This is one area the Federal government is supposed to act Constitutionally – for the defense of our borders. I believe it’s actually a breach of oath to ignore our border security.
“Yeah, I know. That’s the whole slippery slope thing I hate so much. What I do know is that there are lots of Mexican drug dealers and lots of ranches.”
this i agree with. unfortuantely what ive seen over the last few years is that local law enforcement cant solve the problem alone. the military and police can certainly work together to get rid of the threat. it was tried one way, now its time for a new way.
I say that they just publish the location and let gun owning Texans take care of it.
Yes – that would work. But I liked your other idea. Telling the government they are ex-military rightwing extremists. Throw in that they’re pro-life God fearing bible thumpers and that ranch would be a crator by morning!
24. vapig
LOL
24 vapig
that’d get Charles and killgore to lead the charge
26. LanceKates
But before the crater they would be outed first.

LOL!
Well, that’s all for me folks. Have a pleasant evening!
“Well, that’s all for me folks. Have a pleasant evening!”
lol ya right, that chick will be back in less than 10 minutes hahahaha
Good night, y’all.
Now if they were only Branch Davidians then the problem would be solved.
Where is Janet Reno??
I must be the only Texan here.
It’s quite simple, one riot, one Texas Ranger.
Problem solved.
32. Buffalobob,
I thought it was Janet Doubtfire.
*SHOCKA*
Donks have more members of Congress under investigation than pachs.
The Mexican drug cartels are intertwined with the Mexican military. Their military makes regular incursions into U.S. territory to protect the drug smugglers. Having a Los Zetas training camp on U.S. soil is an act of war. It’s time to do some house cleaning.
8. Rodan
Well trained is an understatement. This is only going to get worse.
