Fitzwater wrote in his memoirs about a time when Kemp lunged at Secretary of State James Baker III in the Oval Office. The housing secretary was “nagging, nagging, nagging” Bush to recognize the breakaway Soviet satellite of Lithuania and Baker, the color rising in his face, screamed an epithet at Kemp, Fitzwater recalled. Kemp bounded across the furniture and grabbed at Baker’s throat. They were pulled apart to avoid a fistfight.

It was Kemp who confirmed that Baker said “Fuck the Jews, they didn’t vote for us” to Bill Safire and former NYC mayor Ed Koch.

speaking about race… im in south carolina. ive met a zillion black people who voted for obama but thats it,. they could care less about race. “i voted for him for what he said, black or white i dont care” they say. the majority of them down here dont like the faxt he brings up the race thing. they find it embarassing, interesting.

He apparently wrote a letter to his grandkids celebrating Obama’s election, saying it was a milestone to elect a black man.

I don’t know… it still seems counterproductive, in my mind anyway, to say you want to end racism then celebrate someone of a particular race doing something.

maybe it is just me, but if we’re to not be racist it means we need to stop looking at someone’s race. I guess I’m crazy.

Anyway, sad to hear about Kemp’s death. I’m sure the Left will use the occassion to either trash him or hold him up high and then use it as an opportunity to trash the Conservatives.

Only thing worse than a horrible life would be knowing that my death would be used to trash my friends.
