How dare you malign the character of Charles Johnson.

From the LGF 1.0 article titled “Kook lies about lies

Dated March 29, 2009

Several people have emailed this article to me today, and it’s been posted in our spinoff links twice already: Rise of sea levels is ‘the greatest lie ever told’.

The Telegraph’s Christopher Booker cites a Swedish “physicist,” Nils-Axel Mörner, who claims that every scientist and climate expert in the world is wrong, and that sea levels have not risen for 50 years.

So now I expect some types of evidence that suggests Nils-Axel Morner is incorrect. And maybe a rundown on what sea-level is or is not.

The sea has tides, low tides and high tides which are based on the lunar cycle so what we call “sea-level” is just a mean of all the above. Sea-level is not a constant it varies considerably depending on the location. Now to determine if it has changed you first have to determine what datum it was based upon before and you must determine that the land around you is not subsiding and take into account the lunar cycle.

So lets see what evidence Charles gives about this Physicist and sea levels.

So who is Nils-Axel Mörner, and how is he able to see these things that every other scientist in the world can’t?

Well, in addition to his activities “debunking” climate change, Mörner is also an enthusiast of dowsing and water witching.

And he has some very weird ideas about archaeology. See here, here, here, and here.

And he is associated with fringe wacko/antisemite/conspiracy theorist Lyndon LaRouche. Here’s an interview (PDF) he did with the LaRouche publication Executive Intelligence Review.

And he is an “allied expert” with the Natural Resources Stewardship Project, a group that is controlled by energy industry lobbyists.

Verdict: there may be credible scientists raising valid objections to anthropogenic climate change theory, but Nils-Axel Mörner is not one of them. He’s a raving kook.

That is one giant Red Herring and Ad Hominem attack. Not one link to anything with regard to changing sea-levels, there are nine links total. There are links to water witching, archaeology an interview with somebody and finally a link to a group this guy is part of. The Red Herring being the article never addressed changing sea-levels, it immediately went off tangent into Ad Hominem character assassination attacks that have nothing to do with sea-levels.

Then the writer (CJ) concludes that Nils-Axel can not be trusted about anything. The lack of any logic whatsoever is appalling, how Irish Rose and others can consider this “journalistic integrity” is beyond belief.  Why is it ok for 1.0 to attack someone’s character and as if to prove some other obscure point, yet the character of Charles Johnson is beyond reproach?

I am sure you have noticed this is not an isolated incident these types of fallacious arguments and character assassinations are the norm in all attacks by LGF1.0 & CJ.

The irony of him calling others “kooks” is very comical.

Its all rehash but other 1.0 Attacks here and here.

Thanks a lot bar for making me look at 1.0.

Mr. Johnson has a post up remembering the Holocaust. His feigned demonstration of empathy for this atrocity will be followed up by threads later to mock and demean the believing Jews faith in a Creator.

How dare you malign my “Chuckie Wuckie”, the father of my illicit, same-sex, satanic, puppy-mill, hermaphroditic love child.

He will be crushed and likely not to wear the dominance collar specially tailored to his effeminate neck.

How dare you all. Now I have to lie to the sad little poof that he is respected and loved.

Shame on you, you hateful people.

Hey, Savage. Sorry to be a stranger but as you can imagine I’ve been distracted (mostly alcoholism and incoherent blogging elsewhere).

I like what you’ve done with your site. Very spiffy and the drapes complement the couch.

    Missed ya,

Thanks for the kind words, Noz.

Outside of working 65+ hours a week, it’s pretty hard to get on the blog lately. Arwyn, bar, wrath and a few others helped get the site going and making it all pretty. You can thank all of them also.

Well, then, congrats all around. You’re lucky to have such talented friends. Friends that should be acknowledged for their committment to the fleeting concept of free-unadulterated-speech.

The manner of the winds lately has given me pause that your site and others might be chopping block in the next 18 months.

Scary times, indeed. I get the feeling a new generation will be introduced to the concept of “fascism”. Gee, I hope its just he Pabst talking.

The way 1.0 continues to use guilt by association tactics, and otherwise bait-and-switch when presenting an argument against someone/something, I still wish to know 1.0’s stance on their being STRANGE BEDFELLOWS

Or their explanation as to why/how they linked to Richard Bartholomew insofar that he is Anti-Israel, bitterly Anti-Christian Zionist, and chuckles at Replacement theology. (http://barthsnotes.wordpress.com/2009/04/20/christian-zionist-attack-on-bishop-tom-wright/)

    As I pointed out yesterday.

How long before the Mother Chucker goes 100% “Howard Hughes” and locks himself away, stops cutting his hair and nails, demands that every surface be disinfected, etc.?

OK, admittedly, he’s already headed in that direction what with the long, greasy hair and the purging of his precious little sinkhole of a site, but how long before he’s finally found dead at his Mac POS computer, his neighbors having checked on him not out of any particular concern for his well-being, but because of the even fouler-than-usual stench emanating from his apartment in his mother’s basement?

    1. Israel, the United Kingdom, and the United States are the root of all evil. Commonly referred to as the “imperialist bastards”.

    2. The Bush years were the “dark ages” of torture and the subjugation of poor “misunderstood” colored folk. Because misunderstood people sometimes behead those that draw cartoons or dishonor their families.

    3. Free speech has been abused by the “right” and it is only “just” and “sane” when expressed by the Progressives.

    4. Paying your fair share of taxes is “patriotic”, though not to be construed as binding by the those that state such.

    5. Government is evil and tryrannous, but with stipulations (SEE #4).

    6. Hate speech is in the eye of the beholder. If you are leftist-marxist-Democrat you possess the only vision that counts. Code Pink = good; Tea Party = bad.

    7. The Republican’s fiscal and social policy was irresponsible and deserved to be overthrown; the cure is steroids and triple lattes.

    8. U.S. foreign policy is…don’t get me started. I hope folks are ready for the use of nuclear weapons in their lifetime. It’s just a matter of when and where.

#18: Followed by an artistic photo of a close- up of some bicycle spokes.

Re #19: I saw an author (Patrick Michaels) interviewed today about climate change… he said scientists today are concerned about global cooling, not global warming.

This Michaels guy said that the sun has gotten colder in the past few years. (His book is called Climate of Extremes and is available at Amazon.com)

    Global Cooling Earth’s Little-Known Threat

    Excerpts:

    From Hot to Cold?

But what if the Earth was no longer warming, but cooling? One image shows how the sun has looked for most of 2008 and 2009– devoid of any sunspots. NASA says sunspot activity is now at a 100 year low.

“The sun is very cold right now and when there are no sunspots, the sun is cold, and that is one of the reasons we haven’t seen warming for the past 12 years or so,” said former Virginia state climatologist Patrick Michaels.

“We haven’t seen any net change in temperature for about 12 years now,” Michaels added. “We had a warming that began in 1977 and ended somewhere in late1997, and it hasn’t been seen since.”

Michaels is the author of the book, Climate of Extremes, about the current political and scientific environment, in which facts like the current lack of warming get trampled in the rush to “save the planet.”

….Connecting the Sun and ‘Global Cooling’

At the Danish Space Institute, they are testing a theory that may explain the connection between a lack of solar activity and cooling: the Svensmark Cosmic Ray Theory.

The earth is constantly being bombarded with cosmic rays, high-energy particles from exploding stars.

The Svensmark Cosmic Ray Theory says that when these cosmic rays enter the Earth’s atmosphere, they help create clouds.

An active sun strengthens a magnetic shield around the earth that lets fewer cosmic rays get through.

If the sun is less active, more cosmic rays get through.

And the more cosmic rays, the more clouds, and the cooler global temperatures will be.

The theory has its scientific critics, but it is also viewed as politically incorrect in some quarters to expend resources on climate theories that might compete with the dominant view of human-induced climate change.

    surprisingly fun game.

That reminded me of the similar game someone who was anti-Israel brought out where you got to be the IDF and build missles, helicopters, and tanks and blow the ______ out of Hamas in Gaza (they considered every person dead in Gaza a “civilian” though of course)

After you were done it gave some shpeil about how big, bad, disproportionate, and horrible the IDF was etc….but I just really enjoyed smacking down Hamas.

I think the point was lost on me. :)

There was an old school game called Commando Libya on the C-64. You shoot the crazies that run at you until you reach a bonus stage. That bonus stage had several helpless Libyans lined up against a brick wall and you just shot them at will.

At the very end, 3 unlucky enemies would walk up to a guillotine and you’d choose your initial before the blade dropped their head into the basket below revealing your initials.
