<a href="http://www.kimatv.com/news/41542702.html" rel="nofollow">Gateway Pundit has an excellent post</a> on Iran from before the time Jimmy Carter and Z-Big got their slimy hands on them.
From the way back machine, here is an article from Anti-Mullah on Jimmy Carter.
<a href="http://noiri.blogspot.com/2004/03/jimmy-carters-illegal-demands-on-shah.html" rel="nofollow">Jimmy Carter's Illegal Demands On Shah.</a>
A friend of mine, who I have known for many years, was a former fighter pilot in the Iranian Air Force. While serving the Shah, he told me he would fly from Iran to Tel Aviv several times a month for maintenance, or avionics upgrades on the F-4 and F-5 fighters. These flights were always solo, and unarmed, and never had a problem. He stated he loved visiting Tel Aviv, for it's cleanliness, modernity, and for the hospitality of the Israeli people.
When the revolution came, he decided that since Iran would still need an Air Force, and that it was his homeland, he would stay, unlike so many he knew who fled.
One day, some time after Khomeini took charge, he mentioned to one of his best friends, in private, that he thought the Ayatollah may not be serving the best interest of Iran.
The next day he was arrested, and thrown in a prison in the mountains near the Caspian. He was beaten and tortured nearly every day, for eight years, had all of his teeth knocked out, and given a cell with no temperature control, no bunk, and no blankets. He believed he was to never leave the prison alive.
One day, he was taken from his cell, allowed to shower, given new clothes, and ushered to a prison officials office. He was certain this was the end. Instead, they pushed a document across the table and told to sign it. When he started to read it, they said to just sign it. Glancing at the document, he realized it was prison release. The last name was the same as his, but the first name was a woman's name. Quickly he determined they were too illiterate to understand, he signed it, they released him, and he called his wife in Tehran, told her where to meet him with the kids, and they fled, eventually making it to the U.S.
His youngest son is now a practicing attorney, here in Texas, and my friend has been a frequent guest of Senate subcommittee hearings on the MEK's status as a terrorist organization.
He doesn't bang his head for Ol Moh, no'mo'.
