Think Progress defends Iranian Regime

The Leftists at Think Progress are upset that Israeli President called for the Iranian people to overthrow their Islamo-Fascist Regime.

Israeli President Contradicts Obama’s Message To Iran, Urges Iranians To ‘Topple’ Their Government

Israeli President Shimon Peres also delivered a “special message” to Iran on Nowruz, but “was addressed specifically to Iran’s people and not their government, reprising the tone of [former President] Bush.” And Peres explicitly contradicted Obama and called on the Iranian people to overthrow their government:

“[I suggest] you don’t listen to [Iranian President Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad, it is impossible to preserve a whole nation on incitement and hatred, the people will become tired of it. […] I think that the Iranian people will topple these leaders…these leaders who don’t serve the people, in the end the people will realize that.”

I see nothing wrong with what Peres did. Think Progress does right here:

MJ Rosenberg at the Israel Policy Forum writes that Peres’s goal may have been to “intentially undermine” Obama and that the Iranians might not view the conflicting messages as just a coincidence.

Think Progress is bordering on conspiracy theories. Think progress openly supports the Iranian regime. I guess it is Progressive to Stone Women and Hang Gays. The Leftist-Islamic Alliance is all about hatred of the Judeo-Christian/Greco-Roman Civilization. The Left views Iran as an ally. Therefore they will defend them no matter what. They are the true Fascist, Progressives=Fascists!

Rodan, this is TP you are talking about, of course they are whacked.
W called for the Iranian people to do the same thing, in almost the same words, and even devoted money and covert operatives for the purpose.
It was what inspired the IRI to produce this truly bizarre propaganda video in Feb 07.

I was actually banned by several right wing web sites (blogs) because I dared to call for the US citizens to rise up and demand the ARREST and Trial of all of the US Congress for high crimes and treason..

and I quoted the US Constitution..

    here is my point..

Very soon, people who do NOT TOE the Official OBAMA , Pelosi , democraps and republcreeps official line

i honestly believe I will end up being on a terrorist watch list..

    Did you get that..
so for the liberals to be mad because someone wants to overthrow their friendly islamic overlords is nothing compared to what is coming down the pipe real quick.

    Intentionally undermine Obama?

Someone needs to remind them that he IS the Israeli President. Obama doesn’t have authoritiy over Israel even if he thinks he does. His priority should be Israel not making the boy king look good.

I was listening to Byron York on the radio, a few days ago, and he made the comment that, ever since Nixon opened relations with China in the early 70’s, every administration has wanted to have their own China, and that Iran is B-HO’s attempt.
Never mind he doesn’t understand shiite about the way the Mad Mullahs think.
Michael Ledeen wrote a piece last month, that explains the problem in dealing with Iran.

The only person who really matters in Iran is the supreme leader (Khomeini at the time, Khamenei today), but his power is so awesome that underlings are reluctant to go to him unless they feel they are able to deliver a full package, not just steps en route to an agreement. No bargain can be struck that way. It takes time to work out a deal, but we can’t have any confidence that any of the pieces have really been approved, whatever our interlocutors may say. At the end of the process, and only then (assuming that the talks themselves have been approved), will we get approval or rejection. For thirty years, it’s been rejection.

If the Mad Mullahs were successfully removed by a revolution, with or without assistance from the U.S. or Israel, it would present another set of challenges, and most likely an unholy mess. The oil rich areas are predominately in the Arab dominated regions, while the majority of the population, and that of real Persians, is in the mountainous enclave region.
Let TP howl and moan about that which they do not understand. The majority of the Iranian population does not support the current regime, but until things get bad enough where their version of the middle class is severely effected, there will be no revolution.

    Great read, n2l.

In the Clinton Administration in 1999 and 2000, we tried, very hard, to put the grand bargain on the table. And we tried. We made 12 separate gestures to Iran to try to demonstrate to them that we really meant it, and we were really willing to go the full nine yards and put all of these big carrots on the table if the Iranians were willing to give us what we needed. And the Iranians couldn’t.

Pollack’s choice of words is spot-on: the Iranians couldn’t. They couldn’t, because hatred of America is the very essence of the Islamic Republic. To cease that enmity, to call off the thirty years’ war against us, would be tantamount to changing the nature of the regime itself. Can you imagine Hitler striking a grand bargain with the Jews, or Mao with the bourgeoisie? It’s much the same with the mullahs.

    And here we go again.

    From n2l’s link

But John Ederer, imam of the Islamic Foundation of South Florida, said Ali is ascribing the teachings of fringe elements to all Muslims.
    [...]
The Ku Klux Klan and other white supremacy groups can do the same with the words of the Bible to convince a commoner of their ideology.”

That is a bunch of bullshit. I cant find anywhere in the Bible where it says white guys are the greatest and everyone else sucks. Besides how can the KKK claim to believe in a Jewish God yet they hate Jews?

Islam does teach that Arabs are the best of all men and Moslems are the height of morality.

    bar,
I always question the intelligence of anyone who buys into that nonsense. Or at least their agenda.
It’s like B-HO. So many proclaim his brilliance, yet I’ve not seen any evidence of it. To me, he is as bright as a 40W bulb in deep space.

Speaking of B-HO, Mark Steyn has his typically brilliant piece up.
Mark Steyn: AIG execs the new ‘enemy combatants.’
    Barack Oprompta…brilliant!

Gateway Pundit has an excellent post on Iran from before the time Jimmy Carter and Z-Big got their slimy hands on them.
From the way back machine, here is an article from Anti-Mullah on Jimmy Carter.
Jimmy Carter’s Illegal Demands On Shah.
A friend of mine, who I have known for many years, was a former fighter pilot in the Iranian Air Force. While serving the Shah, he told me he would fly from Iran to Tel Aviv several times a month for maintenance, or avionics upgrades on the F-4 and F-5 fighters. These flights were always solo, and unarmed, and never had a problem. He stated he loved visiting Tel Aviv, for it’s cleanliness, modernity, and for the hospitality of the Israeli people.
When the revolution came, he decided that since Iran would still need an Air Force, and that it was his homeland, he would stay, unlike so many he knew who fled.
One day, some time after Khomeini took charge, he mentioned to one of his best friends, in private, that he thought the Ayatollah may not be serving the best interest of Iran.
The next day he was arrested, and thrown in a prison in the mountains near the Caspian. He was beaten and tortured nearly every day, for eight years, had all of his teeth knocked out, and given a cell with no temperature control, no bunk, and no blankets. He believed he was to never leave the prison alive.
One day, he was taken from his cell, allowed to shower, given new clothes, and ushered to a prison officials office. He was certain this was the end. Instead, they pushed a document across the table and told to sign it. When he started to read it, they said to just sign it. Glancing at the document, he realized it was prison release. The last name was the same as his, but the first name was a woman’s name. Quickly he determined they were too illiterate to understand, he signed it, they released him, and he called his wife in Tehran, told her where to meet him with the kids, and they fled, eventually making it to the U.S.
His youngest son is now a practicing attorney, here in Texas, and my friend has been a frequent guest of Senate subcommittee hearings on the MEK’s status as a terrorist organization.
He doesn’t bang his head for Ol Moh, no’mo’.
