‘Maybe Limbaugh Should Be Executed For Treason’

rush-limbaugh

On Tuesday, liberal talk radio host Stephanie Miller called Rush Limbaugh’s now well-publicized statement about wanting Barack Obama to fail “treasonous,” and wondered if he should be executed for saying such a thing.

Miller made this rather provocative comment on CNN’s “Larry King Live,” and oddly nobody batted an eye or seemed at all put off by it.

Not surprisingly, the topic of discussion between King and his guests — which other than Miller included the Huffington Post’s Arianna Huffington, conservative talk radio host Lars Larson, and GOP strategist Nancy Pfotenhauer — was all the brouhaha surrounding Limbaugh .

Can you feel the liberal love?

    Victrola, Ha!

I want him to fail in turning our country into a socialized shithole, too!

Now if his objective was to make America stronger, keep us protected, and fix health insurance instead of forcing gubmint healthcare on us, I’d be all for it.

I am not a fan of Limbaugh. He’s too elitist for my taste. I am a Michael savage guy, but to call for his death is madness. I bet if someone on the right called for Olbermann’s death the Left would be up in arms!

I find it interesting that most of the folks criticizing Rush have never listened to his show. This flap about wanting Obama to fail is a perfect illustration. He stated that he wants his policies to fail, as do I. The MSM makes it sound as though he wants the entire country to suffer and fail, and that is not what he said at all.
Let them continue to bash Rush- he can take it. This may cause some people to tune in to hear what he is saying, which is a very good thing.

It is typical of liberals to trash those they can’t refute. The progressive *cough* lie is exposed and all they can do is complain and attempt to silence him.

Hmmmm, if we can execute Rush for treason, can we execute all those people who called Bush “Chimpy” or “Bushitler” while he was in office, and said they hoped somebody would assassinate him, and/or they hoped the Iraq war would fail?

    Because that’s pretty treasonous too.

Just remember, all you pro Obama people—we warned you about him.

  13. 13 | March 6, 2009 11:23 am

These types of comments from a Liberal radio host are unfortunatly not uncommon.

Possibly because I am a masochist, I often listen to Air America, and Pacifica Radio.

These types of statements are not unique.

Yaza said “Hmmmm, if we can execute Rush for treason, can we execute all those people who called Bush “Chimpy” or “Bushitler” while he was in office, and said they hoped somebody would assassinate him, and/or they hoped the Iraq war would fail?”

Sorry, Yaza, the only answer to your questions is “That’s different” — for liberals it’s always different — working with them means agreeing with them and helping to implement their policies. They believe they act in a principled, moral, compassionate manner and therefore anyone who disagrees necessarily must be evil since there cannot be competing compassionate ideas.

So whenever I would launch into a list of questions and comparisons like you just did my husband and I would look at each other and say “That’s different” — and crack up. I just lost my husband Monday, so today I get to say it to you — “all together now — that’s different.”

Rush is a very bright bulb surrounded by a bunch of malcontents that can’t hold a candle to him collectively to outshine him.

He reaches beyond each complainants constituency, and goes for the big fish. That is, their corporate idealism, and reaches and affects the top of their progressive pyramid. The B. Hussein Train of socialists.

That is why they must group together to destroy the man. No one lefty individual can do it. His rightness is beyond the ability of a small group of deceivers and they know it; thus they need a concerted dogpile effot to mislead the people who aren’t paying attention, and satisfy the sycophants on their side who disregard the truth.

The Left considers Rush to be an “extremist” because he uses straightforward language, satire, and ridicule. His political philosophy, however, is not in the least “extreme,” nor have I ever heard him attack Democrats with the ugly epithets that the Left REGULARLY uses for conservatives.

They need SOMEONE to focus their hate on, don’t they? As I recall, Rush was the leftists’ devil in the early Clinton years, before they had Newt Gingrich to attack. Then they had Bush, Rove, & Cheney. Now they need another fallguy. It’s part of the Saul Alinsky playbook: PERSONALIZE, marginalize, demonize.

    Glad you got it.

If only I had devoted the time spent learning music to the political maybe my address to the issue would be better.

And you’re right about the need for a whipping boy. The biggest voice that is exposing the deceit of the left is the biggest target.

Of the few you mentioned only Gingrich is close to the mental ability of Rush. But there are others. Bork, Roberts and Scalia to name a few, but they don’t have a radio show that reaches millions every day and none too few worry warts on the left who hate the idea that their laundry is on display.

  30. 30 | March 6, 2009 1:47 pm

Wow ChildOfMary, I know I don’t know you, but my condolences as well. I’m very sorry for your loss but I’m glad that you are comforted in knowing that he is in a place of peace, as you make it sound beautiful.

I agree with Bar on this one, on how important faith is. Bar, I also lost my Dad a few years ago (5 now) to brain cancer. I was agnostic at the time. I fell into desolation while watching others grieving his loss buoyed by their faith, even if it was only a little bit. I had none. Dad, however, did have faith. He knew he was going to a better place and a place with “his” Lord, which comforted me somewhat at first, and a great deal later when I finally became a Christian two years after losing him. My faith is what keeps me going, and I’m happy that Child of Mary is able to have the gift of faith, because it really truly is a gift.

  31. 31 | March 6, 2009 1:53 pm

Oh, about Limbaugh, does this remind anyone of NPR’s Nina Totenberg’s comment about wishing AIDS on (I think) Jesse Helms? Or was it his whole family and him? Ann Coulter used to bring that up a lot. I remember that much. No one even brought it up and that’s frankly worse to me than this even, as this woman prefaced her comment with the comment about saying something to get attention.

Rodan–I’m with you, I find Limbaugh boring to a fault honestly, and elitist as well. Very elitist. I love listening to Savage as well. I don’t agree with him, almost never actually, but he’s so honest about his own faults. I remember once he said he was probably bipolar but that he was far better off with his mood swings not being medicated….LOL….that’s why I like listening to him. That and he always manages to throw in a “bad restaurant experience” story in before the 1st break. Almost EVERY TIME! I love it!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts, prayers, and virtual hugs.

When the opposition started to say Rush was the leader of the Republicans I just laughed outloud — it was certainly news to me. Too bad he isn’t, we might have had a different candidate than McCain.

On another thread, and other times here, I have urged folks to read “Liberal Fascism” by Jonah Goldberg — it’s history like most of us have never seen it before — and you learn how the “progressives” think, plot, and work to get their way — and it’s a good read, not at all dull, and many pages will astonish. I read it during the election and I kept seeing so many parallels — it was downright spooky, but we need the info to fight back effectively.

And the left spent all 8 years of Bush’s time in office saying in one form or another – and sometimes bluntly- that they wanted Bush to fail, they wanted his administration’s policies to fail, and they wanted the Iraq war, started under Bush, to fail. Such hypocrites.

Rodan: I would never think of Rush as an elitist. I know he’s filthy rich, but he still comes across to me like a regular, average Joe.

Ahhh…. The Left… once again taking the Constitution and pissing on it.

    Media Out On A Limbaugh

Here are some quotes from page 2 of that editorial:

Anyway, it’s odd that all Americans are apparently supposed to suddenly fall into line behind the president. Sure, we all want the country to succeed — but many of us (Limbaugh included) think Obama’s policies would take the country in the wrong direction. It’s unclear why anyone would support, for example, the socialization of health care. It hasn’t worked in the U.K. or Canada, so why import it?

It’s also worth remembering that, during the Bush years, liberals not only wanted the president to fail, they actively worked to bring about his failure. That’s called “politics.” In fact, they even declared he’d failed when he hadn’t.

Remember Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s announcement in April 2007 that, “this war is lost and the surge is not accomplishing anything as indicated by the extreme violence in Iraq yesterday”? That came as Americans were fighting and dying in Iraq, so the stakes were slightly higher than they are today when we wonder whether the president will succeed in his attempts to federalize the health care system.

If we’d followed Reid’s advice, or that of his then-fellow Sen. Barack Obama, the U.S. would have lost the war in Iraq. Instead, it’s generally accepted that, because of the surge, we’ve won.

One thing is clear: the White House listens to Limbaugh. It was only after Rush criticized Obama for failing to talk up the markets that Obama suddenly decided to remind people that this might be a good time to buy stocks. Coincidence?

I know it hurts, but everyone grieves in their own way, so if your Mom just can’t visit the gravesite, accept that — we are all different and there is no formula that is right or wrong. Some things are more harmful than others but this way of coping does not seem harmful and that’s the measure we should use.

Lex: Oh, about Limbaugh, does this remind anyone of NPR’s Nina Totenberg’s comment about wishing AIDS on (I think) Jesse Helms?

me: Uh…. no? Rush isn’t wishing death and harm on the President….. Just hoping that his socialist hopes and dreams for America fail.

It is kind of in poor taste to compare the two. But if you WANT to play that game, how about the leftist groups that chanted for Bush’s death, and the film maker that made a movie about killing President Bush?

You really CAN’T compare the two. Well, you can, but it only makes you look silly.

Lance–I was referring to the woman on Larry King talking about Limbaugh, not what Limbaugh said. The wording was a bit confusing in the post, but I thought that woman was saying that Limbaugh should be executed. Limbaugh’s opinion is his own, & I hardly think he should be harmed for having it (or saying it).

I like Wordpress — I think they have the most features — there are two flavors, one hosted there and you are restricted to whatever the template you choose allows, but I chose a template that has a lot of options and I live within what they provide with no problems.

The second flavor is where you download their program and then you can change code, etc. — my desire to code ended a few years age.
