Casinos

These are pictures I took on one of my many trips to Las Vegas. I wanted to see how well the camera would do night scenes and I was pleased at the results. The casinos are on Fremont and Main in downtown LV.
If anyone wants the full size pics, let me know and I’ll fire them off to you. I have many more.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.
Play nice!
I wanna go…
Nice pics Savage, makes me wish I were back there!!! Spent four days in Las Vegas in February, where I stayed at the Golden Nugget. Definitely not as many tourists this year (which I sort of liked since it was much easier to get around). Also, it looks like Vegas hotel rooms are getting cheaper and the table rules are improving, so there is a good side to this recession LOL…..
Oh, Savage, you’re bringin’ out mah inner Elvis with these pics…
“Viiiiiiiiiiiva! Viiiiiiiiiiiiiva! Las Vegas!”
Binion’s, in the upper right corner is one of the classic 40’s casinos on Fremont street. They’ve got a great steakhouse.
Oooohhh purrty
I stay at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay. That was my spot!
Savage–great pics! I’ve only ever been in the Vegas airport to change planes (and yes, I threw a quarter in a slot machine there before running to my connecting flight). Vegas seems really great for pictures (and yours are really good), but it looks rather gaudy, is it really gaudy when you’re there? Or am I just vaguely remembering “The Stand”…LOL?
I need some suggestions folks, I want to photoshop Charles. I haven’t hit him yet. What do you guys think I should (badly, I really suck at pshop) turn Charles into?
My father, back when the Golden Nugget was the hot place to be, used to play there with his band.
It’s sad, many of the classic casinos on the Strip where Elvis, the Rat Pack and Ann-Margaret played have been torn down to make room for the new Mega Casinos. A lot of them are cool, but Vegas should have had some sense of historical preservation. As Michael Savage would say, those old casinos were evocative of the days when “the chrome was thick and the women were straight.” LOL.
Nice pics El Presidente.
Savage great pics!
Annie,
I see on the side bar you got something other than a modified stop sign as gravatar.
Wooo whoo…I will be there next week!
I like these pictures because
(1) I love urban night pictures.
(2) They’re both artistic and interesting.
(3) They aren’t some stupid bolt, piece of wood, or bicycle chain.
Savage
Are you trying to
goat[goad] me into posting my Bob’s Big Boy sign picture?Ironically, my digital camera is better than my wife’s, yet hers takes better pictures at night.
Of course it could be the operator of said camera.
bar,
“Are you trying to goat me into posting my Bob’s Big Boy sign picture?”
Goad…I think you meant goad. Maybe you would trade your picture for a goat? Who knows?
Escovado
Damn, you are correct.
Well so much for feeling smart.
Don’t sell youself short. You might get a good deal for the goat…you may be on to something there! :O)
