In any case, Saddam's brutal dictatorship is gone and replaced by an elected constitutional government. We now have an ally instead of an enemy. Perhaps a country other than Iraq would have been a better choice, but we will never know that. If it turns out that Iraq becomes a prosperous democracy and the other arab states are forced to follow suit, then the Iraq war will have been a resounding success and history will judge GWB very favorably.
