Obama To Terrorists: ‘You Win’

Obama has announced that the Iraqi insurgency has won. Beginning August 31, 2010, the American infidels will tuck tail and run.

Personally, I would have preferred a swarm of Apache AH-64 Gunships flying non-stop missions. If they aired their engagements on Pay-Per-View, we could take a chunk out of the deficit.

This would be my message to the terrorists:

How are we cutting and running? Iraq has stablized and there’s really no need for that many combat troops. Besides the Iraq war was a waste. It gained us nothing and Bush didn’t help the Chaldean and Asyyrian Christians being killed there.. Saudi Arabia and Iran was the problem. Personally I would of attacked Iran, Iraq and teh saudis, but I would do it Mongol style. Go in and destroy their civilizations. No rebuilding let them kill each other. I’m sick of America helping Muslims.

Rodan, you don’t tell an enemy when you are leaving. That’s just crazy.

Instead of engaging, insurgents will simply lay low, blend in with the population, infiltrate government and law enforcement, and on September 1st, 2010, THEY control Iraq, not the Iraqi government.

Obama just pissed on the graves of every person who fought for Iraqi freedom.

I agree the way this war was operated was a waste. Our soldier’s had their hands tied. Every move they had to question whether they might later be charged with a crime. That was bullshit.

We should have separated politics from military. We should have banned the media. We should have bombed the entire country back to the 7th century and let them start over. And we should NOT have rebuilt anything in any region that supported, or continued to support insurgents.

I believe you have dangerously mischaracterized what Obama is able to do, and thus doing.

The policies of the Bush Administration, although a mishandled in the beginning, were retooled and have created gains. Changes in the war plan including “the surge”, turned the tide in Iraq and we have achieved Victory!

Obama is simply stealing the glory of Bush’s policy, and leadership. He is swooping in at the end of the game, and claiming the win.

This is NOT a surrender, and we should not propagate that harmful interpretation.

We fought, we won…..and now we are going home!

We “withdrew” from Germany many years ago yet still have bases there.
    And Japan. And Korea.

Will the U.S. establish any long term military bases in Iraq?
Perhaps a joint U.S. & Iraqi facility of some sort such as an air base?
If so, then IMHO this announcement of an Aug-31-2010 withdrawal is just politics.

  8. 8 | February 27, 2009 11:40 am

    I’m going with Wrath.

If we call it surrender, that’s on us.

“Winning” doesn’t mean we have to stay forever. And if the place goes to shit after we’re gone, that’s on them.

  9. DJM
    9 | February 27, 2009 11:42 am

WrathofG-d – I disagree. Telling the enemy we are going to leave on XXXX date is an invitation to defeat. Maybe not a military defeat, but certainly a political defeat.

If Obama had kept his mouth shut, privately made the deadline, and allowed our troops to continue destroying the insurgency for the next year and a half, it would have been a victory.

Announcing to your enemy that you will leave on a certain date only gives them an advantage – all they have to do is to go underground, blend with the populous. And on September 1st, 2010, re-armed, well rested, and with hordes of new recruits, strike back at the Iraqi government.

From Sun Tzu on the Art of War:

“Ground which can be abandoned but is hard to re-occupy is called entangling. From a position of this sort, if the enemy is unprepared, you may sally forth and defeat him. But if the enemy is prepared for your coming, and you fail to defeat him, then, return being impossible, disaster will ensue.”

Arwyn, “winning” also doesn’t mean announcing your plans to the enemy!

This is a politic victory to the Islamic insurgents. It will be a recruitment tool which will ultimately strengthen the insurgency.

BuddyG – Germany and Japan were completely different enemies compared to religious fanatics. The Germans and the Japanese were not willing to face utter destruction, nor were they brainwashed into believing ‘paradise’ was the only goal.

The Japanese Kamikazes were incredibly close to the Jihadist today.

The Japanese considered their Emperor to be divine and dying in battle a great honor that had its rewards, although not the same rewards that Islam offers.

Obama has announced that the Iraqi insurgency has won. Beginning August 31, 2010, the American infidels will tuck tail and run.

    That’s just ridiculous. It’s a disengagement that’s long overdue.

Think about it. By August 2010 we’d have been there well over seven years, and if we hadn’t fixed what we set out to fix by then, well, I think its safe to say that it can’t be fixed. Of course, we never should have gone in in the first place, but it is what it is.

  28. 28 | February 27, 2009 12:43 pm

    Needleman,

First, I agree with Arwyn, and Tunnelrat when they say that Rodan is only expressing his own opinion. His statements can only be attributed to him. We don’t delete, ban, or discourage free speech here at the Blogmocracy, even if it is offensive, unpopular, or otherwise counters our own beliefs. I know this concept is unique for many of the blogs you probably frequent, but stick around, I am sure you will get used to it.

Now, a point as to your inability to read before getting emotional. Had Rodan said “all Muslims should die”, I would definitely agree with you that those sentiments are gross and offensive. It should state at this point that like Rodan, I too am an Admin.) However, after actually reading what was written you might notice that Rodan said “This would be my message to the terrorists”.

The important portion of that statement to pay attention to is the term “Terrorists”. He didn’t say “Muslims” or “towel heads” or “Sharia loving Muzzie-funkers”, he said “Insurgency” in the first line and “Terrorists” in the last.

The fact that you see or hear “Muslim” when someone types or says “terrorist” might actually tell us more about your thinking than it does Rodan’s.

However on Rodan’s point, I would imagine that most Americans, and liberty loving human beings would actually agree. I too would like every Terrorist to be defeated. You wouldn’t? A defeat of terrorism, and terrorists would not only benefit the rest of the Iraqi society (the majority of which, although Muslim, are not terrorists) who too are suffering from terrorist violence, but would also benefit the U.S. and world security.

Lastly, it would be greatly preferred (assuming you would actually come back to defend your personal attacks, and illogical statements) if you could proceed on this site in the future without so many curse words. They don’t help your already flawed argument one bit.

I confirm my previous statements that the opinions of Rodan are simply Rodan’s, and not of this blog in general. I do however take back some of my harsh criticism of you as I now see that he calls for a complete destruction of their civilization. This I do not support as I understand it.

FWIW. I developed an alternative measure, and on my blog I prefer to use the “ban stick” as a last resort. It has proven to be quite effective, actually. Nobody seems to like having a white flag by their posts. Plus, it saves quite a bit of time, as you don’t really have to type some long-winded rebuttal to the provocateur. The Emblem speaks for itself: “You lose” Period. The End.
