A co-worker of a GCP commenter needs some prayers…

I’m just gonna cut and paste it. It’s a coworker of Princess Bernie over there at GCP

A co-worker of mine, late 20’s, married, has a 15 month old daughter, became suddenly ill on February 13 and went into a coma. He has not awakened. Dr.s diagnosed encephalitis, but have not been able to determine a cause. Bacterial tests negative. Viral tests have ruled out numerous options. He’s on a respirator and has not awakened from the coma in two weeks. Lots of details about his treatment and case are available on his Caring Bridge site, but I do not want to post the link here.

If you would like that link, PM me and I’ll send it to you.

His wife is amazing and her faith is strong. They seem to be doing all they can for him, he’s been in ICU pretty much the whole time. Yesterday they went ahead and put in a tracheotomy and a feeding tube directly into his stomach because he was becoming agitated with the ng tube and the respirator tube in his throat. Over the last couple of days he has become more active and they think he can hear them, he just can’t seem to wake up. His MRI shows his brain is not swollen any more although he does continue to have seizures – mostly minor ones that don’t manifest physically.

So please add him to your prayers and ask your church community to pray for him, too.

I’m sending out a prayer to St. Christopher and St. Pantaleon. I hope this young guy gets better.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.

Play nice!

God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Israel,
We ask You in the Name of Your Son Jesus, that You take care of Princess Bernie’s co-worker, and that You send Your Holy Spirit to heal what needs to be healed.
We ask You, Lord, not trusting in our goodness (there is none) or in our power (there is none) not even in our knowledge (we don’t have enough), but in Your mercies and Your love for us.

Thank You for always being in our side, even when we disobey Your Commandments.

    In Jesus’ Name.

    Amen!

Comfort the parents and help them endure, Lord.
Shine your love on the little one and his family. Amen.

Savage——–Remember how goddess of the classroom had a prayer list— and how she would put it up once a week or so—and how people would often ask her to add things—-or when someone mentioned troubles, people would say how that needs to be g-o-c’s prayer list? Remember that?

She has (courageously) sneaked it in once or twice in the last few months on her own initiative, but no one mentions it anymore.

    Anastasia,

I was on that prayer list a few times. I hope goddess didn’t get banned over there, she is a good egg.

    Anastacia,
She got the message from Darwinist rage boy’s posts: no God allowed in there.

I once had meningococcal encephalitis, very nearly killed me.The treatment for it was benzylpenicillin.

Hope your friend makes a full recovery.

Wrath “We have a Jewish thread, & prayers to Jesus on the same BLOG?”

Of course! Afterall, Jesus was Jewish.
Michelangelo made a nice painting of his last Passover seder.

savage——-Goddess hasn’t gotten banned, but she keeps away from the anti-Christian posts. She found the changes very upsetting for a while and almost left, but she has learned to cope by a combination of avoidance and denial.
She’s had a hard time in her personal life the last year or so and has relied on LGF for companionship and amusement. She’s just not ready to make the break.
Again, it’s the OT chatroom that is appealing over there, not the CJ & Co obsessions.
Goddess stays away from the obsessions and almost exclusively comes on board when thread are waaaaaaay OT.
She’s a VERY good egg! And has buckets of common sense, too.

There is evidence that prayer does help the healing process. Whether anyone wants to believe it’s divine intervention or simply positive thinking stimulating the body is a personal choice. But it certainly doesn’t harm.

Wow, did I really say “Michalagelo”?
Oooops, what I meant to say was Rembrandt, Picasso, Dali, Botticelli, Da Vinci.

Here’s a hilarious and daring comment by a long term lizard who is obviously getting amused at the lizard attack-squad mentality. ( I will not get him in trouble by including the nic.)

I like Jindal he has a lot to offer even if I don’t agree with him on every issue. He is good for conservatism. Not sure if he should be the banner carrier but I am glad that we do have some young bright minds. Remember people he is only 37 years old!

Too late friend, the mob has spoken. Monorail! Monorail! MONORAIL!

Er—- The last sentence was ANONYMOUS’s comment. I didn’t do italics right.

But I love that MONORAIL MONORAIL MONORAIL bit——not to mention “the mob has spoken.”

I added the italics. Did I get it right? As soon as you confirm, I’ll delete these ‘correction’ posts. :)
