For those of you who missed it I noticed this comment about the conference in Jerusalem at Jihad Watch earlier this morning……
Most personally satisfying moment of the day: Getting a hug from Pamella, having Robert sign my copy of Onward Muslim soldiers, and Standing on the balcony of the center with Pamella and Robert during lunch, decrying the damage LGF and CJ has done to the antijihad movement.
I think the whole tone of the meeting would have had the LGF/CJ sycophants spitting nails.
It’s done.
LGF has done damage by silencing those who really oppose Islam and not the Bushbot/Leftist view of Islam.

I guess we shouldn’t be surprised. Europe never did grasp the concepts we have here in America that allows our immigrants to assimilate. They just didn’t have the historical background America did in the matter. Quite easy for them to slip into their centuries old blood and soil.
We in America never had an aristocracy or nobility like europe’s. Anyone can come here and become an American. They just don’t have the background needed to understand the beautiful simplicity of an ideology based on individual rights.

Wow, as far as comment 1 goes here I actually agree with Sharmuta. Never thought I’d say that. Pigs are flying. One cannot assimilate in most of Europe, it’s just not possible. The cultural realities are just vastly different. A good read of Bruce Bawer’s While Europe Slept will suffice for those who aren’t in contact with disaffected Europeans. Even white Americans cannot be seen as autochtonen in the Netherlands, much less the Maroc. This doesn’t excuse the behavior but is definitely a component and a clear reason why the Euro counter-jihadists are coming from a different perspective that is almost irreconcilable with the American model. The canary in the coal mine is the only possible analogy, despite pleas by some to see it otherwise, as some sort of prelude. We also weren’t a colonialist nation which does make another difference.

I still feel sick to my stomach when I think about the damage Charles is doing to what might have been a counter-jihad movement. His original point was that any associations with Nazis, fascists, crypto-Nazis, or whatever would be fatal to any movement. Now he goes out of his way to create such associations using questionable or defamatory evidence often from biased sources. Charles is completely ignorant of the European trend towards using racism (a criminal offense — thoughtcrime) as a catch-all way to eliminate political opposition. So he keeps using more and more, well, fascist sources to prove everyone who disagrees with him is a fascist. All this as his posting against jihad and all its manifestations gets lighter and lighter. I have a feeling LGF will slowly slip further and further towards outright da’wa, like AP, BBC, or CNN.
