Lipstick on a Pig
They’re going to try to argue it’s not connected.
LEBANON, Va. — “That’s not change,” Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., said of what Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is offering.
“You know, you can put lipstick on a pig,” Obama said, “but it’s still a pig.”

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.
Play nice!
OBAMA MUST THINK THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE STUPID !!!
It’s one thing when Obama tries to cover up mistakes he’s
made in private, or when he feebly tries to cover up or misdirect
us, by saying that he never heard Wright’s anti-American sermons
over a 20 year period … but, when Obama tells us that the
Palin lipstick/pig remark wasn’t an insult directed towards
Governor Palin, then Obama is adding insult to injury towards
the American people. This creep is not Presidential material.
P.S. The main stream liberal press which is attempting damage control for Obama, also must think the American people are stupid
The “lipstick on a pig” association with Palin — complete with picture! — was posted on a DNC sponsored website blog BEFORE Obama made his remarks.
Surely his people troll the websites to give him soundbytes — because that idiot can’t think on his own.
“Official Democrat website: Palin pick ‘lipstick on a pig’
Posting with photograph of dolled-up swine made before Obama’s controversial remarks”

Well, don’t you all realize that Obama is the ONE? He is infallible, omnipotent and an all around great guy?

Eh, I don’t think it is connected to Palin, I really don’t.
It is a very valid saying and the saying fit the point Obama was trying to make.
If the tables were reversed, we’d be ranting about how stupid the Democrats are for twisting words to mean what they don’t mean to try and smear McCain. Let’s not engage in that behavior ourselves.
Obama said enough stupid things in that speech that we don’t need to manufacter contraversies.
saying “you can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig” is something that both McCain AND Obama have used before, long before Palin was in this…. heck, *I* use that sometimes…. it really wasn’t a rip on Palin and the Republicans are going to look like a bunch of stomping mad idiots when this is over if they keep on it.
as a ‘addendum’:
I DO believe that the press and the lefties are making that comparison and running wild with it. However, I do not believe that Obama was making that connection.
But that very analogy was drawn on an official DNC website on August 30th — I am SURE Obama or his handlers saw it in the ensuing 10 days. I think the audience’s laughter was absolutely connected to the picture — and at the very least, his handlers should have warned him away from it.
