We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.
Play nice!

charlie don’t surf!
Dry air to the west and upper level wind shear are taking the steam out of this sucker. Cat 2 at landfall. New Orleans is spared. George Bush tried again, but failed this time.
I don’t know . Noaa still says its a Cat 3…

It might be a Cat 3 now but it’s running out of steam. By the time the eye area (where most of the highest winds are) hits land it’ll be a Cat 2. Hurricanes like moist air, not dry and thats what is feeding this now. The difference between the wind direction at the ground and the upper levels (shear) is grinding this baby down. The news is still going to try to make a big deal out of it, but its not going to be a big deal. Some siding and shingles will blow off, a few trees will fall over, but once again the Bush/Rove machine will fail to destroy the Chocolate City.
Well, lets hope you’re right. I’m in Memphis now and people are getting nervous about it. Katrina drenched this area when she showed up
Oh yeah, there still could be a lot of rain. But there won’t be enough low pressure to bring any sort of storm surge to Chocolate City. No levee breeches, no flooded homes in NO. The rain, even a hundred miles away or so, could make things interesting for you.
This storm will convince people not to leave next time.
Indeed. I had the laptop on inside the restaurant and one of the drivers lives in Port Arthur TX. Dude is damn well freaking out and for good reason.
ya no it will be like a category 6 ….gaurantee it.
nope……you fricken idiot maybe a 3.
well, its a 2 now and fyi, the Saffer-Simpson scale only goes to 5, sheesh
