Chuck got fired from Pajamas Media
Why?
Hurricane Gustav is shaping up to be a major disaster for the Gulf states; here’s the latest satellite photo from the NOAA. This thing is gigantic.

One of the most bizarre manifestations of leftist cognitive dissonance occurs when hardcore feminists like Naomi Wolf abandon all their principles and twist themselves into philosophical knots, in order to make excuses for one of the most misogynistic belief systems on Earth: Behind the veil lives a thriving Muslim sexuality.
Ideological battles are often waged with women’s bodies as their emblems, and Western Islamophobia is no exception. When France banned headscarves in schools, it used the hijab as a proxy for Western values in general, including the appropriate status of women. When Americans were being prepared for the invasion of Afghanistan, the Taliban were demonised for denying cosmetics and hair colour to women; when the Taliban were overthrown, Western writers often noted that women had taken off their scarves.
But are we in the West radically misinterpreting Muslim sexual mores, particularly the meaning to many Muslim women of being veiled or wearing the chador? And are we blind to our own markers of the oppression and control of women?
The West interprets veiling as repression of women and suppression of their sexuality. But when I travelled in Muslim countries and was invited to join a discussion in women-only settings within Muslim homes, I learned that Muslim attitudes toward women’s appearance and sexuality are not rooted in repression, but in a strong sense of public versus private, of what is due to God and what is due to one’s husband. It is not that Islam suppresses sexuality, but that it embodies a strongly developed sense of its appropriate channelling – toward marriage, the bonds that sustain family life, and the attachment that secures a home.

John McCain has told Fox News’ Chris Wallace that he may postpone the Republican convention because of Hurricane Gustav.
John McCain said the Republican National Convention may be postponed as federal officials said Hurricane Gustav was gathering to a devastating Category 5 as it headed toward star-crossed New Orleans.
“It just wouldn’t be appropriate to have a festive occasion while a near-tragedy or a terrible challenge is presented in the form of a natural disaster,” McCain told Chris Wallace of “Fox News Sunday,” in an interview taped for tomorrow. “So we’re monitoring it from day to day and I’m saying a few prayers, too.”

Alleged war criminal Radovan Karadzic appeared in court yesterday, and refused to enter a plea.
LONDON, Aug. 29 — Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic declined to enter a plea Friday in a courtroom in The Hague, refusing to recognize the legitimacy of the U.N. war crimes tribunal bringing genocide and other charges against him.
“This court is representing itself falsely as a court of the international community, whereas it is in fact a court of NATO, whose aim is to liquidate me,” said Karadzic, who faces charges relating to the 1995 massacre of 8,000 Muslim men and boys in the town of Srebrenica and other crimes during the 1992-1995 Bosnian war. …
Judge Iain Bonomy, facing Karadzic in scarlet robes, told Karadzic that Friday’s hearing was not about the court’s jurisdiction, but simply on how he planned to plead. Karadzic, 63, faces 11 charges, including genocide counts relating to the siege of Sarajevo, in which thousands of people were killed in shelling and sniper fire, and the Srebrenica massacre, the deadliest atrocity in Europe since the end of World War II.
My Opinion: This man is a hero! He foght the Jihad and should be given a medal.

Great pick! You go, girl!
I had no idea that ‘creationist’ was the new litmus test. For crying out loud, get over it!
Well Charles, that’s your problem. Go vote for Obama since you can’t get over it. You have no influence outside of your cult. The only good you do is researching stories for this blog.
Raymond over at Dhimmiwatch totally debunks the Creationist-Islamic allaince threory the Cult Leader Nancy@LGF is spewing.
Raymond debunks Charles with this:
Interesting observation, though based on a flawed correlation. First of all, so-called Christian “fundamentalism” has absolutely no connection to Islamic fundamentalism — even if they both believe in creationism. Christianity is not “throbbing with suicide bombers” simply because the concept of killing oneself to kill others is antithetical to Christian doctrine, whose central figure accepted death in order that others might live. So this concept that, Christian and Muslim literalists are both prone to violence and intolerance, and that the former have not been engaged in that sort of thing is evidence that Christianity is going the way of the dodo, is wrong.
Charles, I know you read this site and go to the link. You are anti Judeo-Christian and are being exposed. There is no link between Creationists and Jihadists. It’s a fantasy you have invented to cover up your bigotry towards people of faith. You do a dis service to the anti-Jihad movement.
Charles,
You are a fraud!
